Title: [SNES] Ys V: Kefin, the Lost City of Sand - "Niena"
Post by: TheDreamingHawk on April 22, 2015, 01:41:42 PM
I hope I did this right for my first post in the request forum, but here it goes. A song from a game you've probably never even heard of, Ys V on the SNES. A very, very obscure game that was only released in Japan, and unlike the other Ys Games in recent years, hasn't been remade in any way (Except for an even more obscure port of Ys V on the PS2, again only in Japan). I was unsure which song from Ys V to suggest for a Piano arrangement, but I think I found one.

Niena, one of the "main themes" from the game that plays in many forms over the course of the adventure. Pretty much the "theme of sorrow" for this game. This song always reminds me of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series in some way, and it's a beautiful melody. It's a shame that there's barely any videos of the song on youtube, and that there's barely any arrangements of it period. (Even by the game's developer, Falcom who has arranged a TON of their older tracks in the past.) It would be amazing to hear this soothing melody on a Piano, so I hope someone is up to the task.

1:32 to 1:43 has the PMD vibe with the choral ah's and the VI(M7) --> v(m7) progression ("In the Hands of Fate"?), but otherwise it sounds pretty pastoral and homelike.

Should be a fairly simple arrangement to make for anyone wanting to do it.
