does the song actually have (remix) in it's title?
you need to add a midi file
you need to format it as nakah has posted. [console] title of game - title of song [link to .mus file]* [link to midi file]*
*[url= put the url here]MUS[/url]
um, i dont think our site does remixes...
Quote from: sipan1234 on August 30, 2010, 02:32:23 AM[GC] Tales of Symphonia - Fighting of the spirit Remix
there are some problems with the sheet.
The title formatting is all wrong. please review this thread. (http://www.ninsheetm.us/smf/index.php?topic=481.0) and make sure your sheet looks like the picture on there and the list below that. also, take out "(remix)" from the title and filename.
where you put "compesd" replace it with composed. I know english isn't your first language.
put in a key signature. I can't edit it myself to check but I think it's in B minor which has 2 sharps.
if you can, try to bring the fourth measure up to the first staff line. or bring the third measure down and from measure 5 to the end, make it 4 measures per system.
measure 14 - the tied quarter notes could be replaced with a half note.
I see a few Cb's on the second page. I would recommend that you put them as B naturals.
Delete that last empty measure and put a forward repeat on bar 5.
tempo: using a tempo tapper, I found the original to be around 172.
try getting your sheet to have 3 pages instead of 4 because the last 4 measures use a small part of the page. (trying to conserve paper)

Apparently I am now an updater...
I took a quick look through and I'm seeing formatting errors galore, so I'm giving everyone until Friday to fix up all errors, formatting or otherwise. If I'm feeling good on Saturday, I may be a little lenient and fix up errors myself but I wouldn't necessarily count on it.
Consult the What Should Your Sheet Look Like (http://www.ninsheetm.us/smf/index.php?topic=481.0) Topic for details on the Formatting Guidelines.
P.S: it doesn't say this in the formatting topic, but copyright should be in size 10 Times New Roman.
Any questions, post here or feel free to PM me :)
EDIT: Also, if you want me to take a look at something before update time comes around so that you can fix any errors before then, all you gotta do is ask ;)
I could help with the formatting workload if anyone wants.

horray \(^o^)/ stuffs happenin again! my stuff's correct, right?
Fabbemannen: Are those rhythms in the Worms Theme supposed to look that weird?
And I think Shadoninja went through formatting pretty well. But just to re-iterate - Follow The Picture!! (except for the url...I'll see If I can get the pic updated?
Btw, Shado, he does have a topic - it's just that it's on the bottom of the 3rd page.
Olimar: A couple of relatively small things that I might have or might not have mentioned in my other post: -
- Only put dynamics once when they're the same, double bar line before a key change, a couple of rhythm grouping issues.
- And I'm not a big fan of the metronome markings. The numbers look like they're subscript or something weird and it just looks way out of alignment.
- Also, Measure 4 of Labyrinth Fight, the layers should be the other way around (eighth notes on layer 1).
Your formatting's pretty good, but try to enter info into the File Info as much as possible. It's much easier to edit and so on. If you need to add text from the File Info, make a text box and go to Text>Inserts.
But don't really bother changing anything (unless of course you really want to). I can fix those myself now and therefore have less work on Saturday :)

Well, I'm not the best in sheet making (1 star only =D, not so experienced). I'm going to check the sheets when I get home, but. My reply to Shadoninja is in my topic.
Just one thing do, how big difference can it make having another font, as long as it doesn't make any big difference? (Never mess with nsm, it can kill you)
Like I said, just follow the picture. I'll try and get the guidelines fixed up sometime so that they are more clear and easier to follow. But basically, if you don't make it match the style of the picture, then I have to fix it up when update time comes around or maybe reject it if I really can't be bothered fixing.
The whole point of having everyone follow formatting guidelines is so there is some sort of standard around here. It also makes the site look more professional by having all the sheets with the same formatting.
Btw, the stars are related to your post count, not to do with making sheets.

I know, but since it's so small difference...
Anyhow, I'm going to check when I'm coming home, and I know that the stars are based on posts (2 stars are 25 I think, this post =D). I appreciate the work does here (even do the updates can take a while sometimes) so I'm going to fix it
thanks for all tha feedback! what did u mean by rhythm grouping issues? oh, and i thought tha tempo markings were required now-right?
Yeah they are, but the way you've done them, the numbers look subscript. Btw, You know you can actually create tempo markings that play back correctly as opposed to just text boxes?
In the expressions pop up box, go click on Tempo Markings on the list on the left. Then click the create tempo marking button that has appeared somewhere on the tight side. Then it's pretty self explanatory.
Insert Note, lets you insert a note, the Tempo tab at the top lets you control playback (just tick the one that says to match the text or something like that).
Hopefully you can actually do that in PrintMusic 2010 because you could in the 2009 version.
As for rhythm grouping, I'll explain some other time (hopefully later today). I just woke up and I gotta go out in like half an hour. I think I made some sort of mega post on this somewhere in dahans' topic. But put basically, there are a bunch of rules when it comes to the way you write down certain rhythms/note values.
gosh, i've learned so much in leik 2 days! that tempo marking thing always bugged me-thanks for the explanaition!
Having gone through everyone's arrangements, here is the feedback. The ones in green have been accepted. If you have any questions or need some clarification, feel free to ask. Also, if you'd rather that I fix something up, I'm happy to do that too.

Quality standards are at some serious highs now! But it's good to see updates starting back up again, and we won't need to correct these later if we can catch the mistakes now. ShadoninjaA Break in ActionCompanions That Surpassed Their Tribe- Don't use 8va/8vb followed by loco. It's a pain to have to remember that while your playing. Use the dashed line as you've done in other places.

A Break in Action- One small problem. The minim at the end of bar 12 should be a tremolo between the 2 E's, not just repetitive striking of the same octave. If you can't do it, I probably could but I'll have to work out how first :P.
go for it if you can figure out how to. the best I can come up with is 32th notes.Companions That Surpassed Their Tribe- Some parts sound off but I'll have to sit down for a little while to work them out because that is a pretty tough song.
I mixed some parts together in an attempt to get as much in as possible. for example, at bar 5 it's a french horn part playing the rhythm of the bass.
Teach me, Mont Blanc- Wrong notes/ right notes in wrong octave.
- No dotted rests
might need some help on this one.Amber Valley- Perhaps you could include the arpeggios in some places such as 9-10, 13-15, 17-19 etc. But if you don't want to, I guess I could accept it as is.
I don't think they'd work at those parts.
- Is there anything that can be done to make the beginning sound a little less dissonant? I'm pretty sure the notes are right but maybe it just doesn't work on piano.
probably not, but I don't think it sounds that dissonant.[/list]

I've updated the songs now (as good I could, you can't do everything in Notepad 08).
About Eight Melodies, first I used this,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkzAi-Lp9w4
but when you said it was wrong I doublechecked with this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghZpyHP7B_g
I couldn't find any mistakes in the key, so I guess I say it's from Mother 1/Earthbound Zero
But that particular track is an orchestral arrangement of the original. We don't do arrangements of arrangements, we do arrangements of original in-game tracks.
In this case, it's this one here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85XM_Nl7_oo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85XM_Nl7_oo)
Shadoninja: I didn't mean that I didn't like the way you combined the parts, I meant that some of the bits sounded wrong. How's this? Companions... (http://www.mediafire.com/?qype87togu5cg6r)
I'm still working on the tremolos. Amber Valley is Accepted. Teach Me, Mont Blanc is work in progress.
Well, I knew it was the same melodies so I used that anyhow. I still don't find any problem, is it accepted?
Yeah, alright. But I'm changing the key to match the original.
What's wrong with the formatting? Anyway, I don't have time to rearrange everything... I don't really care if my arrangments are accepted or not. If you don't consider them good enough, don't accept them.

Sorry for the troubles =) Further arrangements hopefully going to be as they should be :P
By the way, when uploading the Worms theme it should be Worms, not Worm's. Since we're tryinig to get it right =D And there are 3 earthbound rows or what it's called in the other section
Right...12 songs. I'm going to have to get in there and fix everything myself. Sorry, but you'll have to wait a couple more days for this one. I'll make sure that everything all cleared up for the next update.
When it´s going to be the next update?? ???
when DT gets at least 20 accept submissions.
The way he's going about it, he'll have about two that are "good enough" by November. :P
Well, I've got 18 at the moment. I could have 20 easily by tonight.
I suppose the 5 song limit is still in place. Meaning someone with 5 accepted songs can't add more.
I haven't got to yours yet pumpy so I'll definitely have at least 20 by tonight. Just gotta hope a Mod is around to make the news topic for me seeing as I can't do that.
Oh cool then! Sorry if that came out disrespectfully.
Like I said, I haven't had time to fix my arrangments (driver's licence test in an hour :S). I am really sorry :S, it would be nice if someone of you could fix them xD. Just kidding.^^
Good luck! :D
And arrange more soon!
When's the deadline? I might have time tomorrow (driver's licence test: passed :D) time to fix one or two... it would be really great if you could fix one too Deku!
Well thanks to my amazing ability to be unorganised (I forgot to save some of the .mus files and Mediafire died on me for most of last night), I haven't put it up yet. So I'll probably do it at sometime between 6 & 7AM tomorrow morning (14th). Check my profile for my local time. But really, anytime on that day will do for getting stuff in for this update.
Just look at the great big list I posted, I've been keeping it updated with stuff that's been accepted along the way etc, mostly just for myself so I don't get confused :P

xD Nice one Shadoninja!
Concerning Dewford Town: It isn't unplayable, just very very difficult, but not unplayable at all.
I would be really happy if you Shadoninja (I think you offered to fix some formatting) or Deku could fix one sheet. Tomorrow I will be in vienna the whole day :S.
which ones?
I really don't care :D.
Sry for doubleposting, but I think in that case it's necessary:
I know that it's not formatted yet, but since Cherrygrove city is already on the site, I chose D/P medley:
[MUS] (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?bjrltbf6nj5gi45) [MIDI] (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?52ak88qumkd137w)
as my fith arrangment. Hope it will be formatted in time.
Either way, glad to see you're driving! Don't kill anyone! :)
I'll probably do some after orchestra tonight.
Quick question:
Is it possible to post all the MUS and MID links in the actual news post so I don't have to hunt across all the categories to find the new stuff? I think it would be a lot more convenient to navigate through all the new content, but I don't know how easy it would be to implement.
I dunno, I guess it could be done. I'm not sure if it's more effort than it's worth though. If I've got enough time, I'll try and do it.
Thank you Shadoninja :D!

Somewhat unnessecary since this just is an preparation for the update where all songs going to be
Well, I meant on the front page when the new update is actually posted as news. If it's too much trouble, I suppose I could just do without it. It's not the worst inconvenience I've had to deal with. But thanks for your consideration!
Well, when the update is done it comes there anyhow :-\ I'm still not sure what you meant, so it's no idea to ask me ;D
It's up. If you have any problems, I guess you can just post here until I get a new topic organised.
No problems here!
As far as I can tell, everything is working quite fine. I can't wait for the next update now! ;)
Nah no problems at all, I just haven't been able to fix my arrangments. That's my fault. :( I'd be glad Deku, if you told me what was wrong with my arrangments. Thanks.
And that's my opion: You don't have to be so strict. Concerning the "Incorrect rhythm/note groupings": Neither Haydn nor Beethoven nor Mozart cared about rhythm/note groupings. So I don't see a point why you you insist on that. We are no professionals at all and the more sheets we have the better it is. That's just my opinion.
I can agree on that. I rather have more sheets than a few perfect sheets. Most people still doesn't play exactly as it says in the sheets. That's one of the good things with playing instruments, you can modify the songs as you wish ;)

That's exactly what I mean! And it takes so much time until the sheet is "perfect" (IMO an arrangment can never be perfect).
All of my sheets have been accepted so far this way and ,as far as I'm concerned, you shouldn't be so strict Deku.
Eh, I guess I just judged everyone by the standards by which I judge myself. I'll get better as I update more often. Sorry if I've been a little too harsh
As for people not playing exactly what's in the sheets, that's not our problem. The whole point of this site is to provide accurate piano reductions (well we tend to call them arrangements, but they are really piano reductions) of video game songs, then it is left to each individual player to do what they see fit with it. But then at least they have an accurate base to work from.
For next update, I won't reject peoples stuff for trivial stuff, but I will still check each individual arrangement against the original for accuracy.
EDIT: I'll try to make the topic tomorrow night, I've got a ton of homework to do tonight.
Alright sounds good.
It's good that you're trying to keep a good standard, but as long as there aren't any really disturbing mistakes, they could be ignored ::)
