So, it looks like no one has started this thread...so...who here enjoys LEGO? Or wants to speak about it?
Eh, if you want to talk lego's you'd probably best go to BDS's creation thread.
A very select few people here like legos and the ones who do mainly prefer BIONICLE.
^ this
Out of curiosity, what do you expect to discuss in the LEGO thread that will last more than a few pages?
@BlueFlower
Just recent or upcoming Legos, Lego games, Lego stuff. Idk, I really have no life at all, so I've got to do something.
My guess would be legos
EDIT: Shedinja'd
I'm tempted to suggest that this should go in the gaming topic, but eh. This is probably the greatest topic you've thought of yet, at the risk of encouraging you to make more (But please don't d: ).
Legos are the shit tbh. I had tons of them and Bionicles ^^ Nowadays they are really expensive, though.
I love Legos, don't really have the time to devote to them anymore, though. Though I will pick up a collectors set once in a while.
Yeah, I love Lego. But I don't really have any. I do have 3 collectors sets, however; The Death Star, Tower Bridge, wait nvm, 2.
I've got a ton. Years ago, I calculated 40000+ bricks in sets alone. I've probably got that at least again in spare parts.
Oh. Btw, goodbye Maelstrom.
.....wait, what?
Nvm, MaestroUGC changed my mind. So, what's your favorite Lego?
Not much anymore. I sort of grew out of them, but I still have a ton. imo, 2002--2008 were the best years for legos.
Absolutely! They're just re-hashing them now. I kinda did like Galaxy Squad, from 2012 though, but Mars Mission from 2008 was best.
Yes it was.
Yes. It. Was.
2008. And yes MaestroUGC. Yes. It. Was.
ftfy is an acronym for "Fixed That For You," which is commonly used on forums and other internet stuffs. When I changed it to 2001, I was referring to the Life on Mars (http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Life_on_Mars) series.
Mars mission was still better than Life On Mars.
Anyways, could you go on your WiiU, accept my friend request, and then open a room for smash? Or are you busy?

not to accept your friend request... ???
The LoM aliens were better by far.
But MM has this (http://brickset.com/sets/7699-1/MT-101-Armoured-Drilling-Unit). (And so do I)

Yep! Now what others conversations to ruin with this newfound power?...mwahah!
The majority of my LEGO are back at my parents' house, sealed and waiting for my approval before my nephew can be unleashed upon them. He's rather curious about the "moped" (http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/8422) on the shelf in my room, but he's definitely too young for that.
Speaking of shelves, I have some LEGO in my current residence as well.
This was gifted to me by my sister last Christmas

That's the astronaut from the Shuttle Launch Pad (http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/6339_Shuttle_Launch_Pad). I have the whole Launch Command set. Damn I loved that as a kid.
is that the same sister whose birthday is the same as NSM's anniversary
I've got this Lego the other week, cause I live near THE LEGO STORE!!!
It's called the Ultra Agents HQ.
Really cool, but 2009s was better.
Quote from: NocturneOfShadow on January 05, 2015, 01:43:58 PMis that the same sister whose birthday is the same as NSM's anniversary
Nope, LEGO from the second eldest sister (also the mom of the aforementioned nephew). Youngest sister shares the birthday with NSM.
Might as well put this topic to good use. Presenting: news from NY Toy Fair!
- A new UCS set was announced- 75095 TIE Fighter (http://brickset.com/article/14207/ucs-tie-fighter-unveiled-at-ny-toy-fair). This goes along nicely with 10240 Red Five X-wing Starfighter (http://brickset.com/sets/10240-1/Red-Five-X-wing-Starfighter) from 2013.
- A new Darth Vader minifigure is being released in 75093 Death Star Final Duel. The new aspects of the figure can be seen here (http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-02-14-06.27.09.jpg), here (http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-02-14-06.27.24.jpg), here (http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-02-14-06.27.28.jpg), and here (http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-02-14-06.27.36.jpg).
- A line of Constraction "Battle Figures" are being released. The ones (officially) revealed thus far are Luke Skywalker (http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-02-14-04.41.16.jpg) and Darth Vader (http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-02-14-04.41.03.jpg).
- In the new DC sets (76034 The Batboat Harbour Pursuit and 76035 Jokerland), we are getting a Deathstroke (http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-02-14-04.52.50.jpg) minifigure, as well as Starfire (http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-02-14-04.54.35.jpg) and Beast Boy (http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-02-14-04.54.13.jpg) minifigures. Together with the Robin and Cyborg (http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/lego/images/6/63/New52Cyborg_Happy%21.png/revision/latest?cb=20141224001316) minifigures, we have a complete Teen Titans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:TeenTitansTogether.png) set of minifigures (wait... we still don't have Raven! Gasp!).
- Marvel, on the other hand, features Ant Man (http://images.brickset.com/sets/images/76039-1.jpg) and a bunch of (http://images.brickset.com/sets/images/76037-1.jpg) Spider-Mans (http://images.brickset.com/sets/images/76036-1.jpg) (Spider-Men?), plus some iconic villains, such as Carnage (http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-02-14-05.01.53.jpg), Sandman (http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-02-14-05.10.43.jpg), and Rhino (http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-02-14-05.08.29.jpg)! There's also a new Classic Green Goblin (http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-02-14-05.20.39.jpg), but it's in a Juniors set, so... eh...!
- LEGO City is having an underwater subtheme and space subtheme (the space one I find particularly (http://images.brickset.com/sets/images/60078-1.jpg) interesting (http://images.brickset.com/sets/images/60080-1.jpg)).
- MOAR BONKLES (http://www.bzpower.com/story.php?ID=7381).
- Jurassic World (http://brickset.com/article/14209/jurassic-world-images) is brining Dinosaurs back to LEGO (in my opinion, better overall than the 2012 Dino theme)! Yeah!
- LEGO Scooby Doo is really awesome and is really overdue (http://www.fbtb.net/2015/02/14/toy-fair-report-2015-lego-scooby-doo/).
- More minifigure-scale Minecraft sets are on the way (http://www.fbtb.net/2015/02/14/toy-fair-report-2015-minecraft/).
- Ninjago's new wave (http://brickset.com/article/14212/summer-ninjago-set-images) features some pretty interesting things (http://www.bzpower.com/story.php?ID=7382)...
- Behold the glory. (http://images.brickset.com/sets/images/70734-1.jpg)
And that concludes notable news from the NY Toy Fair! I will update this post if there's anything I missed.

Aha, I have that exact set. At some point some parts of his neck went missing though so he's presently decapitated...
mariolegofan here.
I actually love legos! I'm really interested in getting that hellacarrier.
I don't really like that new tie fighter at all. The only tie that I've ever liked was the 10175 Tie Advance. Oh man, I wish I still had that set. I used to have almost all of the Star Wars Ultimates, but sold them because I kind of grew up. I still kept my favorite though, the UCS 101219 Snowspeeder. God damn, I want another Lego now.
Edit: well f*ck, the 10175 is now going upwards of $400 on ebay. I sold mine two years ago for $120. graaaaah
Whoa really? My brother has one of those in his room... neato

The LEGO Buzz: Controversy in Bricks
"To Sticker or not to Sticker? Stickers in Sets"
Stickers are a very controversial topic to LEGO fanatics all over the world: many people dislike them; some people tolerate them; others say they're absolutely necessary, that they finish a design; yet, other people argue that there should be more printing in sets, rather than stickers. Shall we look further into this issue?
First, you may think "What's wrong with stickers? Kids love stickers, and they give you the option to not apply them!" Therein lies the problem: applying the stickers. If you have small fingers, applying the stickers may not be too troublesome, but if you have larger fingers, applying stickers accurately becomes frustrating and tedious. Even worse, if you apply a sticker lopsided, or flat out incorrectly, taking it off properly is quite near impossible (larger stickers are the worst offenders here- even if one part is straight, the opposite end of it could turn out wrong)! If stickers are so vital to the design, why not just go the extra mile and use printing? There are plenty of sets that use printing, so why do certain pieces use stickers instead? I would also argue that printing has a nicer appearance, as you don't see ridges from the edges from the stickers.
(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.brickset.com%2Fsets%2FAdditionalImages%2F70504-1%2F70504_alt3.jpg&hash=4c6934df8bab41ad690f7e2bf1f534aafa438180)
Somebody's getting fired for this...
I recently noticed this when I purchased and built 70789: Onua, Master of Earth yesterday. The set comes with two fairly large stickers that should be applied to the included chest piece (unlike the other sets in the theme, Onua is the only one without a printed chest piece, perhaps due to the larger size of his). As I mentioned earlier, the larger a sticker is, the harder it is to apply: the same applies here. The stickers are rather necessary, as without them, the rest of the purple on Onua looks scattered, giving him an overall empty look; however, they are difficult to align properly, something which may greatly irk perfectionists. With LEGO showing that they're willing to go the extra mile in printing- especially in regards to minifigures- why are stickers even necessary anymore? In most cases where printing/stickers would be necessary (such on larger pieces such as Onua's chest piece or pieces used in building castles and other large structures, perhaps not so much on smaller pieces such as those used in the current Speed Champions theme, which could easily be reused for different objects- yet, conversely enough, the stickers on these pieces are also difficult to apply for those of us with large fingers), there would be little to no impact on MOC'ers.
(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bzpower.com%2FImaging%2Fstories%2F70789_Onua_Master_of_Earth_18.jpg&hash=67523ad9fd31adaffc1e9b858ede214187dbe6e7)
Onua, Master of Earth. Picture from BZPower's review (http://www.bzpower.com/story.php?ID=7120).
Another example of sets with irksome sticker use are two sets from the Indiana Jones theme- both of which I own- 7625 River Chase (http://brickset.com/sets/7625-1/River-Chase) and 7626 Jungle Cutter (http://brickset.com/sets/7626-1/Jungle-Cutter). In these sets, there are stickers that cover multiple pieces, thus making taking apart the set difficult, as you have to struggle with holding the pieces together- essentially, the pieces have to be "stuck" together in order to properly utilize the sticker, something MOC'ers will most likely hate.
(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi.ebayimg.com%2F00%2Fs%2FMTIwMFgxNjAw%2Fz%2FBk0AAOxydlFS71EP%2F%24_35.JPG&hash=550a4ba2b37fa990ed8a78037271e3378d41e9ce)
The main offenders being the "CCCP" bricks in the bottom row.
And then... there's this. (http://brickset.com/article/11981/sticker-horror) Absolutely unacceptable.

This keeps people awake at night.
That concludes this edition of The LEGO Buzz: Controversy in Bricks. See you later, and happy building.
Stickers on a clear backing peel much less.

Sweet, people are actually talking in a thread i made. Life completed.
LEGO will no longer offer any further support or updates for LDD. Truly, January 2016 spares nothing. (http://brickset.com/article/18789/rip-ldd)
well if you like how it is now you're doin just fine
Well, we're not going to get any of the 2015 Bionicle pieces, or, like, a bunch of other stuff! :P
It's a shame to see it go. I personally didn't use it much (maybe once when I was, like, 7) but I know it's been a major tool for a lot of the AFoL community. Has Lego explicitly stated why it's being discontinued?
I don't think so, but people are speculating that they did because it wasn't providing profits after Design byME ended (and was kind-of replaced by Cuusoo/Ideas). Or, on a more hopeful note, some people are wondering if they're going to release a new, better program (possibly connected to LEGO Worlds in some way?).
Double-post because toy fair season (http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-nuremberg-toy-fair-2016-set-images/)!
Angry Birds | Not going to say much, but this seems like TMNT version 2: some cool designs, but some really weird or bad concepts mixed in. 75825 is probably the best set IMO because we haven't really gotten a weird cartoony pirate ship that looks like that before (3817 doesn't count because it was so small). I can't be mad about the hot dog bun, though!
Architecture | Not too bad, but I can't help but feel that the U.S. Capitol Building is a bit weird because it seems like most pictures of it don't show the roof, and even then, the roof is a bit too tall and a bit too dark (as in, you shouldn't be able to see very much of it when looking at it from straight in front).
BIONICLE | FSJSJSJSJD. WHERE DO I BEGIN.? Toa-sized Ekimu is radical (is that a red Umarak mask? Please let it be so); with printing, everything looks so much better, especially the completely trans-blue Mask of Creation (and Ekimu makes the torso armor work, I think). Lava Beast is probably the weakest of the beasts (maybe it's just the angle?), though that color scheme is a solid A+. Storm Beast is pretty good and, IMO, has the best proportions of the three. Quake Beast is my personal favorite of the three because I think the asymmetry works well with it, and... purple. And then... H-H-H-HOLY UMARAK! I have no words to describe that. Is that a mutated Mask of Control (possibly, ahem, controlling him?)? Interesting to note the masks included with the three beasts- seems like we're getting a repeat of the whole "mask draining" thing. Also, it seems that they have non-gearbox gear functions like the Creatures. I'm guessing that Umarak is going to have a feature like Skull Basher (just look at the similar build toward the back), as well as something having to do with the hands.
City | The highlight of this wave is that it actually comes with a brick-built volcano. I'm very interested to see what's going on inside there... Drilling stuff looks fine, and the dark blue crystals are pretty tempting (though, personally, as someone who isn't much a fan of the way most of the City helicopters are built, I feel that 60124 and 60122 are the best of the wave). 60132 is all right, although it could look a little more like a gas station (with only 1-2 pumps, that has got to be one of the worst gas stations ever :P). 60134 deserves a special mention, because of all those wonderful minifigures (and HOT DOG BUN), especially the guy in the wheelchair and the baby (I know everybody is already talking about these, but for good reason!). Other than those two, the fence painter, lawn mower (if you count the lawn mower itself as an accessory), chef (?), and bearded guy are pretty neat. Airport stuff is pretty iffy, but 60103 really hits it out of the park.
Creator | By the time I got to this, I had officially decided that 2016 is going to be a good year in LEGO. Let's see what we've got! Moose and Cabin, Whale, Birds, and Fishies + Lighthouse, Treehouse with Birds and Stuff, and RV + Bear (insert The Revenant joke here). Seriously, minifigure-scale Creator is really awesome.
DC Super Heroes | "NOT Suicide Squad" set is meh, aside from the minifigures. Scarecrow set is decent, and the Killer Croc set comes with a cool Batman vehicle (by this point, I think we're getting Batman'd out), but looks a little goofy overall (Killer Croc's vehicle is a set of flimsy-looking chompers on wheels. Huh). But... is that a pair of NEW boomerangs!?
DUPLO | Not much to say, but 10825 is pretty funny, I have to admit (and apparently more Disney stuff as well? How long has this been going on for). :P
Disney Princess | Also not much to say, except "NO!" WHY are we not getting Beast as a minifigure? WHY. This would be a really cool set if it were done in a more "normal" LEGO style, but that minidoll Beast just hurts my heart... :P
Elves | Dragons make everything better.
Friends | Not going to say anything about most of the sets, but the basketball hoop in 41127 reminds me of something I made for... nevermind... :) It has nice printing/stickers also. 41129 also confirms that LEGO 2016 is the year of the hot dog (and apparently that hot dog suit piece is getting used again). I can't help but laugh at the "roller coaster" in 41130; IMO, it should have been branded as more of a "monorail" type thing.
Juniors | Also not much to say, but 10724 is pretty nice for a Juniors set (yes, I'm talking about the Lex Luthor mech).
Marvel Super Heroes | 76057 isn't as good as I imagined, but still has a SOLID minifigure lineup. I think the bridge is a bit too messy; also, perhaps my expectations were a little too high because I was expecting more of a bridge, rather than just a half-ish portion. 76058 is nice, except... why Spiderman? I like the Doc Ock mech in 76059- really sturdy-looking.
Minecraft | Minecraft started out a fairly nice theme, but it's becoming more of a definite niche thing as they start to run out of ideas (but really, they still have quite a lot they could still do, IMO). 21123, 21125, and 21126 are nice (I like the third one particularly because I already have 21122), but 21124 and 21127 are a bit on the... out there side. Getting different printed pieces from Minecraft are always cool, though.
Nexo Knights | Slightly more "hit" than "miss." 70320 (love that shape!) and 70323 (is that a fiery Sarlacc pit?) are great, and 70322 and 70321 are fair (great minifigures in both, though; I'm interested to see what the conversion feature of 70321 is. 70319 and 70318 are more on the "meh" side, though, because 70319 is too packed with weapons for its small size (otherwise, though, the vehicle is pretty nice), and 70318 is a nice small set but not much more. Ultimate Axl is solidly terrible (so much yellow doesn't look good, plus completely mediocre accessories), Ultimate Flama is all right (good weapons, but questionable backpack-thing), Ultimate General Magmar is pretty good (though not the Pokemon), and Ultimate Lance is decent.
Ninjago | 70588 is pretty good, though I don't know why the Nindroids don't have their hoods. The vehicle is a bit compact, and not for everyone, but still good. The vehicle of 70589 is pretty bad-looking, but the figures are nice, especially the Stone Warriors (and that shield... mmmmm). 70591 is spectacular for the size (so many figures, plus a nice ninja-looking prison. 70592 is good, if a bit Bioshock-esque; might get it because I'm still not sure if I'd be willing to get 70735 just for the awesomesauce Ronin (you are missing the hat, I assume, though it looks like there's one attached to the mech anyway, along with stuff like... a skateboard!?). 70593 is amazing- great dragon, and excellent mix between good guy stuff and bad guy stuff- who would have thought we'd get such a nice catapult in a non-Castle theme? 70594 is a really nice building also, just showing how Ninjago is great for both vehicles AND buildings, with a nice figure selection. Finally, 70595, which, IMO, isn't as cool-looking as the original Ultra Sonic Raider, but still good in its own right (though I do like the tiles representing where each ninja should go- I think they have Jay and Zane switched! Also, the whole middle pod looks flipped around). At least it can hold all four ninja this time, right? But... is that a weaponized dinosaur carrying a throne back there? :o
TECHNIC | 42055 BUCKET WHEEL EXCAVATOR. That is all you need right there. Looks like an amazing Technic set; probably one of the best due to its sheer size and pure awesomeness. Seriously, just watch that video and be converted (also, another video for you (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAS6KmgCQ_w)). Any questions? WHY DO YOU NOT LIKE HOW AWESOME THIS IS!? That Supercar is pretty neat; I like how they did the temporary car camo instead of just revealing the finished thing. :P Still looks nice on its own, regardless of color, though... however, I could think of a few colors it would NOT look good in.
Well, that's about it. Boy, that was a lot of writing. Heh...
Wheelchair lego minifig is boss I want.
