TWG L just looks so weird.
Quote from: master_gamer38 on March 10, 2013, 11:04:29 PMTWG L just looks so weird.
Yeah; compared to all the numbers we've had recently, it seems... so empty...
Oh, just you wait until TWG C.
Or D.
Or... M. :o
Or M.
Or O, it's just one big empty circle.
I don't know if that's even a roman numeral.
We should all be allowed to post a game as long as it's special and not been seen before. ((((:
well golly gee guys, guess i gotta go and get this to be the Last twg if youre all complaining about it
Dude, TWG M better be awesome. I think our ancestors would love to be a part of that.
Now with Magic Conch!
Magic Conch: Starts with the vigi. During Night 1, he must pass it to another player. Let's call that player Jimmy. During Night 2, Jimmy has two jobs:
First, Jimmy must put two names into the conch.
Second, Jimmy must pass the conch to a third player who cannot be the vigi. Let's call this person Bobby. If Jimmy tries to pass the Conch to the vigi, I'll decide who gets it via random number generator.
Bobby may put two names into the conch as well during Night 3.
At the start of Day 3, if neither Jimmy nor Bobby is a wolf, the conch will release the list of the people whose names were put in the Conch and how many of those people are wolves, zombies, specials, and humans, but not which ones go with which roles. It will also tell the thread that Jimmy and Bobby held the conch. If one of Jimmy or Bobby is a wolf, the conch will say nothing. If either Jimmy is killed Night 1 or Day 1 or Bobby is killed Night 2, or Day 2, the conch explodes. I'll tell the thread if the Conch explodes.
TWG: Zombies
As I mentioned in my last post here, I'm designing a game in which everyone gets a death posts, except for a few people, that is. I'm expecting it to function as a pseudo-cardflip, in which people have to weigh the benefits of confirming their humanity with waiting until late in the game to give much-needed insight or push an important suspicion.
Wolves
1. Master Wolf
2. Wolf Shaman: Does not get a death post
3. Wolf Totem: Once per game, may replace the Totem Guy's Totem with a Totem of his own. He also gets two guesses of the Totem Guy's identity per day phase. If the Totem Guy dies or takes over the role of another Zombie, he gets to write ALL the totems. Does not get a death post
Humans
4. Guardian: In order to guard the seer or vigilante, must reduce their power use by 1 each attempted guarding. He also gets three guesses of the Totem Guy's identity on Day 1. When he dies, he has one phase to decide who he passes his power to. If he selects a Wolf or a Zombie, that player will gain a guardian power (with the same limitations) and the ability to choose whether or not their vote counts. If he selects a human, that player will lose their vote but gain a Guardian ability with the same limitations as the original Guardian. Does not get a Death post
5. Seer: 5 uses of power. May only use one per night.
6. Vigilante: 3 uses of power. May only use one per night. Begins with the Magic Conch!
7. Human:
8. Human: All human roles are the same.
9. Human:
10. Human:
11. Human:
12. Human:
13. Human:
Zombies
14. Zombie Leader: Beginning Night 2, he may bite dead bodies. If, on any night, he bites the same player the Grave Robber resurrects, that person becomes a Zombie follower. The Zombie leader may direct each one of his Zombie followers to kill one person per night. May not be revived. Does not know his partners.
15. Grave Robber: Beginning Night 2, he may choose one of the people who are in the graveyard each night to resurrect. If he and the Zombie Leader choose the same person, that person will be revived and kill one person at the command of the Zombie leader PER NIGHT. If he selects someone the Zombie Leader doesn't pick, that person can just come back to life. Does not get a death post. Does not know his partners.
16. Totem Guy: May post a Totem each night. If, by Day 2, neither the Wolf Totem or Guardian have guessed his identity, he will learn the identities of the Zombie Leader and the Grave Robber. If either the Zombie Leader or Grave Robber dies, he may take over for them, becoming green as well. Does not get a death post. May not be revived. Does not know his partners.
Important notes:
1. Zombie followers are people resurrected by the Grave Robber and bitten by the Zombie Leader on the same night. If the Zombie leader bites someone on Night 3 and they're resurrected Night 4 (or vice versa), that person simply comes back to life. Zombie followers do not count toward the Zombie win condition.
2. If a person becomes a zombie follower once and is lynched, they can't become a zombie follower once more. They could still theoretically be revived, they just can't be controlled to kill people.
3. Win Conditions: The humans win when they eliminate both the wolves and the Zombies. The wolves win when their number equals the number of humans + the number of Zombies remaining. The Zombies win when their number equals the number of humans + the number of Wolves remaining. The Zombies' win condition overrides the wolves' win condition.
I like the magic conch idea, what happens if the people that were put into the conch die?
That could potentially end up as 2 people only being alive in the conch, 1 is special, one is wolf/zombie...
Is Verm going to win this by default?
No because I'll vote for Yugi.
not unless i make a game myself and split all the votes so that a random other person wins
Well I'm not even allowed to host
I don't like faction games.
I would like to re-play a game like Sauce Is Pretty Coll or Trick of the Trade.
I want to host a replay of Sauce is Pretty Coll. Can I?

TWG L: A Role Reunion
Wolves:
1. Skuntank - Master Wolf Coroner
Every time a player dies, this player will be told the dead player's role. (TWG XXXIX: Perfect Apples)
2. Mr. Mutou - Negation Wolf Expeller
Sends a message to the host every Night Phase with a name of a player. That player's power will fail. Can send a message to the host during any phase, multiple times in the same phase if needed, with the name of a player and a role. If the player and role correlate, the player will die. If not, Mr. Mutou may not expel that role or player from the game. (TWG XXX: Disability Girls)
3. Andrew Jackson - Duelist wolf
If in a KitB he will always survive. In the result of a KitB with three or more players, he can choose a player that will be ignored in the dice roll (a free pass). Unlimited uses. If the Hero of Hope becomes a wolf, Andrew Jackson becomes a Human. (TWG XXXVII: Time for a History lesson)
Independents:
Independents don't count for any team.
4. Messenger
Sends the name of one player every phase to the Host. At the end of that Phase, that player and the Messenger will both be aware of the player's role. (However, the player will not know who the Messenger is.) (TWG XIX: Mind Games)
5. Happy Mask Salesman - Wolfsbane
Will be told what players have a Latern at the beginning of the night. However, he can only share this information through the chat (this includes private chat). (TWG XLVIII: 72 Hours Remaining)
6. Strange Man - Wolfsbane
Can guess the names of all players with laterns during the night phase. If he's correct, those players and all players seer'd red (wolves except for skuntank and millers) will die and the laterns will be lost. (TWG IX: The Latern keeper)
Humans:
7. Magnus - Morph
During the day he will select a username (by PM) and effectively "become" that player for the course of the following night. (Ex/ If Magnus selects a wolf, he may vote for wolfings). If this player attempts to morph into the Strange man, the morphing will result in becomming a normal human. If this player morphs into Mr. Mutou, he'll die at the end of the night phase. (TWG XL: Uprising Madness).
8. Hero of Hope – Tribune
Sends in a tribune 150 words or less. Has a 20% chance of becomming a wolf at the start of the game.
9. Maya Fey - Medium
Every Night phase, can PM the host two questions to ask any dead player in the game. At the end of the phase, the Medium recieves the answers to the questions. The dead person doesn't have to be truthful in answering these questions. (TWG XVI: Objection)
10. Daisy
Will be told she's a human. Will receive a PM upon death notifying her of her role. May choose to reveal the role of one person after she dies. (TWG XLII: Waluigi Time)
11. Scientist - Herring
Will be told he's a human. (TWG XXVIII: Pokémon Black and White)
12. Raiden who hisses - Miller
In the Day Phase update, if Raiden is alive a hiss sound will be heard. Will be told he's a human. (TWG XXXVIII: Snakes on a Plane)
Items:
Armor of Achilles - This item is sent to a random human (not the traitor) at the start of the game. This armor, when in the possession of a player, will protect him from being wolfed, but not lynched. If the player is lynched with the armor, then the armor is lost forever. The player can choose to send the armor to any other player by PM'ing the host and letting him know which player to send it to. (TWG VI: Rise of the Olympians)
3 Lanterns of the Night: These Lanterns are given to three random players, but not to Independents. Also, if the first two Laterns are given to wolves or the traitor, the final one will be given to a random human (except traitor) so that at the start of the game there's at least one Latern in human possesion. Holding a Lantern allows the player to know the names of the other players with Lanterns. Every Night phase, the three players with lanterns will submit one vote each to the host in order to choose one person who is currently holding a lantern to be seer'd. The person with the most votes is then seer'd (in the event of a tie vote, a KiaB occurs). The seering results will then be sent to the other two players with lanterns who were not seer'd. By PM'ing the host, laterns can be passed to a random other player, but never to an independent. The players with Lanterns will always know who has the other lanterns. Whether or not they allow anyone who doesn't hold a lantern to possess their knowledge is entirely up to them. If a player holding a latern dies, he'll keep the latern in his tomb (as in the strange man must still guess that person). (TWG IX: The Latern Keeper)
Wolves know eachother (Roleflip of Hero of Hope/Andrew Jackson is done before the wolves are told what players are there partners). Humans and Independents don't know eachother.
Win Conditions:
HMS and/or Latern Keeper≥Wolves+Humans: Independents win.
Wolves≥Independents+Humans (consisting of at least one human or the Messenger): Wolves win.
Wolves are dead and Independents≥Humans: Independents win.
Wolves and Independents are dead and there is at least one human alive: Humans Win.
Don't faction games have equal teams?
Zombies just has a third party.
Well excuse me for not caring what's the difference.
TWG L: Sauce is Pretty Coll REDO:
Brutal Wolf Painter - Has painting powers (Paintings are not permanent and only last the Night Phase). Elects one of his/her voters to die.
Brutal Wolf Shaman - Has seer powers. Elects one of his/her voters to die.
Traitor - Gains seer powers at the end of day 3.
Hunter - Has seer powers. Must catch the traitor by the end of day 3. At the end of each day he/she submits a name. If that person is the traitor, they die immediately. If he fails to send the correct name by the end of Day 3, he dies.
Guardian - Powers fail on blues.
Brutal Human - When lynched, chooses a Player that voted for him/her and kills him/her.
Millwright - Is told he/she is Human.

Quote from: Waddle Bro on March 12, 2013, 02:49:01 PMWell excuse me for not caring what's the difference.
I don't like that tone Mr!
Yeah, no need to be rude Waddle.
And the difference really can be compared in different ways, just depends what kind of faction/third party games you're talking about.
Main difference really is faction games have teams with equal players whereas third party games don't always.
Mashi can you please not put my game into the poll as I wasn't being serious about it?
mashi when does this go up
as soon as bird posts his top quality game
Poll will be up tomorrow whenever I come back from tennis practice. So 7PM EST or so.
I want to sign in.
Okay Wolf, but first it's probably best to read a thread before posting in it :P. This is the host signups, this is where we will first pick the game and corresponding host that we want to play. After this there will be a player signup where we can all go to signup for the game!
Poll will be up shortly!
Also, wolf, please read the rules (http://www.ninsheetm.us/smf/index.php?topic=956.msg14775#msg14775) for next TWG, so that you won't have to clarify things during the game.
Just a question, If we come in second place in a game, can we submit a different game for sign ups instead of the game we got second with?
Yes.
Nothing says the opposite.
I'm going with Davy's. I want to be Mutou again!!! :DDDD
you haven't seen my game yet
;_;
i forgot to set the poll results to invisible, whoops
You know what? I might as well go out with a big TWG. This is my last TWG.
What? Why? >.<
Would it be too much trouble to reset the poll and have everyone revote with invisible results? Only 1/3 of the regulars have voted so far, and I want the votes to be as impartial as possible, if it's of no trouble.
I guess you can (speaking for everyone here :P)
3 Skype people say yes, which is nearly half, so I'm on it!!!
Sorry for the trouble, everyone, please revote!
NOOOOOOOO
3 people + Bubbles7689.
Majority, yay.
By the way, the poll will be up for two days or until someone reaches a 5 vote lead.
I'd hate if davy wins before I even get to post my game in the balancing thread.
I waited 12 games to host this and I guess if he wins I'll host this on the TWG 75.
Hey davy, are you going to add new roles for expansion goals?
This is... a rather difficult choice...
Quote from: Yugi on March 13, 2013, 06:39:51 PMHey davy, are you going to add new roles for expansion goals?
I hope that I get exactly 12 players for my game. However, if there are more players that want to play the game, I will add roles from other games to it.
I've been having trouble filling the roles also XD
I had a dream that blueflower won.
:o
This is a tough choice! davy's game is a bit of a spiritual cousin to my planned submission for LLF's 50th TWG, actually:
Spoiler
After Dark Koopa and his friend Fiver find themselves fondly reminiscing about years-old TWGs for the forty-second time on YIM, they decide to give monument to memory by building the world's first TWG-themed amusement park. But when guests begin to go missing during the park's opening weekend and turn up days later ravaged with claw marks, the two are left wondering whether their nostalgic meddling has awakened the sinister spirits of werewolves past. Who among the park's patrons--and themselves--can be trusted? The answer lies behind the massive gates of sprawling...

THE AREA SYSTEM
This game has an item system, and for the [strike]first[/strike] second time ever, a full-fledged area system. Players' traits will change depending on what area they are in, and there may be certain events that affect players in a given area.
There are eight areas in RETROTWGWORLD:
Castle Koopa, site of Lemmy Koopa's death in TWG III.
El El Eff High, the notoriously gangster-ridden high school of TWG IV fame.
iDOWN's House, where iDOWN and Seizure Man might be found downing a box of Count Chocula, TWG VI-style.
Wolfsbane Island, home of legendary wolf-catcher and estate law scam artist Frank P. Wolfsbane, immortalized in TWG VII.
TWGbay Corporate Headquarters, recently re-acquired from eBay after the company liquidated its assets following its Chapter 11 filing in 2009's TWG IX.
The Kampground, where legend has it Kooks is still listening eagerly to counselor iDOWN's tales of lupine treachery and deceit, which began in TWG I.
If a player's destination is too far to go on foot, he might try crossing idyllic Howl at the Moon Lagoon via one of RETROTWGWORLD's two flagship vessels: the Queen Lemmy, Captain General Toad's swashbuckling pirate ship from TWG VIII, or the S. S. Chaos, skippered by TWG XII's Yellow Snifit.

- Counts as a member of the human team regardless of which team he chooses to side with for endgame purposes.
- Wins if the team he sides with wins, regardless of whether or not he survives. If he dies before he chooses a side, he loses.

HOW AREAS WORK
It's not complicated, I swear...
At the beginning of the game, everyone is placed in an area. Players may attempt to change what area they are in by PMing the host during any phase of play.
Each area has a number of slots that people can occupy. If all slots in an area are filled, the area is full and any attempts by players to move into the area will fail, unless they have an item or power that permits them to enter regardless. Leaving an area takes chronological precedence over entering an area.
Once inside an area, you will receive an Area Details PM showing what players are in the area, what slots they are occupying, and what players leave or enter the area.
Example:
Hi Someone/Anyone, you are at Castle Koopa.
You failed to move to iDOWN's House.
From here you can go to El El Eff High, iDOWN's House, or the Queen Lemmy.
axemblue4 has left the area.
Nighthawk has entered the area.
1. Nighthawk
2. Someone/Anyone
3. (Empty Slot)
4. Vera
5. (Empty Slot)
6. (Empty Slot)
To move to an area, PM the host with what area you want to move to. You can also include some specifications as to what slot you want to be put in (though you don't have to), such as:
Put me in Slot [number].
(The host will put you in the slot you specify if available. If not, he will put you in the closest available slot.)
Put me in the [number]th available slot.
(The host will put you in the available slot you specify; if fewer spots are available, the host will put you in the closest available slot.)
Put me anywhere.
(The host will use random.org to select an available slot.)
RETROTWGWORLD is laid out as follows:
(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi613.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Ftt220%2FTwoFutures3%2FRETROTWGWORLDMap.png&hash=1e924fc7cd7cf669c50041c0428de8d7bc63b37d)
HOW ITEMS WORK
I don't want to see anyone complain about being a Boring Human again.
Items can be used during any phase of play. All players have 3 item slots unless otherwise specified
If a player finds or receives an item while his inventory is full, he must either drop or give away an item in his inventory to make room for it or discard the new item. All items can be passed to anyone at any time, except for balloons. Players are stuck with those.
If a player moves into a slot with an item, he will automatically find that item. If a player decides not to move during a phase, he may search one of the empty slots in his current area for any items it contains. If that slot contains an item, he will automatically find it.
If a player is killed while holding one or more items, those items may become scattered in and around the area and slot in which he was killed. Enterprising players should seek out those areas and spots and scavenge accordingly!
ITEM DESCRIPTIONS
Choose your weapon!
Red Orb: Hey, it's a free vigi kill! One-time use.
Yellow Orb: Hey, it's a free seering! One-time use.
Blue Orb: Hey, it's a free guarding! One-time use. The player may choose himself.
Red Balloon: It has a picture of Dark Koopa on it, and it spells the holder's doom! He is cursed and will die in 3-5 phases unless he finds a needle to pop it with.
Yellow Balloon: Adorned with GT's handsome mug. A player may release this balloon at any time, but upon release it will flash the color of his role. If a player dies while holding a Yellow Balloon, his card will be flipped.
Blue Balloon: OH GAWD THERE'S A PICTURE OF LIGGY ON IT UGH. If a player has this balloon, all players in his area under the effects of a guard will be rendered vulnerable. No one is safe!
Needle: A player may use this to pop balloons (unlimited uses) or use it to blind someone (after which the needle will be lost).
Box of Lucky Charms: Grabbed out of Seizure Man's hands just before he could add milk, this box of cereal brings good luck to the holder. Any attempts on his life have a 40% chance of failing! Also, he can use it to clear out an area by scattering the cereal out in public. Goes stale and must be thrown out after four phases.
Sex on the Beach: Yeah, it's kind of a girly drink, but it's popular on the S. S. Chaos, and it will cure the player from the effects of any abnormal state except Cursed.
Giant Golden Carrot: SG's weapon of choice from Where There's a Will, There's a Wolf. It can be used to kill a player... but the wielder had better be wearing a Rabbit Suit!
Rabbit Suit: Wearing this will cause the player to show up as "Fiver" in other players' Area PMs. I know, it's awesome. A player needs to be wearing it in order to wield the Giant Golden Carrot.
Rocket Barrel: A leftover piece of weapons technology from The Werewolf War, this looks like it could make for a mean rocket launcher... but there's no trigger or stock. There's not even a rocket to launch.
Stock & Trigger Set: Hey, it's more weapons tech from The Werewolf War! It looks like this goes on a rocket launcher... but there's no barrel and no rockets to launch.
Rocket: Ammunition for a rocket launcher. Those Werewolf War guys really need to learn how to clean up after themselves. If a player is killed by a rocket, his items are permanently destroyed and he cannot be resurrected.
Swiss Army Knife: Somewhat useful around the kampfire, even more useful to kill your fellow players in TWG. They're so resilient they'll remain lying on the spot were their victim was last found for another player to pick up.
Shield Generator: So much crazy stuff is happening out there. Players have a right to protect themselves! Never fear, for TWGbay Enterprises' trusty Shield Generator will protect them from item/weapon kills and seerings. Loses power after 4 phases, and is redistributed to someone else with a full charge.
Clone: When you Can't Trust Anybody, rely doubly on yourself! Designed by that mad scientist Liggy as a perfect likeness of a player, a player's clone allows him to go wherever he wishes as it will elbow other players out of the way to make room for the player in an area. If the player is targeted to be killed, the Clone will sacrifice its life for him, but the Clone's death will be so saddening that the player will use the will to use items for two phases.
HOW STATES WORK
Stay sharp!
There are certain circumstances in which a special state may apply to a player. All states last for four phases unless otherwise noted.
Normal State: Nothing special.
Blind State: Player cannot tell which area he is in or who is in his area. However, he may still move to other areas. (I wonder what unknown area #2 is?) He cannot identify items.
Cursed State: Player is cursed to die in 3-5 phases.
Imprisoned State: Player cannot change areas.
Weakened State: Player cannot use any powers or items.
Man, that thing would have taken about eight hours to update. Anyway, I'm looking forward to playing whatever wins!
This would be a fantastic game, Thiannon. I might actually play this one too.

davy, you may participate in the next Host Sign Ups.
Well that was surprising.
Sorry I was gone for most of the day! I'll be out of the house for the majority of tomorrow as well, but should sign-ups fill that quickly I could theoretically send out PM's tomorrow night.
