Whoever played super mario 64 has probably read this sign upstairs in the castle: SHH! Please walk quietly in the hallway.
What do u think it means?
I think it means "Please walk quietly in the hallway" ::)
Also, I don't think you had to make a topic just for this subject.

Agreed.
I think the "L is real" sign is more interesting. ::)

So... this topic should be changed to "Mysterious Signs/etc. in Video Games"?? :P
I may not be in a hallway, BUT I THINK I'LL BE SUPER LOUD ANYWAY. LOOK AT HOW THIS TEXT SCREAMS AT YOU.

changed
Or, simply, that the sign implies there are sleeping chambers nearby. The Toad servants, some of which serve during the night, probably sleep in there during the day.
My "Mysterious sign" hails from Pokémon Red/Blue. It is a question from the Cinnabar Gym: "TM28 contains Tombstoner?"
Now, what is Tombstoner? Was it a planned move? What was it meant to do? Will we see it in the future? Will it be TM28 then?

I really want to see Tombstoner in the future; make it like an awesomely powerful super-move. :P
I just looked it up and the direct japanese translation from the game for "Tombstoner" is "Die Die Beam". I prefer the second one :P
Let's bring up my favorite.
In Super Mario Galaxy 2, in Shiverburn Galaxy and part of Grandmaster, we have THESE things staring at us:
(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi.crackedcdn.com%2Fphpimages%2Farticle%2F2%2F2%2F7%2F55227.jpg%3Fv%3D1&hash=d07fed895e5e505e47c36c821b6bfe3f4777cb13)
Shiverburn, they're just there. The whole time. Watching you.
And the sky pattern for this area is called "BeyondHellValley". The shapes are called "HellValleySkyTree"
Zoom in?
THEY ARE NOT TREES.

what the hell are they and why are they there
also, Die Die Beam sounds like the best move ever
O_O Legitly creeped out now.
I saw it on Cracked.com a while ago and I went to Shiverburn and checked it out

I swear I've seen these before, but I forgot about them once I looked away.
OH GOD THE SILENCE ARE IN MARIO
THEY ARE THE REAL ALIENS
Ok, Bubbles Nebbles you just seriously creeped me out. And it's night here in the west. Great, I'm expecting nightmares tonight.
Bubbles?? You mean me right I posted that
Aha, yes, sorry Nebbles! (although I'm not sure it's such a good thing to take credit for that scary shit)
B] I love VG creepypasta so I'm fine with the credit.
Okay, how about the pirate message in FireRed/LeafGreen?
If you're playing a pirated copy of the game, the sailor who takes your ticket to the S.S. Anne says, "Oh, by the way, if you like this game, buy it or die."
...wat...

That's pretty cool.
@Nebbles :o That's really creepy. But maybe a hint of a new Nintendo series involving aliens? :O
Also the "L is real", was a hint that Luigi was/is going to be in Paper Mario 64. Nothing sus' 'bout it t'all.

...
1: It was Super Mario 64, I believe?
2: That text is really... uh... not really-so clear.
"... Uncouth trainers have been holding battles in the UNDERGROUND PATH.
Because of rising complaints by local residents, the UNDERGROUND PATH has been sealed indefinitely.
CELADON POLICE"
How many other people spent hours trying to figure out how to get in there and battle these mysterious trainers? Kanto in Gen. II was just a huge tease from GameFreak.
^ This. Is it even possible??

Hehehe. Why not try and battle? :P
I felt like there wasn't enough of Kanto... but I can understand why.
Maybe because having two regions in one Pokemon game was a LOT?
or they half-assed kanto
Well they kinda had to focus more on Johto since it was the most important region in the games, so I don't think they half-assed it.
I think they made Johto great. Then they put in Kanto and they ran out room/time for more so they were like, "Well, no Underground Tunnel/Cinnabar Residents"
Problem, le solved :D

I can even understand about Cinnabar (good for backstory purposes): but there was NO Safari Zone at all; not even in Johto (National Park doesn't really count). Kanto felt a little abandoned (as if Johto had, in more than one way, overshadowed it).
Oh, there was a safari zone in Kanto. It just wasn't accessible through normal means, or even programmed properly, but it was there.

For some reason, Pokémon could be found there through fishing. Note the lack of a proper "shoreline" around the water.

Yeah, I've heard about that before; but that's what I meant (it isn't able to be accessed normally).
