My Big Fancy Arrangements

These are obviously not for submission...more like for you to oogle and amaze at, haha. ;D
These are symphony orchestra arranegments...but I'd say they fall more under the catagory of Fantasy as I've taken the melody and added several new things, harmonies, counter melodies, backgrounds, and junk.

"Pollyanna" (The Pollyanna and 8 Melodies theme like you've never heard them before!)
From Mother 1

Could this be... a female!!! Wow. I think this is a first. Anyway, this looks almost perfect, except, 3rd measure, 1st left hand cord, the top note needs to be moved from an E to a C. And you need to choose sharps, or flats. Just 1. Not both. Great work so far, though.

Yes...I am female, haha. Is that unusual, hmm? Thanks...I would have never caught that mistake in the third measure...I always overlook little mistakes...and I wasn't aware of the sharp or flat thing...I guess it makes sense...the four years of crazy jazz band enharmonics are coming back to haunt me...violin don't belong in jazz band and don't belong in the key of Db! So I'll go with sharps! ^_^ (Strings love sharps)

I like earthbound music too, especially the 8 melodies. I hope I didn't offend you with the "annoying" comment. I didn't mean your arrangement, I meant the original. The instruments they used made it sound kind of weird (to me).

Oh don't worry...it's nearly impossible to offend me. ^_^
I understand what you mean though I'm fine with the intrumentation.

never played the actual game... but this arrangement is good...

bars 12-13 that left hand thing is basically impossible/incredibly difficult (maybe if you use both hands...)...

but otherwise good job...

Oh...I don't anything about piano...so naturally I'm a bad judge of how playable things are. I don't know how I could go about making a more practical part without changing the actual song because that's the only thing going on in the song at the time.

your route 1 arrangement is good... looks like you basically just transposed it from your orchestration, which isn't a bad thing because it still sounds great.
Title: Re: (New! 5/14) Random Goldfish's Arrangements
Post by: random_goldfish on May 19, 2008, 07:56:45 PM
Haha...I did transpose it from my orchestration...which is cool because I did all the ear work then anyway...just made it piano-friendly.

Where in the plot or a location. I'm looking through the entire soundtrack of the game.

EDIT: never mind I found it. It's the second half of Peace and Farewell (http://www.mediafire.com/?zzd1yp4xdam).

It has a different title on the Japanese release...I think that's the thing. I've heard the song called a couple of things, haha. It's the main theme and you hear several versions throughout the game.

Post by: random_goldfish on January 07, 2009, 03:40:02 PM
Ok...I have a new arrangement. 16 Melodies from Mother 3. Now, I spent a little on this and I want to know if the left hand part is too ridiculous and I'm prepared already on how to make it less ridiculous if it is, haha. I made a different ending because I don't like the original and afterall...I'm arranging...the end is just the original 8 melodies.

Some good arrangements! I love earthbound too... and I'm doing some Mother arrangements.
Nice job on 16 melodies- I didn't know it was possible to arrange that! In some places however it does look impossible to play those chords in the bass...

Yeah, I know...I don't play piano so I just arrange them how I hear them, haha.

it's refreshing to meet a person of the female species that enjoys to arrange. Thankyou.

On another note, I still need to review your arrangements. Sadly I haven't played nor heard any of the mother music. So... it'll be alittle difficult to comment on. Other than that, nice collection you got going on. Keep it up.

Well thank you! I've noticed there aren't much of my kind on this site, hahaha. But yes, I certainly love to arrange and compose...haven't done so in awhile though, blame college. Thanks in advance if you give my stuff a look at...even if you haven't played you could always just look at it on the musical side of things.

Hahaha, it is pretty funny. I've noticed it several times. There was once upon a time where we were trying to fix the sheets here and the Super Mario Bros. 2 overworld made me say, "Egad!" So I fixed it. It was my first arrangement for this site.  :P

Cool.

Well, talking about fixing the sheets, you should take a look around the 2nd one that i started up. Not much is going on with it, but it is a start nonetheless. If you haven't seen it already, it's a sticky topic in the submission thread. (yes this one) Be sure to take a look around ya?

What you should do is get it on an emulator as I'm certain you don't have the time or money to get an orignial copy, hahaha. The cheepest I've seen them is $100.

Starmen.net should be able to hook you up...either that or it's just a google search away. The best one to start with is Mother 2...which you seach under Earthbound.

Well, as much as I would love to play the game, I really can't. Sorry, but alas, that doesn't hinder the fact that I can't listen to mp3's. So, whatever you guys are willing to give me I'll be willing to accept. Sound good?

Earthbound (http://starmen.net/mother2/music/)

Mother 3 (http://starmen.net/mother3/music/)

For mother 3 you'll need an .ogg- .mp3 converter.

Well, actually Earthbound is Mother 2, haha.
Mother 1 is called Earthbound Zero.
I don't have any links for it yet. I own the original soundtrack but it's the music orchestrated and with lyrics put to it...so not very helpful if you want to know what the game soudned like.

For anyone that cares, I have three new arrangements up...obviously Earthbound. I know Fourside is already on the site but I think mine is better, hehe. There is nothing really special about The Runaway Five one...and I'm not sure if Tank could be made into a playable piano song so I'll need feedback on that one. If it can't be made playable I don't know if it will be kept for completeness sake or shits and giggles.
