Title: Finale - Advanced Tempo Manipulation

Advanced Tempo Manipulation in Finale

Transcribing detailed tempo changes in Finale can be a difficult task. Below are some tempo editing strategies you can use to achieve detailed playback in Finale.

Using Basic Tempo Expressions

Note: Expressions in the 'Tempo Marks' category can only be applied at the start of a measure. To specify tempo on a per-note basis, you must move your expressions to a category other than 'Tempo Marks'. A good alternative is 'Tempo Alterations'.

Using TempoTap

Note: If you want Finale to use your tempo changes alongside human playback (when clicking the Play button), you must choose HP (Incorporate Data) in Human Playback Preferences -> MIDI Data.

Using the MIDI Tool

Using Shapes

Be warned: it is very difficult to use the Shape Designer accurately.

Sometimes I have this error in Finale where the tempo suddenly changes back to something else, disregarding whatever tempo markings you have and the playback controls, but Latios helped by adjusting stuff in the MIDI tool (I used to just mess around aimlessly in the main screen until something good happened).

So yeah that's something else you can do with it.
