Somewhere my mom got the idea that YouTube has lotsa viruses. Can you computer geniuses reply here saying that it doesn't? *My family and I aren't too bright when it comes to computers, as you can probably tell*
Youtube = probably one of the safest websites on the internet. You have a better chance of getting a virus from google. Not a searched page, the actual home page. (So that's like, 0.0000000000000000000001%?) Honestly, your family should feel ignorant for not knowing a legitimate website when they see one. Besides, there is no possible way to get viruses from anything unless you
(a) Install them yourself when trying to get illegal software or something stupid like "this website says you need so and so program to run such and such video/show pictures."
(b)Get attack cookiesT, which are rare and cost money to make, and only are on "attack" porno sites. If you have firefox, it already knows what these are and tells you if you are about to enter something with them.
TAlso, if you think any type of cookie is bad, then your retarded. Besides the type of cookie mentioned in (b), there is nothing bad with cookies, they might take up a little disk space if you never clean your computer though.

It's just a few VERY popular web sites (and some other cool features like google earth). Because of all the popularity their stocks go way up and now they are rich.
ive been using computers since my pentium 133mhz and I never got a single virus since then.
I have not had any viruses either. My computer was infected with spyware once but it got cleaned out.
Okay, part two: I'ma tryin to convince my mom *who woulda thought?* to let me get a camcorder to put stuff on YouTube. She's afraid that I'll somehow get hooked on inappropriate stuff *I'm sure most of you know what I mean* by doing that.
Viruses are only possible if you download something to your computer, and run it. Not through websites, unless you download something TO YOUR COMPUTER... not just by running it.
As for your mom thinking you'll start getting hooked to bad stuff... tell her you won't, and promise. :P
There is no way for her to be totally convinced so you'll, just as Dekudude said, have to promise and hope she beleives you. Plus there really no pornography on youtube anyway since all videos have to go through Youtube staff and be approved.
