for what are those stars you see under your profile name (like by me Lapras Lullaby, 5 stars)
Its sort of like your ranking.
If you post more, you eventually get more stars, and the phrase will change to some other nintendo-based music pun. Really its just a gimmick, it really has no other purpose.
It's your rank. To put it simple: The more posts you have, the more stars you get.
Long story: When you reach a certain number of posts, you get a new "rank" (which is only for aesthetical purposes). Each rank has a corresponding number of stars to it.

What about the people with large stars? How do they get theirs?
I'm pretty sure that those are reserved for moderators and admins.
Is there a list of the ranks anywhere? :P
