NEW THREAD (http://www.ninsheetm.us/smf/index.php?topic=5416.msg201325#msg201325)
Sootopolis sounds cooler without City :D and it's not that big a deal, but I see your point.
Magna=big/great (in Latin), so magma would of course be better...
Also, glad to see that "Silph" is spelled correctly now. :D
Is it ok if I post some other typos here? I'm pretty sure Pokemon isn't the only culprit on this front. I think some duplicate arrangements are still hanging around on the site too, even after they were replaced. I don't mind combing the site and looking for these later today if it would help.
@Sekter77: Yes absolutely!
May I also point out the 2 Bicycle themes?
Here are the other ones I picked out. It's possible I missed some though so keep your eyes open. If I'm wrong on any of these feel free to correct me.
Fixed.
--SM64:
Haunted Merry should be replaced by -> Haunted Merry-go-round.
--Super Mario World 2:
Flower Garden and Make Eggs, Throw Eggs. Neither of these are arrangements really better than the other, but I guess Flower Garden should stay.
--Ocarina of Time:
Chest Open should be replaced by -> Open Treasure Chest.
--Oracle of Ages and Seasons:
Fairies Fountain and Impas Odd Arrival. The one with the apostrophes in the title should stay.
--Minish Cap:
Minish Village and Story (both were by G-Han) have both been replaced by WarioMan's versions.
--Goldeneye:
I don't know if this is a typo from the game, but "Kirghizstan" should be spelled Kyrgyzstan.
--The two Soul Calibur 3 sections should be combined.
--"Earth Worm" Jim section should be spelled with just two words -> ("Earthworm Jim").
Quote from: Sekter77 on February 14, 2011, 06:47:49 PM--Minish Cap:
Minish Village and Story (both were by G-Han) have both been replaced by WarioMan's versions.
Is that bad?
Fixed these:
Super Mario 64 - Haunted Merry-Go-Round
Minish Cap - Minish Village/Story
Oracle of Seasons/Ages - Impa's Odd Arrival
What about Team Magna?
Fixed.
Sweetness.
Hurray, ty winter. Don't know why I didn't do some of those myself. :P
Also didn't notice the Sotopolis one.
Fixed.
Touhou7: Perfect Cherry Blossom:
- Phantom Ensemble is spelled "Enemble"
Pokémon Red/Blue:
- Jigglypuff Song -> Jigglypuff's Song
- Pokecenter -> Poké Center
Entire Pokémon section:
- Fix the é in appropriate places! (this will take forever, but I'll get started if the other mods think it's worth it.)
Pokémon Colosseum:
Miror. B. Battle -> Miror B. Battle (no dot after Miror)
Pokémon DPP:
- Floraroma Town -> Floaroma Town
- Route 205(Duet) should preferrably have a space between 205 and (Duet), like the rest of the duets on site.
Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire:
- Little Root Town(Duet) -> Littleroot Town (Duet)
This one might not go well with the code, but I feel like I should point out that the Touhou 6 song, "U.N. Owen Was Her?" is spelled with a question mark. Though, I would understand why the site spells it without one. Same goes for the é in Pokémon, really. (We should ask Dude)
A) IT IS NOT FREAKING POKECENTER OR POKE CENTER OR WHATEVER. I will attempt to say it calmly.
POKéMON CENTER POKéMON CENTER POKéMON CENTER
I know that sounds petty but THAT HAS BEEN BUGGING ME FROM THE VERY FIRST TIME I SAW THAT ON THE SITE
B) Everything that he said, except I don't care so much about the é.
Don't (Pokewhatever's) have [Poké] written on the outside?
Implying Pokécenter :P
^No, actually, I did some research. Slow is right, it is Pokémon Center, with no official way of shortening it.
Interesting. Also I figured out how to fix typos and whatnot. I'll start helping once I get my computer back
Dahans' Great Pokemon medley at the bottom has a broken link.
SoulCalibur Categories!! And note the exact spelling because I got it wrong the first time XD I might update the sheets once I get a few other things done...
It should be:
Fixed.
SoulCalibur
Going to Where the Wind Blows
SoulCalibur II
Character Select
Hubris (Reprise)
SoulCalibur III
Peaceful Days
Healing Winds
Forsaken Sanctuary
All right! I'll fix these tomorrow afternoon. Do you think you could make PDF's of them too so they could be complete?
I'll make the pdfs once I get some stuff set up >__>
Also I have to let the original arranger know if I'm going to change the submission. That might take a while. I can submit the pdfs for the other ones he didn't arrange, but I think you'd like them all at once, no?
Delldongo has the pdf versions on his site, but we shouldn't just use those, so...wait? :D
If you want to provide the ones that aren't arranged by him, that would be cool :)
Fixed.
Under Pokemon GS, there are two arrangements labeled "Route 30" and "Route 32", but those are the same song... and they actually lead to the same arrangement.
Do you happen to know which route is the correct one?
CutePDF converts insanely fast.
The reason you don't see any more franchises uploaded already is because I have homework and I'm lazy.
I wouldn't mind converting them to PDF's for you, if need be.
No it's only like 2 sheets, but jub, of you wanted to convert anything for me, the Mega Man section could probably get knocked out pretty fast.
Quote from: winterkid09 on February 17, 2011, 08:07:06 AMDo you happen to know which route is the correct one?
In the games, both Route 30 and Route 32 play the same song. So it doesn't matter but as the arrangement is titled "Route 32", Route 30 should be deleted.
Ok. I'll do it tomorrow. Still don't have the computer
Fixed.
Could you also merge the two Star Fox sections?
It should be written with two words like it is in that last sentence.
Sure thing!
Fixed:
-Earthworm Jim
-SoulCalibur
-SoulCalibur II
-SoulCalibur III
-Route 30/32 Problem
The actual MUS was titled 32, so since they're identical, i deleted Route 30. I know there's things I forgot, just post them again if you can.
Fixed.
Wish i was a mod here so i could cross things off. xD
Fixed.
Ok so we have 2 bike themes. I need advice on which one to toss. Personally, i think Drp's looks more attractive.
Yeah, Dr. P's is better. I think I remember that being a replacement in an update a while ago too.
Quote from: Cobraroll on February 16, 2011, 08:35:53 AM^No, actually, I did some research. Slow is right, it is Pokémon Center, with no official way of shortening it.
And what about Pokemart?
Phew. And 2 hours later....... I finished everything mention in this thread.
Any other mistakes you want to hassle me with?
:D
You still haven't read it, and that is a very big mistake.
urgh, Stop being so difficult...
If I convert at least 20 different sheets every day from Monday to Friday, will you at least consider reading it? XD
Consider......yes, it just doesn't strike me of much interest..
Next on my list:
Fix Starfox 64 > Star Fox 64
pain in the butt...
I found another one too. "Enchanted Woods" in Donkey Kong Country 2 should be taken off. "Forest Interlude" by Brassman is the same song done much better.
I'll fix that up tomorrow afternoon
Super Mario RPS: Smithy's Factory has a Corrupted MUS. Anyone have the original? or could someone check the Midi and make a new MUS?
Fixed :P
The Kirby titles need some fixing.
Kirby Superstar -> Super Star should actually be two words. (i.e. Kirby Super Star)
Kirby's Dreamland -> Dream Land is also two words (This goes for Kirby's Dream Land 2 and Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land as well)
And in Pokemon:
Route 2 in R/B/Y should actually be "Route 4"
Ah, right, I should be keeping up on this. I'll pin it so anyone that found mistakes know where to go. :)
Perfection is nice xD
http://www.ninsheetm.us/smf/index.php?topic=1810.0 (http://www.ninsheetm.us/smf/index.php?topic=1810.0)
I almost feel inclined to merge the two. Splitting similar things over 2 boards seems messy.
I'm not a moderator of that board, and can't merge. I guess the decision is yours!
Guess I should have posted in here earlier instead of a new topic, but it would seem that Amp Plains isn't on the site anymore. Did it intentionally get removed?
I didn't delete any sheets that weren't being replaced during this most recent update. If it's gone, i assure you it wasn't intentional.
Hm. Strange. Maybe it will show up eventually.
the PDF, MUS, and MID for Spinda's Café (Duet) all give me errors.
I took the sheet down and re-added it, the files give me the same error. The sheet will me down until I can fix that. Sorry.
You didn't remember to change my files from Fingerz to Joel Hands-Otte, did you winterkid? ;)
Fixed
I'll do it eventually. sorry
That's okay! :)
On that note. If anyone here has any sheets on the site that are under the wrong name, whether it's not capitalized, or you want it different. Just pm me with the change, and I'll make sure all your sheets show up with that name.
star fox boss roll is has me listed as the arranger on the site, but it's supposed to be blackwaive, as noted in the sheet. I don't plaster my name on a replacement unless it's a complete reworking of the sheet. I think you've done this with all of my replacements.
speaking of boss roll, it's the same song as ending arranged by Brassman388.
QuoteThe PDF for Route 2 under R/B/Y version leads to the Celadon City PDF. Could you fix that, please?
I put this under the missing files topic under the Help! section, but it looks like no one saw it, so...
I have a similar question to shadoninja regarding a couple of arrangements of mine that were replaced. All that was changed was enharmonic spellings and a lack of articulations. I'm referring to the underwater themes from SMB & SMB3.
This reminds me. My replacements of Forest of Illusion, Death, and World Map for Super Mario World should not be listed under my name. I didn't re-arrnge them, I just made some corrections or added a few parts. I believe they were all by G-Han. The correct arranger's name is in the sheet though so there's no need to change it there, just change what's listed on the site.
I'll compile the list of actual arrangers
Metroid
Brinstar: Brian Auyeung, Adrian Currier
Item Found: Megaman64
Kraid's Lair: G-Han
Norfair: Olimar12345
Tourian: Olimar12345
Star Fox
Boss Roll: BlackWaive
Assault
Main Theme: MetroidHunter26
Final Fantasy VI
Dark World:Gooch
Fanfare is fine.
Super Mario World
Forest of Illusion: G-Han
Death: G-Han
World Map:G-Han
everything else listed I can't verify as I don't have the before and after. I think we need a reform of replacement formatting during submission. how about we include the arranger name beside the MUS link.
e.g
"[Console]Game Title - Song Title [MUS] - Arranger's Name"
that way if the replacement is only a few changes, put the original arranger's name down. if it's a major overhaul of the original sheet, you can put your own name down.
The current protocol is to list the arranger as it appears on the sheet, which accounts for people wanting to use their real name etc and also for replacements with minimal changes. But I'm not sure if anyone told winterkid this ::)
i'm spam message it to winter next time he's on facebook and if it hasn't happened yet.
Aw, frick. Accidentally removed it.
EDIT: Just forget I said anything.
sklvjhskj
Sorry. I'll fix those. I won't have internet for the next 3 weeks though. Unless I sit down at a coffee shop and have the time, it may take a while.
But I'll keep it in mind. Unless Deku had plans of changing it.
the Metroid Section needs some fixin-these sheets have different arranger names when you open them:
-Item found is arr. by Megaman64
-Kraids lair is arr. by G-han
-Norfair by me
-Title by me
-Tourian by me
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this yet, but I went to check my newest added arrangement;
What's in the Box? from Kirby Air Ride, and first of all: It's in the wrong game section
(Kirby Air Ride as opposed to Kirby's Air Ride {the first being the right title by the way}).
Secondly, I hit the midi link and it said "Error 404: File not found".
Sorry if it sounds like I'm flipping out because I'm not, but this really should be fixed.
I don't know if this is the correct place to suggest this (and even so, it's probably low priority at the moment anyway) - but I was wondering if the new Rune Factory 3 arrangements should go under the "Harvest Moon" franchise rather than "Other"? They are part of the same family, after all.
But please ignore this until you guys manage to get all the above problems done and out of the way. ;)

If someone converts Route 2's PDF for me, I'll fix it up.
Feel free to add to this list in the same format as I have already set up.
I noticed that "The Great Pokemon Medley" from Pokémon Blue Red Yellow by dahans is missing the .PDF and .MUS files (file not found).
Can someone please fix these links, I really like the sheet music :) Thanks in advance!
Still working on that.
Isn't it supposed to be Kirby Super Star and Kirby Air Ride instead of Kirby Superstar and Kirby's Air Ride? ???
I'll check later. Considering we can't just change the title of the game, and we have to delete everything and reupload it in a new title, it's a lot more painstaking than it sounds :|
Thanks winterkid! Now I can start practicing that song ;D
sorry for not clarifying this more clearly during the last submission but the chocobo theme that's in "final fantasy II" should be under "final fantasy IV"
Gotcha. I won't be able to fix things for like 2 days. Sorry.

Hey did you get the Kirby Super Star error fixed yet?? :o
No, sorry. Working on the update.
Hey! Checked the "Together We Ride (Replacement)" and the link is wrong, it´s Super Mario Galaxy 2 Trailer Theme. Just to let you know, winter. :)
fixed
castlevania - poison mind's PDF links to castlevania - vampire killer. Fixed.
edit: and here's the pdf for poison mind http://www.mediafire.com/?m2v6jhfiy7k2ves
The Bicycle Theme from Pokémon Black/White has wrong files for both .MUS and .MID. The .PDF seems to be correct, though.
Fixed.
"Kirby's Air Ride" should be "Kirby Air Ride".
^That doesn´t really matter...
In the pokemon diamond, pearl and platinum section, the midi and mus from the "Pokemon Diamond Pearl and Platinum" from dahans are missing. Shouldn´t it be "The Great Medley" instead of the actual name?
"Pokémon Televised Series" should be "Pokémon Anime Sound Collection".
You know, to go with the youtube references and albums.
Oh, and Wario, Winter said "any problems whatsoever"... If they think it's important they'll fix it.
(Don't get me wrong.. I'm not freaking out)
Is it just me, or did the lines disappear for the arrangements under Pokemon Ruby Sapphire?
It actually looks kinda cool.
Fixed, apparently.
To follow up WarioMan's comment, I found the midi, but no mus or pdf for Pokemon Diamond Pearl and Platinum.
I must've gotten the fields mixed up when I submitted that. I'll get to fixing it, but the MUS, MIDI are unfixable atm.
Mario & Luigi Partners in Time Normal Battle is a two pianos duet but the title on the site doesn't label it as such.
I have plans of going through all the duets/2 piano's and organizing them.
Quote from: JDMEK5 on August 26, 2011, 10:43:22 AM"Kirby's Air Ride" should be "Kirby Air Ride".
I figured that since I am not updating this week, I'd do something productive for you guys. The game section title has been fixed.
I have fixed this problem. If you look under the Air Ride section, you'll notice "What's in the Box" now has a question mark on the end of it. You can thank JaMaHa for adding a filter for that symbol. That was an unavailable character before. Also "City" was changed to it's correct name "City Trial"
Enjoy.
On the Twilight Princess section: "Twilight Ice Mass: Blizzeta(Part 1)"
It should be : "Twilit Ice Mass: Blizzeta (Phase/Form 1)"
It´s not a "part" of the battle, it´s a different form/phase of Blizzeta herself.
The PDF link for "Escape Through the Snow / Snow Refugees" in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red/Blue Rescue Team section is broken.
I was thinking, (whoops!) and I thought about maybe putting the accent mark on the "e"s in the world of Pokémon. (Well, here anyways)
It's not that hard and it would make the site look a little more professional.
(Hit Alt+0233 on the number pad)
I don't think that symbol has been filtered yet. If it has, I missed that. Yes, I've wanted to do the exact same thing, but considering the mass amount of Pokemon sheets, that'd take me more than a week to fix using our current sheet uploading program. I don't want the entire Pokemon List to be down for that long.
With a new editing system, I could edit just the name titles without changing the files, and I could do it in no time. That's something that's going to need to wait until JaMaHa provides us with that ability.
I'm sorry it can't be done any quicker :/
That can be something we get around to for the FIXING THE SHEETS project.
This might just be me being picky... but shouldn't the "B" in EarthBound be capitalized?
Oh, and the "Summers" MID never worked for me for some reason.
I would like to suggest that a "2" be added to the title of the "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon [2]: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky" section on the main site, in order to clarify that it is a sequel to "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red/Blue Rescue Team".
I was thinking about that a few days ago.
Thanks for fixing Kirby Air Ride.
Now we've got a bit in the "Mario" section. Under "Super Mario Bros." there's an arrangement (by myself, of course) titled, "Bowser Battle".
The name is right and everything, but it's in the wrong game. It actually should be in a separate game known as "Super Mario All-Stars".
(Exactly as typed above) It's sort of the same bit as "Super Mario Advance"; it's in All-Stars but not the original. So the entire title should read:
"Super Mario Bros. - Bowser Battle" as the song name and "Super Mario All-Stars" as the game name. Get it? I kinda left myself sorta confuzzled after all that... :P

Nice work with the "Bowser Bit". The pdf for "SSBM - Opening" has the wrong link at the bottom.
It says "ninsheetmusic.net" which is not the link for this site and even if that were it, music is spelt, "muisc" (or something like that).
I'm not sure if this problem exists with the mus or midi versions, but definetly the pdf.

...you could've added that "2" to the end of PMD2 section while you were at it... ::)
No. That's 14 sheets, 42 files in total I'd have to download and organize. Then I'd need to make a spreadsheet or a document saving all the data to enter back in, then delete all 14 sheets one by one, and then add them back up, just to add the (2)

We have two sections of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. They are "Mario & Luigi Partners in Time" and "Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time." The difference is the colon. I think this is a new problem since the only sheets in the second section are new submissions/replacements.

There's a problem every time... xD
I realized that some Wario games are separated. For example, Wario Land 4 and Wario Land are in the Super Mario section, while WarioWare Smooth Moves and Wario Land II and 3 are in the Other section.
The problem is Wario Land, which is 'Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land', but Wario Land II is not Super Mario Land 4... So I was wondering, Wario games go in the Super Mario section, the Other section or in a another new 'Wario' separate section? :-\
They should all go in the Super Mario Section.....
Aaaand... They have all been moved over successfully. *le sigh*

Pokemon Diamond Pearl Platinum (that's the name of the song and the game, it's a medley) (it should be called something else, btw) has a missing pdf file.

I deleted all the pokemon medleys. there used to be a problem with size limits making all the pdf's inaccessible. I'll wait till dahans sends me /all/ the files for each one at the same time then put them back up.

Oh I forgot. But it's okay it will get done :o
I just noticed something strange as I was peering through the Super Mario World arrangements. There are for some reason TWO arrangements of the Castle theme, one called "Sub Castle" and the other just being simply "Castle", both arranged by dahans. They are the same song, the only exception being the "Sub Castle" arrangement looks like a better formatted, cleaner version of the other. In short, I am requesting that "Castle" be taken down from the site and "Sub Castle" be renamed to "Castle".
*hides*
I'll clear through the last few things soon.
^^I guess the "Sub" stands for "To be submitted", in other words the version cleaned up for submission. He probably forgot to remove the link to the old one from the submission thread.
I did that replacement, the song's title is literally "Sub Castle". It was meant to replace "Castle"

Currently checking every sheet on the site for PDF files missing or broken etc. If you want to help, just click every pdf in a section, and list off any that have an error of any sort. (If any.) Then I'll fix them, solving a small portion of our problems FOREVER. Just post when you heve completed a section, and I'll cross it off the list I made in the first post of this thread. Use it to reference which sections have been completed.
Earthworm Jim's "Who Turned Out the Lights" is missing
Illusion of Gaia "Final Battle" is missing

Update: I checked the entire Banjo Kazooie section. Everything is perfectly fine, just three minor things: the file name of
Spiral Mountain is not in capital letters,
Glitter Gulch Mine says in the file name v2 and the first registers of
Fun 'n' Games,
Grunty Industries (Outside),
In the Hall of the Zombie King and
Jiggywiggy's Temple are illegible symbols instead of music notes.
Hmm, I wasn't at all talking about the file names.. But I /suppose/ I could fix that. I also do not see what you are talking about with Fun 'n' Games, Grunty Industries (Outside), In the Hall of the Zombie King and Jiggywiggy's Temple.

Some things I don't expect to be done any time soon but wanted to list now:
-The pokemon games with multiple versions should be separated by slashes instead of spaces (ex. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum)
- "Gamefreak" should be "Game Freak"
In the SSBM section, the "Victory!" and "Classic Clear!" should be together in groups.
You could do it by putting the "Victory!" or "Classic Clear!" before the character (which could be cool in parentheses).
Example: Victory! (Yoshi)

Although technically we have correct titles all over the place over in the Super Smash Bros. section, I think the songs on the page should consistently be labeled with at least the series name they belong to like they are everywhere else they list the Smash Bros. soundtrack (although we have different people listing game name/series name/franchise name). Although this is already implemented in such entries as "The Legend of Zelda Dark World" (specifically from A Link to the Past), we still have stuff labeled "Bramble Blast" which is not necessarily evocative of Donkey Kong Country (2) to the non-nerd, and I'm too scared to click on anything labeled simply "Main Theme" (from Zelda? from Mario? from Brawl itself?). We could also add a note to cameo songs such as the MM7 Alt Shade Man Theme (which is really the Ghosts n' Goblins (a completely different franchise) theme in disguise (which is a really nerdy thing to know), and one of the best available sheets of it too): although to be honest this is the only "both valid in-game music and also a remix of something completely different" song I can think of outside of the Smash Bros. page. Who's with me? And who's against me?

If they exist, soundtrack names are law.
Main theme should be properly labelled as "Super Smash Bros. Brawl Main Theme"
http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/music/music24_list.html
To restate, more specifically: Anyone with the power to do so, please rename all of the songs listed hereafter so that the game name is included in parenthesis with the words "Originally From:" after the song title, or provide a reasonable reason otherwise: Hyrule Castle is from The Legend of Zelda (the original NES game, I mean), Saffron City is from Pokemon (obvs.), Bramble Blast is from Donkey Kong Country 2 (Is it bad that I know all these off the top of my head?), the Shade Man Alt Theme is from Ghosts n' Goblins (look under the Mega Man page), Dialga/Palkia Battle... is from Pokemon, again, Final Destination is original to Brawl and doesn't need explained, the Fire Emblem Theme likewise unless redundancy is considered absolutely necessary, someone else actually had the sense to label the Ground Theme (thank you Nana1Popo2), King Dedede's Theme is from Kirby's Dream Land, Main Theme should be labeled "Super Smash Bros. Brawl Main Theme", Ocarina Medley should be labeled as from Ocarina of Time just in case, "The Legend of Zelda Dark World" should be relabeled "Dark World Overworld (Originally From: A Link to the Past), "The Roost (Two Pianos)" should be indicated as coming from Animal Crossing: Wild World (and we should really figure out whether we're going to say "Two Pianos" or "Duet" (I lean towards "Duet"; much fancier)), and I'm fresh out because the Melee songs don't have a website (unless someone wants to go through the old Japanese-only website here (http://www.nintendo.co.jp/n01/n64/software/nus_p_nalj/smash/flash/)) and all I can give from here one series names that everyone knows because I'm too lazy to check every individual game in the series for that particular theme. People looking to burn some time: here is your chance. Or you could just know this stuff. (Are there people nerdier more game-knowledge-intensive than I am? Hard to imagine.)
Duet is used for 2 people on 1 piano. Two Pianos...well...you get the idea ;)
As for renaming, if you can put together a nicely ordered list, I'll consider it when I do the next update (renaming takes a while).

I refuse to let anyone append that to the song title. You can add a note somewhere on the sheet, but you should not do it for the song title.

Pokemon Black/White (http://vgmdb.net/album/20831)Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_Black_and_White#Audio) for cross referencing.
There was some debate (http://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5432) for the naming of the battle themes, so I decided to keep with tradition and go with "Battle! [blank]". So, yes, even VGMDB can be inaccurate.
Name on Site - Soundtrack NameAlder's Theme - Champion Alder
Elite Four Battle - Battle! Elite Four
Emotion - Unwavering Emotions
Legendary Battle - Battle! Legendary Pokémon
N's Room - N, the Pokémon Child
Plasma Grunt Battle - Battle! Team Plasma
Rival Battle - Battle! Cheren/Bianca
Route 3 - Route 2 (seasons ambiguous)
Team Plasma Castle - N's Castle
Undella Town (Fall/Winter/Spring) - Undella Town (Fall-Spring)
More to come.
Ah, controversy! As far as I can tell, the name of the game gives as much information about the song as its title, and the absence of such a landmark can lead to confusion aplenty among anyone who isn't as intimately familiar with game soundtracks as those elites who run sites such as this one - I myself failed to recognize "The Roost" and "Together, We Ride". Any casual gamer coming to this site (which is more and more likely with the Wii and all that) stands a fair chance at being confused by simple names, and you can just feel the troublesome sort of atmosphere that settles down around you when you realize you have to click on a dozen links individually to have a fair chance at figuring out what's around you (and also that sounds like it would be harder to manage from an administrative standpoint too). THEREFORE, I stand by my request, and also because I've been given no reason not to. Mr. Shadoninja my have a good reason for responding, to an innocent request, with the cold hard words I refuse, but he had better have it, and give it, and there's probably no way we'll get this settled by next update.
Continuing on anyway, so I have something to do with what I have:
Your list, Mr. Trombonist! All the songs are prefaced by the series they belong to, as they are in the most official source we've got (http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/music/index.html), and which I have adopted for the other games too.
Hyrule Castle -> The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Castle
Saffron City -> Pokémon: Saffron City
Bramble Blast -> Donkey Kong Country: Bramble Blast
Dialga/Palkia Battle at Spear Pillar! -> Pokémon: Dialga/Palkia Battle at Spear Pillar!
Fire Emblem Theme -> Fire Emblem: Fire Emblem Theme (I know, redundant, but offiiicial soundtracks are laa-w)
Ground Theme (Super Mario Bros.) -> Super Mario Bros.: Ground Theme
King Dedede's Theme -> Kirby: King Dedede's Theme
Main Theme -> Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Main Theme
Ocarina Medley -> The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Medley

Flatzone -> Game & Watch: Flatzone
Fountain of Dreams -> Kirby: Fountain of Dreams
Hyrule Temple -> The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Temple
Onett -> Mother: Onett
Opening -> Super Smash Bros. Melee: Opening
Together, We Ride! (Two Pianos) -> Fire Emblem: Together, We Ride! (Two Pianos)
I very much hope I have ruined no one's day.
This went unnoticed: two game sections in the Fire Emblem category should be combined.
The two sections,
Fire Emblem and
Fire Emblem: The Blazing Sword are the same game.
I know it can be confusing, because this was the first international release of the game. I suppose it would be difficult to choose the appropriate name for the section.
The names can either be:
- Fire Emblem (The actual name of the international release)
- Fire Emblem: The Blazing Sword (The literal, but unofficial, translation of the Japanese name)
- Fire Emblem: The Sword of Flame (The name given by the official Japanese Fire Emblem website)
I'm not sure which name the admin/mod will decide, but I'm suggesting that
(FE6) should be put right after the title to avoid confusion.
Winter: Fixed, I made it simple Fire Emblem. Thanks for your input.
I noticed that B-Kpianist's "Planetarium" in Super Mario Galaxy, should really be "Comet Observatory"(that's it's official name). I was really confused that where's Comet Observatory?!

Winter: Fixed. That was weird.
On the main site, DekuTrombonist's arrangement of "Kalimari Desert" from Mario Kart 64 has a tempo marking of 250 quarter notes per minute. I don't think metronomes even click that fast. To correct that, I suggest putting the song in cut time and specify the tempo as 125 half notes per minute. Also, the left hand ostinato is really low most of the time, so I'd recommend implementing a 8vb bass clef there.
Quote from: Bespinben on September 12, 2012, 10:05:08 AMTo correct that, I suggest putting the song in cut time and specify the tempo as 125 half notes per minute.
Well, don't put it in cut time if it actually is in common. I think it is actually in common time, 125 bpm, and the note values have to be changed.
(16th notes in the left hand)
The reason I think it's common not cut, is that if you count the measures for each time at the end of the phrase at about 00:11, the common time has a hold of two measures, while the cut has four. Four measure ties in the middle of songs is extremely rare.
I did actually think of suggesting to half all the note values (8ths to 16ths etc), but that's ALOT of work for Deku, since there's nothing in Finale that lets you do that in mass. Stating cut time and 125 half notes per minutes still gets the point across about the beat.
Still, I do agree with you. The ideal form of this sheet would be 125 quarters per minute in 4/4 with 16ths in the bass.

Well yeah, that would have to be a replacement.
Doing what you suggested isn't really making it more accurate, if you know what I mean. It's more like "pushing it under the rug".
Doing the easy thing even though it doesn't really fix the issue; just changes it. It's still inaccurate, just not to the same degree.
Maybe go ahead, but it should be replaced if it's going to be fixed altogether.
Sorry if it sounded like I was slamming the idea down; I was just getting my point across.

Oh no no no, I totally get what you mean.
...actually, I think if you have FL Studio, you can work some magic with the note durations in mass, or something like that. Shado did something like that when Bubbles wrote a 12/8 song in 4/4.

Quote from: Bespinben on September 12, 2012, 12:25:28 PMOh no no no, I totally get what you mean.
...actually, I think if you have FL Studio, you can work some magic with the note durations in mass, or something like that. Shado did something like that when Bubbles wrote a 12/8 song in 4/4.
At the end of the piano roll there's a little circle that stretches the notes.
Quote from: Bespinben on September 12, 2012, 11:06:17 AMI did actually think of suggesting to half all the note values (8ths to 16ths etc), but that's ALOT of work for Deku, since there's nothing in Finale that lets you do that in mass. Stating cut time and 125 half notes per minutes still gets the point across about the beat.
Still, I do agree with you. The ideal form of this sheet would be 125 quarters per minute in 4/4 with 16ths in the bass.
Sure there is: Utilities -> Change -> Note Durations...
I'll get on to it.

...wish I had known that before writing up my newest revision of PMD2 "I Don't to Say Goodbye" from a few submissions updates back XD
Posting this here because Bespinben told me to :3
The song under Pokemon Gold/Silver "Violet City" is the same song that plays in Olivine City, so would you could just put a slash there? The same thing with Azeala town (Blackthorn City), Cherrygrove City (Mahogany Town), Ecruteak City (Cianwood City), Saffron City (Viridian City, Pewter City, Cerulean City, Cinnabar Island), and maybe more but thats all I see.

According to NSM standards, if there is an official release of a soundtrack, the title of an arrangement should use the name provided in the official soundtrack's track listing.
In the case here, there is no official OST release for the music of GSC. However, there is a release of the soundtrack of HGSS, its remake, which is about as close as you can get to having an OST release for GSC. Looking at the page here (http://vgmdb.net/album/15237), the HGSS Super Music Collection album lists track 22 "Kikyo City" (that is, "Violet City") as just that. No slashes, no alternate titles.
It may seem as if I'm contradicting myself now, as many of arrangements do indeed have slashes and alternate titles. This is because such arrangements are of music that have no official OST, so I have to rely on fanmade names. Such is the case of my Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue/Red Rescue Team arrangements.
Im not saying that the song has multiple names, just that the song is used for different cities. I was looking for the sheet music to play for Olivine City and I couldnt find it, and I had no idea that it was the same song as Violet City. The website does the same thing for Heartgold/Soulsilver "Route 47/48" or Diamond and Pearl's "Dialga/Palkia Appears", so I thought we could do it for these too. I think that would make more sense than have two seperate mus/midi/pdf things for the exact same file (except the name change)
Should we append "version" to the end of the main pokemon games? I think we should. It wouldn't be hard to do it either.
I agree. Version should have a capital "V" as well. :P

Doesn't that involve removing all the sheets currently listed under "Pokémon (something)" and make a new "Pokémon (something) Version" category, then re-upload all the sheets? I seem to recall that JaMaHa once said changing the name of games in the database was a really tedious affair.
Shoot, you're right. I only thought of the main game category-heading-thing.
As for changing the sheets as well.. That would be sweet, but everything in proper priorities I suppose..

Yes under the current system. I'm sure that it'll be easier when the new system is implemented.

I could do it in a few hours, I'd just need to have all of the MUS files in one folder.

Might actually take me a few days because I have to at least format each sheet.
In the mean time, how does everyone feel about these?:
Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow Version
Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal Version
Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald Version
Pokémon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum Version
Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen Version
Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Version
Pokémon Black and White Version
Pokémon Black and White Version 2
Game Freak, Nintendo, The Pokémon Company(with some exceptions) © [year]

Looks great, but what about those pieces that are exclusive to games like Crystal, Emerald, or Platinum? Ones that aren't featured in their "orthodox" counterparts.
(e.g. Battle Tower - Pokémon Crystal Version (http://www.ninsheetm.us/sheets/Pokemon/PokemonCrystal/BattleTower.pdf))
Maybe we make the categories as you suggested, but have a little something in parentheses?
So the example above would be under 'Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal Version', but after the title [of the song], would have "(Crystal Version)". Indicating that it's only found in Pokémon Crystal.
The sheet would have only Pokémon Crystal listed as the only game name, instead of all three.
Also, is Game Freak supposed to be listed as a copyright owner? I've always been confused by that. It seems like it should, but under "what should your sheet look like" (http://www.ninsheetm.us/smf/index.php?topic=481.0), it says only the publishers. Of which, Game Freak is not. So I've always gone directly by the rules and left it out.
I hate to add more to this, but I think all the battle themes should be lined up nicely. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that it's kind of annoying having to go down the list to who-knows-where to find a battle theme, when it would be nice if they all were lined up nice and neat.
My point is, while the sheets are being changed anyways, the title of each battle theme should be changed to: "Battle! (insert opponent)".
If we kept it like that, they would all be grouped together in alphabetical order, the way they are now.
It's not the most important thing, but I've sorta waited for the right time to bring it up. I think that time is now. While the sheets are already being modified anyways.
Don't get me wrong Shado, I'm extremely exited and grateful that this is actually happening, and I didn't mean to throw more on your plate; I just think this is the easiest time to do something like that.

I don't know if they should have their own category on the site, but definitely any song that only appears in one version will have that indicated on the sheet.
For the copyright information, I put Developer(s) and Publisher(s) in that order.
I'm going through each sheet and renaming them according to their respective soundtrack title according to vgmdb.net, so all battle themes will begin with "Battle!".
I've already downloaded each file and sorted them in folders.
I can't wait! Thanks shado!
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - "Lanayru's Mining Facility - Present" should just be "Lanayru Mining Facility - Present".
No possessive. Fortunately, the sheet is already correct so the on-site title is the only thing that has to be changed.
Winter: Fixed.
Final Fantasy: Crisis Core Should be Crisis Core- Final Fantasy VII.
The Final Battle in Final Fantasy IV should be called Zeromus.
The Last Battle in Final Fantasy V should be called The Final Battle or Neo Exdeath.
Will add more if I find any.
Super Mario -> Paper Mario
"Star Spirits' Request" is listed as "Star Sprits' Request"
Winter: Seriously dude... You have a good eye. Thanks. (Fixed.)
Under Super Smash Bros, "The Roost" (Two Pianos) magically moved itself from the Brawl section to the N64 section. It needs to be back with Brawl.
Winter: Fixed it! Dem sheets are messing with me.
http://www.ninsheetm.us/sheetmusic.php?series=Pokemon
There are two sections for Pokemon Black and White 2.
Winter: Apparently it was fixed or something, idk.
Yeah I'll get on that in a second here
23:34 < Otis> Hello - we are noticing that Buoy Base Galaxy has mistakenly been
placed in this database as "Buoy Base Underwater". So, Buoy Base
Underwater is in here twice, under both titles.
Someone (Olimar) who knows how to fix this, please do so.
Tis thread is no longer in use and has been moved HERE (http://www.ninsheetm.us/smf/index.php?topic=5416.msg201325#msg201325). Anything mentioned has been moved to the first post of that topic and has been neatly organized. I ask you to take a look at it, as I'm going to need some help with those topics. (I'll want your opinions on stuff mostly.)
Anything in this thread has either been mystically fixed by me in the last three hours, or moved to the new thread if it's a large issue.
I'm making a new one because I am going to get super organized and fix some major issues with the main site. (It'll be fun)
I'm not locking this topic, but I do ask that you please post any further comments in the new thread. If I missed anything, I do ask that you mention it in the new thread as well because I'd love to address it.
Thanks everyone for your help thus far! We've already made some great improvements :)
