Title: The Search Bar Function
Post by: ThatHiddenCharacter on January 27, 2019, 06:48:32 PM
I really didn't want to make a post to complain about this since it's really a rather small problem in the grand scheme of things, but I really think some attention should be brought to this since it's caused some minor problems to me in the past and I'm sure some other people have had a problem with it before. Basically, due to the two character word minimum in the search function, you can't search for anything with a single digit number, which is kind of annoying when trying to find if anyone has arranged songs from a game that has a single digit number in the name or if a song has a single digit number in the name, especially considering it's very doubtful that anyone would type out the number's word equivalent rather than type it as the number like it normally is, which is usually the case. Again, I'm really sorry for typing up a whole post in a new topic for something this minor, but I just think that if anything can be done about this, something should be, even if it takes a while because I understand how busy most, if not all, of the staff members (specifically the code monkeys in this case) are and the amount of dedication they already put into the site without people nagging about small things like this. (I'm also sorry if this was the wrong place to put this or if I shouldn't've even said anything at all.)

Out of the box, it's not possible to change the minimum character limit. I guess it could be doable (anything's possible, technically...) but there's the question of whether or not it's a good idea. Things like that are usually set that way for a reason (often performance, sometimes other) and it's not always a good idea to just go and change them unless you really know what you're doing.
