EDIT: I've rearranged the post so it's more orderly and stuff like that. Also, so I can make future requests here too.
Just make new threads

'Allo, ladies and gents!
I would like to request a couple of songs, if possible.
CURRENT REQUESTS:
Gate (Pokemon BW)
Original song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUJGVWbkXXs
Extra notes: None
Currently being take on by: Myself
Relic Castle (Pokemon BW)
Original Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qd_6FsKjC4o
Extra Notes: Duet is fine for this one if it is too complicated.
Currently being taken on by: No one at the moment.
COMPLETED:
Dragonspiral Tower (Pokemon Black and White - NDS):
Original song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-ty6u4RxWI (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-ty6u4RxWI)
Extras/notes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcTBWYbLzDs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcTBWYbLzDs)
I would prefer if it were a solo (take a look at the previous video at the specified times for an example), but if it would be better as a duet I suppose that would be fine c:
Completed by: Bespinben
Freezer Containers/Twist Mountain (Pokemon Black and White - NDS)
Original song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjEFNK_2qxQ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjEFNK_2qxQ)
Extras/notes: This is the second one. It just sounds like such a fun piece to play! Don't know how hard it would be to transpose, though (there are quite a few parts to it). I'll put it out there, regardless.
Completed by: MoboMoga
Time Gear/Fogbound Lake (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon:Explorers of Sky - NDS)
Original song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kY5JMo4vAc8&feature=related (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kY5JMo4vAc8&feature=related)
Extras/noes: None.
Completed by: Bespinben
And that's all I can think of for now c: Thanks!
Ah November, thanks for having such good taste in requests ;)
I've been contemplating Dragonspiral Tower/Celestial Tower/Tower of Heaven for an incredibly long time now, and with your request, I finally have decided to arrange it.
Hehe, Cold Storage does sound pretty fun to play, but I don't think I want to arrange it, not now anyway. Maybe someone else should do it.
YESSSS TIME GEAR THEME!!! *(also known as Fogbound Lake)* I actually tried making an arrangement a very long time ago, but hit a road-block because of the multiplicity of parts in the piece that are ALL very vital to the composition (yay polyphony). Solo piano for this song would be incredibly difficult, but it's a task I'm willing to attempt. Your call though - duet or solo?
Heheh, I'm flattered that you think so :)
That's great, thank you! It's just such a beautiful song, and it seems like it would be fun to play on the piano.
As for Fogbound Lake? Listening to it again, I think it would be better as a duet (as you said, there are many essentiel parts to it!). But if you would like the challenge of doing the solo, by all means go right ahead!
And that's completely fine. I'm sort of tempted to try it myself, but I've never done anything of the sort before (I think I might want to start off with a slightly easier piece, too) and I'm not too sure how far I would get.
I'll try to do the Cold Storage (Freezer Containers)..

Ah, very good! The nice thing about that song is that, due to the instrumentation, you can very easily hear the different parts. Rhythms might be a pain though XD

Haha yupyup..those rhythms were something to worry about...but now I'm sure I will arrange the piece. :)

How? it's mostly eighth notes.

when you hear it thoroughly, it has those metallic sounds life poketransfer, and are often repeated twice... and in the middle part (or end?) you have to strain your ears since all the notes are clogged together.

I don't think those parts are necessary.
Can anyone help me with the chromatic scale during the beginning with the dotted quarter notes? Dunno where to start...and after the last of the three whole notes there the melody starts....anyone know what the first the second notes are?? :-\

Import the song into an audio editing program (such as Aucacity), and reduce the tempo by 50 percent. That should make things easier for you.

And it doesn't even screw up the pitch.
I've been working on Dragonspiral Tower today, but I need to know who the composer is. I know Masuda and 3 others worked on the OST, but which one composed this particular song? My own googling has been unfruitful. My best guess is maybe Shota Kageyama at this point.

Ah, thank you again Bespinben! It sounds fantastic, and looks very fun to play :D
I really appreciate both of you taking on my requests.
And I have a question - which requests get added to the main site? There seem to be plenty that are completed, but not all of them are up. Does someone decide (like the composer, or a mod?)?
There is a maximum amount of songs that can be submitted for each update. We have 2 uploaders that check them for quality, and then they get put up. Lately it's been 4 max per arranger. If you're hoping to see DragonSpiral up on the site now, Bespinben would need to put it into his submissions post.
Ah, ok. I thought it would be something like that, looking at the sheer amount of completed requests on this board.
Nah, I'm not necessarily hoping to see Dragonspiral up (it's up to Bespinben). I was just curious, and thought it would be more convenient to ask here than in a new thread.
Thanks :)
Is it ok if I omit some notes because you can't play them for a solo?? here's what i have so far...interestingly, the beginning is pretty rite, so i hope u dont mind keeping it. [MIDI-not finished] (http://205.196.123.37/7ei5lci2239g/o7vzjvazj84vxvb/Pokmon_BW_-_Cold_Storage__Twist_.mid)

I'm definitely fine with that! Exchanging parts for clarity or for ease of playing is good.
And yes, the beginning sounds fine :) I'm not entirely sure why it sounded off to me before.
Aight I'm done!!!
But here's a few things to keep in mind:
-I work with Noteflight, not Finale. Therefore the .mus file will be very different than the pdf.
-I understand the ending is quite...extraordinary. But I've been over that part for 5 days now, and I can't fix it.
Well, with my apologies finished, here you go!! Hope you enjoy it!

thank you :). it rlly bugged me at those quintuplets (5 notes), but haha, it was the best i could do. i would very much like to take the new request, however i am working currently on Poke Transfer In Progress (Choose Pokemon!) Actually, would anyone mind just starting it off for me (like, the first couple of bars?). I would love to try to arrange this piece, however I can never find the proper note to start on. Maybe having a starting point would help me.

yeah that. Try exporting in MusicXML and then importing it into finale and see what happens.
Use the numbers on the lower left. Try using the shortcut Shift+Alt+1/2/3/4. I don't know if that works on notepad.

So I've spent a very large portion portion of my day today trying to think of a good way to effectively create a SOLO arrangement of the Time Gear theme despite the numerous parts, and I've finally acheived an epiphany. I'm hoping I can have it done in the next 3 hours, that way I can put it towards my daily arrangement count XD
Alright! A few minutes after midnight but who cares? Here it is November -- "Time Gear" for SOLO piano! I'm so happy I took the opportunity to arrange this song, it is so beautiful. I hope my arrangement can do it justice. Also, once you look through it, do you think I should write in an optional ending? I had some ideas, and I think the arrangement would be more complete if I wrote one in instead of just sticking a "D.S. al Fine" at the end.

Ah, hello!
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten that far at all. My summer has been too busy (summer school/cottage life, then a two-week trip to Alabama), which is also why I haven't been on here at all. I have nothing in the upcoming week, though, so I hope to work on it then!

And a trip to Alabama?! Jealousy Alert!
EDIT: Sorry, Shadowninja, just saw your note about making new treads D: I'll make sure to make one for my next request, if that's alright.
Good news! I've been arranging lots and lots (and lots!)! (including some PMD music, like "I Saw Something Again...")
Bad news! I haven't actually finished anything yet! :P
I also have a quick question for all you arrangers out there - how does one decide on a key signature for a particular song? So far, I've
been resorting to arranging the piece as much as I can, and seeing which sharps/flats appear the most. Is this the best way of doing it?
I also seem to have a lot of trouble finding the starting notes. I guess that'll come with practice, though, so nothing to do but to keep on arranging!
And I guess the next pieces I'm looking at arranging would be Frosty Grotto and maybe one/both of the Brine Caves!
To keep this related to requests, I would like to request Ancient/Relic Castle:
Although I don't know if it's really possible to do so without a duet (duets are fine, though! ;D)
Hmm, it's tough to explain HOW to identify a key signature, but it should be fairly obvious. You know how there's one note that a song theoretically "should" end on? Locate that note, and whether the piece is in minor or major, and that's the key it is in. You can't rely on sharps and flats, as just because a key signature HAS them doesn't mean they appear in the piece.

haha, yup, I never identify the key sig from the begininng.. i just assume the key sig from the # of occurances of accidentals in the piece.
And yeah, I have problems with first notes..and it's OK! this is what I do: play that part of the song, and hum the notes continously, and then add a note and hear it if it's the same as your hum. It's not the best way, but you'll still survive. ;D
