One that immediately comes to mind is the Emerald Serenade in Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. Not so much hard as super annoying, I cannot STAND that thing. Flying around Wonderland and the other worlds at top speed, allowing about one hit for every five minutes.
I also hate a LOT of the Mystery Dungeon bosses. I remember the Lairon/Aggron troupe in PMDEOS taking me a really long time. Jirachi was no cakewalk either. Hate Primal Dialga.
What are some of your least favorite bosses?
I have bad memories of those larions. When playing the special mission with Team charm, it was so difficult and I was having such a hard time that I resorted to action replay (which I really didnt want to do, for pride reasons). Well, as it turns out, it was a horrible idea, since somehow the one-hit-kill code corrupted my game and I couldnt play it for a full year until I found out the right way to restart my entire file. I think Primal Dialga was one of those bosses that I died so many times I forgot to count, so yeah
Yiazmat.
Thunderbird in Zelda II. Even at full strength, it's one of the ugh bosses, especially because you have to drain a few magic bars to cast Thunder before you can attack it.

4 ******* HOURS.

For comparison: It took me about two and a half hours to beat Ruby Weapon, under-leveled, off course. :P
Malus ,the last colossus in Shadow of the Colossus, is stupidly difficult.
Primal Dialga was annoying, as is Darkrai and his team in PMD 2...
I also don't have fond memories of Bouldergeist on Daredevil runs, Gobblegut (on fire)... a lot of Galaxy bosses gave me a headache.

Sentry Duty x20→Reviver Seed x20→Lapras/Dark Crater→Success
...well, I'll keep that in mind.

JIRACHI WAS A BITCH D:< Why would you use Bidoof of all Pokemon against a Steel type Boss I don't know!
Lol I found the Lairon Group easy :P And I spent forever getting to Darkarai, that I beat him easily.
FUCK YEAH PIKACHU WITH DISCHARGE!
UGH, PRIMAL DILGA. That took forever. >:(

It was the first time I played the game, and the Yellows holding the bomb rocks fell in the water. XD
Make more sense now?
Yes lol.
Quote from: Olimar12345 on October 15, 2012, 04:31:29 PMYes lol.
Pretty sure I've fought him again since, with the bomb rocks, and have lost far less. But that encounter alone makes me nominate him as the 2nd most annoying Pikmin series enemy. (I think you know who #1 is. ::))
The Water Wraith isn't hard... :s I would say Man-at-Legs is the hardest.

JUST beat Jirachi in PMD: Red Rescue Team... No reviver seeds left and I was on low health. Managed to kill it with a silver spike. :P
You beat Jirachi? Man. I haven't even done that. Hell I never got through Wish Cave sobs
Quote from: Nebbles on October 17, 2012, 11:01:36 PMYou beat Jirachi? Man. I haven't even done that. Hell I never got through Wish Cave sobs
Nearly got up to Celebi but made a silly mistake and paid for it... XDDDD
never got to celebi lol
Never beat a 99 level dungeon before lol. I got to level 97 in Buried Relic once, but then an Onix's Rock Thorw caught me off guard and I pretty much smashed my DS :P
Hence why you don't have to go through any 99-floor dungeons in PMD2. I reckon a lot of people rage-quitted. :P
I, on the other hand, loved 'em! I got so bored of just being able to waltz through a dungeon. You had to plan for a 99-floor dungeon and have the stanima to get through it too! :D

Solution=Sentry Duty every time you see no proper missions on the Boards=Lots of Reviver Seeds
Snowhead Temple. Makes you go to an asylum.
Dire Dire Docks. Is boring.
Rumble Falls, or whatever it's called. Moving stages are no fun.
I think I found a fight that we can all (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulXcEILxBFI) agree on.
Any level that is timed is very annoying.
All Secret Areas from Super Mario Sunshine
So, what recent game levels/bosses have annoyed Fox lately.
Let's count.
Balore (Castlevania:Aria of Sorrow)
Puppet Master (Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow)
That goddamm desert place in Super Mario 64 DS (<--)
All of Bevelle (Final Fantasy X)
Mike Tyson (Punch Out)
Kirby And the Amazing Mirror
Inside Jabu Jabu's belly (Zelda Ocarina of Time)
Baron Brixius (Sonny 2)
Hell Wyrm (Final Fantasy XII)
That's all I guess.
The vintage Aperture Science levels in the second half of Portal 2. I had to use a guide for at least 5. Probably more.
Oh gosh me too. Such a great game, but I stink at its puzzles.
It probably would've been worse if they hadn't included Cave Johnson.
"When life gives you lemons, DON'T make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back!"
"Get mad! I don't want your dang lemons, what am I supposed to do with these?! Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?! I'm the man who's going to burn your house down! ...with the lemons! I'm going to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down! *COUGH* *COUGH*"
...I know too many of these quotes.
And GLaDOS was all like "Yeah! Yes! Yeah, take the lemons! BURN HIS HOUSE DOWN! Oh, I like this guy!"
"All right, this next test involves...trace amounts of time travel. So if you see your future self on the testing track, don't make eye contact. Lab boys say that'll wipe out time. Entirely. Forward and backward. So do both of yourselves a favor and just let that handsome devil go about his business."
Anyways, back on topic, Soda Popinski in Punch-Out!! Wii is HARD. I still haven't beat him on practice mode.

I have a hard time believing that :P
I know people like 30+ years old who still remember the code to this day
Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 1. I don't personally know any who has actually beat him.
Lou in Guitar Hero 3. I can't be the only who played that game here.
When I was 3, Brock. I refused to use anything but Pikachu and Pidgeotto. Pikachu got to level 30 by the time I beat him. Yuuuuup.
Final boss of Uncharted 2. Took. So. Much. Damage.
Red anyone? So much grinding followed by so much satisfaction.
I'm sure I'll think of more later.

Sephiroth: My older brother beat him, although I never got that far in Kingdom Hearts (I've finished the game, but haven't fought any of the "extra" bosses). :(
Brock: In Pokemon Yellow, yes...
Red: I beat him with a Typhlosion in Crystal.
Demyx.
I shouldn't even have to say it.

He was extremely easy for me. My mudkip knew endeavor...
I thought the second time you have to kill Scervo in Skyward sword was really annoying and ticked me off sooo much.
Also the second time to kill imprisoned. Those freaking electricity on every stomp. =_=
and for some reason...it takes me forever to kill Mrs. Thwomp in mario and luigi Partners in time...
*lol I'm really bad at leveling up*
I think the annoying boss I've met is the rock monster in super Mario galaxy on the haunted house galaxy thingy or something. He keeps putting rock pillars so I can't hit him with the exploding boo.
Ah, Bouldergeist. He is a bit of a pain (especially with the daredevil challenge). I found him easier when I fought him again in SMG2.
He isn't imo. It was fun.
Well... Challenge is fun!!! I agree with that. But challenge should be given at least enough to beat.
Thank god the exchanging thingy was there.
Quote from: Dudeman on January 18, 2013, 07:13:41 AMAh, Bouldergeist. He is a bit of a pain (especially with the daredevil challenge). I found him easier when I fought him again in SMG2.
...he's in Galaxy 2? Great. -.-
That Daredevil challenge was hard!
Quote from: blueflower999 on January 18, 2013, 08:15:13 PM...he's in Galaxy 2?
One of the final galaxies in SMG2 features five bosses from the original that you have to fight one after the other (but I won't spoil who, other than Bouldergeist).
The hardest level in Super Mario Galaxy was "Dreadnought Ammo Depot." Took me eight bajillion times (ballpark figure).
I think we all know what the hardest level in Super Mario Galaxy 2 was.
Grandmaster? I had to get my sister to help me on the daredevil challenge (the only time I ever used two-player).
^Same here! Even with my brother helping (the only time I did that), it took approximately eighteen bajillion times.
More annoying levels (speaking of grandmaster oh GOD), hi Tick Tock Clock! Hi Rainbow Ride... Lethal Lava Land... Shifting Sand Land... Hazy Maze Cave... Tiny Huge Island... so many levels...
Grandmaster gave me so much pain and I can't do it without a second player. Flip-Swap and Flip-Switch were bad, too... so bad...
It was frustrating in Super Mario 3D Land too when the platforms activated every time you jumped. Lol btw I still haven't beaten the crown level in Super Mario 3D Land.
Like.
Not even attempting that one yet.
Tick Tock Clock was more...annoying than hard. Like the "Stomp on the Thwomp" level dragged on for far to long. I did get every star in the main courses though (it's easier in the DS version for me, I just adapt to the controls better). The Red Coins in Shifting Sand Land are a nightmare but I had fun with all the other levels in that land.
Red Coins in Shifting Sand Land were horrible. All the failures...
Tick Tock Clock wasn't very hard... just annoying as said, and had very super precision platforming which I'm not best at. So it was combo of bad jumps, bad timing, and being nervous enough that I messed up. A lot.
Stomp on the Thwomp is a bad level and it should feel bad.
Quote from: SlowPokemon on January 19, 2013, 01:30:15 PMThe Red Coins in Shifting Sand Land
OH GOSH THOSE RED COINS RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH
Worst...level...ever. Except for maybe that one bonus level in the room with Tick Tock Clock where you had to be fired out of tons of cannons with the wing cap.
The red coins in Rainbow Ride weren't fun either if I remember correctly.... then again, that level was so time-consuming and frustrating that I don't have a lot of memories from it anyway.
I lost about 20 lives on the boss level in Shifting Sand land.
Before I even got to the boss.
But... All you have to do is climb the four towers and enter the pyramid....
....I had trouble on that too, you know. >_> It was called "nebbles has shitty perception and can't land on a pillar to save her life"
It was more of these cases.
"Fox has shitty aiming and either.
1. Falls of the pyramid
2. Hits a wall with the koopa shell
3.Collects a star I already got."
Oh god, I fell off the pyramid so many times... and the bad aim with the koopa shell... OR wing cap...
Quote from: Nebbles on January 19, 2013, 04:48:45 PM....I had trouble on that too, you know. >_> It was called "nebbles has shitty perception and can't land on a pillar to save her life"
I can understand falling off the pyramid, but you can just climb up the side of the towers--if you go left immediately after starting the level, you get caught up in the windstorm instead of falling into the quicksand.
I dunno, man, I had such bad luck on those stupid pillars.
Talking about falling off...
In super mario sunshine, there was a stage in Ricco Harbor - The Caged Shine Sprite and there was so many things to jump on and climb. The platforms were soo narrow...and I kept falling down back to the beginning. Plus those little wind cloud things...which just blows you right off the platform!
It literally took me 45 mins to finish it because i was so not used to the controls and the angling XD
Speaking of Sunshine.....
The beach level where the sand bird finally wakes up. How on earth do you get all 8 red coins? ???
7 of them are on the bird, the eight one is on top of the pillar.

That was a joyous fight, because we were playing in 2P...
"Sonic the Hedgehog naturally has numerous examples of this trope."
Grrr...
"The second half of the Waterwraith battle in Pikmin 2 has it trying to run away from you... and running out of breath after a while. This results in a VERY satisfying retribution for everything it put you through."

^ I don't remember that... LOL
SPOLIER...
Once you finished the game in Super Mario Galaxy 2, there was a stage in the special world, which looked like mario. Like the green tiles that would fall once you touch it?
Damn that was hard and annoying coz you had to make your way back to the start...and there are like no green tiles left XDDDD
Quote from: Yugi on January 26, 2013, 01:44:14 AMOh god I know who you're talking about.
Hey let me mess up your control system so directions are reversed.
Then let me keep shooting you as you try to move and deflect my attacks.
Oh look you hit me, how about I keep shooting you while teleporting around the room.
How about I change the layout of the battlefield, while still keeping my teleporting abilities to troll you.
Okay Now I will use an annoying attack that you have to deflect while I keep teleporting.
Now I will keep shooting you, holding you in place before you die.
I beat him on my second try though, and the only reason I lost the first time was due to fucking antiform.
If you can guess which boss I'm talking about you get a cookie.
... Ganon from The Legend of Zelda Oracle series? Does everything you mentioned. ???
Nope.
Death from Castlevania Aria of Sorrow.
Elesa and her fucking emolga
Magic Master from FFVI.
Water Temple. Ocarina of Time.
I can't believe I haven't mentioned this boss yet.
DEMYX
He has annoying attacks that can knock you into the air, flunkies that can gangbang you and leave you helpless, a reaction command that does a crapload of damage EVEN IF YOU START WITH DEFENSIVE PRIORITIES, jump's around the stage, leave's very few openings and has the second highest HP total of all the ORG. 13 members.
But Here's the kicker.
At any point in the battle (he uses it at the start of the battle), he can shout "DANCE WATER DANCE" and he summons 10 water clones, which, if not defeated in 10 seconds, will end the battle with no explanation as to why. Also, he loves to SPAM THE HELL OUT OF THIS MOVE, EVEN ON BEGINNER DIFICULTY.
