Wow. The Dr. Mario theme is amazing. Really.

Looking at it, so is Bob-omb Battlefield. Great idea to incorporate the Opening theme into the arrangement as well. My only concern is the size of the arrangement. You'd need to have a magnifying glass to see the notes if you were to print the sheet on A4 paper. But I guess that can be edited by potential downloaders.

ok, so Ive FINALLY decided to show this to everybody....... ive been working on it for probably about 4 months....maybe longer......... NOT consecutevely..........ive worked the most over the summer.

Its a mix of Jungle Japes, Jungle Level 1 + 2(from SSBB, or Kongo Jungle N64 from SSBM)

this is my FIRST band arrangement that had been done COMPLETELY by ear. COMPLETELY. im very happy with it, but it can definitely use some working on :)

so what i would like from anyone, is suggestions of how to make it...."jazzier"....and ways to have the first part.....Jungle Japes...as close to the original as possible.... :) like NOTE wise, im happy with the rythms.....soo, ya, help and comments would be AwEsOmE. :)

p.s. YES i know there is no "solo" in it, but i would like to have one.....maybe at the part where it's JUST the drums playing, and have a like an optional sax/trumpet solo there........ but im not good with em, so any ideas on how to make it?

oh, dude, i have like all the parts already, cuz in Finale 2009 it automatically makes seperate parts. but i understand u dont have Finale 2009...... so im not sure how i can get the same results of the seperate parts so u can see em...

So, you cant just save them as individual parts and put them in a folder? Just to make this clearer, what i need is the individual parts (such as Alto Sax, Clarinet, Trombone, etc.) in a way so i can just print out a page that only has the Saxophone part, Clarinet part, Trombone part, etc. so that i can hand the appropriate amounts of sheet music and the score to my band director.

yes, i understand what you mean :)
and no, i cant just put em in seperate fodlers, sadly... so i will work on gettin them into seperate ones for you. but i am a busy guy so i will get them to you as soon as i can! :)

sadly, its gettin to the very end of marching season so idk how well they will work for this year...... i had songs ready and one printed out but i never got them copied for my band so we probably wont play them this year... :( i have to really work on concert band songs if i want to get mine in for this year (technically next year, but this school year).

Hmm... sorry to propose this again, after being shot down a few times, but if you send a nice little PM to JaMaHa, and ask for them to be uploaded to the NSM server (NOTE: Not uploaded to the site, just our server)? That way, the links won't expire before the rest of the site does. And it still wouldn't hurt our policy.

well, i use Mediafire for not only NSM, so having an account would make it easier with the other things i need it for. so, with the account i made, i'll just stick to using that and therefore my links wont become broken and my account for mediafire will have more then one use. and i wont have to bother JaMaHa... haha :p

Everytime I try to play the Dr. Mario theme, Finale says it has encountered an error and closes down. It is the only one that does that :P

Well, I can listen to it when its from the mediafire link, but as soon as I save it, it goes to the error screen :P Either way, it sounds good, and i don't really need to listen anymore. Will you be able to get the parts separated?

Gooch, instead of trying to save it form the link, try saving it when it's opened up in Finale?

I use Finale Reader for any file newer than '08, and you can't save files in Finale Reader with opened files. But, as previously stated, it isn't necessary to listen more than once. Im not in any other topics because these are the only topics I'm concerned with. Once Pep Band ends, then I'll piddle elsewhere. I don't have time to work on any arrangements, so, listening to other's music is my reason for coming to the forums.

Post by: Nana1Popo2 on January 10, 2011, 07:47:16 PM
Update!

I have had some time recently to work more on Jungle Mix, and decided to update

- Still working on modifying the Mortal Kombat piece.
- Updating Dr. Mario still; what is here has been updated but isn't complete
- Tweaked and fixed some parts in Jungle Mix (hooray!); also not 100% complete, but there is not a lot left at all, minor changes.

Thoughts on the updated? (namely Jungle Mix)

Is there going to be a MUS file available for the Jungle Mix?  All the ones I click on are MP3's.

Post by: Nana1Popo2 on July 24, 2011, 03:24:26 PM
Updated this song, hopefully for the last time? I need comments on it, please! Hopefully my marching band can play this as a stand tune this year! Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?

[GC] Super Smash Bros. Melee - "Dr. Mario (Fever)" - Nana1Popo2
MUS (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?rdc4vcupe21b7m5) MP3 (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?4qp68qenn8xjbu5)

- also, is there a way to make Rim clicks for Bass Drums? I know there is for a concert drum; but marching? The reason the clicks look weird now, is because i pasted what i had from Finale 2009.. just to get the playback.

Wow! i have a bad habit of not posting on here for a long time... but I enjoy all of your thoughts as fellow musicians!!

Recently I took on the task of arranging a Zelda medley to play at my last spring concert by request of my director. So, I did.. finally, and through many long hours of working on it, I completed it, and we actually played it at the concert (which was last thursday)! This was the first time our band has performed an arranged piece! So, I was pretty happy.... haha. So here is the MP3 of the arrangement, as well as the performance of us at the concert! (I am the one conducting) Also, keep in mind we only worked on this piece for about 2 weeks; so it isn't necessarily perfect, but, it was actually one of our better runthroughs (like the beginning.. is a little shaky)

MUS (http://www.mediafire.com/?pg0di8aau6e0yud) MP3 (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?8dbbjqydh2ng25a) Concert Performance (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUkOFIL1fFI) (I edited the Youtube video, so the beginning may seem boring to listen to, so feel free to skip ahead to the actual playing)

You might notice that a lot of the selections from my arrangement follow the "Wind Waker Symphonic Movement" by the Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony. :)

Thoughts? Comments? Reactions?

I absolutely enjoyed that arrangement and would love to play it myself.  When you said a lot followed the Symphonic movement version, I didn't know that meant pretty much all of it, but that's a good thing.  The only critiques I have are probably due to your band.  First and foremost, there's no bassoon part.  However, you have no bassoon player so it's all good.  Also, being a French Horn player, I noticed the horn part wasn't represented quite as well as the symphonic movement version, particularly at 75-84 and various sections of Outset Island.  That being said, your horn section may be rather weak and thus couldn't handle such difficult parts.  Overall it was excellent and I look forward to hearing your future arrangements.

Also, if you wouldn't mind, please check out my arrangement of S.S. Anne for Horn Trio.  It was done on notepad so it doesn't follow coda patterns but they are written in.  http://www.ninsheetm.us/smf/index.php?topic=4222.msg139630#msg139630

Thank you! Yeah, it was a good majority. haha. and yes, unfortunately our horn section isnt very strong. which. is very sad. so, ignore that. (even though parts were fairly... straightforward?) but thank you for the criticism!

And i would like to check out your arrangement, but the links have been outtdated. If you use mediafire, i reccomend getting a free account and uploading your work. therefore, files wont be deleted over time! :)
