Title: Pokemon Conquest
Post by: Ragster on June 15, 2012, 06:04:40 AM
My brother decided to reserve this game, so I started looking up some about it, and it looks interesting. Anyone else getting it?

Yep, definitely getting it. It reminds me of Final Fantasy Tactics and I loved that game.

I pre-ordered my copy ages ago. I'm super pumped for this game. :D

Went to pick up my game, said it was releasing tomorrow. Sadness. I swear the release date was today.

It was released today. Sue them!

I don't know what region in the world you're in, though. :p

USA, East Coast. A bunch of people didn't get their games, so something's up.

Sigh. Whatever. I'll just get it after piano.

That's odd because Nintendo tweeted that it was released today. And actually, I saw it for sale at Gamestop yesterday XD

A friend of mine living in NYC bought it today too. So yeah, it's weird.

Really? =/ Some of my friends on Tumblr posted that they didn't get it either. Huh. Odd...

Odd. Regardless, I think I might try to pick up a copy tomorrow, it looks really good.  Although that means I'll have to bike 4 miles to gamestop at 9:30 in the morning to get it...hmmm...yeah, worth it. :D

Same problem here, we went up to GameStop to find that it wasn't going to be there until tomorrow afternoon. They were kind of late to inform us of this, seeing how they called to say it wasn't there an hour after we got home xP

Bought it yesterday. I didn't have a lot of time to play but so far it looks fun. I don't think I'll regret buying that game.

Why would someone scold you? If people say it's a good enough game, I'll get it. :)

Oh you. :P

I used to do that, but I don't get the same satisfaction of beating a game I don't physically own.

I agree with this review.

I'd like to see my kingdoms occasionally being invaded by nearby kingdoms. I was constantly fortifying kingdoms to defend myself against possible attacks only to find out that there are no random invasions.

Also, not being able to invade a kingdom without the hero and his sidekick, not cool.

The island of Ransei forms the shape of Arceus. Blind Mown.

One of the things that really annoyed me about this game; There's too many generic copypaste warriors.

I lol'd at the cover: An epic depiction of Groudon, Mewtwo, Articuno, and Zekrom on the cover... And then a jigglypuff? X3
It must have some importance in the game, but I don't have it yet. I'm sort of afraid to get it, because of how different it is from all the other games in the series, and I don't have much dough to spare right now..

It does have importance in the game. Warlords and warriors link with pokemon which can be around 30% to a maximum of 100%. Each warlord and warrior have 1 or 2 pokemon species that they have a "perfect link" with.

Jigglypuff is so useless in this game.

It's probably not a game for everyone. If you like strategy games, chess, final fantasy tactics (advance), or fire emblem, you'll probably enjoy this game. You could find someone who has it and ask them if you can borrow it, find a rental place (if they still exist in your area), or get an emulator and rom to test it out.

I am, or I was a Pokemon fanatic, and I got this last night.
About five hours into it. Considerably different than the main series, but an excellent spin-off.
Definitely worth the money.

I'll watch some YouTube walkthrough vids of it, then, because I'd hate to miss out on a good Pokemon game. It could be like cilantro, you either love it or you hate it, but you never know until you try..

Finished the main story. It was easier than I expected, but the additional stories are much more of a challenge. Lots more to do still.

Also, I like it that your links carry over between stories, so you can get even stronger without having to start over.

Nice. The post-game episodes are better than the main story imo.

Is it possible to get 2 legendaries in one episode? In Ieyasu's episode, I got Mewtwo, then I tried getting Registeel. Even though I got all the requirements for Registeel,  I couldn't get the unifier crystal. :P

It's too bad. I hope they make another one that's way better.
I'd love less generic warriors, more focused warlords with character development, trading between warriors, pokemon having more than a single move, more varied terrain/map types, more information displayed on the top screen for warriors, and some kind of online battling/trading

yeah, and after a while it gets very stale battling the same kingdoms. It's a great game, but the post game has little to offer...

especially when you get pokemon at 50%+ link and you plow through them like they were butter.

Probably because they're both from the same developer and based on the same people/characters.
