Title: Your movie collection?
Post by: Harvest on May 25, 2009, 07:59:13 PM
So I've recently started buying movies.  I've always downloaded but I really think some movies deserve to be bought.  Right now its fairly small but what I've got is simply best, except for a couple.  So here they are.

Star Wars Episodes 1-6.
Die Hard 1-4
Raging Bull
Goodfellas
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Terminator 1-3
The Untouchables
True Lies
Predator
The Lord of the Rings 1-3
Speed
Shane
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance

So someone please, name me a movie on that list that isn't a classic epic win, except Star Wars 1-3...those don't count of course..they were good movies..just not classic.

My collection is so pathetic I don't even dare to post it.

My collection is... big... however we have loads of 'Kid!' movies from when I was 6 or something.

My collection is massive. But you are missing a few crucial ones. Where's the Matrix? The Mummy? Star Trek: Wrath of Khan  ;D? Or, my favorite, School of Rock?
Title: Re: Your movie collection?
Post by: Harvest on May 26, 2009, 12:42:35 PM
Well like I said, I've just gotten started.  I should buy the Matrix...

Star Wars 1-6
Lord of the Rings 1-3
Predator 1 and 2
No Country For Old Men
3:10 to Yuma
Batman Begins
The Dark Knight
Kelly's Heros
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory(original or in other words, the good one)
Flash Gordan and the Purple Death(my great grand dad was flash gordan)

I have a bunch of other movies too but I'm too lazy to name them all.

The matrix was awesome. 2&3 sucked.

Post by: Harvest on May 27, 2009, 03:34:44 PM
Sequels usually don't live up to the original unfortunately.

Of course not the case with Die Hard 2 and Terminator 2.
Title: Re: Your movie collection?
Post by: SuperFireKirby on May 27, 2009, 03:57:23 PM
Terminator 2 was my favorite of the four. But I don't own any of them. I think I'll buy the first two this weekend.
Title: Re: Your movie collection?
Post by: SirIngusBingus on May 27, 2009, 05:48:38 PM
The new one seems like it's gonna be pretty awesome. It's tough to tell from the 30-second trailors, but...
Title: Re: Your movie collection?
Post by: Harvest on May 27, 2009, 06:45:43 PM
I liked the fourth one but it had some problems and a lot of people hate it.
Title: Re: Your movie collection?
Post by: Tranzlater on May 28, 2009, 02:13:16 AM
I recently watched Die Hard 4.0... and it sucks.

I haven't watched Terminator salvation- I wanna though.
Title: Re: Your movie collection?
Post by: SuperFireKirby on May 28, 2009, 06:00:48 AM
What is Die Hard 4.0? Do you mean Live Free and Die Hard because that was a fairly good movie.
Title: Re: Your movie collection?
Post by: Harvest on May 28, 2009, 03:07:01 PM
I thought it was fairly good as well.

I just watched Terminator 3...it was ok.  Worse than 4.  For me I'd say T1=T2>T4>T3.  They're all still pretty good though.
Title: Re: Your movie collection?
Post by: Tranzlater on May 29, 2009, 12:51:14 AM
I don't think I watched T1.

But yes, T2 is way better than T3, I still think it's great but T2 is much more original.
Title: Re: Your movie collection?
Post by: SuperFireKirby on May 29, 2009, 12:05:17 PM
T1 was very good.
Title: Re: Your movie collection?
Post by: Harvest on May 31, 2009, 05:18:24 PM
Made a stop after work last night, picked up:

Gladiator (special edition)
The Matrix
Total Recall

I've already seen gladiator and matrix a long time ago.  I watched Total Recall and it was weird, but pretty good.

Title: Re: Your movie collection?

Total Recall had cursing practically every other word. But the story was good!  ;D

I didn't like it that much.
Title: Re: Your movie collection?
Post by: Harvest on June 18, 2009, 12:30:19 PM
so I just downloaded Kill Bill vol1 and 2, Kindergarten Cop, Predator 2, Alien 1-4, Magnolia, Blade Runner, and the 25th hours.

I watched kill bill 1 and hated it so much I will not watch vol2.  Did not like kindergarten cop either.  Predator 2 was pretty good though.

P2 was pretty good but the first one is a ton better. Plus the first has the GOVERNATOR in it.

Just got back from Wal-Mart.

Picked up Predator 2, because it deserved to be bought for $5.  A Chuck Norris 3 pack for $5, just because I've never seen a Norris film.  The Departed, another Scorsese classic.  Master and Commander:  The Far Side of the World with Russell Crowe, another very good movie.

I completely forgot about Forest Gump. But I did name Kelley's Heros which, in my opinion, is the greatest WWII movie of all time.

my stupid history teacher said its overrated...her opinions always suck.

Title: Re: Your movie collection?
Post by: Palagerini on June 25, 2009, 07:48:06 PM
Vietnam was a very horrible war and was also the most televised war so it made it even worse... However Forest Gump is a movie about the war, but the movie is funny so that you don't have to see what those who served in Vietnam had to. It also tells a lot about the war.

Half an hour for the Fellowship, 42 minutes for the Two Towers, and 50 minutes for The Return of the King.

It really makes the movies much better.

Also, the special features are pretty interesting.

Just added Troy, Hannibal, and Red Dragon to the collection.

Also got Silence of the Lambs again because it came with Hannibal, and it was cheaper to buy both than to just buy Hannibal..which was weird...

watched Troy today, was pretty awesome, I only got the theatrical because the extended was much more money.
