Title: Pep band
Post by: Gooch on March 09, 2009, 07:11:21 PM
So, since our basketball season wears thin (with only the championships and State left), my band director is wondering about how much we enjoy our Pep Band music. Freeze Frame, Get Ready, and Smoke on the Water gets old after awhile, so, he's asking for a few new ideas for music. So, here comes my request. I decided that the "Fever" theme from Dr. Mario and a shortened form of the "Halo" theme would be wonderful (and catch on quickly). Im wondering if anyone, should they have the time, to write up a score for these songs that will be well suited for a Pep Band environment. I'll take care of writing the individual parts to sheets, so, only a director's score will be needed. I'll list the typical instrumentation. Thank you, if you can do this for me. Like you may have guessed, there is no real rush on this.

Instrumentation:
French Horn/Mellophone (split parts, if you can)
Alto Sax (split parts)
Tenor Sax
Bari Sax
Tuba/Suzaphone
Flute (split parts)
Trumpet (Split parts)
Drum Set (only on Halo)
Clarinet (split parts)
Electric Bass Guitar
Electric Guitar

Like I said, if anyone could, i would be overjoyed, but, there is no rush and no real insistance. Im only looking for a little variety in our Pep Band.

Get me mp3's of all the music you want, I can get on it a soon as possible. How long do they need to be?

I would like the whole kit-and-kiboodle on "Fever". I've also decided that the Halo theme is shorter than i thought, so, i need the whole song on that. All our music is so short, and all the other bands have long music, so, i figure we need some longer pieces. I'll see what i can do about the MP3's.

Okay, i figure YouTube links will be easier than looking for MP3's. Here ya go, sir.

2) do the guitar parts need to be in TAB?
3) where is the beritones?
4) do you want basic percussion for "fever"?
Title: Re: Pep band
Post by: Gooch on March 14, 2009, 07:42:35 AM
Naw, no TABs on the guitar. What do you mean by baritones? No percussion on Fever. If we feel we need percussion, our drummer does some great improv. :)

Great! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! Like i said, no rush! There is plenty of time, which also, in turn, should make the quality rise without the stress of a time constraint! :) Thank you again, sir. :)

Half way with the halo arrangement. Almost done with Fever. Did you get Finale 2009 Yet? Just wondering.

I got Finale Reader, which will let me read Finale 2009 stuff (yeah, im pretty cheap), so, you can just send those over. Cool! Im glad there's been a lot of progress! Im really excited to here them! :)

Working, working, working.

Don't worry, I'm still working at it.

Well, our director retired. Sorta a bummer, but, I know the new director very well. So, it seems that the newer pep band music (VG style) will be welcomed. So, with that, i put forth one more request. Brassman, you do not have to do it, as I've already asked a lot of you as it is, but, If someone could make me an Arrangement of Bomb-Omb Battlefield using the same instrumentation listed, i would be very grateful! :) Btw: Baritones can be either Treble or Bass clef

Thank you all, again! :)

Actually I think someone on this site has made a Jazz arrangement. Nana1popo2 I think it is. I know i remeber seeing a Bob-Omb Jazz arrangement in someone's Submission's thread.

As a matter of fact, yes. Nana1Popo2 did that arrangement, and Brassman was helping me tweak it to fit that type of band.

However, Brass isn't around this month.

So, is that particular Band arrangement ready?
Title: Re: Pep band
Post by: SirIngusBingus on June 27, 2009, 07:52:00 PM
No it is not. However, I have Nana1Popo2's version. I'll give it to you, as long as it's alright with him.

Really, it's no prob. I'm almost done with Ingus' Arrangment, I can do the one that you requested too. But unfortunatly, your instrument selection makes it a bit tough for good sounding arrangement... At least, I don't like the way it sounds on finale for such a small group. Oh well.

So once again, I'll see what I can do.

Peace.

Post by: Gooch on June 27, 2009, 10:43:27 PM
Once again, thank you, sir! I do apologize for the inconvenience of the instrumentation, but the director won't let us play it if everyone cannot play a part, sadly :( But, I am extremely confident in your skills and look forward, earnestly, to another piece of your fine work!

Thank you, again!

Sorry to keep bothering, but school has started for me, and in about a month, so will Football Pepband games. So, just trying to track progress here if anything will be ready by then, or if its more of a "basketball dream". :) Sorry, again, that i am so bothersome about this, but many individuals in the Pep Band look forward to the arrangements :)

I'm sorry guys, I know I haven't been the most prompt about requests, but I'm kinda in a really bad situation right now.

I am currently homeless, and haven't had the time(nor my computer) to work on anything. It's been like this for a almost a 2 weeks now.

So, Ingus, yours is about done.

Gooch, some of yours just need little things here and there but should overall be completed.

I'll have to find a way to submit them, public library doesn't allow mediafire access... so I'll find a way to get those to both of you.

Till then, peace out.

Wait a second. You're homeless, and you still plan on doing our requests? No. If you can give us what's already done, then by all means do it, but you do not need to finish them for us. It's fine, don't worry about it.

Dear lord, man! :o That is horrid news! If it has come to that, I can easilly finish the work you have started! There is no reason for you to stress over us in your situation! I do hope everything gets lined out, and I will accept WHATEVER you have at ANY point in time!

I am very lucky right now, that's why I continue to finish what I start.

No worries on both of you, I'll see to it that it is done.

Peace out my friends.

Only if you are entirely certain! Thank you so much! Your work means Quadruple as much to me for this kind of dedication. Respect is something that is earned, and to finish what you started, no matter what, has definately earned you my respect!

Well, its nigh-on a year. District is next week; Regionals in two weeks. Do you have any progress that could be played? I do hate to be the stickler chasin' down this stuff, so i do apologize. :(

Hope you like it, Enjoy.

Sir, let me be the first to inform you that this piece is VERY much so quite the wait! Im extremely happy with the results! On the same note, do you suppose you could separate the parts. I would do it myself, but I only have 2008 Finale. Sorry for the incovenience. But, I must reiterate just how wonderful this piece is, and I do look forward to playing it.

Hey, have you separated the parts yet? This is Regionals week and my band director has ok'd all the new music; he says that we need something fresh and new.

Not any that I've been having.

Edit: Just out of curiosity, do they need to be 5x7 sheets or will a 8.5x11 work?
Title: Re: Pep band
Post by: Gooch on March 04, 2010, 04:20:51 AM
5x7 should do. When I do it on Notepad, I highlight the entire part for the instrument, copy it, open a separate, new piece, and paste it in.

I humbly thank you from the very deepest bottom of my heart! Now, I have a side favor that should take no presidence over any of your other numerous tasks (this should do very well, the Halo arrangement). If you could take Nana1Popo2's "Fever (Dr. Mario)" arrangement and separate the parts, I would be forever greatful and won't pester you anymore. You have already done a extreme service to me and I very much so thank you!

Hey Gooch, i have to make two slight changes to the Dr. MArio arrangement yet, so I can get you the seperate parts by later today if it's ok.

Edit: ugh. scratch that. i dont know if id be able to get up the seperate parts.... i was just now told im going to be going out today, so i wouldnt be able to upload them before the next hour. so, instead i have updated (or will in a couple seconds) thw links to my arrangements. so you can check it out. *sigh.. my Finale has been over-the-top laggy.... and now for some reason always is whenever i have other screens open...

No worries to the both of you, just send me linkies whenever you're ready.
Title: Re: Pep band
Post by: Gooch on March 06, 2010, 05:57:41 PM
Nana1Popo2: As long as you can get the parts to me by Tuesday or Wednesday (no later) I should be fine. Our girls team won regionals, so we're going to State, and that starts on Thursday, but its an overnight trip, so I am potentially going to be gone Thursday-Saturday. Tues-Wednesday is so that we can practice and get the music worked up in Band class by then.

Brassman: If Nana1Popo2 can't get the parts separated, then I would very much so like you to do it for me (same time constraints, obviously).

Thank you both so very much.
