STILL IN UPDATE MODEFor reference only.
You have come some way with this arrangement. The things that first of all needs to be done are:
1) The high guitar melody.
2) The marimba arpeggios in measures 12 & 14.
3) Formatting stuff.
There might be more to do but that's a good start.
Yes, I have the acoustic guitar melody on measures 9 thru 10 and 15 thru 18. The other measures of the right hand were the accordion. I feared that adding the acoustic guitar melody thru those measures would make it too hard to play, but I can add them. Also, the left hand was playing the marimba part in measures 12 & 14, combined with the bass guitar stuff.
As for the formatting, I'm bad at that sort of stuff, but could you explain to me some examples that could use better formatting?
I suggest adding the guitar melody since it is very important being the main theme of the song. Then afterwards we can take a look at how to adjust the arrangement to make it both playable but also keeping the voices in by moving around certain notes, maybe play the accordion chords by the left hand since the accordion often plays on the beat the bass doesn't.
The marimba does, if I hear right, play straight 8ths (triplets) rather than quarter+8th, I thought it might add some variety having it in the LH rather than the bass in those measures.
Formatting: hmm, actually it looks quite good on the PDF. I just looked quickly at the MUS. It seems like the MUS got pno.s left but the pdf doesn't. But the PDF's metronome mark look a bit weird, having huge number but tiny note, in comparison to the MUS.
Those problems can easily be solved by a member with a high finale product, which there are plenty here who has.
Here some stuff you can do however:
1) Make composers on 2 rows like:
Composed by A,
B & C
this way it looks better since there are so many composers.
2) You got the copyright slightly wrong, it should be like this: http://www.NinSheetMusic.org/, with capital letters and a / at the end.
Also one formatting issue is the Measures per system. Now you got 4,5,4,5 which to me looks a bit odd and the notes looks a bit clustered. I'm not the best at this and you might want to wait for some updater voice their opinion on this, but I think it should be something like 2,4,4,4 making it more even and well-spaced.
One more thing I noticed:
I'm quite sure this arrangement should be written with swing 8th instead of a lot of triplets.
Does ninsheetmusic really need capitals?
yes otherwise MLF will hunt you down
Okay, I will add the guitar melody. Okay, I will see about moving the accordion to the left hand.
About the formatting, I just asked MLF to help me convert to MUS, I have no readability of it. If you're wondering why...
Spoiler
I don't own the computer I use. Thus, I have portable apps on my drive though. Since Musescore is on the platform, I can only use Musescore, which does not support MUS files, but does support XMLs.
1) Nice composer idea!
2) I have no idea what you mean by measures per system, sorry.
3) Wouldn't swing eighth look a bit weird?

3) Wouldn't swing eighth look a bit weird?
2) System is the fancy musical term for row. So whatever numbers he said, put that many measures per row.
3) Swing eighth would look better; it would take out all of the triplets. Once you put in swing, you would be able to write those triplets as eighths and it would still sound the same. Once you get the updated .mus, I can show you what I mean.
Any reason for this being in B-flat major? At a glance I'm pretty sure it's C major.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's C major.
Also, the melody isn't there.
One more thing. I'm not sure about the title. There isn't really a name for this world. I think the title should just be "World 1"
Yeah, I will change it to C Major. Also, on the Youtube Soundtrack, the title was World 1 - Grass Land.

You're dang right about that ;)

That's what those people think. There's no world name for the worlds. There are for NSMBU though.
Edited song title. I'm sorry that I will have slower updates, with school starting, updates may be a week apart. Sorry. :(
Actually, grass land is the correct name.

Thanks. I was confused, as NinSheetMusic had a "World Map 6" or something. I will change it back then.
grass land, ice land, sky land, desert land, jungle land

Emm MLF that website is at times good, but titles are not official and thereby "grass land" is a fan-made/popular name for the world. We could have it as title but just keep that in mind.
See here: http://www.mariowiki.com/New_Super_Mario_Bros._Wii
Mariowiki doesn't say anything about what world it is simply calling them "world #"
I'm just gong to keep the name as it is now. We can always change it back to World 1 Map if necessary.

This is the official name because this guy never lies.
Oops, yeah, I'll make that dash a colon instead.

No to nitpick to much but... How can that be an official name?? It doesn't have any source. Even funnier is that the title he names in the description is different reading "World 1: Fields" making it less believable. Yet again we could have any popular title as the title since the game doesn't seem to have any official, but don't just claim it to "official" without having a good reason (source).
I don't know. This could be debatable forever, unless there is some real source I'll just stick with the current name.

Ok, fine, I didn't elaborate. This guy has never been wrong with track names before. I'm not entirely sure where he gets them, but each and every soundtrack he uploads is complete and flawless, although he doesn't upload that many.
I corrected everything you guys mentioned [I HOPE]. I did this because school is starting and I don't want this to pile up. PDF and MIDI updated, not the MUS though. Tell me what you think! :)
You may see many formatting errors. Please keep those on hold, I was in a big rush. Will come back to this as soon as I can.
The PDF and MIDI files have been edited. Please tell me what you think, regarding anything about this submission. Also, someone PLEASE help me convert the file (XML file link below) to MUS so I can update the MUS file as well...

Thank you very much, Brawler4Ever. Any more comments and suggestions? If not, I wiol mark this thread that is ready for the updaters.

I'm thinking about making a separate version of your song (as a proof-of-concept), this one with swing. TMP is correct; getting rid of all of the triplets would be ideal. I'll hopefully have it done by tonight, and if not, then tomorrow.
Sure. Do howver you wish. :)
My attempts at swing notation ended horribly. TMP, if you want, the job is yours. :P
I updated the mus a bit, all formatting stuff (which I did not do last time). It seems like the size of the sheet is smaller for some reason. Size 12 font is tiny. So I took the liberty of creating another version with each text area 2 sizes larger than required in the WSYSLL Thread (12 becomes 16, 24 becomes 28).

Probably a bad idea, but whatever. If the standard font size would be preferred by the updaters, I can do that as well. It just looks irregularly small to me. :)
If the updaters want a larger size, then I will replace the files you have below. But currently, I thought that the NSMBU Overworld text was even smaller, but no one voiced that it was too small, Maelstrom said it was fine. But yes, I do think it's a bit small. Yeah, I will just replace it.
Swing notation is actually an excellent idea for this song. Since Brawler seemed to fail with converting it, I decided to convert it myself.
Here is the file:

I think the sheet should be fine, but it's good to double-check if there is any errors: wrong notes, articulations etc.
Could you convert the MUS to an XML file so I could edit it? I double checked it and wanted to chabge some things.
Also, thanks so much for the swing notation! It looks great! :)
Fixed I added the XML file to the folder.

Sorry for the slowness of the submissions, guys. I've never seen it this slow.....:/
Anyway, I'm gonna be looking over a lot of songs.....to save the Updaters time. And I'm starting with this one when I get on my computer :)
Hey, it might be slow but not for some people. Like K-NIGHT submission sent on September 2nd got accepted the same day.
What's wrong with slow :|

In the last 18 days, we have had THREE updates -- performance submissions, regular submissions, and the completion of a MASSIVE 2-year old arrangement project.
Cut me (us) some slack, please.
And thank you skiaak for understanding
Quote from: Bespinben on September 04, 2015, 01:33:53 PMCut me (us) some slack, please.
I totally understand!
Please forgive me if I offended you.
Anyway, here is my edited version:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0ze4sqadxr1ekgf/New%20Super%20Mario%20Bros.%20Wii%20-%20Grassland.mus?dl=0
What I did:
- Fixed some accidentals. Remember that when you're descending to use flats and ascending to use sharps (Most of the time this rule applys, but there are exceptions).
- I totally reconstructed the left hand to make it more player friendly. In a nutshell, I put the bass note an octave lower so the right hand wouldn't clash with the upbeat. I also took out that part that goes up every once in a while because it's too hard to play, keep the bass, and upbeat.
- Last but not least, I fixed the formatting.
Please tell me if there is anything you disagree with. =)
Could you convert to XML so I could view it and edit it?
Sorry about that!

Nice! Thanks for the edits, I was wondering whether it was playable or not before. I have to wait till one of my things get accepted or (rejected) before I can submit another piece.
@mlf could you give me the PDF and MID files so I can add them to the OP?

suppose I can fill in.

I've kept up with the edit history of this arrangement, and while I have my own ideas for how you could best incorporate all the parts in a pleasant fashion, the present arrangement is passable.
