Title: A question about the history of NSM.
Post by: Bobbythekid21 on February 25, 2019, 05:06:22 PM
I posted this in the PYToTM2 thread but it got buried so I'll post it here:

I'm head of the newspaper at my homeschool group and I tend to write articles about different and unusual services/organizations. I don't know why I never thought about writing an article about NSM. I think I want to do that for our next issue. There are a lot of people there that do piano or just music in general, and tons of people that enjoy video games. I sure there are plenty of people that enjoy both. Is there anyone who could give me a short history about how NSM started and came to be what it is today?

It was an idea that was born, and then it was created! I'm not qualified to talk about it, I have no clue.

Then why did you just clutter up the topic with 92 empty lines?

Well... I not quite sure because I'm not sure what there is to know...
If I'm correct G-han more or less started it all himself, correct?
Maybe start there, with how and why he started NSM.

If posting on a thread that has not been posted on in more than 6 months is necrobumping, then what is it called when you PM a member that hasn't been active in over 6 months? Necro-raising? Necro-waking? I'll keep thinking...

Did he just quit using the forums? Did something serious happen to him? I'm actually not kidding is he ok? It just seems kind of weird that he would dissappear all of a sudden.

As someone who's been around since 2004, I should probably know quite a few things.

Though I suspect I should have written much of this down as the memories get quite hazy over time.

How much do you REALLY know though?  I doubt you know that originally, NSM was a website dedicated to cataloging different varieties of Belgian Cheese.

Fun fact:  If Inkling's age is accurate....I've been on NSM longer than they've been alive.   :o  But then again, they are a squid kid.  So who really knows how old those things are.
