Does anyone here besides me do rubik's cube? I am still very slow at it, with my fastest time being only 1 minute 58 seconds. Post any thoughts/times about rubik's cube here. And i'm not sure if i'm posting this in the right spot
My best time is ten years and counting. ;D
I have a Rubik's Cube somewhere, and I have no idea where it is. It looks like a normal Rubik's Cube, meaning that it is nowhere near being completed. ;)

What he said. I finished one side once....
I have one i .... in my room... in a box... maybe the closet ....
anyways i nveer really played with it too much, I should get a new one
I have one of the triangles that are just like the rubics cube, I finishe that thign in about a minute
Omg one of my friends can solve rubix cubes (PLURAL) in like 2 min. Its insane. He gives them to people to mix up as best as they can, and then he solves it in under a minute.

me too i have a friend just like that! and he taught me how to do it so i can do one in just over a minute. he also has the super 10x10 square cube... and he can solve that in a minute and a half. it's insane...
Only 10:58?? I have one and have never gotten anywhere close to solving it.
Here are some funny ones. ;D

(You might want to listen to your own music while watching. ;D)
i'ved tried to solve these before... and i've failed -_-
there's various patterns and combinations that you can try and such and if you learn those you can solve a rubex cube no matter how messed up the squares are...
I used to be good at them but only after I looked up how to solve them. It makes me wanna go back and figure it out the right way. Then I could be like, "In your face rubik's cube solving 3 year old!" >:(
Yesterday, I reached a new personal record of 1 min 32 sec. Right now, I am trying to learn more algorithms and finger tricks so that i can get under a minute.
oh yeah... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CruqZhN_5D8&feature=related)
edit: nevermind, i think it was done by a computer
i had a friend who would stare at a messed rubix cube for lkike 10 seconds (literally) and solve it under a minute
me
i can only silve one side :-[
I try for like 5 minutes and then I'm bored....
It's really hard!
It's not that hard to learn it. just go to rubiks.com and watch the tyson mao video under rubik's academy. It's really easy to learn.
lol thats no fun!
I try to figure it out on my own
I can solve them, but I'm pretty slow.
my best time is 2 min 22 sec
I've never goten more than two sides done. I'm horible with a rubix cube. :P
W00t! Just got my Rubik's Revenge 4x4 cube today! I'm learning to solve it, and i found out that once you solve the centers and edge pairs, you can solve it the same as a 3x3, except you can get this thing called parody, but i'm not sure what that is just yet...
2 people in my school can solve it less than a minute! :o I have NO IDEA how they do it.
I can now finally solve the Rubik's Revenge 4x4 cube! W00t! I just have to look at my cheat sheet to see the parity algorithms, because they are immensly long! Here they are, there are four of them:
2U*, 2L*, 2U, 2l, 2U, 2L*, 2U*, R, U', L, 2U, R', U, R, L', U', L, 2U, R', U, L', U
2R*, 2B, 2U, L*, 2U, R'*, 2U, R*, 2U, 2F, R*, 2F, L'*, 2B, 2R*
2r, 2U, 2r, 2U*, 2r, 2u
2U*, 2L*, 2U, 2l, 2U, 2L*, 2U* F', U', F, U, F, R', 2F, U, F, U, F', U', F, R
Imagine trying to memorize those algorithms... anyway, if anyone can do the rubik's revenge 4x4 cube too, just post your time here. My best time is between 5-10 minutes... lol
omg more rubiks cube solvers! :o it's a fad at school and theres an insane amount of ppl who can solve one in less than a minute. I have one, but it's been lost in my closet for...1,2,3...8 years now

The rubiks cube was all the rage during the Christmas season at my school. I never really got into it, though.
Quote from: chipmunk884 on May 07, 2008, 04:19:42 AMImagine trying to memorize those algorithms...
i'm having a hard time understanding what they mean lol..
Each letter and symbol represents something. The uppercase letters are the outer faces, and the lowercase the inner ones. If it has a ' next to it, it is counterclockwise and if it has a * next to it, it means turn two faces. Finally, if it has a 2 in front of it, it means turn it twice.
lol my cousin can solve the 4X4, but it takes him like half an hour to do it, and it also took him like a week or so to memorize the algorithms.
Since my birthday is coming up, i'm going to be getting the 2x2 and 5x5 cube, so in total i'll have the 2x2,3x3,4x4, and 5x5!
??? Theres a 2X2. wouldnt that be pretty easy?
if you figure out the 5X5, would you make a video and show me how?
my friend can do it under a minute!
BEAST!
pseudo, there are already plenty of 5x5 video tutorials on youtube. so search 5x5 cube on youtube.
ok, i did... thos people are pretty amazing
My times on 3x3 are usually around 1:30. I also have a 4x4 and a 2x2. Oh, and the 2x2 isn't as easy as you would think.
My new cubes just arrived today, so now i have a 2x2, 3x3 4x4, and 5x5. I can do the 2x2 in 25 seconds, 3x3 in 1 minute, and 4x4 in 5 minutes.
yeah, i can solve a rubik's cube too(i do it in between the comercals wen im wachin tv then my brother mixes it up during the show) but what i want to do is solve the 4x4 cube! where would i get one of these???

sry, idont know where to get one, but i do know that theres alot of steps to finish it, i think theres something like 36 steps to solve it.
oh, and i can solve the 3X3 in about
1:45 *Edit* ive now got my time to about 1:10

oh, well
now i can solve a 4x4x4... but i had 2 order the actual cube online
(i f-in' hate those parity Algorithms!!)
does anybody know the world record for fastest rubix cube solve? (of a 3X3)
I just want to destroy these evil things
destroy them if you will acropol, but one guy can solve it in 8.72 seconds, thats the world record
woah, try this- its a new algorithm i discovered
take the rubix cube, and whatever side is on top, rotate it once clockwise, and the the left side away from you or towards you twice(it doesnt matter) repeat this 30 times (yes, literally 30 times) and the cube should be in its original state
Um... do you know notation... or any general rubik's cube theory? any set of moves repeated a certain number of times will return it to it's original state
R, U, R', U = 5
R', B', R, B = 6
U = 4
Quote from: PseudoMario16 on July 11, 2008, 07:28:25 PMdestroy them if you will acropol, but one guy can solve it in 8.72 seconds, thats the world record
and no. It's 7.08 seconds by Erik Akkersdijk
Anyway...
QuoteI'm getting into speedcubing, and I was wondering which one to get: a DIY 3x3x3, or an eastsheen 3x3x3. Also, where do I find them? I can't find them anywheres.
i know notation, but i dont care much for the theory,
oh, and i read on rubiks.com that the record was 8.72 seconds and that was like two weeks ago, so it might have changed, but i didnt know if it did or not...
I am able to finish one side with one row done.
I can also put all colors on a different middle if it's done.
My record for a 3x3 is 1:29, but I usally get around 1:45 if I don't really try that hard
YYYAAAAYYY i learned the 4X4!!! (but it takes me like 15 minutes to do it...)
really I want a 4x4!!
Quote from: PseudoMario16 on August 04, 2008, 03:43:56 PMYYYAAAAYYY i learned the 4X4!!! (but it takes me like 15 minutes to do it...)
do u use the parody rythmes? if so, dont they suck? i hate them...

yeah, the parity algorithms suck, cuz there so frieken l o n g.... i wish there was some way to solve the parity cases faster...
i finnaly got 36 seconds on a 3x3!!! ;D
I usually get just under a minute, but my best time is 35 secs. And I'm learning Fridrich
i just got a 5x5 it is evil, worse than a 4x4 haha
My best time for 5x5x5 is 7:59... I think... Oh well. Does anyone know an algorithm that rotates JUST THE CENTER PIECE 90 degrees?
