So I've recently started buying movies. I've always downloaded but I really think some movies deserve to be bought. Right now its fairly small but what I've got is simply best, except for a couple. So here they are.
Star Wars Episodes 1-6.
Die Hard 1-4
Raging Bull
Goodfellas
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Terminator 1-3
The Untouchables
True Lies
Predator
The Lord of the Rings 1-3
Speed
Shane
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
So someone please, name me a movie on that list that isn't a classic epic win, except Star Wars 1-3...those don't count of course..they were good movies..just not classic.
My collection is so pathetic I don't even dare to post it.
My collection is... big... however we have loads of 'Kid!' movies from when I was 6 or something.
My collection is massive. But you are missing a few crucial ones. Where's the Matrix? The Mummy? Star Trek: Wrath of Khan ;D? Or, my favorite, School of Rock?
Well like I said, I've just gotten started. I should buy the Matrix...
Star Wars 1-6
Lord of the Rings 1-3
Predator 1 and 2
No Country For Old Men
3:10 to Yuma
Batman Begins
The Dark Knight
Kelly's Heros
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory(original or in other words, the good one)
Flash Gordan and the Purple Death(my great grand dad was flash gordan)
I have a bunch of other movies too but I'm too lazy to name them all.

:o That's awesome...
The matrix was awesome. 2&3 sucked.
Sequels usually don't live up to the original unfortunately.
Of course not the case with Die Hard 2 and Terminator 2.
Terminator 2 was my favorite of the four. But I don't own any of them. I think I'll buy the first two this weekend.
The new one seems like it's gonna be pretty awesome. It's tough to tell from the 30-second trailors, but...
I liked the fourth one but it had some problems and a lot of people hate it.
I recently watched Die Hard 4.0... and it sucks.
I haven't watched Terminator salvation- I wanna though.
What is Die Hard 4.0? Do you mean Live Free and Die Hard because that was a fairly good movie.
I thought it was fairly good as well.
I just watched Terminator 3...it was ok. Worse than 4. For me I'd say T1=T2>T4>T3. They're all still pretty good though.
I don't think I watched T1.
But yes, T2 is way better than T3, I still think it's great but T2 is much more original.
T1 was very good.
Made a stop after work last night, picked up:
Gladiator (special edition)
The Matrix
Total Recall
I've already seen gladiator and matrix a long time ago. I watched Total Recall and it was weird, but pretty good.
Total Recall had cursing practically every other word. But the story was good! ;D
I didn't like it that much.
so I just downloaded Kill Bill vol1 and 2, Kindergarten Cop, Predator 2, Alien 1-4, Magnolia, Blade Runner, and the 25th hours.
I watched kill bill 1 and hated it so much I will not watch vol2. Did not like kindergarten cop either. Predator 2 was pretty good though.
P2 was pretty good but the first one is a ton better. Plus the first has the GOVERNATOR in it.
I really have only like 4 movies that i actually like.
I have Irobot, I am Legend, Rush Hour 3, and Transporter 3
I only like Latter Days, Summerstorm, The Dark Knight, Alles is Liefde (Dutch romantic comedy) and a couple of other stuff.

I'm guessing you're a fan of Will Smith then.
Just got back from Wal-Mart.
Picked up Predator 2, because it deserved to be bought for $5. A Chuck Norris 3 pack for $5, just because I've never seen a Norris film. The Departed, another Scorsese classic. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World with Russell Crowe, another very good movie.
I think I'm gonna go buy Escape from Alcatraz. Great Clint Eastwood movie. Don't know why I don't have it already.
What?! No one has named any war movies?!
Saving Private Ryan, Flags of our Fathers, Band of Brothers, Letters to Iwo Jima, Full Metal Jacket, Forest Gump, Patton, Platoon.
Nah i'm just kiddin. I watch way to many war movies...
Will probably pick up Saving Private Ryan sometime soon, but tonight I bought Commando and the first three Rambo movies.

I completely forgot about Forest Gump. But I did name Kelley's Heros which, in my opinion, is the greatest WWII movie of all time.
Because it's awesome.
I don't see it.
Neither do I...
Falling down with Michael Douglas is a great movie :D
Forest Gump is a great movie.
my stupid history teacher said its overrated...her opinions always suck.
Someone explain why it's good.
Vietnam was a very horrible war and was also the most televised war so it made it even worse... However Forest Gump is a movie about the war, but the movie is funny so that you don't have to see what those who served in Vietnam had to. It also tells a lot about the war.

I understand the pun part, because that's a lovely word.

I still can't find anything to like about that movie.
Its a good movie because it tells a good story well.

Have you actually watched the entire thing? Or do you just have horrible taste?

Horrible taste

But it's not a good story!

Ummm... yes, its actually a very good story.
Pretty sure its a great story.
Dad's favorite movie.
Supposedly goes through all the historical events that occured during his early life.

I can't say it is, but as we'll never convince each other, we can move on.
So I just added the Pink Panther movies(both the new and the old) to my collection.
Ahh.. Those both are pretty funny movies. Although I like the older one better than the newer one.
Older ones; there's 6 of 'em.
He's probably talking about the first old one.
Quote from: SirIngusBingus on June 27, 2009, 07:46:25 PMOlder ones; there's 6 of 'em.
6? Dang I only saw the first one.
Just bought Beowulf and The Aviator.
Everyone I know hates Beowulf but I love it :D
The one that was in 3D not too long ago?
My friend and I saw it and we thought it was pretty good.
I thought it was pretty bad, but meh.
Beowulf started out great but the last half hour or so was shit.
Yeah it did kind of go downhill but I still like it.
Just bought Saving Private Ryan and Casino. Both of these movies are epically awesome.
Tried to buy Taxi Driver, which is one of the greatest movies of all time..but they were all sold out :(
I need to go buy V for Vendetta, that film was fantastic. There's also a ton of Alfred Hitchcock films I need to see as well as some old classics with Jack Nicholson like The Shining and such.
w00t Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Box Set.
Fantastic movies, incredibly long though...but that certainly isn't a criticism.
I think I only saw the extended edition of the last one. I should watch the whole set again.
I just recently did that, during the long car ride when I was on vacation. I had forgetten how good those movies were.
How much more movie is in the extended editions?
Greatest trilogy ever, by the way.
Half an hour for the Fellowship, 42 minutes for the Two Towers, and 50 minutes for The Return of the King.
It really makes the movies much better.
Also, the special features are pretty interesting.
Now I have to go buy the trilogy all over again. yay.
Just added Troy, Hannibal, and Red Dragon to the collection.
Also got Silence of the Lambs again because it came with Hannibal, and it was cheaper to buy both than to just buy Hannibal..which was weird...
watched Troy today, was pretty awesome, I only got the theatrical because the extended was much more money.
Bought a Double Feature of 1408 and The Mist. I love both of those movies, just watched the mist again and it was so awesome.
also bought a lot of other movies recently on Blu Ray.
lol, anyone see Slumdog Millionaire?
yeah, it was pretty good. Not, super amazingly uber pwning awesomeness, but still pretty good.
yeah, i was actually dissapointed when i saw it after hearing all the good things about it. But at least this movie is an original idea, not like some of the newer Indian movies today.
I actually like that movie a lot, probably going to buy it on dvd considering I saw it for 8 dollars..
That's it? Wow, dvd prices are dropping pretty fast.
Prices in Holland are despicably high...
I love ER ;D
Althought that's not a movie. I never watch movies.
ehhhh... not big on PrimeTime drama. When it comes to tv shows, I'm more of a comedy lover.

But you gotta admit that British comedy is better than American (sorry for all the Americans around).
I probably would agree if I see any.

Yeah. But you can't deny that america has had some greats over the years.(Dick van Dyke, Don Rickles, George Carlin, Louis Black).

OBJECTION HARVEST!!
I've bought a huge amount of movies lately...don't want to list them all but I'll tell you I got Inglourious Basterds on Blu Ray and it came with epic dog tags!
While I don't buy many movies, I love watching movies.
Inglorious Basterds was the best Tarantino movie I've seen (not that I liked Pulp Fiction very much).
Inglorious Basterds was by far the best movie I saw in theatres last year. I definitely am going to have to buy it.
Just watched it.
Was epic.
Hitler's mustaches flying off= greatest moment involving a nazi dying ever.
