finished Deliver Hope (Halo: Reach)
Deliver Hope sounds beautiful, thanks so much man.
I tried as best i could. Took me about 30 minutes. i'm glad you finally got this request fufilled. :D
Yes I'm very thankful to see it actually fulfilled. Thanks again
I'm not going to be doing arrangements until the summer. School is taking up too much of my time to allow it. I'll be back on the arranging scene around mid-May. 'Til then!
Announcement #2: I'm adding a whole bunch of things on my to-do list from my favorite game, Dragon Quest 9: Sentinels of the Starry Skies. I hope you like them as much as i do :D

I'm working on an arrangement of the castle theme and plan on doing a few others.
Don't worry about the PDF's if you can't make them. I'll do it.

Aww shoot, I was hoping to steal PMD Rescue Team Base from you if you weren't going to arrange until summer :P
finished Cross the Fields, Cross the Mountains (Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies)
Nice arrangement of the Dragon Quest piece. Sounds accurate.
There's a few enharmonic spellings you need to correct. In measure 30, you should use G#, as you should also in measure 31 and 32 (instead of Ab). This makes more sense than the A-Ab chord you have spelled in measure 31, as well as the note resolves up to an A, so G#-A makes more sense than Ab-A.
In measure 38, use A#. This spells a complete major triad, F#-A#-C#, as opposed to F#-Bb-C#, which is not a triad.
It's odd that you use A# and Bb in the same measure in measure 47. Keep using the Bb in the melody. The C# is great.
The only other odd thing about the piece is that you used the 2nd layer feature throughout the 2nd half of the piece. It will print out black, just looks funny on the screen.
Excellent job. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the critique. I will fix those things. Also i wasn't sure what was going on with the red notes lol thx for telling me now :D
Finished Overture IX (Dragon Quest IX) Also added MIDI files of all my work thus far.
Wow. I'm on a roll today! Also finished Heaven's Prayer (Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies)
Simplicity at it's finest. I give you...Healed By a Hymn (Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies)
Finished Intermezzo (Dragon Quest IX)
I looked over them. Sorry, been busy the past few days.
Overture - Impressive work. Nice job. In measure 2 and where it occurs elsewhere, I would use D# instead of Eb. The note functions as a neighbor to E, going E-D#-E. This spelling shows the correct goals. You did this in measure 5, same thing here. Use Db instead of C# in measure 4, as the root of the chord there is Db (Db-F-Ab). You offset the true beat 1 when the main theme comes in by a count. You have the pickup notes as beat one. I would change the 2/4 to 3/4 and use the pickups there, keeping the rest in 4/4 time. That Eb in measure 13-14 as well. The rest looks fine. You may have to adjust the ending after changing the time signature, but that shouldn't be too difficult.
Heaven's Prayer - I would use the 8va where the melody jumps up an octave. Generally, anything over 3 ledger lines is seen as unclean. I guess you could use the 8va in the bass where you do, but you hadn't so far so it seems unexpected. The ending is nice. I noticed one note doubling/hand collision thing in measure 38, beat 4. One of the notes should be in parentheses, the note least necessary in the passage (the arpeggio). These are allowed, but should be probably notated. The reach for the bass notes in 57 and 59 are a bit far, so you probably need to roll the chord or indicate that the right hand should play the top note ((R.H.) next to the note).
Healed by a Hymn - Perfect. Except I don't recognize the ending. Could just be me. If you composed that bit, I would suggest ending on a G major triad.
Intermezzo - The same thing with doublings here, such as measure 2. I'd probably just delete the first 2nd layer note. Or you could make the whole thing 1 layer whenever this occurs. Never use 2 dotted notes next to each other in simple time signature. It's okay with complex meter, like 12/8, which you use them later. So change that to dotted quarter, eighth tied to a quarter, then a quarter. Use that notation whenever you find this rhythm (which happens a lot). Spell the F#, Gb in measure 15, as well as the C#, Db. The Gb acts as a passing tone, as the Db a neighbor. This spelling shows the goal of the notes (G-Gb-F, Db-C). Since the line descends, so should your spelling. The G# shows the ascending line and the flats will show the descending line.
All of these need the title fixed, as it is too large according to the sheet guidelines.
Let me know if I missed something. Hope this helps.
Saves me a lot of time xD
You should do the Rescue Team Base from Mystery Dungeon. Great song.
If you know me at all Night, you should EASILY be able to guess which song I think you should arrange next :3
Is it just me, or are the links broken?
I'm adding a new feature to my arrangements page. Now you can track the progress of any of my in progress arrangements by clicking the links in the front post! Feel free to give me your critiques! I appreciate them!
Just found out what your username references lol [slowpoke.jpg]

I think so but not that color.
Color=irrelevant. Select the tool that looks like a "%" and then click on the sheet-JUST DON'T CLICK ON A STAFF. Then resize to about 80%. This should fix your problem.
I'll try it.

I did it. It cut it down to 8 pages :D
IT'S FINALLY DONE!!!!!!!!
WOOT!
Live and Learn (Sonic Adventure 2)
190 measures :o, this has got to be your most ambitious arrangement yet Night, and of an awesome song from an awesome game, no less. I really have no complaints on the arrangement itself, but there are some aesthetic issues. For example, at measure 74 and nearby, some notes of the red 2nd layer seem "misaligned", "out of position". To fix that, all you need to do is delete the misaligned note and then re-enter it.
Things to point out:
-Subtitle and arranger need to be Italicized
-Your dynamic choices...are odd...I don't think this song originally uses fortissississimo.
-RH measures that look like 13, 30, 44, 45, 46, 66, 107, 119, 122 are written incorrectly.

My motto with that song is "Play it loud and proud or gtfo. lol."
All jokes aside, you probably shouldn't go above fortissimo. That's already really freakin' loud.
Edit: also your motto's quote didn't have a closing parentheses. xD
Oh my gosh it sounds so much better than the original xD The lyrics ruin it imo.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

I see what you did thar...
Great arrangement of Live and Learn. You recapture everything the original brought to the table (including those parallel fifths and octaves... dunno how I feel about them on piano anymore, but since this is a rock song, have at it).
Just a few technical things to sort out. This piece has a bunch of syncopation so making that clear wherever possible will enhance the performance. You must strive to show beat 3 in every measure. Take measure 14 for example. The measure should be notated 2 8ths, 1 8th rest, 1 8th note tied to another 8th note, then dotted quarter. This happens later in measures 21, 30 (put the eighth note after the dotted quarter, then tie to the half note), 36, 44 (use a quarter instead), 44 (use a quarter note on the first tie to clear up the measure), 48, 56, 60, 66, 68, 91-92, 93, 95, skip a few, 123, 126, etc. The song is very repetitive so you should know where to check for these mistakes by now.
Measure 34 should use B# instead of C natural. Besides voice leading rules, this also clarifies the chord (G#, B#, D#, F# instead of G#, C, D#, F#?). This occurs at measures 47, 51, 55, 59, 80-81, 94, 106, 123 (F double sharp instead of G natural), 128, etc. Again, song is repetitive so fix this at the repeats as well. Sometimes there's supposed to be C naturals and D naturals; I've left those measures out from above as they need no accidental correction.
Watch out for dynamics and other marking touching other dynamics or notes or stems in measures 42-43, 64, 74, 78, 82, and 189. Be sure to watch out for this as you input these so you don't have to go back and make corrections next time.
If you want a more detailed explanation of why these corrections are necessary, feel free to PM me! Thanks for your arrangement! =D
Thanks for the nice critique pumpy! I had the dynamics spaced oddly for playback reasons, but i'll fix them xD
EDIT: OMG MY 1000th POST!!!!!!! :D
You now have to wait 24hrs before posting again

bump because i really kinda wanna do some Kid Icarus Uprising stuff.
Hey K-NiGhT, I listened to your version of Live and Learn, and it sounds really good, but my computer can't read mus files. Is there any chance you could make a PDF version of it please? I've been looking for sheet music for that song for the last 2 years!!
I would love to help you out, man, but converting things into PDFs isn't my forte, if you'll pardon the pun. I'll see what I can do, though!
Ok i'm scrapping my to-do list and starting over.
So as long as no one has done it, I'll be taking the main theme of New Leaf.
I also plan on finishing Shado's arrangement of Dark Pit's Theme.
bump becuz reboot
so i'm doing the entire soundtrack to Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!

finished Title/Introduction (Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!)
boom! 4 arrangements total today!
And sextuple posts!

that request for smash final result made me realize that i haven't done anything with my arrangements in like 10 months. maybe this weekend i'll finish punch out!
Bump because I've actually been doing some arranging again! We'll see if I can get anything actually accomplished this time. Working on Classic: Final Result from SSB4 right now!
I've re-created my original post from scratch, and my to-do list as well :D there are some new arrangements up as well if you want to check them out.
