I FRIGGIN' LOVE YOU!! That is like the best arrangement I've ever heard. How long did it take you to make that?
You should make more Dragon Quest songs... :D

Whoops...

EDIT: fixed

Also, thanks, Fingerz, I'll see what else I come up with from dragon quest. I still need to do two more from V. Any suggestions?

Ah, it's been a while since I've last played it... maybe the Boss Theme? I'd have to check out what other songs sound good. XD

Uh more of an aesthetic issue, the sheet Jib Jig has 2009 on it, thought I'd mention that :P. Anyway they seem pretty good to me although it's been a while since I last heard the originals.

Get Finale Reader.

Lets you read/playback MUS files and it's free.

I know, but I don't like Finale Reader. The quality of the sound is miserabel. Even a .midi file is better.

Finale reader tends to have better quality than that of a midi file. :P

if you want high quality sound, go find a professional pianist who can sightread very well and have them play for you. if you just want a general idea of what a piece is going to sound, suck it up and use finale reader.

Well, I have a programm that makes the midi (piano pieces) sounds like someone playing it :)
Quoteif you want high quality sound, go find a professional pianist who can sightread very well and have them play for you. if you just want a general idea of what a piece is going to sound, suck it up and use finale reader.

There aren't many people who are capable of sightreading. I want to know, how it would sound on a nearly real piano.

Finale Reader definitely sounds more accurate for the general idea of what it's supposed to sound like on the piano.

Post by: Brassman388 on June 17, 2011, 02:45:53 AM
It'll be better if you use Reader. I already changed the midi within the file so it would sound it's absolute best with what Finale has to offer.

I was planning to do the "Molgera" song, but I see I can't outperform yours, so... I'll do the "2nd Time" one, which has a different bass and a slightly different melody. Seriously, your arrangements are really awesome.

Oh! And remember I posted a request time ago with the "Castle Pandemonium" song from FF Origins? You replied something like "I'll see what I can do". Just to let you know!  :)
Do it just if you want, don't feel forced to do it.  ;)

That is an amazing arrangement,
UNTILL....
At Measure#31 it becomes impossible :( That is the only flaw with the arrangement, and it's a pretty big one.
There is no way anyone could play that right hand part.
Other than that it is great, but again, no one could ever play this..

Did you move it to another folder or something?
Title: Re: Brassman's Arrangements.
Post by: Brassman388 on March 25, 2013, 11:34:03 AM
So apparently when you change the name of the file in the Public Folder in Dropbox, it destroys the link. Everytime you change something about that file, you have to update the link here.

Everything should be in order, all links are updated.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Also, cred goes to Lara6683 of Youtube since I've mainly used her version of the song to transcribe. Since, you know, the original is very, very muddy.

An oldie but goldie.

[GCN] Kirby's Airride - Water - Mus (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36750916/Water%20Copy.mus)

It's arranged for two players at ONE piano. So don't go makin' comments about how it seems impossible to play. I don't plan on submitting it unless someone really, really cares about it.

[SNES] Donkey Kong Country 2, Diddy Kong-Quest - War Wasp Hive - Mus (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36750916/War%20Wasp%20Hive%20Copy.mus)

This one is pretty much the same one one the site with the exception of the time change, chord changes in the main section of the song along with the melody rewritten, and the addition of the ending.

Do what you will with both.

Destructive feedback is always welcome.

I'm sooooo oldddd.

Also, this.

[N64] The Legend of Zelda, The Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask - Koume & Kotake's Theme/Magic Hag's Shop - Mus (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36750916/Magic%20Hag%27s%20Shop-Koume%20and%20Kotake%20Copy.mus)

I know the 8 bar duet towards the end is currently unplayable, but I did this piece when I was first starting out and when I was obsessed with accuracy. It's a quick revision since the last version was from Finale Printmusic 2006. So, it needed a massive makeover.

Destructive criticism is always welcome.

I don't have the words to thank you for this. This is really far beyond all my expectations, it's the best version I've ever heard of Bloody Tears. And you used the key changes masterly, they really add a lot to the song.

I'm so going to learn this. Sincerely, thanks for this perfect arrangement. I could have never imagined I'd like it like I do. Thanks again!

Aw shucks, you're making me blush. You're absolutely welcome, man.

You'll have to give a Lara some of those thanks because this is her rendition. It isn't her exact arrangement, but a transcription and adaptation of it. Part of the reason I arranged it was because of the key changes. So brilliant.

Anyways, I'm glad you like it.

Deku and Greg are making it sound like you're looking for something hard, so try this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4x-hVR9fZk) on for size. This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xweRl4LZlmo) is a little less difficult. More fun to arrange though.

Difficult or easy, it doesn't matter. I just need to get back into the groove of arranging again.

Haha, Deku know's what I'm capable of. He's more challenging me than anything. As for anyone else, if there's a piece that isn't around or if you want another view at it, I'm more than welcome to abide by your request.

I'd thought I'd do this one first because it's all jazzy and sh*t.

Pennington's Theme (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36750916/Pennington%27s%20theme%20Copy.mus)

I wanna wait 'til Deku gives me the final okay on it before putting it on the site, but this is what I got done so far.

This should be the final version. Thoughts and feedback are always welcome.

Key signature is C minor isn't it?

It jumps around quite a bit, that's why I kept at D minor. It was a healthy in between with all the modulations. But, you're right, the beginning starts out as C minor.

No, it doesn't jump around at all. It's C minor all the way until the modulation into E minor that you put in.

Alright, alright, look. I'll look at it again, but most likely I'm not going to change it.

Trust me, dude, this isn't my first time to the dance.

All the way until that modulation into E minor it follows the very very simple and over-used chord progression of I - VII - VI - V making it Cm - Bbm (alterated third) - Ab - G.
There are no modulations here, even though for some reason you said it jumps around quite a bit. It's not D minor anywhere - the chord progression doesn't even go through a D minor chord, so it should be very simple to see that it's in C minor.

So, it's not much, but it's what I've been working on since I've been gone.

There are plenty that aren't complete and a lot of them are transcriptions and actual arrangements.

I guess you could consider this a long overdue christmas gift.

Enjoy.
