I like Luigi a bit better. He makes me laugh and the poor guy is so unloved.
Luigi jumps higher.
Luigi is just hilarious and he's always been my favorite. Green used to be my favorite color too...now it's orange for other reasons (and orange shrooms are the best things ever).
But yeah, Luigi's awesome. :)
Everything you guys said.
Luigi's awesome except for his :(-attitude.
Luigia.
Weegee!
Woop Luigi
Just wondering, who voted Mario? :P
How dare thou.
i vote harry houdini.
THAT'S MAMA LUIGI TO YOU, MARIO
The love for luigi is too mainstream. But then again so is the label 'hipster'.
I was the one who voted Mario. :P
Because everyone prefers Luigi for some reason. Which makes feeling sorry for Luigi kinda... not really right because everyone ends up hating on Mario. XD
IT'S A PARADOX
Quote from: gzgregory on August 05, 2011, 05:05:04 PMI was the one who voted Mario. :P

erm you weren't the only one (which was the point of my post?) :P
But yeah, it's a paradox and everyone feels sorry for luigi therefore it's too mainstream.
I really like Luigi, but since I still end up using Mario more (except for 2D-platformers and a few more)
Ye ye, I'm one of the Mario-voters
It appears Luigi is the winner.
Results:
MARIO = 3 (PWNED)
LUIGI = 14
I guess I should start voting also :P
NEW POLL
Yoshi did nothing but piss me off in Galaxy 2... and Bowser's just Bowser... but Bowser made me laugh with his wanting of cake. So it's Bowser.
If you're in The Epics of Nintendo, you should vote for your side. Bowser FTW!!
Hmm, has to be Yoshi. Bowser is to slow and fails to often (as he is the bad guy)
Quote from: fabbemannen on August 10, 2011, 07:00:04 AMHmm, has to be Yoshi. Bowser is to slow and fails to often (as he is the bad guy)
GRAMMAR
Also I voted Bowser as he's cooler and Bowser Jr. is epic. I loved playing as Yoshi in SMG2 but other games with him kind of annoyed me
bowser has this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLXzgK3NxNo&list=FLF2bmYLpVjJI&index=27) as one of his themes. I mean come on who doesn't love that?
Quote from: SlowPokemon on August 10, 2011, 08:44:14 AMGRAMMAR
Was it "too"? I'm not used to writing "too" when it comes to amounts :/
"too"-- when there is an excessive amount, or a synonym for "also". Examples: "Bowser is too slow"; "Other characters are slow, too".
"to"-- used when talking about a place, or being directed at a person. Examples: "I am going to school"; "Are you talking to me?"
Hope that makes sense :P I know you're Swedish(right?) so it must be difficult to remember.
Actually I understand when to use it, but I used "too" for "You too (and/also etc.)" only and the rest with "to"
My fingers can't understand that I don't want to write that xd
Alright, end of that one!
Yoshi - 5 (aw man, he was close. not really...)
Bowser - 11
NEW POLL
Oh gosh, I love both of them. D: Toads are too cute, though. Gotta go with toads.
I love Toad. My favourite Mario Kart Battle character. I'd use him in racing if he weren't so small. XD
Toad is so adorable
Golden toad from NSMB Wii ftw. Two brothers to play it with, and I get player three, willingly! :D
After playing Paper Mario, I like Koopas more than toads.
Toad's voice pisses me off. Koopa it is.
Quote from: triforced1 on August 11, 2011, 09:58:48 PMToad's voice pisses me off. Koopa it is.
Just 'cause Toad has no balls! It's not his fault.
Toad, by a small margin. Only because of MK64 he goes "Obobobobobo!" and "Yahoo! I'm the best!" I can't help but laugh when I hear it! XD
Koopas can be transmorphed into lethal weapons of death, thus I vote for them.
Toad is soooooooooooooo adorable. He's my favourite character in Mario Kart 64, because of his noises^^.
Quote from: dahans on August 12, 2011, 03:11:12 AMToad is soooooooooooooo adorable. He's my favourite character in Mario Kart 64, because of his noises^^.
My favourite noises from Mario Kart:
Toad - Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh
Yoshi - (when he gets hit)
Wario - Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh
Alright, new poll. I think it was Toad 10 Koopa 6, right? I forgot to look before editing it... :-[
I don't like either of them but I especially hate Waluigi, plus Warioware is fun.
(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.wikia.com%2Fssb%2Fimages%2F2%2F2b%2FWarioMan.jpg&hash=205a1f997ca2a2b705ddc2aba9234b9406769483)
WAH!
^ That's what I was thinking of. I love farting on people in Brawl.
I don't like either of these people! D:
Except the waluigi pinball theme is excellent for the kind of stages I make in brawl.
And I do hate waluigi too but just to be different, gonna vote him this time around.
I go for Waluigi. I've never been so much for Wario
+ that I kill more in Brawl with Waluigi than Wario almost (at least more per match they appear in)
The results:
Wario: 7
Waluigi: 4
And... Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew Poll!
While I love the noises Shy Guy makes, Boo is cuter. Also, I think the poll should have been Boo and Dry Bones :P
Love King Boo

ENOUGH WITH THE DAMN CUTE CONTEST
Waluigi: Everyone's cheating but me! Waaaah!
I fell in love with shy guy after the Toy Chest level of Paper Mario 64. :) Sorry Boo fans. :D
^definitely. the food guy
Shy guys. They are easily the most versatile enemies in the entire Mario series. See Yoshi's Island, for instance.
Quote from: Jtehanonymous on August 20, 2011, 09:49:08 PMI fell in love with shy guy after the Toy Chest level of Paper Mario 64. :) Sorry Boo fans. :D
Lol wanted to write exactly the same. The fat shy guy was hilarious xD.
And his appearance in Peaches castle rules.
Hahaha, yeah, that Snorlax-like shy guy was pretty cool. Do you guys remember the poor shy guy that always tripped in the Toy Chest level when the crowd would run away from Mario? He's my favorite.
T.T
hehe yeah
just played it a month ago so I remember
Boos all the way!

SHY GUY!!
Shy Guy for the wi- wait the other option is so much better.
Wow, I never even imagined this one being such a close one :P
Boo's just annoy me, but they're kinda good in Mario Strikers
Shy Guy gonna get this :D
It seems Shy Guy is da winner!
Boo: 7
Shy Guy: 9
New poll!
Quote from: Bespinben on August 20, 2011, 08:53:07 PMWaluigi: Everyone's cheating but me! Waaaah!
I loved that! :D My brother always spammed it when we played.
Dry Bones is so badass, plus he's adorable so he just wins. He's also my favorite on the DS Mario Kart.
I was going to vote dry bones until I saw the other option. :P
No but really. In NSMB Wii, it's thanks to Lakitu that I have over 80 extra lives.
After throwing a koopa shell between two bricks, if you time your jumps right, the infinitely dying enemies will give you as many 1-ups as you want.
Wow, both really annoy me... :I
Lakitu! What would Mario Kart be without him?

Lakitu, who doesn't like riding on a cloud?
Last Poll:
Dry Bones - 5

I thought I might try to change this one up a bit, now it's a four-way match of kings. If you don't know one or more of these, King Bob-omb and King Thwomp were found in Super Mario 64, King Boo was mainly in Luigi's Mansion, and The Goomba King was in Paper Mario.
King Boo is awwwesome. Also, proper names:
Big Bob-omb
King Whomp
King Boo
Goomboss (this is if we're talking about the huge Goomba with a crown that appears in Super Mario 64 DS and Mario Kart DS)
*facepalm I always get thwomps and Whomps mixed up. Looked up Big Bob-omb, I was also wrong there. :P And I guess we could do Gomboss if everyone knows him more better than the Goomba King. Thanks!
I'm actually more familiar with the one from Paper Mario, but whatever.
Voting King Boo anyways.
King Bob-omb... appears in the very first level of SM64 :D.
King Boo
Versing King Boo to save Luigi in Mario 64 DS in which the mirrior was just to fun :D
King Boo is the only one I actually have on my + side
The rest are just +-0
Big Bob-omb would have won my vote for the mustachio, but the way he reveals the only way to defeat him in exact detail gives him a negative six. >:U I vote King Boo because he is the most evil I'VE ever seen in mario games compared to the other three.
King Boo...use him in Double Dash all the time
King Whomp.
"No! Crushed again! Oh well. I'm just a stepping stone, after all. I won't gravel, er, grovel. Take this star with you."
Lol, I remember that! ;D SMG 2, isn't it? I loved going to Throwback Galaxy just to hear him say that.
Actually the SMG 2 is a throwback to the exact same level from Super Mario 64. So Super Mario 64 is what it's actually from, the Throwback Galaxy was just done as a reference to it. I found that level realm neat. :D
A few of the differences are that King Whomp is bigger in SMG2, you fly to the other side of the planet to battle him, and he can send out shock waves and whimps (little whomps).
I was thinking SM64 this whole time.
Isn't the dialogue different, too? I may be wrong, since I haven't played 64 in forever...
No, it's exactly the same. The only difference is in SMG2, where after he finishes talking, he has a speech bubble that says "Dang it!"
^Also, if you lose the fight and go back, he'll start his long monologue about the bad treatment of rocks, just to cut it off.
In SM64, the battle would restart and he'd say the rant over again even if you only walked over to the opposite corner of the platform and back.
The results:
Big Bob-omb - 3
King Boo - 12
King Whomp - 2
Goomboss - 1
Alright, this one is a special poll. These are characters from the game Paper Mario. If you haven't played any of the Paper Mario games, THEN GO BUY ONE YOU IDIOT. The first two are outstanding but the third one is meh. They ruined the gameplay in my opinion. :P
ANYWAYS, back on topic, these are bosses from the second one.
First vote goes to Cortez. He was the funniest and coolest looking boss. Also had the best music.
I've beaten the first Paper Mario, but the final boss is literally the only part of that game I've played. The second one is the best in my opinion though. I think SPM is fun and really funny, but it's just not as good as PM2.
Quote from: Ragster2448 on March 02, 1974, 02:31:42 PMIf you haven't played any of the Paper Mario games, THEN GO BUY ONE YOU IDIOT. The first two are outstanding but the third one is meh. They ruined the gameplay in my opinion. :P
^THIS!!!!! >:(
One of the reasons I´ll buy Paper Mario 3DS is that the battle system is the one from TYD and PM64
Cortez was really hard to beat IMO. That's why I voted for him. Hooktail is so easy to bit... it's ridiculous :D.
Paper Mario... one of the greatest games in the history of video games. Somehow it reminds me a bit of the gameplay of Pokemon xD.
Now I wish I had the Wii shop. >:( I've never played the original Paper Marios.
Somebody smack this man then give him a paper mario game
P.S. Dudeman do you pick avatars that associate with your rank?
The results:
Magnus von Grapple: 4
Cortez: 4
Hooktail: 1
IT SEEMS WE HAS A TIE! Never had that happen before. :P
New poll.
BOB-OMBS
THEY'RE SO COOL
Plus bullet is misspelled...how does that happen
There's a movie called Bullit? IDK.
Bob-ombs.. definitely :D!
I like "bullit bills". :P
Bomb-Ombs...
For their 'singing' in Bomb-omb Battlefield. So awesome! :D
I've never been good at spelling XD
Super Mario Sunshine, and later Super Mario Galaxy, set it for me.
Bullet Bills all the way. It's something about their self-destructive bravery, plunging headfirst into the unknown to combat an enemy by all possible means. When you hear that screaming whistle, you know you're in trouble. Duck or dodge, Bullet Bills are incoming!
Bullet Bill. So annoying in many Mario games, 'specially the dodging ones.
Bullet Bills. Because typically they make for more interesting gameplay than Bob-ombs, because of the whole mathematical precision thing that comes up in plenty of Mario levels. Bullet Bills make for levels of frantic dodging, high-jumping, and in the case of homing Bills, running and screaming. Bob-ombs... explode stuff.
The results:
Bullet Bill: 7
Bob-omb: 8
Close one!
Alright, let's have a game poll.
Obviously SM64. Nostalgia to the max!
Obviously Super Mario Galaxy. Super Mario 64 holds a crazy special place in my heart, and I love the nostalgia, but Super Mario Galaxy is a far better game.
I'm gonna have to go with Galaxy. SM64 hates me for some reason and I'm usually raging whilst trying to complete later on levels.
Tick Tock Clock and Rainbow Ride. AND THAT FUCKING EEL IN DIRE DIRE DOCKS /hides
64. Grew up with it. Will always love it. But Galaxy's awesome too.
That's a tough one... but I think SM64 is the best game in this world. DEFINITELY. Moreover, it was the very first game I got^^.
The original gets the vote!
This is like deciding which weighs the most of Osmium or Iridium. A very close match between two superchampions. None above, none aside (well, there are some, but I'll leave that to your imagination to avoid flaming).
Super Mario 64 has a special place in my heart, though. I grew up playing that game. Finding a Dire, Dire Docks tutorial on YouTube was what got me into playing piano (and by extension, this site. I should send the guy behind that video a flower). I've even told my friends that I want its staff roll theme played in my funeral.
A vote to the good ol' game of ninety-six. Younger players might find Galaxy and even Galxy 2 better games, but to me, Super Mario 64 is more than the sum of its elements.
It has nothing to do with "being younger." I grew up playing 64 and it's fun and nostalgic and whatnot, but Galaxy is just a better game in my opinion. Also, what do you mean by "even" Galaxy 2? XD that game was the best of all of them.
Mario 64. I grew up with that game and other than that blasted level where you have to fly to the clouds for red coins, all the levels are tons of fun. Mostly, I like the non-linearity of the worlds compared to Super Mario Galaxy. Exploring the areas and really learning the map was much more exciting than going through pre-set paths.
Not that SMG (or SMG2) is bad, I just like 64 better. And it's more sentimental anyway.
The first game poll results:
SM64 = 12
SMG = 4
Super Mario 64 beats Galaxy 12 to 4.
Hammer Bro.
Only because I have no idea what a pokey is XD
I HATE THEM BOTH
And Pokeys are those weird as fuck cactus things in the desert levels.
Hammer bros. are harder to beat, but pokeys are way more annoying.
Pokers are soooo funny, Hammer Bros. have an ugly design D:

Daww I really want to buy BIS but I have no moneys :-\ I HAVE FURY
Hammer Bros are so much more classic and memorable than Pokeys.
Quote from: triforced1 on September 11, 2011, 09:12:04 AMDaww I really want to buy BIS but I have no moneys :-\ I HAVE FURY
How about about a reused one? You never know if it'll work 100%, but it's cheaper. I bought Mario Pinball Land, Bomberman Max 2 Blue (or something like that) and Golden Sun and they all worked, but I have a friend that once bought Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team and it was damaged. Just an advice, BIS is a great game... :-\
Or you could use an emulator, but it's better the original game, trust me. I don't support emulators and those things, but when is entirely necessary... Like with MOTHER 3 (ROM that I have and it's AWESOME and should CAME OUT OUTSIDE JAPAN! >:() :P
I mean, I'm in debt. So.... Yeah.
And Mother 3 DOES need to be released here! For the 3DS maybe? :)
Quote from: triforced1 on September 11, 2011, 10:01:06 AMI mean, I'm in debt. So.... Yeah.

Hell yeah! >:D
Pokey. They're both very annoying, but Pokey only gets in my way during one stage, while the Hammer Bros. tend to show up every five minutes.
The final results:
Pokey - 5
Hammer Bros. - 11
Let's have another game poll.
I've only played Partners in Time...So I'm going with that one. But everyone says the other two are great as well.
I have to go with Bowser's Inside Story, but they're all great. My second favorite would be Partners in Time.
Superstar Saga because it's the only one out of the three that I've played. :P
Quote from: SlowPokemon on September 14, 2011, 02:22:51 PMI have to go with Bowser's Inside Story, but they're all great. My second favorite would be Partners in Time.
Agreed, I have never beaten Super Star Saga.
My opinion: Superstar Saga>Partners in Time>Bowser's Inside Story
Vote goes to Superstar Saga, not only because is my favorite, is the one that I've beaten most! Six or seven times! ;D
Bowser's Inside Story bacause it's the only game I played out of those three! XD
Which didn't last long. Just until I got thrashed by Midbus at Bowser's Castle then RAGE QUIT
Bowser's Inside Story was too easy, but it was fun to coordinate the babies and adults in PiT
Also what is the storyline of Superstar Saga?
Quote from: spitllama on September 15, 2011, 09:50:02 AMBowser's Inside Story was too easy, but it was fun to coordinate the babies and adults in PiT

Ehem, ehem... *Prepares for a looooooooong speech*
1. Story (http://www.mariowiki.com/Mario_%26_Luigi:_Superstar_Saga)
It's so hard to choose between PiT and BIS, but I'm going to go with Inside Story. It's just a lot funnier and has better music and environments.
The results:
ML SS: 5
ML PiT: 3
ML BiS: 4
Which item do you think is more useful?
FIRE FLOWER.
BURN BABY BURN
Ice Flower was cool in Galaxy, but sucked in Bros. Wii so Fire Flower it is!
I loved Ice Flower in Galaxy. It was so cool walking on those water spouts and freezing them solid. :3
I also prefer fire flower because it's easier to kill enemies. Either button mash or shake the Wii-mote.
Fire flower cause it's gonna be one of the most kickass items in Mario Kart 7! ;D
Walking on water is sweet ;D
Fire-flowers kill easily 8)
I love the fire flower, but, personally, I prefer the ice flower. It has so many more uses and it's a lot of fun to throw frozen enemies at other players. :P
Quote from: WarioMan98 on September 18, 2011, 08:23:20 AMFire flower cause it's gonna be one of the most kickass items in Mario Kart 7! ;D

I think it's very useful and cool! In one of the most recent interviews with Konno (I think) you see that you can shoot fireballs both forward and backwards. One of my favorite new items so far! ;D
Didn't they have something like that in Double Dash? I think that there was a green one and a red one for Mario and Luigi's special.]
I'll update the poll when I think of some more characters.
Ice ice, baby (mario)
:)
^ Crap, now that song is my head.
Sorry about the long wait! Let's start this up again.
How could you choose anyone but Peach.
Peach is obviously a slut. Have you seen those shorts on Mario Kart and Mario Tennis? Tisk tisk. Rosalina wins hands down.
NOBODY VOTE DAISY.
Daisy is kinda cute though.
True, but her voice needs improvement.
Very true, if you ever played Mario Power Tennis before, she keeps on saying "harp" for some reason. :P It's very annoying.
Speaking of which, Mario Tennis for 3DS looks really fun!
Gotta go with Rosalina. Cosmic princess FTW
I've mentioned this before, but it's really fun when you win with Peach in a free-for-all on wifi.
Not that anybody goes on wifi anymore... :'(
Oh Lord DAISY! She's so stupidly annoying. Who could forget "Hi! I'm Daisy!" from Double Dash. Rosalina's much better
Quote from: SlowPokemon on October 02, 2011, 06:08:02 PMSpeaking of which, Mario Tennis for 3DS looks really fun!
It really does! I hope they put a RPG like part like in the one for the GBA.
Back to the princesses, I don't really mind, but I think that Peach is my choice. Not that I don't like the others, though. :)
WHO VOTED FOR DAISY?
I voted peach, daisy was my second choice though.
Peach... because if she wasn't kidnapped all the time Mario would just be a plumber. :p
Man, I saw peach and was like, meh. Then I saw Daisy and thought YES! Then when I saw Rosalina I was AAAAAWWW YEEEEEAH!
Bump, you guys never make any new polls anyhow *runs*
I vote for Rosalina here
Peach - Cute and all, but mostly gets kidnapped without doing a thing
Daisy - Only like her in the spin-off-games for her non-Peach-attitude
Rosalina - Mystic, some-kind-of-leader and sexy

I wouldn't mind if you made another poll, I screwed up mine because I accidentally didn't make it to where it locks after a certain amount of time. :P
If you do that it's impossible to reset it, so you did the right thing. :P I don't have a problem with this thread, as long as it keeps getting updated.
Chain Chomp in Mario 64 is amazing. Wiggler in 64 was funny too but Chain Chomp is more memorable.
Why doesn't anyone like wiggler? :'(
I like Wiggler. He was awesomely hilarious in Bowser's Inside Story and Super Mario 64. But I like Chain Chomp better :/ sorry.
lol I only found out about wiggler in Mario 64 earlier this year. xD
Chain Chomp! Despite being aggressive and kinda stupid, I find this creatures really cute! ;D
I like Wiggler too, but Chain Chomp... C'mon! It's a barking metal ball! Who couldn't love it! :D
Dang it! I really like Wiggler, but Chain Chomp is just so much better! Although those blasted Chomps on Rainbow Road always wrecked me in Mario Kart 64...
Wiggler!
I felt so sorry for him in SM64 when I destroyed his home... xD
Has to be Chain Chomp. By far the scariest compared to the Wiggler. I loved hitting the Chain Chomp in MKDS when I was about to get hit by a blue shell. XD
I like both Wiggler and Chain Chomp, but I like the charm chain chomp has even though he is so simplistic.
I have seen in the new Paper Mario 3DS he may be a partner!

Bump, I find Chain Chomp to be much better.
I don't mind Wiggler, since he seems to have the right attitude towards life (just wiggling around), but he mostly annoyed me in NSMBW
Chain Chomp on the other hand, PWNED in Link's Awakening (what do you mean BowWow?)
Thanks for bumping, I totally forgot about this. I'll have a new poll up here soon.
Alright, new poll has been added.
TOTALLY Mario Kart 64. I've played the Wii one; it's okay. I have wonderful memories associated with the 64 such as racing my younger bothers and annoying them whenever I won battle. :D
64 all the way. Mario Kart Wii did a few mistakes we kinda asked Nintendo to do.
Somebody must have thought "Wouldn't it be fun if there were more racers to compete against?", and rolled with that. However, that also means that a lead position player would get 1.5x as many items fired at him. And the AI liked to synch these attacks. (Blooper + POW Block + Blue shell in rapid succession. Somebody did the calculations based on online races, and found out that the likeliness of getting hit by all three at once was about once every eighty races). In short, you can drive like a god and still finish tenth due to a barrage of suspiciously synched attacks from a cheating AI (anybody noticed the rubber band effect?).
MK64 was extremely good for its time. While a lot simpler, it's a better use of the tools of the day. Though, it has to be admitted, MKWii has some really nice features such as the ability to do player-versus-AI races outside the Cups, as well as some really nice stages. Face it, some of the MK64 stages are b-o-r-i-n-g, especially in Time Trials.
Hadn't it been so annoying, Wii would have taken the trophy. It features some innovative ideas, and cool stages and some sweet music. However, it is annoying and therefore deserves to lose. Cheating ***** game.
At least they're changing the amount of racers back for Mario Kart 7. :D
Is that the 3DS Mario Kart you're referring to?
Yup... It is called Mario Kart 7, isn't it?
I have no idea. I haven't been keeping up with the news lately... our Nintendo Power subscription didn't follow me to college lol
Gotta be 64. I love Mario Kart but was so unbelievably underwhelmed when I played Mario Kart Wii that I never even bought it. 64 was part of my childhood and I still have great memories of playing it then and now.
I am excited for Mario Kart 7 though! (it is called that) It looks like Mario Kart DS which is by far my favorite so I'm sure it'll turn out fine. And I'll get to play some of those Mario Kart Wii tracks that I didn't really get a chance to play.
Why is double dash not an option? :(
Welp, I was doing something like retro against new-age. I can include Double Dash in the next poll, though.
I also didn't choose to do Super Mario Kart because I would think most people would've played Mario Kart 64 rather than Super Mario Kart.
Double Dash definitely would of had my vote. Bestest one yet.
I'll go with Mario Kart Wii, I've never been much for MK64
Gonna be interesting with MK7 coming up now, too bad I'm broke
64. More nostalgia. MKW was fun and fantastic and had better characters and was the "better game" but I never got into it all that much.
Quote from: spitllama on November 29, 2011, 07:26:39 PMDouble Dash definitely would of had my vote. Bestest one yet.
I would have to agree. DD was one of the first video games I ever remember playing.
You should've added Bowser to the poll he's my favourite character in any game even in a game without Bowser in it.
....This poll is about comparing Mario Kart 64 to Mario Kart Wii...?

Okay... whoops my mistake in that case I say Mario Kart 64 is better because some of the places in there are really fun to go to.
Bowser is the best character in the game.
I've already put Bowser in a poll, but of course if I run out of ideas I'll start repeating characters and games. I'll have a new poll up here soon!
New poll up
Definitely Mega Mushroom. Probably because I don't like the controls for Mini, or I'm just not good at them.
Mini mushroom is so much fun to dash around with at ridiculous speeds. :D
True, but I enjoy the fun of crushing everything with a Mega Mushroom.
Mega Mushroom! Stomp stomp stomp...
Quote from: blueflower999 on December 13, 2011, 03:37:09 PMTrue, but I enjoy the fun of crushing everything with a Mega Mushroom.
LOL yeah! I love how ground pounding makes Goombas fall from the sky XD
It's still annoying when in Mario Vs. Luigi on New Super Mario Bros. DS when you get a Mega Mushroom on that one pipe stage and your friend keeps going down the pipe on the far right side to teleport to the left side and you can't get him. >:(
Gotta go with the Mega Mushroom here. Nothing beats destroying everything.
Mega mushroom all the way
I'll go for Mega Mushroom, but I love both Mega Mushroom and Mini Mushroom! Both have their awesome uses. :D
I always love a bump, it reminds me to update this. New poll!
Diddy Kong ftw.
Quote from: Roz~ on February 28, 2012, 06:26:10 AMDiddy Kong ftw.
yarly
I just find him to be much funnier + it's fun to make fun of others with banana-combos in brawl (so much fun!)
Quote from: Ragster on February 27, 2012, 02:25:27 PMI always love a bump, it reminds me to update this. New poll!
*Bump*
Diddy Kong. 100%.
well, in turns of brawl...i would say diddy kong
But I like both DK and DK! :(
Alright, here is a poll I haven't done before: Which Super Mario 64 level is your favorite?
I have to go with Lethal Lava Land. I have always loved this level, especially as a kid. I am gonna play it NOW... :D
Whomp's fortress is so much fun
I love all of them sooo much! But probably Big Boo's Haunt is my favorite, it definitely was as a kid
Hazy Maze Cave has one of my favorite remixes of the classic SMB underground theme. :D
Has to be Bomb-omb Battlefield. I've never played any of this game but that level. XD
yeah, for sure it is bomb-omb battlefield. It has always been my favorite level just to mess around.
Bomb-Omb battlefield. It's my go-to level when I need a break from the harder ones.
FUCK YOU TICK TOCK CLOCK AND RAINBOW RIDE
Bob-Omb Battlefield FTW!!!
i actually didnt like rainbow ride...maybe coz i didnt like the constant camera angle movements or i just suck in tat stage...xD
They're just all so amazing. Of course at this point I could probably do Bob-Omb Battlefield blindfolded (besides that fucking level with the cannon and the five secret rings...)
Eff those five secret rings, oh my god. D:
They're all quite awesome, I must say.
Really hard to pick a favourite. Among others, Shifting Sand Land deserves a mention. I really can't put the finger on what's good it it, but I guess it's got something to do with the simplicity of the level layout, the intriguing pyramid, or that little pond with the palm trees.
Big Boo's Haunt is also cool. I remember exploring that spooky manor for the first time, finally figuring out how to wall-jump up to the attic, or hearing the merry go-round music for the first time.
Hazy Maze Cave... the place just seems so big. It has really great atmosphere, that level. From the Lapras thingy swimming in the hidden lake, to the bugs jumping around. The poisonous cave. Rolling boulders. It's obvious that we're somewhere underground under or behind the castle. Is this Peach's private mine?
Who can forget Jolly Roger Bay? One of the most beautiful pieces of video game music ever, the gloomy lagoon with all the underwater secrets, the terrifying eel...
Tall, Tall Mountain should also be mentioned. It's a mountain. Period. Apart from some weird mushrooms, there is nothing else there. It has a river running from the top to the bottom, some enemies scattered about, a secret slide, and that's it. It doesn't need to do more than that. No back story, no quirky inhabitants, or any plot significance whatsoever. It's generally awesome in its simplicity.
Wet-Dry world as well... who built it? There is a huge city in the background. Where is that? Why is there nobody around? What is that little town supposed to be? Is this a post-apocalyptic future? Or ruins of a mysterious civilization? A parallel dimension? Where does all the water come from? Where does all the water go? The Wet-Dry World guards its secrets well.
Tiny-Huge Island is just fun. Whether it's being chased by Piranha Plants the size of oak trees (or is that Mario being very small?), or kicking Goombas no bigger than teacups around, or just braving the mountain, it's a cool level.
Also, toying around with cannons and the Wing Cap in Bob-omb Battlefield is one of my best video game memories ever. The freedom to roam around is one of the things I miss the most in the Galaxy games, and the one thing I praise the most in Super Mario Sunshine.
For me, Super Mario 64 was percieved through the eyes of a child, and seasoned with nostalgia as I grew. For younger people, who are used to better graphics, more interactivity and a more intriguing story, it might not seem as impressive. But in my time, it was flat-out awesome. Games aren't about what buttons you press, or what you see on the screen, it's about how you play it. The tiny details your mind makes up as you play. The memories of it later on. Seeing beyond the possibilities of the game, imagining yourself in the hero's place. Super Mario 64 is in an almost perfect balance between appealing graphics and gameplay on screen, and giving you room to fill out in your mind. Very, very few games manage this as well as good ol' SM64.
Ahhh Bob-omb Battlefield. I love the music and to just run around and do random crap :D
I love the boo mansion! Kinda reminds me of Luigi's Mansion now.

That was quite poetic.
Cobraroll does that. ^_^
New poll! New poll!

I'm 99.99% sure that it IS Luigi's Mansion...or at least, the beginnings of it...think about it. Both mansions were created by boos, and they are both in a forest(?) this similarities are all there- the only difference being the general layout, but that's not important- after all, since when dies a haunted house stay the same?
....it's not Luigi's mansion....
Bump in the hope for a new game the next time I open this forum
