Title: Great Games to look out for.
Post by: Zintendo on September 28, 2009, 07:00:25 PM
DS
Golden Sun DS has been anounced.
Kingdom Hearts 358 looks like the best game graphicwise ever for DS
I don't even have to mention Spirit Tracks
Wii
Modern Warfare does not comes out Nov. 10th.
Both No More Heroes2 and Some Metroid Prime game Have been announced

If you don't have Homebrew yet, get it.  I saw No country for old men yesterday, it blew my mind away.
And if you doubt the awesomesauce of the DSi, don't.  I was skeptical at first too, but wow the big screens should be enough to change your mind.  fantastic sound quality, its built for bigger hands so its easy on the thumbs, and I have'nt even started on all the new features.  Flipnotes fun as hell.

I don't care if you hate me, please comment on what I write above, not the past.  Please?  Let me know of any games TBA that I have not mentioned that are worth mentioning.

Of course you aren't mentioning Spirit Tracks because it will be shittier than Phantom Hourglass.

And is still unofficial and in the very, very distant future so we shouldn't really talk about it yet.

The first game was mediocre, and this is just copypasta.  Doesn't look promising.

Ohhh^^ Well, I enjoyed playing the first game, so I think the second won't be too disappointing.

I enjoyed the 1st one, but it wasnt very challenging. Pretty easy game.
Im not sure yet if im going to buy the 2nd... I think that Kefka is right. SMG2 is a copypaste from the 1st game, except the fact that the game includes some new (not so exciting) stuff. SMG2 is a game for those SMG fanatics (Sorry Dahans :P). I mean, why the fuck do I want Yoshi? Just a nerdy thing..

Absolutely excellent. Not as good as Superstar Saga, but the gameplay is supurb, and the writing for Bowser, Fawful, and Luigi is simply epic. My only complaints are that the enemies get a little repetive and the Mario/Luigi stages seem like side quests to the Bowser story. Other than that, it's perfect. 9/10, in my opinion.

Yoshi is annoying in 3D games. I freaked out in some parts of Super Mario sunshine. He's stupid, annoying, never shut up and he's always asking for food. And most of the time is horrible to control it. For God sake!
Yoshi's Story is also an annoying game. The stupid music that they sing just dont come out of my head!

Post by: ALPRAS on October 05, 2009, 06:10:40 AM
I like Tennis, but it doesnt "fit" well in Super Mario style. I still prefer Wii sports lool

I dont have plans for the future... There's no games like in the past. Most of them are just sequels, and mostly arent fun anymore. They're just graphics, one or two innovations in the gameplay (they say that its incredibly awesome in some games, but most of them are just total shit) and a story that incredibly sucks (like Super mario, with the same story since he exists lol) or its too complex to be understandable, like Half-Life (which is good in this case).
I think Ill wait for Half-Life: Episode 3 or Portal 2...

I don't see how this can be perceived as a negative feature at all. For a "hardcore" gamer, it won't detract anything from the game, considering they'd be unlikely to use it. The only thing it adds is a built-in guide for less experienced gamer: say the game owner's younger brother, or friends who aren't into video games. Besides, the fact that they're even including it seems to foreshadow that this game will be much more difficult than it's predecessor. Which is a good thing.

(Also, I watched the video that came right after that one: http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/playback/playback-87/1366377 (http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/playback/playback-87/1366377). It made me laugh. Nowhere in the University's research did they actually prove that video games caused ADD. They just insisted that there was a correlation between it and playing video games (the point I'm making is this: they can't be sure that these people who play video games didn't already have ADD.))

But what happened to the good old days when you had to do it all on your own. I didn't have a bui't-in guide for my games as a young, inexperienced gamer. Why should they get pirks?

I agree with you, it probably won't change anything for me if I buy it, but I don't agree on the fact that it may means that the game might be harder. Actually, I'm pretty sure that this feature is only to have more people buy their games/consoles. Imho, the game will surely be like every single game that came out for the Wii : pretty damn easy.

And as SFK said, when we were young, we had to play the game all by ourselves. When I was a kid, playing the first Final Fantasy on the NES, I had to wander everywhere till I found out what to do next. (The fact that I didn't understand english at that time didn't help, but it doesn't matter). That's kinda like the Hints thing they want to had in the next Zelda game. It's just going to ruin those games.

MadWorld is along with The Conduit the most overhyped third-party game that actually suck. MadWorld bored the hell out of me within an hour; even Hamsterz is less repetitive than that.

I'm not sure why all the hardcore gamers are making such a fuss about the Super Guide. Are you afraid of your dignity as a gamer compared to casual gamers? Do you really think your possibility to prove yourself in gaming is at a loss now? First, you don't HAVE to use those buttons and get help if you have died. Just ignore them and try it yourself; but don't go ridicule your younger sister when she has to use the Super Guide at the end of world 8. Second, there probably will be those big coins, like in the DS iteration. The Super Guide does not guide players towards those coins, so another way to prove yourself as a hardcore gamer.

Casual gamers who use the Super Guide are (often) all about finishing the game, watching the credits and putting it back on the shelf; the hardcore group will try to grab all the extra's and don't mind dying or replaying the entire game. So, it are two different levels of perceptions on gaming.

Hm, maybe Sin & Punishment 2 (Wii) is a game to look forward to. The E3 demo was very promising and the Japanese version has been released a few days ago *anxiously waiting*. Another interesting game for Wii is Muramasa: The Demon Blade. Taking the similarities with Odin Sphere, its spiritual predecessor, into account, it is an enormous improvement. But I heard it has already been launched in the US, so this second mention is aimed at the European gamers.

Due to lack of time, I have played New Super Mario Bros. Wii only for a mere hour (World 1, that is), and it's really good. Nintendo did not a lazy job on it, but there are various nifty details that made me as a Mario-fan really happy. I won't spoil it here, just play the game and enjoy the pretty moments.

Also, it's "rabbids", not "rabbits". Major difference: I like rabbits, I hate rabbids.

Started a bit with Modern Warfare 2 yesterday (the game was really for two weeks, wrapped in plastic on my desk), and I find the campaign modus rather dull compared to the first Modern Warfare. Special-ops is brilliant though.

I, personally, adored Modern Warfare 2 :) I'm in the final Ranger mission for my Veteran Campaign (my first I've ever completed) and have really enjoyed both playthroughs, even though the second was less exciting than the first, with all of the little surprises already spoiled. However, I do agree. The campaign is around the same level as the first Modern Warfare, but the Special Ops and Multiplayer are quite simply what was focused on. Either way, I wholeheartedly anticipate the next Modern Warfare. I've just recently seen NSMBW ads, and was skeptical about whether or not to buy it. I suppose I'll base my decision around the comments posted here.

Why did Blizzard forget about the games that made them awesome and ditch them for WoW? I've had to wait 8 years for the Diablo 3 release. Same with Starcraft. I want it now.

The ironic thing about Diablo is that no one is able to tell me why it's so great. When I asked Brian Crecente (Kotaku) why I should play Diablo 3, he said "Because it's Diablo", like everyone else said.

Well Diablo II was damn good, so Blizzard don't really have a choice to try and make Diablo III even more awesome. At least it's a reason that makes me want to play it. Can't say it's gonna be epic, but I don't think it can be a bad game.

But as "Because it's Diablo" is not a valid argument, it appears no one is able to pinpoint why the Diablo-games are so good (I never played one).

Also, Demon's Souls appears to be awesome.

By the way, I haven't played one either.  But my dad used to play it all the time online with my uncle.

Well I don't know how to put it logically either. Its just one of those games that you can't describe why it's amazing. It just is.  I could try to tel you why its awesome, but I would fail. You just can't help but love this game, though you might not be able to give an explanation. If you play Diablo II you might see what I mean. So play it. Now.

But kirby, did you see the graphics for that?  While I do love Diablo II to death, the Third looks like World of Warcraft.  I wouldn't care, but my computer won't be able to process it, so no D3 for me...  :'(

Get a new computer.  If you can't handle WoW, then you have no excuse for not having a newer computer.  It would barely cost anything for one that can handle basic gaming.

My computer is from 2000. You know, back when 512mb of ram was considered to be high speed. My dad keeps comlaining about how bad our computer is and I show him great computers for great prices but he won't budge. This piece of crap is getting worse and worse every day. But some how it can still run Audio Surf with little lag. But as soon as I get a new computer I'm going to upgrade the GPU and probably the ram since we'll end up getting a low budget computer. Then I shall be able to play the fun pc games. MWAHAHAHAHA.

Monster Hunter III is stupid.  All you do is make weapons, kill dinosaurs and pink-butted monkeys, plant vegetables (eww) and make this deal with a cat that betrays you.   Oh did I mention - I don't like video games in general, so don't trust me.

Annoying, spammy, not very intelligent, unliterate. (do you see my cleverness?)

Anyways... back on topic.

E3 is coming next month so then there'll be some inside on new games. Which will be good. Hopefully a new Zelda will be announced. Or something of equal or greater awesomeness.
