This theme was tricky because of the range of all the midi. The bass, chords, and melody are all at least an octave apart at almost all times so I had to change some of their octaves. Plus, some of the piano midi plays out of an actual piano range... issue is, I don't know exactly what to do about that because moving it down an octave makes some of the lower notes of the arpeggios run into the chords... I dunno, maybe someone has one of those bigger pianos.

The Title Theme from Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes! I started doing Tri Force Heroes arrangements because I saw someone wanted a Title Theme arrangement. Though, I was too intimidated at that time to arrange it, because I figured it'd be the hardest one to arrange (and it was pretty difficult). I finally finished it, and I plan to do more Tri Force Heroes arrangements :)

Next up in the Tri Force Heroes train is Sky Realm. This is the piece that made me want to arrange Tri Force Heroes tracks in the first place. I love its use of the 11/8 time signature and how Ryo Nagamatsu adapts the Woodlands motif into it. The piece is difficult, however, since it requires a lot of 10ths. Though I do think this is very much playable, maybe at a slower tempo.

Taking a brief break from Tri Force Heroes to do some Super Mystery Dungeon tracks. Honestly I really just wanna arrange most (if not all) of the dungeon themes and this one seemed like a good place to start. The arrangement is quite heavy compared to the melody since the melodic instruments mostly have timbres that stick out. I tried to make the accompaniment a little lighter for the melody to stick through but doing this takes away some of the details. For a piano arrangement, it should sound just fine, but if you're familiar with the tune, you should be able to make the notes in the accompaniment stick out so it sounds more like the original (I can't notate all of that or it'll be a complete mess).

Alright so some people wanted me to do this one next. It's pretty straightforward except for the beginning and a bit of the end. All those marimba lines gets hard to keep track of and more sounds like a wall of sound if you notate it all (see the intro). In the actual music each marimba line is panned so that you can more easily hear them distinctly. But on the piano, it all blurs together and there's no distinct line. I decided to keep it that way for the beginning because that's the effect they were going for anyways. It definitely is playable but the performer can take more liberties to just create the wall of sound rather than accurate notes. I think I'll continue making dungeon arrangements, so tell me what ones you want to hear next!

ITS HERE BABY!!! I finally finished my favorite dungeon theme from PSMD and what is probably the hardest arrangement I've done. I'll likely polish it a little more before I get to submit it (in like what, 8 months? lol) but it's pretty quality as is. I had a streamer sight read it and give his thoughts, and his main point was that some of the 10ths I had in the left hand weren't necessary/playable (even though I could play most of them :p). I think the piece still has the overall effect without them, so it wasn't that big of a deal. I think I'll arrange one more from PSMD before going back to Tri Force Heroes, so let me know what dungeon theme you'd like to hear!

This track... took much longer than I was expecting. It's all themes that I've arranged before, so figuring out the melody wasn't really difficult, but they use different harmonies and accompaniment throughout the entire thing. Not only that, it's quite long and not much that I can copy and paste. I tried to shrink it down so it used less pages, and it ended up being 10 pages (for now). When it comes closer to submission time, I'll add in slurs and tweak things so it looks nicer, which will probably bring it to 11 pages (or more). It's finally here! Probably the hardest thing I've ever arranged. From the weird time signature stuff (how could 4/4 cause me such a headache D:) to trying to figure out rhythms and chords because this soundfont is hard to distinguish. I'm not entirely confident on the chords, but I really just needed to get this one finished and set aside. I am definitely looking forward to the inevitable discussions on how this should be notated (and how I likely have the wrong chords rip) in the near (?) future. Week 2 of Zelda Friday ;) This one always has had a strange nostalgic feeling to it, despite me never playing skyward sword or really listening to its ost. I think it reminds me of minecraft zelda mods and also that pokemon in minecraft project I worked on. This might be because the instruments used and the composition feel very pokemon-like (especially gen 7), which might also be why I like it so much.

Zelda Friday Week 3! This track is an arrangement of "Seal of the Seven Maidens" from A Link to the Past and honestly the context of it being a theme for hyrule fields makes it sound super epic and grand. It's a little hard to capture the energy when that's mostly through the percussion, but I think having that space in the middle of the measures actually captures the floaty feeling well while the tempo itself keeps the energy.

Zelda Friday Week 4! A lot of people talk about The Great Sea from Wind Waker, but I think the version in Phantom Hourglass is just as good. It's interesting to see the different direction they took the melody to make it feel more appropriate in a smaller world. I wanted it to still feel adventurous, so I focused on making the harmony more dense compared to the original's sparse harmonic density.

Zelda Friday Week 5! A nostalgic track for me, since this was my second zelda game. I love how they use the zelda main theme/title screen as an opening then in the B section. It's a strangely melancholic tune, which makes sense as it plays when link and zelda talk about what they'll do after everything's done.

Zelda Friday Week 7! I really like this version of Zelda's Lullaby, especially with the added section at the end. The intervals used in addition to the instrument used are very musically descriptive. Zelda Friday Week 8! This was one I wanted to do for a while, but I was always intimidated by trying to make it playable. As it turns out, it mostly is in a range that
is playable, though I'm not sure how comfortable it is. There's 4 voices, trumpet, french horn, trombone, and tuba. The trumpet and tuba are pretty easy to pick out, as they are at the extremities of the overall range. The french horn and trombone were more cumbersome as they often played in the same range, which usually means they both stick to the left hand. I tried balancing between hands while still making each voice clear; I may have to go through and change the octaves they play before submitting, though.

Zelda Friday Week 9! This is another track that I had arranged several years ago when first starting out, though I never notated it (not that it was a good arrangement lol). It's quite simple, though I was having trouble deciding whether or not to make the key change at the end when it goes through several keys. Since the Db was persistent, I though I'd add that to the key signature, but then I'd need to also include Ab. In the end I decided that having accidentals will just make things easier for the reader, as they won't have to think about what new flats are added.

Zelda Friday Week 10! I missed last week because I was moving and didn't have time to get to it, so to make up for it, I did two arrangements this week. First, I arranged Player Select: Zelda from Link's Awakening. Always loved the groovy themes from this game. Really it's just the main theme with a rhythmic accompaniment, but it really adds to the character. Also, the remake's version adds some great percussion and is fun to listen to.

Next up I have Papuchia Village from Spirit Tracks. This one is really simple and really relaxing. There were some parts later on that had a countermelody but I decided to not include it to keep with the simplicity (also I don't think it would've been comfortable to play). Honestly I kind of forgot this one existed until it showed up in my playlist, it can be pretty forgettable in my opinion.

Just doing a post saying that I've updated the OP's links and stuff and also I made a new video! I've decided that (outside of arrangement projects) I won't be making a new arrangement until Beach from Plok! is on the site (I've got plenty to go through lol).
I have made a new piano arrangement! Gonna do a few pokemon mystery dungeon dungeon themes and this is one I had started a while back but never finished. I tried including some of the rhythms from the percussion into the arrangement so it had the same energy, and I think it worked out well. It sounds super fun to play, but the 12/8 section might be a little difficult.

Finally got the energy (and time) to finish this one! I originally was making it more accurate to the original with the first section but it was just becoming the kind of thing that was not fun to play so I rewrote it to more emphasize the rhythm. I also tried to really do justice to the climax since that's obviously the best part and most fun to perform.

Woah, this is awesome! I love the StreetPass games, happy to see some arrangements for them!
So I recently finished playing Xenoblade Chronicles and this track has been stuck in my head ever since. I only cried once during the game, and it was during one of the scenes where this track plays (and it was about a character I didn't even care about 😭). There's a lot going on in this piece harmonically and melodically, but for the sake of it being a piano solo I took away some of the complexities as to not distract from the core emotion.

Surprise!! Another one. Agnus Colony is absolutely the most gorgeous town theme in all of Xenoblade. I'm so happy that all my favorite heroes are Agnian, it makes their quests and colonies feel so much more special with this music. Its incredibly lush and dense, so I tried capturing that but also pulling back in the more quiet moments. Really excited to play this one hehe

Fantastic arrangements here, Cash! Agnus Colony in particular clearly had a lot of care put into it--I always like how clearly your love for the pieces you're arranging shines through.
These two in particular are standouts in part because of how many people criticized the game for dispensing with the bombastic, hair-raising area themes from the earlier games in the series. I love these two pieces because of their quiet energy and how clearly they drove home that the more subdued character of the music was a conscious choice, not a result of the composers losing their touch. They never stopped bringing the A-game, it just looked a little different.

I didn't know people felt that way about 3's soundtrack, I think this game has my favorite area themes.
