yeah, it's one of the best shows on TV (both critically and in my opinion). it's about these people who survive a plane crash on some uncharted island and all the bizarre things that happen to them on the island. it's also really interesting because each episode devotes a lot of time to flashbacks, or in the more recent episodes, flash forwards, to help develop character backgrounds. it's a fun mystery/action/adventure/drama show, you should check it out. (and if you haven't been watching it, it might be kind of hard to just jump onto the show right now, so try either watching old episodes or find out the plot up till now somehow.)

last night's episode (and therefore the whole show now) was just one giant time paradox. if you haven't seen it yet and don't want to be spoiled, stop reading after this word. (and for the rest of this post i'll assume you have seen it)
so if Desmond was doing all that stuff in the past because of what he was being told in the future, should it be that as soon as he has a 'flashback' that he would no longer have the information from the past because what's his face physicist dude would already remember what happened? but because of that, he would not remeber because neither would Desmond so Desmond would not carry out his task. but if Desmond did remember, then so should physicist dude because it already happened. but the mouse 'Gluey' or something is what's screwing it up. if physicist dude never was seen teaching Gluey the maze what future did Gluey go to to learn the maze? is it that one action that messes up the timespace continuum and is what created the island? i don't know, that's why i'm asking. feel free to share your hyperquantumtimespacephysicsthatyoufoundonWikipedia insights here!
It's like the way DBZ presents timetravel. Trunks travels back to a random past to try to save that world, even though he knows that doing so won't help his timeline (in the future). There are multiple realities- not just one straight line. The rat was taught the maze in an alternate future, but ended up living through a different one (in which it was "cured," ran the maze, and died).
that's kind of what i thought, with the parallel timelines, but it's confusing... and Faraday's also a time traveler, so...

nah, it just kind of gets on my nerves a little when people just don't use grammar or spelling. i know don't capitalize anything, but that's because i'm lazy. :P but if it's not his first language, i've seen and heard worse. :-\
On Topic: last night's episode was pretty good, the whole Juliet flashback didn't do much in adding to her character, i think, but i just love seeing those creepy Others. the whole thing withe Faraday and that other chick was predictable, but if was effective. there were really no big twists except for the revelation that Penny's dad is the guy who's looking for Ben. and Ben is free again. yay!

yesterday's episode of Lost was actually pretty good, imo. i personally like Jin and Sun, and i thought the episode was a good character study (i would've liked to see more hitman action on Jin's part in this episode, though). and now we know we know all of the Oceanic Six. and we know that maybe not all the people on the island will survive after the 6 are rescued...

I love Lost! I've gotten in long, complex conversations with friends over this show. It's such an addicting show.
the last episode was awesome! it had action, mystery, action, and mystery! NOTE: as this is an ongoing discussion thread, this thread does contain spoilers. this is a reminder because Lost has not been on, and thus there haven't been many spoilerish posts. be warned but no, it was awesome when they blew up Claire's house, and i laughed so hard when the three redshirts were killed one by one. i thought that the scene where Ben failed to save Alex was actually pretty powerful, and Ben's reaction says a lot about his character. the whole twist with the monster being summoned by Ben was a bit confusing, because Ben's pervious denial of knowing anything about it was convincing. and the last scene... i think ben can time travel somehow and that's why he just showed up in the middle of the desert (and it was awesome how he killed those two guys, i want one of those metal sticks!). this was an exciting episode, and i hope the rest of the season with be just as awesome.
I'm glad they finally killed off Ben's daughter, she was a freaking annoying character.

It was hilariously bad. The flash sideways got a cheesy "oh they were all dead and in purgatoryishland" deal, and it was an as expected "okay cool some of them left" thing.
Also, the fight with Smocke (I like it better than Flocke) was dumb and anticlimactic.
Lost sucks.
Stopped watching towards the end of the second season. Most recent image I have is that a couple of them are in an underwater silo type thing. I heard about the finale. "It was all a dream." I thought that was kind of BS.
I just started watching season 6 now.

I watched Lost from S1 to S6.
I got hooked the first time I watched this series.
The finale was disappointing.
