This game probably is the best game ever made, but I will judge that for myself when I buy it.

i personally find nothing wrong with being evil in a video game, because i'm a good person in real life. and i can distinguish between reality and video games, so i won't go on a rampage just to reenact what i did in the video game.

Actually, that is being an idiot. The game could be amazing, and you would love it if it didn't have the whole prostitute killing homicidal crazy guy aspect to it.
I'll never buy that game or like it because of that, but that doesn't mean I can run around saying the game sucks. Thats just stupid and naive.
It's great because you can do all things you're not allowed to in real life, and it's available for millions of people.
But a 10/10? Not a chance. There is a deal between IGN and R*, and don't deny it.
yeah, IGN is corrupt, but i think they mean this one. and i'm not saying it deserves a 10, but i think it might be a great game.
I wasn't expecting 10/10 but we'll see the other reviews first.
There exist this thing as a embargo, which will continue until Tuesday for anyone, even press. IGN, however, was able to play the game thoroughly so they must have had a deal with R*.
IGN giving any game a 10 now is just them making a deal with the company. There have been no games worthy of a 10/10 recently. A 5/5 may be the exact same in some views, but it actually seems a little different. I'm assuming X-Play will give it this rating, but meh. They have a really good system where they define each of the numbers.

Never liked the GTA games. Way too repetitive. The only fun I get out of it is putting on God mode, all weapons and getting a save game that has everything unlocked and cause havok in the city and race around trying to do huge stunts. Then I get bored after an hour and never play again. I tried the missions and never liked them. Saying this game is the best game since OoT is like saying all FPS games are amazing, even though they're all the same.
Well I wasn't going to play this game because I haven't really played any of the others and didn't look like a game I would want but IGN gave the first 10/10 to a console game since Soul Caliber to it so I have to rent it.
I'm not saying the game sucks, just like gamer said, i would play it if it weren't for the super bad stuff in it. heck yah it's fun shooting someones tires, then stealing the car and blowing it up. But the other stuff is why i said what i did

Gotta love America! (/wherever you and others here live) It's okay to kill people (picture how bad someone's life just ending is in your mind), but it's bad to have sex (now picture how bad the action that keeps the human race alive is). People's ethics are really screwed up.
Gamespot just gave GTA IV a 10/10, there first since that tony hawk game and there 5th or so ever.
I knew they would copy IGN, they usually do now that all the pro reviewers are gone.

yea i agree.. i like shooters just as much as the next person but i don't like how it's just plain killing... there's not even a reason for why your killing people... (although doing the stunts is kinda fun on gta san adreas) but games like cod and moh are shooters but have a reason for shooting... so far... no game has got a ten since tony hawk pro skater 3, soul calibur and Oot. now those are good games.. cod 4 is up there too =P oh and all the metroid primes...

The game is amazing, just compare it to a crime movie.
many say its fun but GTA for me has no fun

This game is getting really sweet.
The GTA series are ok games. You have a good amount of things to do in them but most of those things require goin around and killin others. ONE HUGE thing i hate about the GTAs is the cop system. i mean freakin your in a dark alley with this other guy and theres nobody around to see and when you kill the guy, you get 1 star. WTF
Yes, the cop system in this one is horrible. It is so unbelievably bad that I have shut my 360 off out of frustration.
You can't do anything without getting 1 star and its a bitch to get out of even a one star circle.
Ocarina of Time is still the best game on Metacritic scoring a 99/100.

hm, I was thinking that GTAIV was going to overtake The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion as my favourite game ever, but I guess not. I don't play it much and it is a little repetitive, and frustrating with that DAMN COP SYSTEM.
If they ever make a another GTA then gamers should send RockStar a petition to make a better cop system. ;D
I'm hoping for GTA:GTA (Greater Toronto Area) would be so awesome.
Could be called GTA City. Its getting pretty bad for crime there and would be nice for the series to depart from America and head up to Canada.

What's so special about GTA IV anyway? Isn't it basically the same as GTA 3/SA/VC?
I never liked any of those three, GTA2 was the greatest because that's 2D and 2D kicks ass.
oh sweet, this game is getting amazing.
If you get a cop car you can access the computer in it and fight crimes. Now there is a most wanted list where you have to track down certain criminals and kill them.

Is there such a thing as "Best game ever"?
I don't care about ratings. A game that is released for one console can get a different rating for another console even if they're virtually the same, but were reviewed by a different person (Look on IGN for Marvel Vs Capcom 2 for Xbox and PS2, there's a huge difference, but I've palyed both and I can tell you they're the same (but Xbox needs no memory card)).
Zelda OoT was great, and so was GTA4, but i don't see why they should be "best games ever" either. That's probably for fanboys only.
By the way, mine's Chrono Trigger, Followed by TimeSplitters Future Perfect and Dead Rising.

I checked Gamefaqs' top 10 Xbox 360 games and Dead Rising spent quite a while on the 5th position until games like Mass Effect and Devil May Cry 4 started to appear in groups, and it had quite good sales. Game's really good unless you have a low tolerance level for it's flaws :P
