Finale 2010 is a good Composing program, but I don't see where the rests are?

you have to go to Window>Simple Entry Rests Palette... if you just got the program, you have to re-open the palettes and move it to your liking

You click on the note that has the value of the rest you want. Place it in. Then click R.
