Spent 11 hours on the beach. No sunscreen. Was sunburned for about 3 weeks. Just in time for school pictures.

I don't go so often so I don't have the time to be on a bad one :P
I have to say that 10½ years in school is the worst vacation ever!

worst vacation... hmm.

probably this one trip to Spain. I had food poisoning the entire time I was there, so that wasn't nice, especially when some friends wanted to force feed me paillea (or however it's spelled). I should go again, and possibly experience something better!

Also, when friends of mine think it's cool to go on vacation to Disneyland... that ain't cool. I don't know why they want to waste their money on a hotel and on buying $60 churros and waiting in line at Space Mountain for 9 hours (forgive my over-exaggeration)... I'd rather drive another hour north and spend the day that the best Six Flags in the country, Magic Mountain!!!! Disneyland is supposed to be magical, but when you go to Disneyland every weekend for 3 years, it may get a little old.

@DrP: It's Paella! :D

My worst vacation:... Last year... winter holidays: after 2 days I became sick and I could only go skiing on the last day! AHHHHHHHH (it was so foggy on this day... I couldn't see a thing)

This year. Been sick on Christmas eve and Christmas, been sick on New Year's eve and New year, and I am sick right now. Shit happens. My Christmas vacations were pretty fun so I can't really complain. Usually my vacations are really fun even though I don't really travel anywhere.

It's a matter of opinion. Six Flags rocks because it is like 90% Roller Coasters... Disney World sucks because it 1) Isn't Disneyland and 2) Doesn't have decent roller coasters.

And the reason why Disneyland > Disney World, because it's the original.

Wrong on so many levels, but I'll let it go for now.

I do have one question: Have you ever been to Disneyland?

Disney World> Disneyland. Reason? Epcot. Unless Disneyland has an Epcot too.

I've been to Wyoming.

There is NOTHING THERE. LITERALLY. NOTHING.

There are more people in most cities than in the state of Wyoming. >__>

[nerd]
Fuji-Q is called "Land of the Qs" (Short for Queue) among enthusiasts. Despite having a lot of visitors all year round, all their rides are pretty low-capacity (Fujiyama is a crowd eater at about 2100 pph, but most other coasters go between 800-1100). Also, they close the rides once a slight rain begins to fall, which is does a lot as it's located way up in the mountains.

On the other hand, Eejanaika is currently the largest 4-D coaster in existence, DoDonPa has an almost unrivalled acceleration (0-172 in 1.8 seconds), and the haunted hospital there is the largest walk-through scare attraction in the world. Epic park when nobody's around and the weather is nice (ie never).

Six Flags Great Adventure is a great park, apparently. Magic Mountain went into the "Let's break records, at all costs!" trap. The biggest coasters are mediocre at best, they break down all the time (apparently the 17 coasters the park had at one point were never open all at once). And they have no big non-coaster rides. However, their new, more modestly sized coasters are apparently quite good. That, by the way, goes for most of the Six Flags chain. Build big rides with impressive numbers, loan a lot of money, and act surprised when bankrupcy knocks at your door. For the record, Cedar Point almost went into the same trap, when the "ultimate record machine", Top Thrill Dragster, opened and closed every other day during its two first seasons of operation (after which Six Flags built a bigger version of the same coaster, nicking all its records). However, it appears that the age of records is over, and parks focus more on making thrilling or well-themed rides instead of putting millions into going sky-high.

For the record, Drayton Manor in the UK have a neatly themed Thomas Land too.

Nononononono. No. No. Wrooooong! [/nerdrage]

It's simple, really.

The original Walibi was a Belgian park. It was called Walibi Wavre. It was named so because of the vincinity to Wavre, Limal and Bièrges, three nearby towns. It opened in 1975.

The Dutch Walibi park operated under the name of Flevohoffrom 1971 to 1995. The Walibi Group bought the park in 1994. Later, in 1998, Premier Parks bought the Dutch Walibi World. At the same time, Six Flags bought Walibi Belgium.

In 2000, Premier Parks bought the Six Flags chain, and renamed its European parks to Six Flags Holland and Six Flags Belgium, respectively, in an effort to introduce the Six Flags brand to Europe.

However, due to financial problems, Six Flags had to sell the parks again in early 2004. They were bought by Palamon Capitol Partners, based in London, who sold them again to a company named CDA parks (Grévin & Cie). In 2005, both parks regained the Walibi name, as it was better recognised by the locals. At the moment, they are called Walibi Belgium and Walibi World.

There you go. Today's lesson in theme park history.

And Fabbemannen, there are no Six Flags parks in Sweden. There were once three in Europe, all of them sold (numerous times) and rebranded. The third was in France, by the way.

I'm can't figure out if you're objecting on what I said, or merely confirm it.

Anyway, I'll repeat it in very simple terms:
The park that's named Walibi World today was called Six Flags Holland between 2000 and 2005. Then Six Flags had to sell the park, and it was renamed.

To make this post a bit useful:

Went to Coffs Harbour (in Australia, home of the Big Banana) in 2006 to a beach resort for 10 nights. Felt sick the night before leaving. Got there and first thing was see a doctor and get diagnosed with chicken pox. The symptoms eased on the last day.
