I'm fairly certain that it's not a VGM if there's no VG to go with it.
I don't know how else to categorize it, and aren't you composing these for a game. Not for an actual game, but for an idea of a game that may or may not ever come into existence.

Sadly, I can't afford Finale 2014, but I have a friend who has it. She made the pdf for me, but my formatting in finale was incorrect. I only need help this once. I can work better from scratch on other arrangements. I just don't want to undo everything I've done accidentally. Also, back on the topic of this topic, not only are recommendations for instrumental arrangements welcome, they're encouraged. I'm not good at choosing between multiple options.
Just so you know, I got the reference.

One tip I would consider: ease up on the percussion on Castle Lololo. Sounds accurate, though, good job!

Okay, so this is a special post. This post isn't going to have a WaluigiTime64 song. It's going to have a mash-up I made of Heart and Soul and the Super Mario World Map Theme. The story behind this is that I noticed that the LH in the map theme sounded familiar to me, which is when I realized that it is very similar to one of the variations of the LH of Heart and Soul. I'd just like to say, Generic Grass (Race) sounds a LOT better with an NES soundfont, but I can't figure out how to export songs with a special soundfont, so you guys are stuck with the instruments I used. They're good, but nowhere near as good as with an NES soundfont.
If you're using MuseScore it's "View>Synthesiser>Save to Score", after which you would go "File>Export", picking either the .wav or .mp3 options (because no one cares about .flac files).

Two more songs! It seems ThatHiddenCharacter is finally getting on top of things. Couple of things to note: The arpeggios (glissandi?) in Eerie Hotel are too slow, but I can't fix it. The space version definitely gives off a mario galaxy vibe, which is always good. I'm not a fan of the drums in the other one because there aren't drums in any of the versions of the theme that I've heard. The syncopated chords should almost act instead of the snare, if that makes sense, so it doesn't require the extra drive. If you're set on drums, though, I'd make it double time.
New thing! I'm not gonna stop making instrumentals, but I recently came into a great GameBoy soundfont thanks to Andy. Because of this, I'm going to make some GameBoy versions of songs. I have no idea how true the sounds are to the original. According to Andy, it is. I will only do songs that I have already made instrumental arrangements of. That is all. I have one today. (Rhode Island Fact of the Day: Pahk yah cah in Hahvahd Yahd is Massachusetts. Rhode Islanders may have a similar accent, but seriously, we don't speak like the letter r doesn't exist. I did the dry effect. Does it sound better? I think it does, but I didn't play too many GameBoy games, so I don't have much of a reference. I just tested and, to be honest, using the dry effect sounds the same as changing to no effect.

Nothing new, just saying that my instrumental arrangement of Outlandish Interruption from Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon has been fixed. The organ and the LH of the harpsichord were completely wrong at one point and had one note off at another. I figured this out because I was arranging Severe Infestation (as an actual arrangement for the site) and it has the same LH as all of those themes. The only one that's different from the rest is Library Piano, which is what I based Outlandish Interruption off of. But now it's fixed and everyone can be happy!
I actually fixed Outlandish Interruption a little bit more since I last said. To commemorate this (which I should have already done), I am posting Severe Infestation from the same game! This is my second instrumental arrangement that is also one of my piano arrangements! Go check out my PA thread if you want to hear, and possibly give advice for, the piano arrangement. (THCFotD: Robert Capron went to my school. In case you don't know who he is, he's the guy who played Rowley in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies. He doesn't look like that anymore. He graduated last year and he's already getting quite into the acting business. I know at least one show he's on, and he's probably on a lot more.
