Looks pretty good. You guys pumped? What do you hope to see in it? I personally hope it maintains the mystique of the original and doesn't revert to just general Mario platforming.
SO PUMPED!!!!!
OMG, I cannot express my excitement. Luigi's Mansion was my first Gamecube game, and I love it so much.
Im excited too :D But whats the storyline for this one? Is Luigi really stuipid enough to visit the second mansion he "won" in the middle of nowhere?
No, actually.
This time, I guess There's some item called the "Dark Moon" and somehow, it's split up into pieces and (guess who?) Luigi has to go and find them...kinda vague, could do with some fill-ins, but at least there's a plot direction.
We shall see.
Since when has a Mario game been concerned with plot? The only exceptions are the RPGs and they're not made by Nintendo EAD.
I just wish it was a console title, but at least I'll finally have a reason to get a 3DS now.

That and PMD 3

Well, this is Maestro we're talking about here.
So? I think he might actually like it :D
Bespinben is wise indeed.
It's gonna be great. The first one is so awesome even though it's as some people think a "tech demo".
But it's SO much more than that....

Hrm... Well... :o
Yeah, that wouldn't make much sense. :P
I will definitely buy it. Even though.... I have to admit that I have never played the game for gamecube. Ahhh shame on me^^. But I watched other people playing it and it was amazing. So was the music^^.
I'm definitely getting this! :D
Bumpity-bump.
I don't have it yet, and probably won't for some time, but it seems like plenty of you do, so let's chitchat about it! First off, how's the soundtrack? The original was good. Does Luigi still have as much character as he did in the original?
Spoiler
Even more character. His mannerisms are hilarious and endearing, and he still hums along to the brand-new, criminally catchy soundtrack. One main theme tends to appear throughout, like the first game, but with more diversity than usual. Considering this game was developed by Canadian studio Next Level Games, including a North American composer, the music fits in perfectly with Kazumi Totaka's theme (which is given some remix here as well).
Get it. Just get it.
I will put this in a spoiler, just in case. :P

It is certainly awesome! The only thing I'm disappointed with is that you have to complete missions, and once you're done with one, you're forced to go back with E Gadd. I don't really like that, I loved the first one because Luigi was practically alone in a dark mansion (here E Gadd calls you for everything!) and you were free to go wherever you wanted.
And the most important thing, you had to discover the things for yourself, I mean, in Dark Moon E Gadd tells you almost everything and you perfectly know when you're going to fight a boss. In the first one you didn't. It was more mysterious and scaring that way.
But oh, well. Still far better than the first one in a lot of aspects. I would give it a 9 out of 10, and as Slow said: "Get it. Just get it."
^hmm. No, the puzzles and bosses aren't solved for you. The only difference is that you have to leave and re-enter the mansion a few times. Idk how far you are but the last couple levels in the first mansion and certainly the ones in the second mansion are quite fun and challenging and reminiscent of the original game.
But you can't say there's the same atmosphere of the first one right?
And I never said it wasn't challenging or fun, just said that exactly the forced exit and re-enter to the mansions is what I don't really like. I would have liked it like the first one with that: if you want to go to E Gadd's lab you just go the main entrance and exit by yourself.
But please don't get me wrong! It's a fantastic game! :)
Eh I'd say the atmosphere is a but different, but it's got the same charm as the original. Agreed though.
I beat the game. It was excellent. My time was 13:22. I still have a lot to do for 100% though DX
I started this today. It's amazing!! I love it already! It's fun to play, and yeah, it's different from the original in many ways, but it's a good change. The locations are absolutely astounding and beautiful, and I love the music, too!
We should do a scarescraper thing.
y/y?
I haven't looked at it yet. Is it fun? And is it possible to do it online?
Yes.
While I'm disappointed it's not as serious as the first one, it's still a fun game. It also makes me lol quite a lot.
What puts the cherry on the top for this game is the online play. Especially the fact that the floors are randomly generated. It makes the game interesting every time (well, too a certain extent).
This game is one of the best currently on the 3DS, it's the most fun with a game I've had since Virtue's Last Reward and Professor Layton in November.
I got all the Boos in the first three mansions, but I don't want to go back to the fourth one. I hated that one, and I didn't get any of the Boos so I'll have to replay all of the missions. Aaaugh.
End of Haunted Towers
That staircase was legitimate. I honestly didn't think it was really going to be that long...but it was. And I probably fell down maybe 20 times.
Boss of Haunted Towers
Hungry Hungry Staircase.
That boss was one of the coolest, most innovative bosses I've seen in a while.
Did that boss remind you guys of a Banjo boss battle? I don't know, I think it was the noises he was making or something.
Hey just wanted to let you guys know-- if you'd like to let the developers know how much you appreciated the soundtrack, the audio director's email is chad.york@nextlevelgames.com
Mr. York is a nice fellow and gave me a nice reply when I sent an email about how much I loved the soundtrack, how the compositions were great and how Luigi hums to it occasionally, etc., etc. You can also note stuff like how the main themes were fun, but the ghost themes were quite frightening, which was a great combination of spooky/silly, or that the use of the Super Mario Bros. Theme in scenes with

were clever, or the multiple remixes of the "chaos" theme (heard first in the library piano battle and then remixed for every bonus stage in each mansion) were fun, or other random stuff you liked in particular.
Just yeah if you loved the music, shoot him an email! If you'd like to mention the other composers besides Mr. York, they are Darren Radtke and Mike Peacock. Oh, and be sure to mention you'd definitely buy an official album if one was released! I doubt it, but maybe if they hear it enough times they'll consider releasing one!
^^sounds like a neat idea! :)
I beat the game today! I was thrilled! Although, the final boss just seemed easier than it should have been...as did practically all the boss battles...
I still loved the game, IMO. Incredible.
I thought the staircase boss was very very cool.
Tried a demo the other day. Amazing, but Luigi doesn't sound the same as in the GCN one, which kind of bugs me. The ghosts look way different too.
The game is great, but, like usual, the original was equal to or better.
However, I loved it. I'm definitely going to get this one.
I must say, I think this game was better than the original. It was certainly more rewarding as it was twice as long (no exaggeration). However, some of the levels just felt really repetitive compared to the immense diversity of the original, despite its brevity. It's hard to knock extension of great material, though, and it certainly isn't a bad problem to have.
I beat it like a month ago.
You guys can check out my review here:

Kinda sloppy and there are lots of spelling errors. You've been warned.....
Then I won't read it :P lol
I bought that game a month ago and still didn't find time to play it.... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh
Hey, in case anyone forgot about this game, I found this video on Facebook of an orchestra that performed an arrangement of Haunted Towers, and there are even a couple instances where people play ghosts or Luigi(s)...
I'd give it a watch. It's not a bad performance!
Yeah, Chad York himself shared this link on Facebook, I thought it was neat!
If my high school had done stuff like that for concerts maybe I wouldn't have quit

Didn't seem worth staying in band when I could have done other stuff.
