It isn't that human-sided. Master wolf appears green to seer/cardflip, and if I added a wolf the game would only be two mislynches long not counting the vigi kills.

Oh I would

Uhhhh yeah, for the next 6 weeks I'll be continuously signing up as an alt unless someone needs me for numbers for a game
So in as an alt
Title: Re: TWG CIV Sign-ups
Post by: Olimar12345 on April 09, 2018, 08:36:41 PM
I'm not sure if this point has been made in the past, but I'm going to get on the soapbox anyway. People signing up to be an alternate player shouldn't be a thing. Either want to play or sit out; Either sign up to play or don't. Alternate players should only ever be a thing if people sign up after we already have a set number of players for the games we're voting on. They should only ever be an excess, not an actual, requestable position.

And on top of the absurdity of signing up to be an alt in and of itself, it irks me that it's done as this sort of passive manner, like it's easier to be an alternate player rather than a normal player. I don't know about you, but for me it's much easier to play a game from the start than to be called several phases in and have to catch up on many messages and logs.

End rant.

Post by: FireArrow on April 09, 2018, 09:01:45 PM
I´m assuming people signing up as an alt mean it in as "I'll join if you guys don't have enough to start a game." But yeah, that's not what an alt is.
Title: Re: TWG CIV Sign-ups
Post by: Brawler4Ever on April 09, 2018, 09:26:03 PM
I thought it was more of what happened to lkjh a couple of games ago and that whole deal with Charu coming in. If a player is inactive (which is a VERY real thing) then we have players ready to come in and at least try to play the game a bit. If we don't have subs (or alts, or whatever) then that position is lost for the entire game.
Title: Re: TWG CIV Sign-ups
Post by: Olimar12345 on April 09, 2018, 09:31:57 PM
My point was not to discredit the helpfulness/point of having alts. The point I was making was that alternate players should be players that sign up after the cutoff, not before we even have enough players for a game.
Title: Re: TWG CIV Sign-ups
Post by: E. Gadd Industries on April 10, 2018, 09:34:06 AM
To comment on the idea of having to catch up, that will not happen as I will still keep up with the game. The big difference is not having to post (which can take up some time). I will still develop suspicions and the like, but I won't have to post or engage in Discord conversation. I can remove myself from the sign-ups if you wish, but know I can be subbed in
Title: Re: TWG CIV Sign-ups
Post by: Olimar12345 on April 10, 2018, 09:46:33 AM
Being that involved and simply not posting doesn't seem like you'd be conserving that much time/effort.
Title: Re: TWG CIV Sign-ups
Post by: mikey on April 10, 2018, 12:29:07 PM
my original idea was to allow one sub for eight players then one more for 12
if you're too busy to play twg you're probably too busy to sub (being a sub means we expect the same amount of activity from you as another player, just slightly later in the game), and we typically don't need subs to begin with.  It's okay not to sign up, but if you think you have the time to sub you have the time to play from the start.

TWG: frikin sombra

(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi0.kym-cdn.com%2Fphotos%2Fimages%2Foriginal%2F001%2F187%2F901%2F550.gif&hash=a76223bd8a59dc3b83a021d12f6796e9d026db13)

1. Sombra - Has a bunch of disruptive, annoying secret single use abilities as well as some passive abilities. 2 times at any time can guess who Katya is, if successful Katya dies immediately and Sombra gains and uses her Ultimate EMP ability.
2. Katya Volskaya - Is aware of all of Sombra's abilities
3. Human
4. Human
5. Human
6. Human
7. Human
8. Human

All players can also create a will. Upon death their will is revealed to the topic.
The TWG Accounts will be used, but players won't be anonymous, i'll straight up reveal who you all are (lol).
Out of topic communication is off access, although forum PMs ONLY are allowed.

This game is basically a Manhunt. Sombra is the hacker from Overwatch, think about this if you want to try guess what abilities she has.

Sombra wins when there is only 1 human left.
Humans win when Sombra is dead.

TWG CIV: Gotta Wolf Fast

Wolfs:
Eggman - The basic baddie decided to go in disguise to catch that meddling Hedgehog. This is a wolf role that is seeded green. wolf kill is announced differently when they send in the wolfing
Infinite - The cool edge lord that every 9 year old dreams of. Also wants Sonic and pals dead. Basic wolf role that changes the wolfing announcement if they send in the seering

Humans:
Note: Everyone but Amy and Sally is told they're a regular human at the start of the game. This is to prevent roll calls and other things

Sonic- You're too slow! Special Activation Human. Is told he is a regular player
Knuckles- Tougher than the rest of them. The Miller of the game. If Amy seers him, he will appear red, which probably won't be good.
Amy- LOVE ME, SONIC!! goes into a rage if Sonic is the one who's wolfed or lynched. This allows them to reveal the color of one player of their choosing.
Sally Acorn- #ripsoniccomics. has a single revive ability that can only be used once in the game
Tails- I'll do my best! Basic human role
Blaze- Blue hedgehog?  A basic human role
Silver- ITS NO USE! Basic human

cardflips show color

Version 2.0.

TWG: Submerged Castle

Nobody knows what lurks in the waters of the submerged castle...

1. Waterwraith - Master Wolf
2. Careening Dirigibug - Wolf Seer
3. Blue Pikmin - Human role
4. Blue Pikmin - Human role
5. Blue Pikmin - Human role
6. Bulbmin - Guardian
7. Captain Olimar - Seer
8. Louie - Miller

Olimar, Louie, and a small group of Pikmin set forth to explore the mysterious Submerged Castle. Just as their exploration had begun, a mysterious life form emerged from above. "Attacking is futile! KRTZZZ Danger! Danger! Danger!" exclaimed the ship.

Night phases are 24 hours long. During night phases the Waterwraith and co. (wolves) wreak havoc by deciding on a player to smash (kill). This is done by PM-ing the host. Special human roles also have night actions. Olimar can stay calm and focused in the sight of danger (seer) and for some reason the purple Pikmin is the only one able to do damage (vigi).

Night phase music:
Spoiler
[close]

Day phases will also be called "sublevels." For example: Day 1 (Sublevel 1). As the game progresses, so does the sublevel. During day phases all living players vote on a target to lynch.

Day phase music:
Spoiler
[close]

Part of what makes treading the waters of the Submerged Castle so unsettling is not knowing when the Waterwraith will appear. Since night is brought on by the Waterwraith appearing, day phases may last 24 hours, 36 hours, or 48 hours, at the decision of the wolves. Note: they cannot choose the same two phase durations back-to-back. This must be decided and PM'd to the host during the night prior (it defaults to 48 hours). You had better get your work done before the wraith strikes.

Wolves win when the number of living players is equal to the number of wolves. Humans win then both wolves are dead.

Night start. No cardflips happen upon death.

The postgame topic will get a special video made from recorded and annotated gameplay footage reenacting the course of the game.

Make them unable to pick the same time option again until they've gone through them all, otherwise day phases will just alternate between 12 and 24 hours.

While I do see your concern, doing that kind of ruins the mystery of not being able to predict when it will happen. :/

TWG CIV: Screw Strategy, We Have Money!

1. Wolf
2. Wolf

Wolves know eachother. The wolf team share their money.

Each wolf has a wolfing of his own, meaning that as long as both wolves wolf, two lives will be lost each night phase.

3. Banker - Is told the amount of money all wolf players combined have as well as the amount of money all humans have combined at the end of each night phase.
4. Businessman - Earns NSM$150 at the end of each day phase rather than NSM$100
5. Human
6. Human
7. Human
8. Human

Each player starts with 3 lives. Wolfings and lynchings each take away one life.

The wolf team starts with NSM$300. Each Human starts with NSM$200. At the end of each day phase each Human earns NSM$100 (except the Businessman who earns NSM$150 instead).
Whenever a player dies(=loses all lives) by lynching or wolfing, the wolves will steal all of the killed player's money. If the kill was an item kill, the player responsible for the killing will steal all of the killed players money (if the killed player was the first wolf player to die, only half of the wolf team's money will go to the player responsable).

During the night phase, players can buy items with their money. Passive items will only last for the next day phase and the next night phase. Active items can only be used during the next night phase unless stated otherwise. In any case all items will be useless after one day phase and one night phase after they have been bought.
list of items
Poison Dart (poisons the player shot, causing that player to lose a life at the end of the next night unless that player buys an antidote during that night. Poisoned players will be told that they are poisoned) – NSM$75

Gun (takes one life away from the player shot) – NSM$100

Bulletproof Vest (protects the player from guns and snipers, but not from wolfings and poison darts) – NSM$100

Sniper (takes one lives away from the player shot, can be fired in the middle of any phase) – NSM$150

Silver (protects the owner from wolfings) - NSM$150

Antidote (when bought, the player will not lose a life due to poisoning that night) – NSM$150

Bribery (Your vote counts for 2 during the next day phase) – NSM$150

Steal-an-item item (target a player upon buying the item. If that player also buys an item during the same phase, you get that item instead) – NSM$175

Guardian Angel (protects from guns, snipers, poison darts, and wolfing attempts.) – NSM$200

Potion (Restores 1 life at the end of the next day phase. Doesn't work if the player has 3 lives remaining) – NSM$200

Duct Tape (Target a player during the night phase. That player will be unable to perform any action during the next night phase. Actions include wolfing, buying an item, using an item (except duct tape) and painting. Also prevents passive items from working and if the banker is targeted it prevents him from learning the amount of money each team has and if the businessman is targeted he will only receive NSM$100 during that night phase.) – NSM$300

Super Bribery (Your vote counts for 4 during the next day phase) – NSM$300

Reflector (when targeted by a gun, a sniper or a poison dart, the shot is reflected to the user) – NSM$300

Tank (Target a player, that player will lose 3 lives. Also protects the owner from guns, snipers, poison darts, other tanks, wolfing attempts, but not from duct tape. Also prevents the owner from being lynched, in which case the player with the second most votes is lynched instead. Cannot be stolen) – NSM$500, each player can only buy one tank per game.
[close]

Wolves win when all humans are dead.
Humans win when all wolves are dead.
If there is one human alive and one wolf alive with both having one life at the start of the day phase and there is no vote manipulation, the game ends in a tie.
