...Take it easy. They might take the SSBB aproach and make it optional. I don't see the big deal. So what! If B-K was on the wii, it would end up the same way. Just chill- u can panic on may 13th if they make the waggle controller mandatory. As for me, i'll be giving the game a chance :)

Post by: B-Kpianist on May 11, 2008, 04:43:32 PM
OMG! i saw u in the scribes! buuuuut, yeah THIS GAME WILL BE AN EPIC WIN!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: This whole game is not going to be vehicles, it's mumbo's new role! Observe the picture: Mumbo's Nuts (THE SEXUAL INUENDO's RETURN!!!!!), well aside of the joke, it's mumbo's new role... Along with transformations, he gives you vehicles you'll need for the level.

NEW THEORY!
And now i'm wondering. Is story line 3 the real one? They said that level's would return "in ways we wouldnt expect". Could this story take place BEFORE the levels were created? and the story takes place while the level's are being built (hence the gears)? who knows? we'll find out tuesday! ;D
Title: Re: Banjo-Kazooie 3 *SPOILERS* (NEW SCREENSHOTS!!! MUST SEE!!!!!!!)
Post by: KefkaticFanatic on May 11, 2008, 05:41:38 PM
Well the gears also strongly point toward number 3... but yeah, now I'm thinking vehicles are the new transformations.  Lets just hope they don't take up TOO much of the gameplay.

I think the vehicles are just like the vehicles used in Banjo Tooie, where you use them for a certain level.
Title: Re: Banjo-Kazooie 3 *SPOILERS* (NEW SCREENSHOTS!!! MUST SEE!!!!!!!)
Post by: KefkaticFanatic on May 11, 2008, 05:49:21 PM

Post by: B-Kpianist on May 11, 2008, 06:04:04 PM
the vehicles are the "new approach" to the banjo game. Instead of transforming INTO a vehicle, you get to use one. It all makes sense. I think that's what they meant by the "unique gameplay". But surely, it won't be all vehicle.

On a side note: they say that the name may be "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts" but it's not official! So don't trip if you don't like the name, it'll be revealed on tuesday ;D

[EDIT] My hopes are coming back, a quote from George K:
"Reading some of the comments, it's nice to see that people think the game is quite pretty, but its definitely not a racer, which is what some people think it is...You're better off waiting until tomorrow, when we reveal what is for us the most spectacular feature of the game, which is the gameplay mechanic."

Title: Re: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts (Update May 12th)
Post by: KefkaticFanatic on May 12, 2008, 08:48:06 PM
- Building vehicles is basically like playing with LEGO. You can <i>always</i> jump in and out of the vehicle editor and come right back to the game with the new design.
- Parts are easily placed and moved around. You don't have to worry about connecting the motor with the wheels for example. Just place everything so they stick together and don't get in the way.
- Vehicle designs can play a large role in missions. We saw one where you had to collect coconuts from a field and got a small truck that could suck them up. Unfortunately you couldn't fit all the coconuts in the truck and had to back and deliver them in a large barrel. We were then shown how you could create a helicopter with a hook, that could pick up this large barrel, fly to the coconut field and fly low to scoop the coconuts in the barrel.
- Physics are awesome in this game and everywhere! With one design I placed the foot-in-a-box weapon behind a propella, and when I tried to use it, the foot/boot couldn't get past the propella... well, until I used it enough times to actually kick the propella off the vehicle!
- Pixel art... imagine the possibilities (Rare already had an example of this, paying homage to a certain plumber)
- Multiplayer is great fun with the ability to either chose from pre-fabricated or own vehicle designs. It still needs some polish here and there, but showed great promise.

Whew!  I was salivating over the beautiful new screens and gameplay footage we had today! Also lots of new info!

EDIT:  WOOT

Quote"Microsoft Game Studios (MGS) will also pull back the curtain on another beloved franchise with the triumphant return of Banjo, one of Rare’s most successful characters, in “Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.”  Defying the laws of nature, a bear, a bird and a backpack team up to embark on another incredible adventure this November.
MGS is breaking the rules of traditional platformer games by putting the power to invent new abilities for Banjo directly into the players’ hands.  By using their ingenuity to build imaginative vehicles that can be combined with infinite variations, gamers help Banjo successfully complete missions through multiple terrains.
Through exploration, discovering hidden secrets and solving puzzles to win rewards, players will continually find increasing ways to customize and improve their contraptions, creating an unprecedented level of user-generated content and emergent play for a 3-D adventure game."

http://www.rareware.com/games/banjonuts&bolts/castlist.html

Cast list with info ^^^

QuoteIt's been a long time coming, but Banjo and Kazooie are back in action - and so, to their exasperation, is dedicated arch-foe Gruntilda. The stakes have been raised, and Grunty's out to redevelop Spiral Mountain into tower blocks and shopping malls. Banjo and Kazooie's future is on the line!

Tired of the feuding between bear, bird and witch, a new player has stepped in: the mysterious Lord of Games (LOG), said to have been involved in creating every videogame ever released. He whisks the rivals away to his creative HQ in Showdown Town, and into an elaborate series of challenges held within his hand-made worlds. The winner gets the ownership deeds to Spiral Mountain, the loser an eternity of toil in LOG's videogame factory. The game is on!

However, things are a bit different this time around. The core gameplay mechanic - and the method by which worlds are traversed, challenges tackled and progress made - is the creation and customisation of vehicles, using components found, bought and won throughout Showdown Town. From wheels and weapons to springs and wings, all of which can be combined in any number and style, there's a staggering level of experimentation and personalisation for those willing to dabble. If you can imagine it, you can probably build it. But any adventurer with less confidence, experience or time on their hands can still jump in and take on the game with a pre-built range of vehicles. The Lord of Games might be heavy-handed, but he's big on equal opportunities.

However, it's not all change in Banjo-Kazooie country, as Banjo will still compete for Jiggies to unlock new destinations and hoard the musical notes that serve as legal tender. Familiar figures on hand to help include everyone's favourite shaman down at Mumbo's Motors and newly appointed tourist information officer Bottles; new faces on the block include porcine police chief Pikelet and overly competitive braggart Trophy Thomas. Outside Showdown Town you might just meet them all again, persuaded by LOG to turn thespian and act out hilarious themed roles in different worlds. You'll also have to take on Grunty's shiny army of mechanical Gruntbots, riding roughshod over Banjo's efforts to save the day.

For the first time in the Banjo universe there's also the opportunity to go online with players across your own world. Combine this with the riveting new solo adventure, and it looks like 2008 really will be the Year of the Bear. You might want to book a seat. When the comedy rattles and clanks die down, the garage door rolls up and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts finally purrs into view, you'll be glad you did

WHOA! CHECK THIS OUT!

"After reading the big interview with Gregg, it appears that there was some new information regarding levels and such.

It appears that each level [six of them], will have 6 entry ways a piece! He went on to say that Act I of Nutty Acres might only include a single Jiggy, while Act III of Nutty Acres may have six jiggies! He also made a mention that in Act I, you may see objectives to complete in Act IV or V of the same world!

Overall, this reminds me a lot of Click Clock Wood from Banjo-Kazooie. Remember how you couldn't enter the Summer, until you had hit the switch in the Spring? The same principle remains here; you must collect a certain number of jiggies in Act I before going on to Act II. Pretty cool. Perhaps you would see a Jiggy waiting to be collected in Act II, but you have to do something in Act III before you can collect it...awesome.

Finally, I've begun to look at this game different than before. You see, remember how CCW was more like 4 levels-in-1? Well, I'm going to look at BK:N&B the same way. Except this time: 6 levels become 36!"

This game is a one-of-a-kind!

[EDIT] I started to arrange the small part of Nutty Acres that you hear in the gameplay footage... here it is:

Perhaps you would see a Jiggy waiting to be collected in Act II, but you have to do something in Act III before you can collect it...awesome.

Finally, I've begun to look at this game different than before. You see, remember how CCW was more like 4 levels-in-1? Well, I'm going to look at BK:N&B the same way. Except this time: 6 levels become 36!"

This game is a one-of-a-kind!

[EDIT] I started to arrange the small part of Nutty Acres that you hear in the gameplay footage... here it is:
http://www.mediafire.com/?byrbytymtuc

Yaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy- the game is gonna be UH-MAZING
(and by the way, your nutty acres song sounds pretty good so far)

You guys should check out the interview they posted up on www.rarewitchproject.com

Tons of info and stuff about multiplayer too.  There will be online and offline, including co-op.  Also, 80% of the game will be on vehicles.

I'm playing the first two games in anticipation of Nuts & Bolts. What are your guy's favorite worlds?

Oh, and I was just thinking about it. The first game has a lot of musical stuff. Like the notes, Banjo, Kazooie, and Tooty's names as well as the opening with all the instruments, etc. Banjo should be our mascot!

QuoteRare Elite: You mentioned that music notes are a way to pay, could you make it more special, if the music notes are clearly music themed. As we’ve seen in Banjo-Kazooie, both the bear and bird can play music. Why not make some music in the shop and for every music note you collect, Banjo and Kazooie play better music. And if you play good music , you can earn better products from the salesman. Normal paying seems so dull
Gregg Mayles: The musical notes have always been an oddity, in that they aren't really musical at all. None of the previous Banjo games have ever used musical notes for a musical theme. But at least in this game they are actually used for a larger role. There is many things that the player can buy around Showdown Town with the notes

Meh.

So Klungo has been verified to be in it. He's built some "play emporium," whatever that is. But I was thinking he might be working for LOG because at the end of the last game he said he was going to go off to make "Ssstupid gamess." What do ya all think? It'd be really funny if he was LOG. But he couldn't be because he's too incompetent. I wonder how someone so stupid made magic potions? The instructions must have been very specific.

Oh, yeah. Since I'm playing Banjo-Kazooie again, I'm seeing things I never noticed. In the beginning of the game in Spiral Mountain, Kazooie calls Bottles "Jamjars." Rare said Jamjars won't be in Nuts & Bolts. :(  Also, they call the Jiggys Jiggys a few times. I always thought that Jiggy was a name invented in Tooie, but the first Jiggy you get says "I'm a Jiggy!" and on the back of the Nintendo Power strategy guide they call it a Jiggy.

Heh jiggy was always around :P

I did see that Jamjars reference years ago when I had both games for the N64 :P

They probably didn't make the actual next character yet, but may have made the new one from that or from some other thing.

Yeah, Halo isn't the best on repetitive 2 player matches.  Go get Lost Planet on the 27th when they release the $30 and I'll own you at it.  Also get xbox live right now if you haven't already and post your gamertag.  You should probably also get Kameo (because I know you'd like it as much as I do :D), Lost Odyssey cause its awesome, Overlord because its basically Pikmin x awesome, and the Orange Box because it's godly.

PS. How do u set-up Xbox live? is it on the console, or do u have to buy it? I have the headset thing...lol. I'm not used to xbox 360, it's all new to me. ???

You can set up a silver account right from the console, there should be "join live" advertisements everywhere.  You just have to follow all the directions and stuff.

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/connecttolive/xbox360/livesetup/join.htm

Also that.

Halo 3 should have come with a 2 day Xbox live card, so you can use that if you want to play something online or something.

Is there anything else for the 360 besides shooters? I'm not the biggest fan of shooters, they end up boring me after a while  (yes i know thats the 360's built-in crowd. but is there any sort of platformers or anything besides shooters for 360?::) )
Kameo looks good; Overlord looks good as well...

You probably should download the demos for those when you get the marketplace, and you can go find some awesome games on the arcade.  I'd suggest Geometry Wars cause its something every 360 owner has by now, Castlevania SOTN, Aegis Wing (free!), Ikaruga (HARD!), and something that I forget thats really awesome but yeah.  As for non-shooter games, I already listed a ton of them, and there are plenty more I've either not listed or not played.  However, Half Life, Team Fortress 2, Portal, and Bioshock are too awesome to ignore.  Especially Portal.

Just go and add me on Xbox live (gamer4251) and you can look at my played games for more ideas :P

Uhh... Don't you look up games online before you buy them? Or at least look at the back of the box.

While playing Banjo-Kazooie I talked to Brentilda near the Bubblegloop Swamp entrance and she said Grunty does a scary striptease! Ewwwwww.... Ewwwwwww..... Ewwwwwww........ Nasty! And to think they put that in an E rated game!

M. Bates (Masturbates)
D. Jones (Davy Jones)

This is stupid. If Rare knew what they were doing they would have made a seperate game for this new concept of designing and technological interfaces, and then a traditional, original, Banjo & Kazooie. A lot of people are pissed at how Rare just completely killed the old tradition of the franchise. This music better be extremely good, or else.

The first ? space looks like it might be the Lord of Games, the 2nd one looks like a Minjo or something, 3rd looks like the Jinjo King, 4th and last like some sort of porcupine or something.  Boggy's kids are in there as well, and you can see the new Klungo.  Theres also Mr. Fit, Mr. Patch, and that Hippo I forget the name of (the pirate one).  Of course you can also see a bunch of the confirmed characters, but I don't have time to specifically list every one.  Squinting really hard will let you see a very very faint silouette of the "?" characters, and the last one has a little nose and eye :D.  Feel free to post this on RWP as long as you include my post and my name :P  Maybe you can also mention that I got in scribes :P

My almost-completely-random guesses(or not. whatever)

? 1: Gobi Pyramid
? 2:Random color Jinjo (black,or another color?)
? 3: Jinjo King
? 4: No idea.  :'(
?4 looks very similar to Mumbo. (Is Mumbo's full name Mumbo Jumbo, or just Mumbo?)
THEY DON'T HAVE CHEATO.
Looking closer, the ?1 doesn't look like Gobi Pyramid.  :'(

No, it's called completely ruining the originality of a franchise to try and upgrade to what they think will interest newer generations, which, as I said before, has pissed a lot(apparently not many of you guys though) of people off. I don't know. Making two seperate games, one for this concept and an original Banjo & Kazooie would have been far more successful.

What are you, five years old? It's stupid to say Rare should make two games in one genre at once, and then release them at once. That wouldn't get them any money. If they did make a new traditional game, although that's probably not going to happen - they would release it at least a year later. There is still a lot of platforming in this one, and it's all platforming - just in vehicles. So there's not much of a change. The just vehicles allow for more customizability.

Never did I infer that they should release it at once. If you read the information on it, it is not platformer like the past games. Also, if they created a new game for this technological building imagination concept, and then created a traditional Banjo & Kazooie game, then they'd be very successfull, it's obvious that they'd have to market it at strategic times. Stop being presumptious.

If I was senselessy bashing on Rare and responding without any sort of legitimate reason to him for attacking my point, then I'd be trolling. I'm entitled to my opinion about how Rare manages their games, it doesn't make me a dick if I disagree with the majority of you. I'm not flaming anyone, I'm providing a legitimate opinion on this with reason.

I hope you have a good definition of "troll". (Don't make me google it)

And as I've read, "dick" would not apply either on this situation.

But I'd agree with the whining one. Even my brother thought it was a terrible idea of Lego Racer renamed to Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts. But what do I say? That I'm not going to complain until I HAVE PLAYED IT. It looks fine already (At least better than Kingdom Hearts' Gummi Ships), and I've read that the areas are 16 times bigger than in Banjo-Tooie, even if only about 20% of the game is real platforming action.

But think about it. Even if in rate it has less platforming action, 20% of something 16 times bigger is even more platforming than Banjo-Tooie itself as a whole (10% of something 10 times bigger would be the same).

So far, I have not liked the plot. Why can't Banjo just beat the crap out of Gruntilda if he wants that mountain so badly anyways? He've done it 3 times already (Counting Grunty's Revenge)

Then, how's talking and defending points of view of BK N&B in a BK N&B irrelevant or off-topic?

And about the music, I heard it's having it's traditional composers, so I think we can expect wonders from them.

And names usually change over the course of a games development.

Notice the word "Racer" in LEGO Racer. Guess what Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts isn't. Give up? It's not a racer. I don't get you guys. You say you want "traditional platforming." So what do you define as traditional platforming? Platforming as an animal (which includes humans). This game is platforming, just instead of learning pre-defined moves, you make your own moves using the objects to make whatever you want. It's still platforming, and there's still some out-of-vehicle platforming. So stop with this! It's over! New discussion. Like... how different Humba Wumba looks. Mumbo's redesign seems the most similar to how he used to look out of all of them, and Humba Wumba seems the most different. I like how they made her.

Sorry. Lemme rephrase that.
Even my brother thought it was a terrible idea of "Lego Racer renamed to Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts."

There. Now, we see that's sarcasm, and that he's upset of BK giving too much focus on the creation of vehicles.

And, as I've said, I could not care less. If I want a "traditional" platforming, I'll go take the dust out of my Super Mario Bros. This is the 360, I expect something new. I dislike it when games change completely. And this one hasn't. It's just changing some aspects. But, as I've said before, it still has chances of having more "traditional platforming" content than Banjo-Tooie itself, because of it's new capabilities.

Let's face it. N64's biggest cartridges were up to 60 Megs or so. These are DOUBLE LAYERED disks. And even a CD-R has a 700-megas capacity. So, yeah...

It's still not trolling though, gamer. If I'm defending a point(even if it's outrageous and negative towards the discussion, but relevant to discussion), then it's not trolling.

If I were to say "OMG Microsoft sucks guys no way am I getting this." Then I'd be trolling because that has nothing to do with this topic, or very little at least.

I'm merely saying that I think a technological game could be part of a new franchise(why not? it'd be another franchise that would be successful because of this new idea), and a separate traditional Banjo & Kazooie game. Just because I said that this game isn't exactly what I expected and I find Rare's new turn with it stupid, doesn't make me a troll, so grow the hell up. I didn't even fit into that definition with that post. Or this. End it here.

Anyways, Wumba and Mumbo Jumbo look like hillbillies, Bottles is the only one who looks normal, and Grunty is laughable.

Quote from: Nakah on May 20, 2008, 03:42:53 PMThis is stupid. If Rare knew what they were doing they would have made a seperate game for this new concept of designing and technological interfaces, and then a traditional, original, Banjo & Kazooie. A lot of people are pissed at how Rare just completely killed the old tradition of the franchise. This music better be extremely good, or else.

Yep.  Not trolling at all.

Every single banjo game gets negative feedback BEFORE it's released, and then turns out to be awesome! Here are some of the past comments:

Banjo-Kazooie (1997)
"A bear and a bird? in an adventure? How retarded is that? This'll probably be Rare's Biggest failure!"

Banjo-Tooie (2000)
"FPS in a BANJO GAME? THIS JUST FUCKED UP THE SERIES!"

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts (2008)
"VEHICLES!? WAY TO GO RARE, YOU JUST FUCKED UP MY FAVORITE SERIES! DIE RARE"

See the resemblance? THIS GAME WILL BE AWESOME JUST LIKE THE OTHERS! Rare KNOWS what they're doing!

I can finally get the games i always wanted to try! Halo 3, Mass Effect, Fable 2, BK3 and a load more! (Brutal Legend anybody?lol)

There's jack-all coming out for Wii (that im excited for) except for Brawl (which still isnt released in Aust. yet! But will be in 17 more days :) )

Hey i got nothing against any of the new consoles.

Wii, bought it cos i like zelda and mario games
360, getting it this w/e cos its got a lotta games i wanna try out
PS3, nothing really interesting in their library apart from Uncharted and Ratchet but its also too expensive for me too
PC, Playing the Orange Box everyday!

Dont get me wrong i got friends who r complete fanboys (one is nintendo, one is sony lol arguments happen all the time) Then u got my PC gamer friends and the 360 is the all-rounder so nobody has anything against it (cept for my nin fanboy friend who thinks its gonna die straight outta the box)

Yeah, Brawl is boring because after all the playing of the first two, it's just more of the same. Although the builder keeps it going longer. I didn't even get Brawl, I just played it at my friend's. In fact, I haven't gotten anything for Wii besides Zelda, which I didn't play much of. Damn Nintendo and their incredible ability to create hype and make me sit out in the rain on launch day. Ahh the memories.

Just to stay on topic, yay, Banjo! It's one of the most awesome things to ever happen ever! Yay!

If spiral mountains there then so must be banjos house. Lemme look at that painting of bottles again!...then do all the jiggy puzzles....then get cheats to be written in the sandcastle of Treasure Trove Cove (they could slot that in banjoland).

Stuff id like to see return in Banjoland (just for fun)

Mad Monster Mansion (confirmed i believe)
Treasure Trove Cove (sandcastle at least)
Witchyworld (big top tent would be cool)
Click Clock Wood (maybe...)
Gobi Valley (? that what its called? been a while since ive played it)
Freezeazy Peak (awesome level, especially the music)
The Fire and ice stage of BT (cant remember name...there should have been a transformation for the fire side...snowball was cool but id have liked a fire demon)

theres probably more... just not certain about it

Stuff i DONT wanna see

Clankers Cavern...(hated that level soooooo much)
Rusty Bucket Bay (hardest level of BK imo, also very frustrating)
The first level of BT (the one with the totem boss..mayan something??)
Jolly Rogers Lagoon...(its...ok...but im not fond of water themed levels in platformers. BK N&B might change that with building planes and subs and boats)

Stuff id like to see but probably wont be included

Bubblegloop Swamp
Mumbos Mountain
The dino one from BT
Glitter Gultch Mine
Cloud Cuckooland (although it did get pretty old pretty fast...also button mashing to beat that damn canary leads to cramped fingers)

cameos id like to see....
Kameo (lol...probably will happen, although ive yet to play it)
Grabbed by the Ghoulies (had scary banjo and kazooie faces hung on the walls)
Conker (great mighty poo lol)

I think the new BK will be really much fun. It looks like really much fun to play it, but I#m worried that Rare might mess up the good old Banjo-Kazooie-feeling. I'm optimistic about the gameplay nad hope the charakters will be as much fun as allways. Hope the 20% platform will be 20% we' ll notice.

I must admit in this place that Rare seems to be a lot better than nintendo in case of explainingor promoting new features. While Rare gave us the 80/20 Balance before the game was even out, Nintendo used to hype little features, wich were so little in the actual game. for example: Epona in Twilight princess. seriously how many times did you HAD to use epona in the actual story line? like 4 times - traveling? They said there would be bossbattles on epona. there were just two, if you count the battle with that.. erm.. ogre guy (forgot his name)

have a nice day

Stuff id like to see return in Banjoland (just for fun)

Mad Monster Mansion (confirmed i believe)
Treasure Trove Cove (sandcastle at least)
Witchyworld (big top tent would be cool)
Click Clock Wood (maybe...)
Gobi Valley (? that what its called? been a while since ive played it)
Freezeazy Peak (awesome level, especially the music)
The Fire and ice stage of BT (cant remember name...there should have been a transformation for the fire side...snowball was cool but id have liked a fire demon)

theres probably more... just not certain about it

Stuff i DONT wanna see

Clankers Cavern...(hated that level soooooo much)
Rusty Bucket Bay (hardest level of BK imo, also very frustrating)
The first level of BT (the one with the totem boss..mayan something??)
Jolly Rogers Lagoon...(its...ok...but im not fond of water themed levels in platformers. BK N&B might change that with building planes and subs and boats)

Stuff id like to see but probably wont be included

Bubblegloop Swamp
Mumbos Mountain
The dino one from BT
Glitter Gultch Mine
Cloud Cuckooland (although it did get pretty old pretty fast...also button mashing to beat that damn canary leads to cramped fingers)

cameos id like to see....
Kameo (lol...probably will happen, although ive yet to play it)
Grabbed by the Ghoulies (had scary banjo and kazooie faces hung on the walls)
Conker (great mighty poo lol)

These are all in Banjoland:
The dino one from BT (i think)
Glitter Gultch Mine
Cloud Cuckooland
Mad Monster Mansion
Treasure Trove Cove
Witchyworld
Click Clock Wood
Gobi Valley
Freezeazy Peak (the music for this level is orchestrated in Banjoland ;))

Theres a small part of mumbo's mountain in world of sport.

B-K Pianist, nice sig. The box art looks awesome! One thing that would be awesome would be if they put in as an Easter egg the transformation into the washer. They had it in both of the other games, and it would feel kinda empty without it...

Well kazooie at least has a spin move...

hayere are some more pics.

nooo grunty's lair is walled off.

Banjo land is awesome, I love how they just used the original soundtracks and put them all together.

don't forget that we see either LoG or some LoG disciple!

ALSO LISTEN AT THE END OF THE SHOWDOWN TOWN VIDEO WHILE HE'S ON THE CRANE THE GUY TALKS ABOUT TWISTING THE CONTROLLER WHICH EITHER MEANS SOME THING IN THE GAME OR A MOTION CONTROLLER.

QuoteThough we got to play through the entire E3 demo early, we've been promised that's not all that Rare and MS have in store for Banjo for this upcoming expo. Stay tuned to IGN for the latest.

Yeah- that spin move is pretty cool. And we can build a vehicle to blast away the wall on Grunty's lair, Remember?
Banjoland was such a treat to hear, especially orchestrated! And i think log was the screen in the purple robe.
Did u notice grunty standing off to the side in showdown town?

Also, Rare already said there is not going to be a motion controller.

No it's not the fact that it's not identical to the old ones, it's how it's now been transformed into this new technological bullshit that the entire world is already doing and now this isn't as original as it used to be, at all. Every time I see a screenshot, video, or the title itself, it's like one hundred thousand stabs from a knife. I think this marks an end to the old franchise that we once knew. This is an entirely different Banjo & Kazooie.

Everyone in 1 way or another is resistant 2 change.

If change didnt happen, gaming today would still be 2D side-scrolling. I bet back in the day before Mario 64 came out the same things were being said ("Mario's franchise will end cos his 3D game will suck"). But all it did was mark a new beginning for the Mario franchise.

Same thing applies here, there is bound to be ideas shown in the new banjo game which will re-invent the franchise for the better.

honestly acropol- you can make your final decision when you play it, a couple of screenshots don't really say much. There's six giant worlds, and we've only seen bits and pieces of 3 of em', and the only details we really have about vehicles are that we have over 1000 pieces to mess and they use Havok Physics. You can't base your opinion on just that alone.

I'm sure the game will have certain things that are great, I wonder where the franchise would go from here though. It can't go backwards or anything, same for the Wii, what will Nintendo upgrade their next console to now?

banjo-kazooie website updated (install silverlight 2 beta)

We now have the world list:

Nutty Acres
World of Sport
Banjoland
Level with inflatable sheep and Polysterene buildings (CCL-esque)
CPU-themed world, which has been designed to be approached vertically rather than horizontally like most platformers.
Terrarium, a space-level built of interconnected tubes and chambers

Spiral Mountain
Showdown Town
Klugo's Arcade

I'll be adding new pics soon

In no way do I take it personally. And in no way am I trying to defend BK. I don't defend games. Only fanboys do. I'm merely saying that you coming in here and saying "WTF? what's with the crappy vehicles" shows that you aren't familiar with the new game, and should watch a few videos so that you understand. Also, I was just joking about the stabbing thing!  ;) The vehicles do not change the gameplay as much as it appears at first. When I first saw the first screenshots, I thought it would be terrible. But then when they released videos, it made a whole ton of sense to me. That video B-K Pianist posted "Old and New" is a really good video to explain it all.

oh- hehe- your right:

"There have even been whispers of extra exclusive material coming this way in the weeks ahead, though I might have to edit this page and engage in plausible deniability should any such material fail to appear.

One other item that possibly caught your attention is the announcement of the original Banjo-Kazooie coming to Xbox Live Arcade, something that you sassy punters have been demanding on a regular basis for some time now. Quick info dump: it's being handled by 4J Studios up in Dundee, and will be brought to you in 1080p hi-def glory with all the expected XBLA accoutrements such as built-in Achievements and Leaderboards. It'll even include yet another iteration (hopefully a successful one this time) of the fabled Stop 'n' Swap system, now intended to unlock stuff in Nuts & Bolts."

Straight from http://www.rareware.com

The First bold section... perhaps we will get an mp3? Lets hope we can hear one of grant's last masterpieces

The Second bold section... perhaps we can get moves from B-K and swap em' into Nuts and Bolts! Makes sense!

ive seen all the vids of gameplay and the like....i dont think we r gonna get any moves because those maps are HUGE! Have another look at banjo walking iaround by hmself. The camera is zoomed far back (due to the much larger vehicles) and banjo looks puny. I dont know why we would get our moves back because they have next to no use.

I have no idea what the stop n swop will do in BKNB probably just unlock blueprints or something? But i dont reckon we will get our beloved moves back.

Wii getting them would make even less sense. Also, I doubt they took away the N64 logo on the introduction of Banjo-Kazooie, so they might be able to get it, although it's most unlikely for 2 reasons.

1.- They no longer do stuff related to Donkey Kong
2.- Donkey Kong is not of their property

You can merge them to say that they no longer to stuff related to Donkey Kong because it's not their property. It was probably a lend of rights or such things that lead to the creation of Link and the Faces of Evil, Zelda and the Wand of Gamelon and Hotel Mario.

I'm so confused...

Tiptup was confirmed to be in this game. I forgot his role (It's minor), but if he is in this Microsoft game, then why the hell is he in Diddy Kong Racing DS? Does Nintendo still have some rights to him or what?

If you're wondering who Tiptup is, he is the turtle from Diddy Kong Racing. He also made a small appearence in Banjo Tooie, I think.

i know all the characters in b-k and b-t (well except for some of the baddies >.<)

Well, i know Rare still has a very good relationship with nintendo. That's why they have all of those cameo's in various parts of nuts and bolts. But in the first game, Tip-Tup was a music teacher. In the second one, his eggs wouldn't hatch, and kazooie had to hatch em'.

Post by: iDOWN on July 21, 2008, 07:40:39 PM
So, I'm guessing Tiptup still belongs to Nintendo?

The reason I'm asking is because I have this crazy dream of working on a story board of what was supposed to be Timber 64 and giving it to Nintendo (Which will probably never happen. xD). Tiptup was one of my main people. 8P

I'm psyched to see him in Nut and Bolts. It just worried me at first. xD

I never really praised the BK series... Microsoft is going to completely ruin the franchise.

And Super Mario 64 and Galaxy were great games. Way better than BK. But that's just my opinion.

The reason I said that is because I don't see Banjo's face anywhere. Mario, on the other hand is Mr. Video Game.

What makes you think Microsoft will ruin the franchise? I never liked Super Mario 64. I guess that's because I played the Banjo games before Super Mario 64, and they have better game mechanics (Mario 64 never felt like it controlled well to me), so playing Super Mario 64 afterward, my view was that the game play wasn't as good as Banjo. Plus, they always threw you out of a level every time you got a star, and the challenges weren't very fun. I do like Super Mario Galaxy though.

Also, you guys should check out the screenshots and videos at http://www.rarewarecentral.com/ (http://www.rarewarecentral.com/).

Mario has been milked way too much. How is SM64 better than B-K? B-K had better graphics, better music, and better characters. I liked SM64, but B-K was much more colorfull and it has a special that special charm that Mario lacks.

Graphics

Then:
Vs.

Now:
Vs.

Graphically, You make the decision. I personally think banjo wins this one.

Story-line

Mario has the same story every time! "Mario visit's the princess, but OH NO! SOMEONE HAS STOLEN THE PRINCESS! Who could it be? OH NO, BOWSER! Where have i heard that befoe?". Banjo constantly has a new story-line.
That's two for banjo.

Music
Well, Mario 64 has around 7 different tunes, used throughout different levels. Each one of banjo's levels, has a unique, catchy and different tune, along with interiors, underwater, and other places (Mumbo's Hut, Nabnuts House, etc.). Banjo has over 40 tunes within the first game alone. Now, i can't compare the new music to mario galaxy (cuz we haven't heard any), but Kirkhope always makes amazing music, so i'm sure it'll be better. Compare these two vids:
Final Bowser Battle (SM64) (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=NC0M6rPk5uc&feature=related)
Vs.
Final Gruntilda Battle (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=_jH2n09OMbg)

I think they're both great musically, but epically? Banjo Wins yet again!

Popularity
Yes, Mario wins this one (at the moment), but... the Mario Franchise has been Milked waaaay too much. All these stupid spin-offs, sick of it...
And Banjo may become the mario of xbox so to speak, Check this article out:
Banjo is the Next Mascot for the 360 Article (http://mundorare.com/news/2008/07/its-a-me-banjo/)

And remeber this: "Banjo was the only game at E3 that threatens mario's throne". I think we'll be seeing much more of banjo after this game's release ;)

Do I need to say more?

I agree with you. Mario 64 was extremely funny and it represents much for me and my childhood. But its music is really worse than Banjo kazooie, I personally think that Mario 64 final battle theme is better in all the aspects than BK final theme. I think what makes BK better tahn M64 is that its graphics and world size and details defy the Nintendo 64 limits, it really seems you're playing a GC game look:

Now see some banjo screens

Banjo wins here. And the Popularity is worse because Mario is a 22 years old franchise and have new games every year... We can't compare this. Anyway, 3D Marios and Banjo are really same games, but Mario is epical and linear, banjo is funny and REALLY HUGE.
Title: Re: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts (Good News and Sad News)
Post by: B-Kpianist on July 23, 2008, 03:18:52 PM
plus, banjo doesn't have the same story OVER and OVER and OVER  again. It constantly changes:

Banjo-Kazooie (1998)
The evil witch gruntilda has kidnapped banjo's sister, Tooty, to steal her beauty.

Banjo-Tooie (2000)
Gruntilda's Sister's Come to Spiral Mountain to Bring back there sister Grunty, from under the giant rock. She returns, a bony old hag, and uses a machine to suck the life out of different characters in order to re-gain her body

Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge
This story takes place between the time of banjo-kazooie and banjo-tooie. Grunty uses a spell to bring her soul from under the rock into a mechanical body that Klungo has built. She then kidnaps Kazooie and goes back to the past to change the future of banjo and kazooie.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts

Now Mario's Story-line (Starting from SM64)

Super Mario 64
Bowser has locked princess peach and friends inside of the castle walls. Go through the levels in paintings and save the princess!

Super Mario Sunshine
Mario and Peach head out on vacation to delfino isles, but the mysterious shadow mario has stolen princess peach and poluted the island. Come to find out it's baby bowser and bowser. Go through the levels, clean the island, and save the princess!

Super Mario Galaxy
Bowser is causing trouble in the mushroom kingdom, he now has a plan to take over the galaxy, and has kidnapped the princess yet again. Travel the galaxy and save the princess!

SAME OLD STORY 1000x over! ITS BEEN THE SAME SINCE THE ARCADE GAME "DONKEY KONG"!

Okay, I'm sorry for having an opinion, sheesh. I didn't ask for an essay trying to prove me wrong.

First of all, do Graphics matter? Compare Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3 to Banjo Kazooie and Tooie. Honestly, I had more fun with The Super Marios. Also, in my opinion, the variety of music in the Banjo games are good, but they aren't memorable seeing as there are so many. The only song I remember from Banjo Kazooie is the opening, but I can probably sing every song from Super Mario 64.

I honestly think Microsoft could ruin the franchise because of the 80% in vehicles. What the hell? That's not the Banjo Kazooie I remember. What happened to the egg-spitting Kazooie? Now that was classic. And look at Mumbo Jumbo... He looks like a red neck. Please...

Don't get me wrong, Banjo Kazooie and Tooie are freaking awesome, but I have more respect for Mario. I grew up with him my whole life. :/

EDIT: And Banjo is 11 years old. Has everyone forgotten about Diddy Kong Racing or something?

It's not just graphics, it's every aspect of the game. The overall gameplay in every game INCLUDING Nuts and Bolts. Every aspect of B-K's game play surpasses any mario game. If your saying that the vehicles are not banjo, think again (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=AtkzVJ7LTWk). And if you think banjo's songs are not memorable, you must have a BAAAAAD memory. You cannot tell me that you don't remember this (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=zTztR_y9iHc) song. Mario will NEVER match up to banjo (imho). I bet once nuts and bolts releases, we'll see mario creating custom vehicles and ripping off banjo...

Well, then they should rename the game Banjo Nuts and Bolts, seeing as Kazooie was replaced by a buttload of vehicles.

Actually, no, I didn't remember that song until I listened to it. See, I recognise the song, I just don't remember it. I'll probably forget it by tomorrow.

The day Mario starts ripping off of Banjo will be the day I'll appriciate Banjo more.

It's nearly impossible to compare Super Mario and Banjo Kazooie, because aside from being platformers, they have very little in common. Super Mario is always levels that require going through challenges(since Super Maro 64, that is). Banjo & Kazooie is like the Super Mario games before Nintendo 64, with story line and questing through levels and worlds. It's not possible to compare.

Everyones entitled to their own opinion. BK Pianist is obviously more fond of Banjo than Mario.

Just like a person whos named "Super Mario Pianist" would be more fond of Mario.

They are both great franchises...its like arguments all over the place(like Halo with every other FPS ever). Cant people just appreciate both?? i mean seriously they are both good games and just because this sites full of Ninty fanboys means that they are gonna be biased against non-ninty games because of their 'fanboyism' religion.

Every console has their own great games that make themselves unique

Nintendo - Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Smash Bros.
Microsoft - Halo, Mass Effect, Fable, Banjo
Sony - Final Fantasy (not their own nomore), Ratchet, LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted
PC - Valve games (just wanted to throw that out there)

As you can see from the consoles that each has their own unique games from their own genres.

Well, it's true that graphics don't really matter, it just shows that they've polished the game more. It really all comes down to the gameplay. And if you were to give a five-year-old who had never played these games before both games, he would definitely like Banjo more. It's just more fun. And I get songs from banjo running through my head all the time, but never mario, although I have played much more mario than banjo. The only reason it's not as memorable is that it's not in as many games as the mario tunes. I don't want to get into an argument, though, I respect your opinion and just wanted to put in my five cents.

Also:
Mario has the same story every time! "Mario visit's the princess, but OH NO! SOMEONE HAS STOLEN THE PRINCESS! Who could it be? OH NO, BOWSER! Where have i heard that before?" XD That's hilarious!

While its true that Mario has the same story...i dont play those games for the story (thats for Mass Effect, KotOR and Bioshock which all have fantastic and deep stories). I play Mario for the fun, much like i play Banjo for the fun and Halo for the fun not their stories.

Rare always makes me laugh in their stories though which is always a good thing.

On another note: Im playing through Kameo at the moment and so far its ok (no Banjo). I just got Major Ruin and near where u get him are these lobsters in cages that try to snip at you through a little hole in the side. Reminded me of BK and it brought a smile to my face.

One question though, iDOWN: are you a Mac user? Ewww... Nasty. I have an iPod and iTunes, but that's as far as I go. ON TOPIC: I went buy Banjo Kazooie today for the heck of it. (I sold it with my extra N64 along with Banjo Tooie and some other games I had completed already.) Now that I'm older, I actually pay attention to the storyline. Brentilda cracks me up with her lame secrets about Grunty. :P

"My sister washes her hair with motor oil! EWWW!" lol.

I know of two places. The Game Ware in the Mall of Louisiana has it, but I bought the last copy. :P
So not anymore.

Also the Play N Trade in Prairiville, Louisana has both. I'm going get Tooie after I complete the first one. :]

What the hell?  Where did this topic go to in the last few pages.  We all know that Mario games are nowhere near as entertaining comedy-wise as Banjo or Conker (WOO CONKER), and that the 2 are both platformers, so that they CAN be compared directly.

They took all the games too (even the ones we borrowed)
Halo 3
Mass Effect
Kameo (borrowed)
Full Auto (borrowed)

So angry....luckily we can reclaim on insurance.

Well, I didn't really like Conker. But Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi are funny. In the original Paper Mario, when he falls asleep from a boring story and wakes up with a giant snot bubble, that was hilarious! And in Mario & Luigi when the Hammer Bros. talk 1337speak, that was great. I can't think of any jokes in Banjo that were like that. That's probably because it's from England and nobody understands English humor (or should I say humour?).

Also, checking eBay turns up some Banjo-Kazooies for around $10-$15 including shipping (buy it now). Pretty much the same on Amazon. There's a store by me called Game Trader that is my new favorite (or favourite) store because after weeks of searching, I found there a copy of Beyond Good & Evil for GameCube with box and instructions in great condition for $15! They're selling that on amazon for $80!

That sucks Pearcinator. I mourn for your loss. Your saves were on the hdd I assume?

That boxart has given me an OMG FACEGASM!!

I now feel very nerdy. To the point of being obese and acne-covered, sitting in a chair late at night posting on forums using internet jargon. And then I think, ah well, tomorrow I'll be wake boarding. And then all is better, and it makes up for geeking out.

!!!!!!EDIT:!!!!!! Looking back on the thread you made about Banjo possibly being canceled, I see someone's post about how Rare got bad after they left Nintendo. Comments like these make me want to blow my brains out. How the hell does a company become horrible just because they're bought by another company, disregarding the fact that the same people are still at the company and they haven't all had nervous break-downs from having to make games for a different system now? It should come as no surprise that this person's avatar was a picture of DK humping another, male, ape. Also, what ever happened to the talk of one of Microsoft's games being canceled? They said they would cancel one, but I don't remember ever hearing anything about it after that, besides various developers saying it wasn't them.

Lol Conker was one hell of a funny game (i got it on xbox cos i was too young for n64 and parents didnt want me 2 get it). It was better on the xbox, better gfx and the shooting was greatly improved. Downside was the long load times. Unfortunately it wasnt very long as it could b breezed through in about 7 hrs playtime and the lack of collecting stuff didnt give me much incentive to going back through the levels (which is why BK and BT stick out amongst other rare games, the collecting aspect)

That conker stuff is horrible. First it's trying to be funny by using tons of curse words (which can sometimes, if not overdone, make something that's funny hilarious, but doesn't work here), then it uses blowjobs and gay rape as jokes. then some talking gears go on vacation. No. Just no.

QuoteGamer4250: And the N64 one was better.  They censored the xbox one too much.

Ive played both the N64 version of Conker and the Xbox version. They are almost exactly the same apart from graphical enhancements and improvements in the shooting (due to dual-analog sticks) and the melee weapon changed from a frying pan to a baseball bat with nails. The only downside the xbox version had was that the load times were ridiculously long and it had to load for the most basic and smallest of things. Thats the advantage of the cartridges, little to no load times.

The xbox one censored too much??? the N64 game didnt have the sphincter cam did it? (might have but i dont remember it). I remember that the xbox had a sphincter cam for more...precise aiming. In what ways r u saying the xbox version was censored?

The xbox version had its own (mediocre) third-person shooter game to replace the (mediocre) multiplayer from the N64 version.

Back on topic...yay for Banjo Kazooie!

Edit: They censored the sloprano in the xbox version, they blipped out the swear words and 'twat' for some reason (i dont consider that a swear word) still though, i stand by my points that the xbox version remains superior gameplay and graphics wise.

Well ill b getting my 360 back soon (insurance claim) we will end up with $890 AU. We hope we can get back what we lost.

Xbox 360 Pro - $500
Wireless Controller - we will shop 4 best price
Wired Controller - shop 4 best (borrowed from friend)

Games...
Halo 3 - hopefully we can get for $60
Mass Effect - hoping for $60
Kameo - hoping for $25 - $30 (borrowed from friend)
Full Auto - hoping round $20 - $30 (borrowed from friend)
Bioshock - will shop for best price (borrowed from friend)

Hoping that $890 will be enough...parents r out now looking for best prices.

I hate that aussies always get ripped off prices...

back on topic...YAYZ BANJO!

I was ABOUT to say how all your prices were wrong...but then you said you were in Austrailia.

Austrailia gets fucked in the ass when it comes to games.

Also:  The only point in getting the 360 Elite is if you have a fetish for black or are going to be downloading tons and tons of movies and TV shows onto the console.  The Pro now comes with a 60GB HDD and may soon be only $300, so it's probably the best option.

Yeah it makes no sense as to why our prices r so high...

seeing as the Aust. dollar is almost 1:1 with the US dollar.

Actually...i think Aust. has a higher minimum wage than US and so that means we have more to spend which leads to higher prices to make more profit.

The first GBA game wasn't a spinoff, but meh.  I don't have any Elites, both of our consoles are Pro.  We were only thinking about getting the Elite because of the HDMI port, but then they put it on the Pro console so we got one of the Pros with the HDMI.

that game wasn't necessarily bad... I personally think that if it was made for the XBOX instead of GBA, it would've done much better. Banjo doesn't fit well on a hand-held system

I think we can all agree this game would have kicked some serious ass on the Wii, and if they hadnt completely revamped Banjo's look (round is better than square damit)

Microsoft fucked Banjo Kazooie over - and it would be more healthy to accept the truth now than to discover it while playing - this game WILL NOT live up to the reputation of it's older brothers.

These are my first impressions:
- Oh god.. Grunty again.. Talk about outlived-welcome, the storyline is going to be a steaming pile of shit
- A sub-title?? wtf, it limits the theme of the game
- The fact that the back-pack is substantually bigger, supposedly to 'fit' kazooie means that they have probably abandoned some of the much-loved, ridiculus aspects of the design
- Why does Banjo's nose look so rigid?? It's supposed to be floppy
- If this game is going to revolve around tools and gadgets, that alone kills Banjo's core concept and makes the game cliche. They obviously resorted to this because they were lazy and ran out of ideas.
- This game looks like a desperate ploy for Microsoft to appeal to a wider audience - namely fans of the previous B&K games - but I see right through their failed attempt

 It would never look this (http://www.1up.com/media/03/5/4/3/lg/451.JPG?r) good on the wii...
I'm not gonna even bother, you're talking out of your ass, AGAIN, and from the looks of it, you haven't looked into the game except for the appearance and story-line.

Well Jedesyus, since you are a fanboy all of your arguments are invalid. They were fairly weak as well.

The subtitle issue is just stupid.  I personally like the subtitle, you don't have to, but I don't think it has much of an effect on the gameplay does it?

The grunty storyline, I agree may be a little tired, but I'm sure they're doing something and I doubt it will be as bad as  you say.  How many great Mario games had bowser as the main enemy, of course as time went one they've had to switch that.  Banjo is only in its third major game so I think they can still use Grunty, I'm sure there are some twists...I think she is a robot or something right?

uh, the backpack thing...that really doesn't matter at all.  They changed the look of Banjo, he still looks nice.  I do agree his nose is a little worse but that doesn't affect gameplay now does it?

The tools and gadget thing...what do you mean they ran out of ideas?  This is a new idea.

Your last statement is just stupid too.  A desperate ploy?  I don't see anything desperate about it.  A wider audience?  Namely fans of the previous games?  What?  Why wouldn't they want to appeal to the fans of the previous games?

Also, just for fun, fuck you dick.

Thats strangely close to Gamers "My Arrangement" Thread closer...

But, yeah, i've decided upon the Elite when they drop the price (i believe $399) so that means N&B will be MINE! Yeah, dont comment on how i shouldn't get it unless im gonna USE the massive memory, because i WILL, or i would go for the Pro.
Yeah, Banjo is only 3 major storylines along (counting this one) so they HAVEN'T worn out the Gruny plot (unless they try to squeeze in "absolute beauty" or "get my old body back" into the storyline somewhere with this new one. Mario's Bowser storyline is getting stressed (he's starting to use magic, i think its almost worn out) but i can still see possibly 2 more Mario Plots mainly featuring Bowser. Personally, i've enjoyed the alternate main bosses (i.e. Paper Mario). But im not sure who they would ultimately replace Grunty with in the Banjo franchise (unless its the GameMaster or whatever his name is, cant remember), but as far as i can see, Banjo, Kazooie and Grunty is a trio set in stone.
Title: Re: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts (Good News and Sad News)

Banjo to Grunty is just like Mario to Bowser, Link to Ganondorf, Samus to Ridley and a whole bunch of others. I mean if they change the enemy too much then people will get angry, but if they dont change it people will complain about it being too much like the others. Its just common sense to keep the enemy the same (if the game was really fun with that enemy to begin with) than to change the formula and place a different enemy there.

The only game that i can think of that was any good despite the different antagonist was Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask. Even though the end boss was lame and weird it was still really fun to get all those masks.

Im not going to pre-order until i get the Elite, or i just wasted money and the only thin I can do is stare at it should complications arise. Yeah, the Lord of Games could possibly be the next main baddie for Banjo-Fourie (quite possibly the name, never know) depending on how well he is. i mean, what more can Grunty turn into. She's been a witch, and un-dead witch and now a robot...you dont have much more ground to cover.

Well I can see where you're coming from with getting an Elite. I have the standard (20 gigs) and I run out of space all the time from just demos. Also, it won't be called Banjo Fourie. The reason they didn't call it Banjo Threeie was because it's a whole new generation.

Another plus of getting an Elite is the upcoming feature of installing games to your hard drive, so it may be a good idea.   You could always just buy a bigger hard drive though.

What's the purpose of installing to hard drive? Faster loading, I assume.
Title: Re: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts (Good News and Sad News)
Post by: kotorfanboy on August 14, 2008, 02:31:02 PM
I think its for faster loading. I don't know how much of a difference it makes though. I want the extra space in case I want to buy XBLA games and xbox originals, and have plenty of room to store them without worry. I can't buy anything yet cuz then it goes on my brother's xbox, and my 256 mb mem card cant transfer that big a file.
Title: Re: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts (Good News and Sad News)
Post by: KefkaticFanatic on August 14, 2008, 02:54:42 PM
Faster loading is probably the main thing.  You still need the disc to start the game.
Title: Re: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts (Good News and Sad News)
Post by: Gooch on August 14, 2008, 07:06:56 PM
i could buy the bigger drive, but that is typically used by the people who already have a X Box, yet inferior space. Yeah, so, i've totally set my mind on the Elite. Sadly, i wont be able to attain such a machine until i get my 800 dollars as well as the 200 extra dollars for selling one of my "home-grown cattle". I think i can get a whole-lotta X-Box stuff with 1000 dollars. Wow, i've never had that much money at the same time...ever.

Home grown cattle... You sellin' shrooms?  :) If you need the disc to play it anyway, obviously for anti piracy reasons, there doesn't seem to be much of a point. I guess they're just trying to make consoles more like computers.

What u guys got against kotorfanboy?

it looks like your trying to nitpick every little thing that u guys deem wrong about him. like too big of a sig and why hes not allowed to quote the above poster.
Title: Re: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts (Good News and Sad News)
Post by: Gooch on August 16, 2008, 08:07:10 PM
its not that they're picking on him. Sig size is very important as to not waste forum space, so if a large portion of members think it 'tis too big, it shall be smaller or shall be removed. Its also pointless to quote a post above you, and it gets a little aggrivating. So, they're not picking on him, its he's just doing things that people feel is wrong-ish.

So its $40 even if you don't pre-order? Hope its still a good game and they're only lowering the price to try and attract more buyers, not because it is bad. But if you pre-order you get banjo-kazooie free, that's still sweet.

You would be correct! It also sounds like they did a little inversion of the Kickball Stadiums. Sure, it 'twas definately not that song, but it reminded me of it...

:( new video doesn't load.

But they did also drop VP2 to $40 I think, so maybe Rare just wants to be Rare.

The Hailfire Peaks theme in that video moderated the part of it that I like best =\.

another new video:
Klungo's Ssssssuper Ssssecret Race (http://gamersyde.com/stream_8354_en.html)
On Foot Platforming in Banjoland (http://gamersyde.com/stream_8342_en.html)

It's awesome how basically anything can be manipulated in the game! I saw Kazooies 3rd move in the on foot part too! ;D
You know how at the end of your last battle with Klungo in Cauldron Keep, he says "I'm off to make sssstupid video gamessss..."? Apparently, there is a game in the area Klungo's Arcade (http://media.teamxbox.com/games/ss/1575/1216065604.jpg), called "Klungo saves teh world!" Ghouly Boy told us it's a side-scroller, and that Klungo created the levels, graphics and music XD This should be EPIC!  ;D

I really liked the Jiggoseum bgm, it's nothing like Rusty bucket bay or WithyWorld was but it's cool and it has the banjo spirit.

I can't wait to buy the game. Is it true we'll can drive in Spiral Mountain? this would be strange but cool. I'd like that at least half of each stage was made to be played withou cars with the old plataforming elements :-\.

I preordered Banjo at GameStop along with Fallout 3 Collector's Edition for Xbox 360. I forgot to preorder Left4Dead so I have to go back. When you preorder Fallout 3 they give you a game case with a CD soundtrack that looks like a 45 (record, stupid!) and a folded poster. If you preorder at Best Buy you get a Nuka Cola bottle opener, but you can buy one for $5. Left4Dead's box art is different on every freaking website. Weird, huh?

If it is made by valve I doubt it will be bad. They make some great games.

The Xbox version is being developed by Certain Affinity. "Certain Affinity is a development team founded by veteran artists, designers, and engineers from Bungie, Microsoft, Red Storm, Origin, EA and Digital Anvil. The company is based in Austin, Texas, and began operation with a collaboration with Bungie on the creation of content for Halo 2 while it also worked on technology and production development to produce its own unique titles as an independent developer."

On the box art of the game, right under where it says "Live" it says "PAL" in a little white box. On all the covers of my games it says "NTSC" Why is that?

BK posted the European box art of the game, so I guess Europe has PAL and U.S. NTSC

Thats the region.

NTSC is America and Japan.

PAL is Europe, UK and Australia.

Im guessing ur US...

NTSC regions usually get games first. So ur lucky (even though its a pommy company making this game).
