It's time for some Nintendo Trivia! :o
Every two or three days I'll add a new question about Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, Etc. for everyone (who wants to participate that is) to answer!
If you don't know the answer you can look it up with google, but remember using google to answer takes away the fun!
With every new question I'll reveal the answer to the previous question as well!
Have fun everyone and "Let's a Go"!
Question 1: Which of these is NOT a subspecies of Goomba?
A - Galoomba
B - Goombkin
C - Goombrat
D. There's different kinds? wtf
But anyway probably B. because Goombkin doesn't sound like a real name
Quote from: braixen1264 on May 12, 2016, 12:41:33 PMBut anyway probably B. because Goombkin doesn't sound like a real name
C
B. Seems awkward and forced enough to not be real.
Quote from: braixen1264 on May 12, 2016, 12:41:33 PMD. There's different kinds? wtf

C is legit. Would it be possible that B is an alternative name for the Jack O' Lantern Goombas in SMG?
i identify as a goombkin, no h8 pls
I'll say C.
B is correct, Google searching goombkin literally yields 0 results
^^^
Ah
Man, you guys are fast!
Yes, B is the correct answer!
Goombrats are found in NSMBU and Galoombas are the type of Goombas that are found in SMW!
Goombkins do not exist!
I promise this next question will be a bit harder! :P
Question 2:What are the only two starter PoⒸemon that can learn the move "Flame Wheel"?
Cyndaquil and Chimchar, I think?
Good think I picked Cyndaquil for Gen 2. Cyndaquil and...hm, Fennekin?
I'm pretty sure Fennekin can learn Flame Wheel, but I really don't know
Quote from: braixen1264 on May 13, 2016, 07:58:56 AMI'm pretty sure Fennekin can learn Flame Wheel, but I really don't know
Come on Braix, you should know! :P
fennekin and chimchar
Bulbasaur and Squirtle
pidgey and xerneas
I'm almost 100% certain that Cyndaquil can learn it, but I'm stumped with the other one. My guess is Chimchar.
Quote from: Dude on May 13, 2016, 09:48:04 AMBulbasaur and Squirtle
:-\
Quote from: braixen1264 on May 13, 2016, 07:58:56 AMI'm pretty sure Fennekin can learn Flame Wheel, but I really don't know
Fennekin learns Flame Charge, similar but it has less power and increases speed by 1.
The answer is the Cyndaquil Line and Chimchar Line!
Now for a very tough one (if no one gets this without google I'll go a little easier)!
Question 3: How many Goombas are found in World 1-1 of Super Mario Bros.?
A - 16
B - 9
C - 18
D - 7
Actually loading up a ROM and playing it counts as cheating right? Because I just did that.
E - 100
F - All of them.
I'll go with D
I'mma guess B.
Here's a hint:
HINT
It's either an even or an odd number

D - 7
obvs c
Gonna go with B.

D - 7
I'm thinking it's B. GAH! I should know this!
D
Alright, guess that was too hard..
The Answer is A: 16 Goombas
Now next easier question..
Question 4: What is the sum of Mario's, Zelda's, and Pokemon's ages?
pokemon is '96 (I think?), zelda is '87, mario is '85 I'm pretty sure, so that'd be 20+29+31=80
Age = x
- This honestly depends on what release date you go for (I think), because Pokémon was released in Japan in 1995 (I think), but everywhere else got it in 1996 (I THINK). I'll go with 1996
- No clue with Legend of Zelda's one. I think it's 1987, but I'm not sure.
- Super Mario Bros was released in 1985. I'm certain of that one.
- Oh wait, but it also depends on the month as well, darn.
- Wait, do you include "Donkey Kong" as a part of "Mario's age"? That would send it back to 1981. I'll just go with 1985.
- 1996 - 2016 = 20 Years
- 1987 - 2016 = 29 Years
- 1985 - 2016 = 31 Years
- 20 + 29 + 31 = 80
- I will be so mad with myself if I made basic mathematical errors.
I wasn't sure about mario but I'm 100% on zelda's release date
Quote from: WaluigiTime64 on May 14, 2016, 07:24:11 PM- This honestly depends on what release date you go for...
Argh, forgot about different releases!
Okay so based off the North American release of each game (Super Mario Bros. for Mario).
Sorry about that!
RD of SMB in NA is 1985. For Pokémon, it's 1996 (iirc, because this is the 20th anniversary). Don't know concerning LoZ.
EDIT: Just read posts. Since Zelda is 87,
Mario=31
Link=29
Pokémon=20
Total=80
Waluigi, you're correct.
excuse me how about noc is correct because he said 80 first
Agreed, Noc said it first.
Honestly it doesn't matter because it's the same answer.
Oh, sorry. Didn't see that, Noc.
Yeah, everyone is correct that's answered!
Unless X=triangle. Because that's crazy.
Again, terribly sorry!
The correct answer is 78! (I know, I thought it was 80 too, but I double checked)
Again, going off of the North American release years Pokemon would be 18 (20 in Japan), Mario would be 31, and Zelda would be 29.
I guess the whole 20th anniversary confused us all, regarding Pokemon's age! xD
But anywhos, next question.
Question 5: Which one of these items is unobtainable in The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (GCN Version)
- A Grappling Hook
- B Deku Leaf
- C Boomerang
- D Megaton Hammer
I came expecting a challenge. smh
D
D
Quote from: Dudeman on May 18, 2016, 10:16:36 AMI came expecting a challenge. smh
Okay, so obviously a little too easy (sorry I know more about Pokemon and Mario than Zelda, so it'll take a while for me to come up with a tough Zelda one)
Anyways, yes the correct answer is D.
Now for the next question:
Question 6: In Pokemon, which fire starter has the
lowest base stats, and which water and grass starters have the
highest base stats? (Excluding Megas)
litten popplio rowlet
Imma go with Typhlosion for Fire, Swampert for Water, and Serperior for Grass.
Same but I think chestnut is higher than serperior
Emboar? (Fire) (528?) (I know it's not Typhlosion because it has the same base-stat-total as Charizard)
Swampert (Water) (535) (I'm certain)
Serperior (Grass) (528?) (I think)
Alright, sorry for the long wait!
The answer is Emboar (528), Swampert (535) and either Chesnaught or Sceptile (both have 530).
I didn't notice that Chesnaught and Sceptile had the same base stat total at first, sorry about that!
Now Question 7: How many spikes does Bowser have on his shell?
- A 15
- B 7
- C 5
- D 10
B, I do believe.
Quote from: DocDoom2 on June 01, 2016, 11:01:09 AMNow Question 7: How many spikes does Bowser have on his shell?
- A 15
- B 7
- C 5
- D 10
C
A
No one said D, so I'll go with that.
I think 5 is too few, and 15 just seems too many.
I'll go with Dudeman on this one. B.
Yeah, B seems reasonable. I'll go with B.
B
Z
Zzzzzzzzz
D
Alright, the answer is D (3 on either side and 4 down the middle)
Now next question,
Question 8: Which of these Pokemon has the highest base speed (including megas)?
- A Salamence
- B Alakazam
- C Garchomp
- D Greninja

C
lol @ garchomp
fun fact: its mega evolution is 10 points slower than its base form!
nuuuuuu my hopes have been crushed
C
but garchomp runs so fast that its windstream fells trees
If you include Megas, then that's obviously B... but we all know that Scarfed Garchomp is the fastest in our hearts!
Sorry I haven't been on this thread for a long time, but I've finally found the time to add another question (and I've finally figured out a good Zelda question! I think...)
Anyways the answer to the last question was B, Mega Alakazam with a base speed of 150.
Here's question 9: How many times is Ganon revived in the "Hero is Defeated" timeline?
- A. 3 times
- B. 4 times
- C. 2 times
- D. 5 times
I think A?
Wooo, good question. Um, I think A, unless his return in ALttP counts as a resurrection.
I actually don't know because I'm unfamiliar with the oracle games. But he gets revived in ALttP and technically AoL since if you die it says return of ganon
you can fight Ganon in the oracle games if you link them together.
so it could really be either A or C depending on whether you count AoL, Oracles, or even BotW (which I remain firmly convinced of)
Quote from: NocturneOfShadow on July 10, 2016, 04:29:08 PMso it could really be either A or C depending on whether you count AoL, Oracles, or even BotW (which I remain firmly convinced of)
BotW is unknown rn so that shouldn't count. the other two are the ones in question, because they don't happen on a normal playthrough. Adventure of Link is weird because it only happens on the game over screen, so it depends on what you're accepting for an answer. Oracles have a similar situation.
The Oracle linked ending is considered the true ending anyway, so I'd count it. I wouldn't count Ganon on the game over screen of AoL, since it's a game over screen, and the question is "how many times is Ganon revived."
