Title: The NSM Community Orchestra Project!
Post by: MaestroUGC on May 04, 2012, 01:18:42 PM
Summer is right around the corner, and I had an idea for the community here.

We get as many people we can muster to join together to perform a piece that will be a testament to both the website as well as the fantastic talent that comes through these doors. I'm not talking about us all learning one piece to play in unison, nor am I talking about some sort of medley that this site already organizes; I'm talking about a piece, a single arrangement or medley, in which we have 10, 15, 20 pianists each playing a part unique to them! And why stop there? We could even extend this to our other instrumentalists, make this one fantastic event in which we can all participate.

Granted, we'd need someone to arrange all of this, figure out some rehearsal times, and find a way to put this all of this, but I think we could get this done before school starts back up in August. I am aware that some of us will be in school during this period, including myself; but what's the point of music if not to try something ambitious.

So, what do you say? Ideas, comments, concerns, criticisms?

Something like this?

This sounds like it would need some video editing skill to get together correctly. But it could be quite awesome.

Now introducing --- the NSM Symphonic Ensemble!

I could provide multitrack male choral voices. I have a 2 & 1/2 octave range, so I can cover all the parts from C2 to A5.

I'm good with muscle memory in regards to the piano, and I just got back from a chorus concert (my solo was pretty good.)

If we can avtually gather an orchestra, that would be awesome, and a choir to boot. But it seems we have 3 vocalists (all men, including myself). If we could get another...3-4 men who can hold their own, we could try to work for a men's chorus thing. But for now, I just want to see who'd like to take part in this, both pianists and instrumentalists.

I'm thinking we should have a small group of our stronger players (6-8,9 years playing) to at least make up the central core of this ensemble, with them handling the peculiar bits like tempo changes and they'd actually play throughout. The rest will be given parts based on their skill level, with any other instrumentalists being used where they will fit best.

Good, very good. I'm glad to see you'd like to do this. Very well then, I say we have enough musicians, mainly pianists, to start taking this simple notion foward.

First start, what would the music selection be? I'd personally prefer something of a "VG Greatest Hits" type medley that strings together some of VG music's more popular and well known pieces. Mainly the standards like the SMB Overworld, LoZ Overworld, Tetris, and the like, along with some other popular music but not quite as performed.

About years of playing and piano level, I've been playing for a little over 8 years.
Recent repertoire: This Beethoven song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55JZxFwk5hI) and that one Rachmaninoff song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-qwJoFQ3qo).
Recordings of random people playing these songs.

Put up a poll, pick any of the franchises you'd like to see done. After a while, which ever shows more of a desire to be performed will be done.

Also, make a post stating if you wish to participate and state the instrument(s) you plan to play in bold.

If piano, please state the most recent piece you performed so I can get an idea of your skill level. And I mean performed for an audience of some kind, be it a recital, close friends and family, or even YouTube; if you have a video it will be much appreciated. If another instrument, same thing, but I'd prefer a symphonic selection if possible.

The most recent piece performed was "O Say Can Yoshi" by Karl Harmdierks.

That was performed about four months ago.

I will have a video of my next recital in a few weeks.

Maestro, if we do this, when we decide on a franchise, we have to do a medley.  All of these franchises are old enough and the music is so broad in scope that it should all be brought together.  A simple Mario one might be:

Overworld (SMB)
Peach's Castle (SM64)
Castle (NSMBW)
Final Bowser (NSMBW)
Staff Roll (SM64)

How long would this be?  5 minutes?  15?  20?
Title: Re: Pianists of NSM, Unite!
Post by: MaestroUGC on May 07, 2012, 06:43:55 PM
Depending on both the amount of people to take part and the franchise choice will affect the length; meaning the more popular and the more expansive the collective soundtrack of the franchise whill result in a greater length.

Why not? Short of a piano competition, I doubt any of us will get an opportunity to perform in something of this magnitude, regardless on wether or not we all choose to pursue music professionally. I figure, what with the magic of the internet and all that jazz, why not? Besides, I'm nothing if not ambitious. I see a community full of great and promising talents here, I'd be a fool to not try something like this.

Besides, if Pokemon does end up being what we play, then I have a good idea of how to bring it all together.
Title: Re: Pianists of NSM, Unite!
Post by: Olimar12345 on May 08, 2012, 06:12:12 AM
Let me ask it like this: Why 15 pianos? Is there really going to be enough literature for 15 pianos at the same time? Or are we all going to play like 20 measures total? It just seems like there would be too much part doubling, especially for a video game tune. Most pokemon songs don'y have more than four different lines.

Also this seems like it would be hell for any video editor.
Title: Re: Pianists of NSM, Unite!
Post by: MaestroUGC on May 08, 2012, 09:20:58 AM
Relax, I'm going to arrange this in a manner that allows for minimal part doubling. There is much more in a single bar a music than just the four part harmony after all. Besides, I'm not going to have everyone playing together all of the time, it'd be too loud an too noisy, but I'm not going to reduce it to where we all just simply take turns.

As far as the video editor is concerned, I plan on working closely with who ever it will be so as to give them a clear direction and assist in putting it all together.

I meant that a small group of us could do the intro and then another group could play the overworld (or something similar to that) etc etc etc.

Count me in if it's not too late!

By the way I can play anything relatively slow on harmonica and guitar (not simultaneously though) as well as piano.

No, the guitar does not need to be too simple, just not too fast with the changes.

I'm in on trombone. Been doing it since 5th grade. (I'm finishing 10th). I can also play euphonium, and I'm okay-ish with the piano, but I would rather stick to brass first.

Okay, we have 12 pianists, a potential organist, 4 voices (TTBB), a flautist, an Harmonica, a Trombonist, a Euphonist, a percussionist, 2 guitarists, and a violoists, totaling 16 people. I'm about to make the final call, so if I've missed you just make another post in bold with the instrument(s) you will be playing and the last piece you performed with siad instruments. It also looks as if Pokemon won the poll. I'm going to close the poll on monday, the 21st, so if you still want to vote, or change it, or sign up, you have until then.

Thank you for this fantastic turnout, once I get a final head count we can start with the pre-production for this massive project.

If I may throw out a suggestion, I think there should be a section that strings these songs together:

Heartgold/SoulSilver - Pokemart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Xuy2gPbBTk)
Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald - Rustboro City (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3auFhxfsmI)
Heartgold/SoulSilver - Saffron City/Pewter City/Viridian City (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Msxct8ee1G8)

There's plenty of room for a solo section or two.
I think we have sufficient material to pull it off.

I know there's tons of people signed up already, but I'd love to join in if you need a bass clarinet. I have eight years of experience, and have played in my province's youth wind ensemble as well as my university's symphonic band. I could do piano too (14 years experience xD Since I was five), but I think there's enough pianists already. :P I also own a Bb clarinet, but it's really cheap, so it's next to impossible to get a good sound out of.

L. v. Beethoven: Piano Sonata No.9 (op. 14 No. 1) in E Major
3rd movement, Rondo - Allegro commodo

Rachmaninoff: Prelude in C# Minor
Also known as Bells of Moscow.
I sorta messed up on one section of the song and I was surprised that the guy at the recording studio didn't have me redo it. :/

Oh, and the Vocals as a Tenor.

So we are doing...Pokemon!

The final tallies are: 15 Pianists, 1 Flute, 1 Bass Clarinet, 1 Percussionist,  3 Trombones (1 Bass), Euphonium, 2 Guitarists, 1 E. Bassist, 1 Violin, 1 Organ, and 5 Vocalists.

I think this time we won't be using any vocals, so unless you can convince me otherwise, I'm going to dismiss all vocalists.

We reached 15 Pianists! I knew we could do it. Now we need music. We need at least ten pieces from the Pokemon series. You have free reign. I'm going to take the most popular suggestions and figure out a way to bring them together into one cohesive piece.

Please list the pieces you want in bold, with the Game Title and Song Title, with a YouTube link if you can. You have 1 week to make suggestions, until Monday, June 4th. Even if someone suggested it already add it to your post if you want it in here. Unless I see a piece multiple times, I might not put it in.

If you still want to participate, you can, but once the set list is finalized (shortly after the 4th) there will be no more entries. If you have signed up to participate, please send me a PM of your summer schedule (Now until the end of August); major conflict dates, typical availability, even potential conflicts. From there I can start to piece together a rehearsal schedule for all of us.

Thank you for your enthusiam.

Well, ideally I want 3 or 4 rehearsals before people start sending in their videos. The arrangement should be ready by the end of June, hopefully before that if I'm really motivated. July will be when I will start rehearsals with people and the entire ensemble. Once I feel that we all know what we are doing, then I will tell you to start recording. If possible, I'd like for us to record all at once, and treat is as an online performance.

I think NSM Community Orchestra will work better, seeing as how we don't have enough people to even call ourselves a chamber group.

Let's try this:
The NSM Community Orchestra presents:
[Title of the Arrangement/Concert Title]
Performed by the NSM Piano Ensemble and Members of the NSMCO
Venue: Something Pokemon Related.

We can use this format each time we do this, and it allows for us to grow into and actual symphonic group. In fact, we could actually piece together a sort of cyber-concert with this as the main performance. We could break down into smaller groups and play pieces that won't be featured in the main medley, and maybe a few one-offs (pieces not from pokemon, but something to bring in a little variety), nothing from any other expansive franchises (Mario, Zelda, etc.)

Just an idea, there's enough material to put together a 2 hour concert, making this a glorified piano recital.

It would also be cool if we organized groups of people for each song. That would lighten the load on those who couldn't learn all the music as fast. And we could start with everyone at the beginning doing the main theme from red/blue/yellow.

It's 'cause of stuff like this I'm on a site like this ;D

IF by any means you need another one, I'm here for you guys.
Piano, flute (I haven't had a good lung-capacity lately though), not-incredibly-hard guitar, metallophone 1½ octave (starting from C, ends with G).

I've only done one uploaded cover with multiple instruments for a simple song, but here it is anyhow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI-TBH4IYnU (I can't get that quality on the flute live though)
Oh wait, had this one for the Metallophone (too many mistakes though, just learned the song >.<) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPgmlRSPaoI

Like I said before, like six times, I'm taking into account everyone's skill level while arranging this. Rehearsal will most likely come to putting everyone in groups, with one of the stronger pianists leading them in how to perform with the group. Most of this piece will center around the stronger players, with everybody else coming in around them with whatevery part I feel they can perform the best. That doesn't mean that the same five or six people will be playing the melody the entire time, they will be the anchor of all of this.
If you guys want to split into smaller groups to work on your own, that would be fantastic. If you want to pair up for duets or what have you and play other pieces for this event, more power to you.

fabbemannen, I'm going to add you as a pianist and metallophone player, I could use the timbre of that instrument to great effect if given the chance.

Are you sure? If you don't want to do it that's fine, but could I at least get a reason other than "I'm 12"? Money, time, equipment?

If ability is a problem, don't worry I will accommodate everybody.

It isn't a matter of ability or any of that stuff, just my protective parents: I'm a child meeting with a bunch of strangers(no offense XD).
I dont think they'll let me do it; I can try to persuade them, but it probably won't work...

Use a webcam without telling them? Or say that you know us irl or something along those lines. Parents are pretty easy to fool when it comes to technology related things.

I would not reccommend going against your parents. If they say yes, fanstastic; if they say no, don't sweat it. If they say no, you can show them the end product and keep it in mind for next time.

Also, keep these suggestions coming. I'm looking for about 15-20 minutes worth of material for this project.

Yah don't go against your parents' wishes. You could probably convince them and/or we could change your part. Maestro would it be possible for Fleet to film his own part separately after the full thing is completed? We could just patch it in then and he wouldn't be interacting with strangers (SFK is pretty scary after all ::)), only submitting his own video.

As much as I would like to suggest various "niche" favorite songs of mine from across the Pokémon series, I think we should ground the medley with a heavy basis in 1st gen music (Red, Blue, Yellow versions), as these would be most iconic. If anything, I think the songs that have appeared in every main series games should be included (the Title Theme, the Pokecenter, and the Gym Theme).

I'm just gonna throw a bunch of suggestions out there:

R/B/Y:
 Opening Theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdJQopRuH1E)
 Pokemon Center  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TB-xa6CChA)
 Pokemon Gym  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3IQFA-we6I)

 S.S. Anne  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGJglX2t5YM)
 Route 3/4  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLcJois9yTs)

Or any other route theme.
Or anything else from R/B/Y really... nostalgia factor and all.

G/S/C:  Route 29 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FP9udjzR970)
 Route 26/27 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YP6-sqMQJ9s)
 National Park  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XjouKSkSeM)
 Wild Pokemon Battle  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mo_CY0HcIws)

R/S/E:  Route 120  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xzec20s-FlU)
 Slateport City  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0yo32iVGA0)
 Vs. Gym Leader  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vqFybLpxc8)
 Vs. Champion  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-NylYukMv4)

D/P/P:  Vs. Uxie, Mespirit, or Azelf  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXsBks4HRls)

...I don't really remember anything else from D/P/P or B/W since I haven't played them in a while. From what I remember, most of the B/W music was really electronic-y anyways, if you know what I mean.

I've only been playing for three years, but I'm considered pretty advanced compared to my classmates.

Hmm, my most difficult piece... the only one I can name right away off the top of my head is the red solo part from Bach's Double Violin Concerto in D Minor, First Movement (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0daRRpLRJ4).

EDIT:  If it seems any harder than that Bach song, then my hardest song would be this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xx9sUVwoZ7I).

Piano: 6-8 years? I lost track.

Organ: 3 years

I forgot to say experience for euphonium. I've been playing for less than a year, but it was really more like transferring what I knew from trombone to a similar instrument. I would say that, if measuring ability, I would subtract one year (or less) from my trombone ability.

Also, I'm reluctant to list the most difficult song I have played because I don't play the most difficult songs I could. Not all of my band is. . . equal in skill to a few of us, so we play easy things by my standards. I also don't do very many solos, so that's hard too. In my honor band I was the first trombone, and we played Khan, and Red Rocks Fanfare. Don't have a recording though.

Just noticed you edited your post Maestro. While you're at it, there a few things that need fixing:

1.) The link provided for the "Final Battle" for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: R/B is incorrect, as it links to someone's remix. Instead, replace the link with this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gq4fCcwTrWs.
2.) I have already arranged a piano duet sheet of the "Primal Dialga Battle" from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: T/D/S.

Ok, here's the first draft set list, the order is not finalized:

Anime Theme - V

R/B/Y
-Opening
-PokeCenter
-Lavender Town
-Pokemon Gym
-Viridian Forest
-S.S. Anne
-Wild Pokemon Battle
-Elite Four

G/S/C
-National Park
-Bycicle Theme

D/P/Pt
-Canalave City
-Mt. Coronet Peak
-PokeMart
-Hearthome City

B/W
-Battle World Champion - V
-Opelucid City

Battle Revolution
-Mysterial's Theme

The "V" indicates the use of vocalists. Please note, by thursday I will have this list trimmed down to around 20-25 minutes of solid music. If a piece you wanted is not on here, I'm sorry. I went through every single suggested piece to find those that would lend themselves best to this ensemble.

The Performers List is final. If you are still on the list and have dropped, let me know. If you have been dropped and I accidentally removed you, or if your situation has changed since you last told me, again let me know.

Thank you for your patience, the construction of the medley itself should be finished within two weeks, maybe a bit longer, given that I have to work and such. If I'm not done with it by week three, and I have not updated this thread, feel free to spam me with messages telling me to hurry up because I'm most likely procrastinating.

If you had to cut out 2 pieces, I would say...
1.) Mysterial's Theme
2.) Opelucid City

I am little confused though as to why you put both RBY Pokemon Gym and Elite Four. Some people use the titles interchangeably to refer to the same song. By Elite Four, are you maybe meaning the Gym Leader Battle theme?

3. Hearthome City - D/P/Pt
4. S.S. Anne - R/B/Y
5. Lavander Town - R/B/Y

7. Anime Theme Song
8. Bycicle Theme - G/S/C
9. Mt. Coronet Peak - D/P/Pt
10. Battle World Champion - B/W
11. Viridian Forest - R/B/Y
12. National Park - G/SC
13. Canalave City - D/P/Pt
14. Pokemon Gym  - R/B/Y
15. Elite Four/Gym Leader - R/B/Y

Most of the transitions will be based on R/B/Y themes, either as reprises or motivic glue.

I have also enlisted the help of a cellist and a pianist for this project, the  former is a very good friend of mine, the latter is an old forum member.

I'm going to start building the medley on Monday, in order to make this work, once it's finished each player will recieve their part along with a second piano part that marks their cues (essentially the main melody and base line), each part will indicate the instrument/number and the player's name. I will be using your forum names for the score.

Estimated completion date: July 2nd, 2012

Is it too late for me to get involved in this? I certainly hope not. I could learn my part very quickly. I'd be on baritone sax, but I'm not sure if that'd suit the current instrumentation. (Hopefully not piano, since we already have so many.) I think it would be also helpful to newcomers to this project, like me, if a short summary of the schedule/what we as musicians need to do were to be posted on the front page of the thread so we don't have to go scrounging. :D

You are about two weeks too late, I've already begun to work on this and I really can't squeeze anybody in. However, I can still add in another piano part if you are willing. We haven't nailed down any specific schedule since most of us don't really know where we'll be or what we'll be doing by July.

By the way, this thing is really for the pianists anyway, the other instruments came about as a bonus. You can already see what we will be playing, so you can have a good idea how this will work out.

So do we rehearse simultaneously? Or is it just a recording thing like the piano project?

I'd like a rehearsal, at least one, but that may not be possible. At the very least, I'm going to have a session with everyone to give them some direction, but it shouldn't be too bad.

You never really realize how big some projects are until you start undertaking them.

That said, The hard part is almost over, which was just trying to figure out how to juggle 14 pianos at once.

Bad news:

This has been a hectic few weeks here for me, long story short I have no time to work on this.

Short story long: I've had a few things brewing for me since the beginning of summer, and now they are taking off. Firstly, my trio is now starting rehearsals and I'm putting together VG Music for us, amongst some classical standards and some orginal comps.

Another thing is a game my friends and I are making during the summer. Things have picked up now that both programmers have been working on this undistracted. I've been tasked with writing the music for this game, and since it's an RPG it's proven to be quite tasking. As such nearly all of my musical efforts have gone into that project. Since the goal is to be done with it all before school starts in August, I have quite a task laid out before me.

Add in work, other obligations that I need to see to, I'm booked. I haven't made much of a dent in putting this all togther, although arguably the hard part is the beginning and ending, when everyone is playing together. That said, since this is a Community Project I thought I'd leave to all of you to finish putting this all together. The file has all the instruments, properly sequenced, but I did not get further than the Opening theme from Red (part 1).

MUS (http://www.mediafire.com/?9d8jy7k583k8s9b)

Now I had a few things that I wanted to do with it, so whoever decides to pick this up I can give you my notes with my intentions and the directions I planned on taking. It'll be nice to see some else's style mixed in with my own.

THAT SAID, I think we need to start planning out for next summer. This was very spur of the moment, and as such I'd love to something like this through to the end at least once. Sometime next week I'll put up another poll so I can guage what people want to do next year. If popular opinion doesn't change much by New Year's I'll get a list of people who want to play and start putting it together then, giving me months to work on it before summer even begins.

If we really wanted to we could continue this from now until the start of next summer to really polish it and then hit practices hard next year. That way we'll have time to prepare and fix things in the score if need be. Summer is going to be ending in the next few weeks here for a few people. I have band camp next week and the week after, and then school starts mid August. The only problem I might see is a drop in interest, but I'm sure it'll pick back up when it gets going again. Just a suggestion.

If that's the case then I could keep working on it throughout the year. Best case scenario is I can get it out to you all around thanksgiving, and you record and whatnot during the holidays.

While I'm a bit disappointed that it's going to be another year, I see some pluses to this. For one, by next summer, I'll have full access to a professional recording studio and all of its tools. So I'd be able to tweak a clean up the final video's audio, as well as record my own parts with super sexy microphones.

Mixed feelings about this.  While I am anxious to take something this big on, it does seem only right that we give it the time it deserves- and this deserves quality work.  So I'm with Zunawe in saying we work on it throughout the school year.  And Maestro, we're all willing to help out.  If you're swamped at any point, PM one of us and we'll help out.  Still pumped for this.  :D

UPDATE!

It's coming along, slowly but surely. It's not my primary focus at this point in time, but I am working on it every now and then. I plan on having it finished in time for the holidays (read: between Thanksgiving and Christmas) and people can start working on it with the intention of recording in the summer.

I realize that some people may drop out in the meantime, but I can't afford to alter the score, meaning the parts written will be final. As such I have to be pragmatic and write each part individually as opposed to writing them in groups. When it's finished I'll just let people decide which piano part they want to try, with the parts getting easier going down the score. That means I'd like to reserve the top 5/6 piano parts for the most experienced players as they will be the most demanding.

And why is there a lack of percussion on this list? Surely you need some sort of backbeat to rest on... ;)

Software is 100% unimportant when it comes to recording. It's all about the hardware, bro. Microphones to be specific. Software, as far as sound quality goes, is just what you use to fix recording errors and background noise. Tell your band to get some Shure sm57's up in dat place!

Once I finish the arrangement I'll have a roll call to see who we've lost and who could fill those spots. Speaking of which, I've been working (as in a job) alot lately, so these side projects are busy gathering dust. However, I have no other pressing originals to work on right now, so this is my No. 1 priority right now, unfortunately I only have an hour long window to work on the per day, and not in a single sitting. In my mind this thing is practically done, it's writing it out and refining it that's time consuming to the point where I can't work on it effectively.

On the bright side, I'm making money, which is always a good thing.

If it's all the same, I can play harmonica somewhat decently well.
I'm self-taught, and my harmonica won't allow me to bend notes but I should be able to do what a flute can.

Sort of an example of where I'm at with that: I've just learned the Zelda theme. (The one everyone knows)

If the substitution is an option, I've listed the easiest keys to play.
Preferred keys: C Major, C# Major, G Major, D Major, A minor, E minor, A#/Bb minor, B minor.

That might actually work well to mimic the original piece, yeah, now that I think about it, it will work perfectly for the piece I have in mind.

It's in D-flat Major so it shouldn't be an issue for you.

Instruments:

Piano-3 years
Violin-6 years
Vocals-Lead-Tenor. Ranging from G above middle C (excluding Falsetto) to B an octave below middle C.

My piano instructor is sort of a "beginners" teacher, and while next year I'm going to move to the next level with another instructor, for now I'm only beginner-intermediate. As for Violin, I play for school, and although I'm the top of my class, I was never taught anything really advanced, but I can still shift. I can really do anything when it comes to vocals, so in order of expertise: Vocals>Violin>Piano.

I have a sister who can play flute.

I can also play Tuba, Baritone, Trumpet, F-horn, and I have a melodica. Which is similar to like, an over-sized harmonica but, the dynamic range is a bit easier to achieve for me personally.

I got an electric bass (a nice one at that) so you can add that to my list of instruments. As well as ukelele.
(If you end up using ukelele, don't bother adding tab because mine's a Venezuelan cuatro (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuatro_(instrument)#The_Venezuelan_cuatro). It's alternate tuning, (waaaay alternate) which isn't provided in finale)
The uke is fresh from Venezuela. Got it there some time ago when visiting relatives. Finally got around to learning to play it.
(It's actually my sister's but she lets me use it whenever)

Thermf.

It's so big. Writing 16 bars takes 1 hour to properly notate for the pianos alone. I'm working, I swear to god I'm working. I keep making promises, but not this time. God help me I will finish this. I swear by my pen, I will finish this.

Halfway through Hearthome City.

Give up? No.

Forget about entirely? All the time.

Look, don't expect this to be done any time soon. I never leave a project unfinished, but the actual completion time will vary wildly depending on pre-existing and new, upcoming projects.

Short version: It'll be done when it's done.

Erm, not to sound defensive or anything, but I don't see him saying anything like that over the past 3 pages... And even if he had been, I was merely indicating that I was available to play, if need be. No need to get all uppity because I play the same instruments as you :)

I didn't actually look, I'm just saying a lot of people have asked. I may have misunderstood because I misread it as "count me in" instead of "count on me". And I welcome more low brass. Trombone = best.

Welp, this was a failed endeavor. The reason this never came to fruition was because I am just not a fan of Pokemon, and while I enjoyed some of the music you guys presented me, it wasn't enough to motivate me to keep working on this regularly.

I don't really have a lot to show for this, so I'm going to wrap up what I've got, take another head count and give this another go. This time I'm choosing what it will be this time.

It's going to be Mario, because I like Mario.
