Title: Midi isn't working.
Post by: Brassman388 on September 09, 2009, 10:20:20 AM
Yeah, pretty much what the title says. I try to open a midi file and finale freezes and crashes.

Any ideas? Solutions are welcome.

Does Finale do this with all midi files? Are there any error messages associated with the crashes? Have you recently uninstalled any midi drivers? System Restores?

More details please. It's hard to find a solution when you have little to go on

Yes, it does it to all of them. Uhh, I don't mess with drivers of anykind. I didn't uninstall anything. I'm not sure what you mean by system restore, but if you're asking if I've done one recently, that would be a no.

Clarify anything?

My only advice would be to try a System Restore. Other than that, I would suggest a re-install.

Not much else I can come up with to help you I'm afraid :(

EDIT: What's your default output midi device set at? (Midi/Audio-->Device Setup-->MIDI Setup)

Try a system restore then. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid a re-install is in order.

I tried both, it didn't work. If anything, it actually slowed my systeme even more. Damn it... I'm gonna need a newer one.
