I am personally terrified of insects and spiders as well as going to parties.
Slow you stole mine.
Both of mine.
Wow ok.

FUUUUUUUUUCK
I learned a new word today.
Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia.
Also, insects petrify me. Except spiders and fruit flies. They're cool.
Lol if I remember correctly, thats the fear of long words? I've seen it before
1. I HATE being in open open water. If I can't see land in any directions, I will just panic and probably drown. :(
2. Things Animals that are bigger than me. They scare the heck out of me.
EDIT: Hmm, I said that wrong.
I'm afraid of fear itself.
FDR Follower, eh?
I'm a huge history geek.
I have a slight fear of the dark. (inb4 a ninja who's afraid of the dark)
it's not huge enough that I just won't go into the dark, but occasionally i'll turn on the lights to the main hallway on my trips to the kitchen and i'll walk up the stairs faster than usual because i'll think something's following me.

FUUUUUUUUUCK
You and I both KefkaticFanatic. :S
Needles. Dear god.
Also, the dark... a bit of heights... closed spaces.
But seriously, I'm afraid of falling. God, you don't know how many times I've woken up because I hit the ground.
I realized just now I'm also terrified of the truth. The truth really does hurt, and I try to trick myself into believing it's not the truth...but it always is...
Acrophobia. 'Nuff said.
Everything on this page describes me. :( (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000957.htm)

^This. EXACTLY this.
Wow, just found out about this topic after writing a post about my sister's phobia xD
I have a fear of heights, that's for sure. I could be 3 feet off the ground, and I'll still be like FUCK.
My sister has a fear of insects, but our family didn't see it get so bad until today.
My mom has a fear of snakes.
My dad.... idk, the only time I've ever heard him scream is when a dragonfly came into our house and sorta flew into his face. :P I will savor that sound forever xD
Savor? That's a little much.
xD That's how weird it was though that I would use "savor" :P
Bugs.
To quote some random guy on the internet:
<mike> i'm not afraid of heights.. i could look up at them all day
<mike> it's depths that get to me
I get vertigo from both -.-

For me I alternate between doing that and... meh, embracing isn't the word.
I sometimes act afraid of the dark but when I'm in the dark, I don't mind it as much.
Arachnophobia.
OH. And the only reason I couldn't like the intro to Ponyo was because of Cnidarophobia!
Well, that's not a real word, but Jellyfish Phobia isn't descriptive enough.
I get freaked out at the sight of anything even closely related to Jellyfish, i.e. in the Cnidarian family.
Silly Jub everyone loves tentacles sea creatures
Arachnophobia, aquaphobia (specifically, drowning), fear of the dark, and a little acrophobia.
Everything
The dark. It's scary okay.
Also just the general future scares me. Seriously. I hate thinking about it. Kefka can vouch for this 'cause of a conversation we had yesterday. :P

Why is that "shit" in public?
Oh right, forgot commitmentphobia last time I posted.
Quote from: Roz~ on August 01, 2011, 06:30:33 AMOh right, forgot commitmentphobia last time I posted.
I kinda have that too...just a bit...
Mostly a fear of social situations and insects though.
Oh my god. I was outside. Cause my family was forcing me to be outside with them. Despite the fact that I'm not sporty at all. And because of that will mostly always be scrawny :( Urrgh. Hate that. But anyway. Looked down cause I felt a stinging on my foot. There was a fucking tick on there.
URHUHGUIRHGUIHREIGJIPEJ{OAWKD{LPESJGFOJSRGPSEFPKDSPSDPFSD THEY'RE SO TERRIFYING
I have such a huge fear of bugs oh my god D:
I almost ate a bug last friday. It was in my bag of chips, i put it up to my mouth before seeing the black beetle in the corner of my eye. Freaky.
DON'T YOU GUYS HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE THINK YOU'RE WIMPY OR STUPID FOR BEING AFRAID OF BUGS. SERIOUSLY.
If I'm wimpy at least blame it on my scrawny physique or something that makes sense. But a phobia of bugs?
They're so....freaaaaky and stuff... ugh
I love how everyone is super afraid of wasps and bees.
This little girl shouted at me "Are you crazy?!" when I attempted to scare a wasp away. XD
Oh c'mon, ninja'd by a comment that would make my post seem like trolling. -.-
No, it's not wimpy.
I HATE BEES OH MY GOD ;_____; wehhhh gosh they freak me out. I've never been stung, though.
Seeing a bee is like this:
"Wild bee/wasp/hornet appeared!"
"Nebbles fled from battle!"
I've been stung by a bee once. :-\ it's not horrible, just made me feel a little dizzy later on. It's not the sting I'm scared of, I'm not scared of needles or anything--it's their gross disgusting bodies. They are horrifying okay.
Well, I also don't like needles. And yes, bugs are disgusting. Except butterflies and ladybugs. I like them.
Ew butterflies and ladybugs are creepy. D: Sariously.
All this talk of bugs reminds me of how Misty had a phobia of bugs.
She would be hatin on Shedinja.
Anyhow I can beat all of you. I was stung on the F***ING EYELID. At 7 years old I have never felt so humiliated everytime I stepped out in public. Kids would point and laugh :'( lol
Irrational fear time.
I'm afraid of jumping down from somewhere and slipping which makes me fall backwards and crack my head open on the floor/thing I jumped off of. oh, and bridges. Absolutely terrified of them. I always imagine when we're in the middle of the bridge, it's going to collapse and we don't get out of the car quick enough.
and cotton balls. Not exactly afraid of them but the when you squeeze it and it makes this awful feeling... I don't think I'm explaining it well enough for others to get it though.
I would like to bring this topic back from the dead.
My real life phobias/phobias that could happen in real life.
1. Claustrophobia. I'm highly claustrophobic.....except for Elevators. The ONLY tight space I don't mind.
Just imagine being buried.....ALIVE!
2. Bees, wasps, hornets etc. My greatest nightmare is getting killed/stung to death by bees.
3. Snakes. I hate snakes. They creep me way out.
4. Blood. Probably my worst fear is blood. Not blood itself, but bleeding to death or getting stabbed/shot/ etc.....
5. Drowning.
6. Dying alone
Here is my list of fictional phobias (things that couldn't happen).
1. Zombies. I'm actually pretty afraid of zombies.....if they were real. Especially the ones from World War Z.....
2. The Borg (http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121021135910/memoryalpha/en/images/5/58/Borg_aboard_Enterprise_(NX-01).jpg). A fictional enemy much like zombies, but 10 times scarier.
3. Switching bodies with someone else. This is another great nightmare of mine.
Hope you enjoyed :P
I have triphobia and that's pretty much it. Oh and also drowning; I can't swim.
What's triphobia?
Mine: Burning to death. And yes, even more so, dying alone. Less importantly, losing my 3DS/games with my 2,300 Pokemon, some of which I've had for 10+ years.
Quote from: mariolegofan on March 21, 2015, 08:49:12 PM3. Switching bodies with someone else. This is another great nightmare of mine.
This actually sounds like fun to me!
Anything involving my back or spine, holy christ. I've already decided to not have biological children (the birth painkiller is injected through your spine) and spinal taps are literally my worst nightmare. This is all either very ironic or stemmed from the fact that I have scoliosis >.>
Once one of my teachers was talking about her time in the hospital and how she had to have daily spinal taps and I actually almost passed out right there in class

By the way we had this phobia talk in the rant thread a few weeks ago lol.
nah i'm pretty sure he's scared of threesomes
Braixen, are you scared of threesomes?
For me, I wouldn't call them phobias, rather severe aversions. Heights and falling freak me out a bit, but not cripplingly, just kinda nervous. Crowds and loud noises make me incredibly uncomfortable, basically I'd start having a panic attack if I were to spend too much time in a club.
I do have one actual phobia, pain. I. DO NOT. CAN NOT! Handle the sight, or even thought, of pain. I don't mean emotional, that can be fun to watch *grins evilly*, I mean cutting, breaking, stabbing, and good lord I'm cringing just typing this! I just...if I can visualize it happening to me, I freak out.
I've always had this fear of dying in a volcano/lava.
Also, having anything being located too close to my throat. Even things like scarves. I guess it's like a combination of the fear of being choked and the somewhat rational fear of having your throat slit open.
A massive fucking case of dermatopathophobia and trypophobia
I think I don't have any real phobias. I'm usually just scared for stuff. Like I hate spiders but I don't mind seeing them on a screen. Maybe I'm a bit claustrophobic.
wait i actually am deathly afraid of death (no pun intended) and everything that's got something to do with it.

Most of the phobias I've had were temporary, not really sure how I got over them so easily. I have a fear of adequately performing in social situations, but that's not really a phobia.
So you're an introvert, or you have social anxiety? The majority of the population today feels ya.
I love people and I love affection, so the latter I guess.
I've always had a fear of drowning and therefore I'm afraid of going underwater :/ which means no swimming for me...
I also have a fear of dying in a horrible way... Like in a car accident or falling off a cliff or something... i.e. in a situation that would cause a lot of pain right before I die.
So I guess you have hydrophobia.
I have a fear of dying in a horrible way too. I think everyone does, unless you're like a masochist or something. I'm really scared of being stabbed to death. That's scary af. D;

I don't go underwater for more than 5 seconds. My fear of drowning is way up there. As for a painful death.....that too.
These are the worst deaths I can think of:
Please don't open if you don't want to know
Being sawed in half from the bottom up hanging by your feet. This was a sort of capital punishment way back when.

Yeah, I was reading about crucifixion and it often times took days for people to die! Oddly though, Jesus was on the cross for only 6 hours before he died (if you believe the Bible that is).

Actully they were about to break his legs when they realized he was already dead (via the "spear in the side" test) and at that point they didn't bother and just took him down.
As for my personal fear, I can't say I really have any but when I was young I used to have this thing about jungles. That was a fear.
But currently the only thing that can happen to me is after I watch a thriller/horror movie or happy tree friends I start to feel really delicate and like anything could kill me or maim me.
My big fear is Astraphobia (fear of thunderstorms/Lighting), it's kind of scary that it can instantly hit you and kill you. Actually after reading some facts, getting hit is nearly impossible and if you get hit you got high chance of surviving. But I'm still afraid, even though it's getting better. However I'm only scarred if the thunderstorm is close to me, not if I see it in movies, paintings, games etc. in those cases I can find it beautiful/cool or whatever. Probably because it can't kill me then. It's kind of annoying also since I get a bit afraid if it rains too, because then it can be only a matter of time before the lighting comes.
I'm also afraid of tropical deseases and animals/bugs etc. It just creeps me out the thought of traveling to some tropical country, and then getting bitten/stung whatever by something and then receiving some weird tropical decease to carry for rest of your life, or getting stung by lets say a jellyfish and exhausting some intense pain. But I have no interest of traveling, and especially far away so I fine, it's not a big deal.
Concerning Bugs: I don't fear them, but more dislike/hate them(they and thunder kind of ruins summer in my opinion, and is why I prefer the other seasons). Especially flying bugs that just fly all over the place and annoy you.. taking a walk in the forest.. aah it's so peaceful, and suddenly bzzzzzzrrrereere "arghh you f***!!"
Spiders: Same as, the ones I happen to see at my home are quite big:
Spoiler
http://smultronets.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/husspindel.jpg
, sure they are disgusting but it's just to take something like a shoe and smack them to death, and problems gone.
Heights: Not afraid of at all especially if there are fences/walls or other stuff, maybe if you look down, but why do that if you're afraid of it?
Kind of afraid of Global warming to because that means more thunderstorms and warmer climate means that diseases spread easier, and maybe weird bugs, so global warming is just bad.
I'm afraid of that brain eating fungus in ants and other insects. The one that controls their minds and makes them climb up to a high place and then kills them while they're there, grows out of their head and releases spores to infect more insects around. I know it most likely won't happen to humans, and if it did, we would probably be able to figure it out and counteract it before it infected too many, but I still get jittery whenever I think about it.
I'm afraid of the inside of my bellybutton. Not bellybuttons in general, just the inside of my own. What's in there???
edit: apparently I already ranted about spines in this topic lmao
Not sure if I said it before, but I met someone who was absolutely terrified of walnuts. He had recurring nightmares involving them.
My friend hates squirrels with a passion. Whenever anyone says that they like squirrels, she says this "You're just mistaking your inner hatred for squirrels for liking them." I don't know why.
Squirrels are a freaking abomination
