Title: ThunderBird2678's Arrangement (s)
Post by: ThunderBird2678 on February 11, 2013, 01:55:28 PM
Hello, everyone, I'm ThunderBird2678 and I just started arranging music. I feel that there aren't enough people who play Fire Emblem to arrange all its great songs, so that's what I'm up to. Constructive criticism is welcomed!

Finished

That's just awesome! Is it really your first arrangement?! Really really good! :D
I haven't ever heard the original song, but I must say that it sounds amazing. On top of that the key signature is correct, all notes are very well placed, and well placed naturals! Really impressive. Can't wait to see the opening movie theme from RD.

Hope to see you around here more often now! Welcome! :D

Well, I do play a lot of instruments, and I have a lot of experience with all of them, so that might be why this one came more or less naturally to me. The key signature I figured out by using my Scales book and playing all the minor chords and seeing which one sounded the best and arranging from there. Thanks for the feedback!

Yo! I'm Jompa, nice to meet you.

Your arrangement is at a very high level. I haven't heard the original song before, but the arrangement appears to be extremely well balanced and thought through!

There is only one thing I can critique - and that is at the measures #6 & #38:
What you've done here is you've notated B♮ (B natural), but in the next measure there is a Bb (B flat). This makes it confusing to read. The correct way to fix this and notate this would be to notate the B♮ as a Cb (C flat).
Cb is the same tone as B♮, enharmonically, so playing this on the piano wouldn't make a difference at all, but in the sheet notation this is the correct way to do it.

That is all. Other than that it is perfect!

Welcome to the site, ThunderBird! :)

But how about making a list of arrangements your going to do.
Because I'd like to know what else you will arrange.

So far this is the best first arrangement I've seen turned out from ANYONE. :O

Welcome to the site Thunderbird!  I don't know if this will interest you at all, but I just arranged "Eternal Bond" from Radiant Dawn.  Check it out! (http://www.ninsheetm.us/smf/index.php?topic=4339.0)  I love the music too, though I haven't played the games.

New sheet music! Kinda pointless ones really, but it's there.

P.S. I'm starting my new YouTube channel to show off my music. So yeah... I'd be more than happy if I get a few subscribers. It's called KaiHuangArrangements. Please Subscribe!

Please?... :-[

Officially, I play trumpet. UNOfficially... well, I learn instruments fast...  :P

I didn't even realize that I haven't updated in a while. Okay, here's what I've been up to.

1. Doing my ISP (Independent Study Project) for school. I presented today, so I won't have to worry about that anymore!
2. Writing my Fanfic. Self-Insert based on Fire Emblem 9&10, yadda yadda yadda. I won't bore you guys with that.
3. Working on Sonata Pathetique and Fantasie Impromptu.
4. Trying to arrange pop songs... which isn't quite easy...
5. Making something for the talent show. <--- The most important one. My friends and I are doing a huge flute/trumpet/piano/percussion collab based on the Main Theme from Skyrim.

'Kay, that's that. I've sorta put the opening theme on hold as of now, but I'm thinking of doing "Trouble!" from Shadow Dragon - as requested here ---> http://www.ninsheetm.us/smf/index.php?topic=4643.0

Yay! Updated with the Skyrim main theme!

It's sort of different from the original, but I personally quite like it!

If anyone would like the entire flute/trumpet/piano arrangement for the Skyrim theme, PM me. I'm too lazy to format that to ninsheetmusic guidelines and stuff...
