Anyone can contribute! Below is a list of all the songs in the soundtrack, except a few that weren't really songs to begin with. If there are any alternate names or songs that cant be arranged for an instrument, please tell me. The entire soundtrack can be found here (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL32EAC40D5778B393)

Hm...thats quite the list we have here... maybe take off the PDA mails? also if im not mistaken, the mirror b theme is already completed on the main page
Yeah I know :P Miror bs theme is different for Pokemon xd, so it hasn't been arranged yet
I like the colosseum one better :) fits his personality more, also, which measures were they in the relic forest theme? I wanna get that one checked off xD
I can't remember, and I'm not on a computer so I can't look again. I'll check it off for now, it wasn't that bad.
Ok, should we include greevil's theme from XD at some point, because that was just epic... other than that... I would say take out some of the ones that are just sound effects like the pick up item ect. what do you mean by virtual? also, mt. battle theme is in progress, ill take that one
Virtual is a song from the soundtrack, but was never actually included in the game. We can take it out if necessary. Also, yeah the pick up items things should go too, but some of them are short but memorable so I'll keep a few. How big is the Pokemon XD soundtrack? If its not too bad and has a lot of songs from colosseum that are reused we could make this a joint arrangement project.
We could, but I personally think we need to get at least 3 more people, and about 5-10 more of those in green before we add anything else because honestly, that list is scaring me right now. some of these are quite long and require a whole lot of instruments which will take a few weeks to arrange at least
Some are longish, but they don't have to be multiple instruments. Trust me, now that I have the list of songs in front of me it'll be a lot quicker for me to arrange? There's only about 30 or so songs to be arranged, and a lot of them have the same rhythm/tune
true... i may have some of these stored in a file deep in my computer which would knock off about 10 or so from the list... ill take a look
Who is doing the cipher admin theme? i have a copy of one that I wrote a long time ago, it just needs editing if you would like to use that.
Didnt Shado say he was?
Thats right... its not bad, the rythms are all correct but one and some of the chords seem... off by a bit but other than that its pretty good... i have a few more but they all need some major editing, should i fix them and upload or what do you suggest?
Its orchestra right? Sure, go ahead. I might take your orshestra arrangements and switch them over to piano, so players have the choice of solo or in a group
Ok that would work... I have all of these below i believe that just need to be edited
Agate Village
Cipher Administrator Battle
First / Friendly Battle
Story Mode Normal Battle
Ok. Agate Village Normal battle have already been arranged, but yours are different since theyre more than just piano. Since Shado is doing the Cipher Admin battle, all I need to convert is the Friendly Battle theme. When you're editing the mistakes, also change them to follow the format found here (http://www.ninsheetm.us/smf/index.php?topic=481.0)
You know, we could make the official thread switch to Pokemon Colosseum, if you would like. I can remake the front post. We shouldn't have a whole bunch of Arrangement Project threads.
Meaning that you're willing to oficially stop the Dragonquest one?
i have no idea what that means, but yes, i will fix the formatting... sorry about that.
I have now finished the Normal battle theme, take a look

Oh my god. I almost dont want to make that piano it sounds like the original
hahaha, thanks a lot xD, I had a lot more knowledge of this then and I am now just getting back into it. I just fixed the format on relic forest as well... agate village needs editing on the notes and the cipher team im just going to send to shado and let that disaster be his problem :) I will go deal with the friendly battle now
Quote from: WarioMan98 on August 25, 2012, 04:10:07 AMIf we're going to start a new project, I think a poll with various options would be nice.
Thats why Im hesitant to move it to the stickied one. This isnt supposed to be a huge community project, its just a small group of people who want to finish a soundtrack that has been neglected
I personally believe that at least for now, it is far enough up on the page that if people care, they will take a look. Wow, now only three things left ive said im going to do... oh well, time to get to work!

The MIDI of this song on Vgmusic sounds alot like your arrangement, particularly the ending. The way the percussion is written out messily with 1 layer further suggests MIDI importation.
I can understand using a MIDI for reference if you're making a piano arrangement, but what is the point of importing an orchestral MIDI into Finale and calling it your arrangement?
(...if you didn't do any of this, I apologize for coming across harshly, but the evidence seems to indicate my assertion)
I did use the VG as reference (the ending and percussion mainly), however i can assure you that the rest of it is mine, I couldn't hear some of the chord structure from mp3's so I took a look at some other versions and settled on that one to base it off of, making the changes necessary to fix it, as well as editing in my own touch. I'm not the best arranger, I am much better at editing as I tend to find mistakes. As I am doing with the Agate Forest right now. I am right before when the strings come in, some of my own, some from already written midis, trying to come out with the best possible result.
Ah, ok then. That's understandable. It's just, when you're on a site dedicated to making piano transcriptions of Nintendo music, I can't help but raise an eyebrow at something like this, considering it won't ever go onto the main site. To me, it'd just feel like wasted time.
Thats where bubbles comes in, other than all of the other help they are providing to this, they are going to translate what I have written to the piano. I would do all of this myself, but I am a violist and I rarely write for piano because it doesnt turn out as good. again referencing agate village. I am using the original intruments...ish (substituting harmonica for violin) and then borrowing the percussion idea from the VG track, the rest will be mine. I am just at the midpoint.
Never mind, now taking out percussion because it is refusing to work >:( Sorry its taking so long, its acting funny and i basically wrote it and then had to re write it due to a system error so I am almost back to the middle.
Yes, I know I butchered this badly, which is why I need extreme feedback

Great :D
Quote from: Uraziel on August 25, 2012, 05:00:09 PMwell... a lot of the chords were wrong... wheres the left hand part? that would help a lot
No, there is a right hand and a left hand in this piece. Normally, theres the treble clef for right hand and the bass clef for left hand, but in this case the notes are all in treble clef. It basically makes the notes higher and easier to read, to put it simply
Ok, It just seemed like you were missing a lot of notes, which may have lead to the interesting chord structure.
Yeah I know alot of its wrong, but I cant figure out exactly what to change to fix it.
hm... i'll take a look
How about you take lines 5 and 6 and play them as the opener, you can take the 3 whole note tie and just use that at the beginning and then pedal it. Then when the melody comes in, play that on left hand and then take line five, bring it down an octave combining it with line six and put that as the left hand part. Then when it changes again, of course play the melody on left hand, then you can figure out the harmony based on what i have written. Did you follow all of that?
I think so, but why play the melody on the left hand? The melody as in the flute.
And I originally put the whole note ties in there but it didnt sound right
oops, im sorry i meant right, as i have said many times before, im a violist so we play everything with our left hand xD the whole notes didnt sound right because there dissonent with the other notes but trust me on this. If One Summer's Day can do it, so can I/We!
One Summer's Day? And I Play violin as well as piano so I know what you mean, but the sheet music for the same is basically the same. Though I think viola sheet music is different.....or is that cello?
Quote from: Bubbles7689 on August 25, 2012, 07:34:12 PMThough I think viola sheet music is different.....or is that cello?
Viola is written using alto clef.
Oh right. I remember I tried to play an orchestra piece that had piano and viola and it didn't sound right.
Yeah, we are the only instrument played in modern times to use alto clef, not even the alto sax uses it xD but yeah, I do tend to use alto clef in some of my arrangements just because its a lot easier for me, sorry about that just for the future.
Ok since you make arrangements with multiple instruments, I think Ill make another color to show that. Blue :P
hahaha, i feel special now... is there anybody else that does that here?
A few, Im sure
Ok, Im still not satisfied with the formatting. Should I keep it the way it is, or make seperate sections for completed and non-arranged songs?
I'd love to help, but I'm so horrible at arranging.

I was thinking of doing that, but making half the word green and the other half blue, or something like that. Oh well. Ill think of something in the morning
I just finished measure 19, bubbles: When I'm done, can you go back and add in the piano notes in the background that I missed? other than that, it should be fine probably withing the next few days (school starts tomorrow)
Sure. What song is it? And yeah school starts next week for me, but Ill probably still be around.
I also updated the page, to try and make things easier to read. I still have a copy of the original if you like that one better
Still the Agate village theme, im transitioning from the end of the theme before the repeat with strings. then i still have to write the second theme after that.
Now done with the repeat... sort of, done for the night, but the last bit shouldnt take too long.

Also, you might want to include a link to the soundtrack.

Watch me.
Yeah, its naturally going to take a while, have you heard this one before? It seems like it would be difficult to arrange which is why I am avoiding it xD
Just one quick thing... I think it would be best for either shado or bespin to arrange the final battle thing, not because I dont have faith in either of you or myself but because honestly, thats the toughest thing to arrange in the game.
We cant just force people to make arrangements, though. I know for sure that Bespinben has alot on his plate right now, and I dont want to burden him any more than he is. Well get there when we get there, Im just working on shortening the to do list right now

We have beastly arrangers on the site other than Shado & Bespinben. And yeah, I have heard the demo. It seems like the only hard part would be figuring out the chords.
@ Bubbles, your to-do list doesn't match up to the soundtrack. Might wanna fix that.
What parts? I just took the names from gilvasunner since those are usually the real ones
Just immediately looking @ the OST, I see Wes Steals the Snatching Machine not on your list. Pretty sure there are more. I've never played the game... do you have it under a different title?
There are few ones missing that would be important, Zeldshorse, why dont you name them all?
Quote from: Uraziel on August 29, 2012, 03:08:06 PMThere are few ones missing that would be important, Zeldshorse, why dont you name them all?
Zeldshorse? lolwut?
Like I said, I've never played the game, so I don't know which ones would be crucial. Sorry I can't help more. :-[
The ones that arent sound affects basically... whats wrong with zeldahorse?
<-----look closer-----
That's not the username
Also 'sound effects,' AKA fanfares, are often really important. So I'm not sure what to tell you. It all depends on what you and Bubbles want in there.
I distinctly remember having Wes steals the snatching machine on the list :o. It must have gotten deleted somewhere when I reorganized the catagories. Ill add it. Also, I kept some of the fanfares except the 10 different sounds for the PDA mails, which are basically short cell phone ringtones that dont have much of an actual music/rhythm in them

I am still going to call you that, i guess i dont see the problem but whatever. other than the left hand issue, how is it coming bubbles?
Thats the only thing wrong with it now (that I know of), but since that a considerebly large part, its come to a standstill. Im thinking about messing with Es Cade's theme to make Evice's theme though
Do that until I can take a look at it, no sense wasting time. :)
Just a quick question, was there more than one theme for the battles in the quick battle mode? (1v1 and 2v2 modes)
I actually don't know, since I never did multiplayer battling on that game. The thing I notices though was that the Vs Battle Mode songs sound suspiciously like a battle theme from R/S/E, but I cant place which. If they're exact copies except for small extra instruments, I don't want to re-arrange them

Trying to arrange cypher peon battle, would anyone happen to know what key it's in. Oh, and how do I slow it down (I can't even begin to imagine what that left hand is doing.)
How do you slow down a youtube video? Im assuming theres some website that does it. Other than that, Im not sure. No idea about the key, I usually just put the notes in until I realize it
I'll try and find a website. As of now, I'm just gonna stick with me guess of E minor.

I believe it is in A minor, just from playing around with the first 10 seconds (anyone feel free to contradict me on this). If you have the piece on your computer, windows media player can slow it down to 50% speed.
@ Bubbles, I found a couple hours in which to work on. Game Demo is around 30% done. Don't expect it anytime soon tho, cuz school.

You can't slow down a Youtube video directly. However, there are other methods available. Are you familiar with the program Audacity? It's a free audio editing program, one function among many of which allows you to adjust the tempo of the song. You'll have to import an mp3 or wav of the song into the program though, but that shouldn't be a problem since you can just use a Youtube to mp3 converter (google it).
So here's what you need to do:
1.) Download Audacity
2.) Use a youtube to mp3 converter on the song you're transcribing: http://www.youtube-mp3.org/
3.) Import the song's mp3 into Audacity and have fun!

Yeah, from what I've seen, Audacity's better than WMP.
Audacity is a wonderful program however I am using a mac. I am also working very slowly on the final battle theme, but the harmonies are posing a challenge... does anybody have any ideas on the key signature?
Hi, I'm Spo55, and I'm new here. I have a PDF version of Agate Village that I wrote. It's very basic, including the melody and simple guitar bassline, but I'd be happy to let someone use it and add and fix whatever needs to be added.
"Transcribe!" is an excellent program for arranging. So simple to use.
^Spit what does it do?
Transcribe! allows you to change the speed of audio without changing pitch. You can set loop points, compute tempo, receive guesses on what notes are being played, set markers for measures and beats, and use its virtual keyboard to arrange without having a piano nearby.
It looks like this:

Oh, too bad... I will definitely take a look at that, some of these are so difficult because they are moving so quickly, the final battle theme isn't fast as much as it just has so many layers that it makes it hard to hear everything that's going on.
I feel so stupid xD after a week of wanting to kill myself over writing the rhythm for mt. battle, i realized that all i had to do is subdivide and it came easily... as mr. perters has told me and the rest of the yosa philharmonic at least 10 billion times
Slowed down the song with windows media player. Figured out the notes alright, but now the timing is getting me. Gonna try some other programs that you guys suggested, but I'll probably just end up switching to an easier song (I got the first 2 measures of phenac city.)
Just subdivide the measures in your head, if its in 4/4, then instead of counting 1,2,3,4. count 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and, splitting the measures into eight notes, or even sixteenth notes.

I tried it, and failed (for some reason, I my brain can't comprehend the length of the notes.) Just gonna do phenac city so I can stop asking for help.
hahaha, the first part should be simple enough but the second part of that may be difficult for that one. I am just glad that the mt battle theme is used in multiple songs so that will save me some time.
I'm some % through the song (not gonna bother to figure it out) and I learned how horrible I am at arranging. I'll just post my 'finished' version (will have lots of missing voices and wrong notes), and maybe someone can turn it into a good arrangement.
Go ahead and post it. Ill take a look at it
i dont know why this piece is taking me so long, i have almost all of it done but still got a bit left to go for mt battle
Finished Nascour's Theme and Relic Forest in Danger. The second one was actually annoying after hearing it over and over :P Idk if it should be considered a song, but oh well
Still doing Game Demo. Sorry, I'm slow.

Theres no real rush to finish these songs. I actually started Nascour's theme 3 weeks ago and finiushed it today, since I had a small formatting issue and then just ignored it after that. Im not rushing anyone, the idea is just to finish all the songs
Yeah, rushing just leads to bad results, quality over quantity
YES! finally, i have finished the mt. battle theme, just the strings left to go!

It might be my memory is a tad wrong, but isn't Nascour fought entirely without music?
Nope, youre right. Nascour doesnt have a battle song, (weird) but he still has his own theme (the song that plays whenever you talk to/see him.
Here is Mt. Battle: The sheet is very rough and there is nothing I personally can do to fix that, I use a different program from finale making that very difficult for me to upload those files and ends up with them being very low quality sheets, if anyone would volunteer to fix it possibly?

It sounds like something from runescape :P
Ill change it to piano, but idk how to work multiple instruments

That's because older Runescape music was pure MIDI. No soundfonts.
Other than its apparent runescape-ness, any comments?
Rar. Bubbles & Uraziel, sorry this is taking so long. I am working on Game Demo right now; recently I've been so busy with hw mostly that I haven't had any spare time. It WILL get done eventually!
I'm in the same situation, no time for anything, but still trying to grind something out lol :)
...anyone else feel free to join :D Im doing Fadeen the Fortuneteller and Evice's Theme right now and am also transferring Mt. Battle to a solo piano
no... good luck with that... I have too much work right now... :'(
Unstickying due to inactivity.
Nooo :( We're doing it, but its slow. I have no idea where Uraziel is though

If I see some consistent activity for at least a week, I will put it back up.
Since this has been dropped, I suppose I'll drop Game Demo too. I was about halfway through. I'll post what I had later.

I only unstickied it due to inactivity.
True. It seems like Bubbles dropped it too though, and I really am not interested in doing this by myself.
At first I thought this was my Arrangement Project and thought I got critique for N's Room.

I did not >:( Fsm said he would do it all if the other one is finished
In two months.
:o I thought that was a joke! All right... sorry.... FSM, do you want what I have? Cause I'm also sorta struggling with this... I got a good bit done though.
lol if they manage to arrange the entire B/W2 soundtrack in two months I'll arrange all of these.
And we all know how well NSM arrangement projects go. I think we should honestly put up a poll, see what the community wants to do, and then let popular demand of the arrangers carry the project. Otherwise we just have people getting bored after two weeks and the project dying.

Well, thank you! That's what I had been saying! Finally someone who gets the point. :P

Finally.
Come on people, lets show the world that we actually can finish an arrangement project. :P Also, now that I can actually arrangement music, I'll put cipher peon battle in my giant to-do list.
The phenac city theme sounds great! aside from a few places but i mean, no arrangement is perfect. I finally have access to my desktop again for now <3 what should i be working on?
actually, scratch that. i'll start the piano version of the mount battle theme
