They came out totally different from how I had expected it, but you still did an awsome job.

Though I wonder, how does it change form, and how does its form change affect the battle (like, does he change type, or do his stats change)?

It changes to Raindrop form whenever there's rain, in or out of battle.

The form itself acts almost like the Water Absorb ability: water-type moves heal it. Outside of battle, it acts like the opposite of poison, meaning that it heals a tiny bit every few steps you walk.

I, personally, use Serebii, because the sprites on Bulbapedia are harder to get off of the page (I use Alt + Prt scrn). :P

And, interesting. :P

I'm not skilled at doing human/trainer + Pokemon sprites... Additionally, because of the different anatomies of both of them, I'm not sure how one would go about that...

If you'll notice, Tyaton has an extra tail; when they evolve, they lose the tail (however, this helps three of them bond together).

I thought there would be much more to work with on Togepi, but there isn't really anything aside from the shell, arms, and legs...
At first, I considered Togepi being the "body," but when I did that, it looked way too cramped.

After batch 2 is completed, I'll work on a new project (put the requests on temporarily hold...): trying to create at least 30 NEW Pokemon, with minimum (probably for all except the Tyaton evolution line and the Eeveelutions) usage of already-existing Pokemon pieces.

Ability: Multitype (gives it a second type)
Signature Moves: Feargrip (Ghost-type physical); works like Bind, except with 60 base power and 100% accuracy.

UNASSIGNED NUMBER
Lilblu, Normal-Flying: Baby form of Swablu

Wormbelle, Bug/(Grass, Ground, Steel): Evolution of Wormadam

Almasil, Ghost: Single-staged, Pac-Man-Ghost-esque.

Piciglori, Grass/Flying: Counterpart to Corvassine; Toucan-esque.

Pincion, Bug/Dark Pokemon
Hexamind, Bug/Dark evolution

Crobuckle, Bug/Rock: evolution of Shuckle.

Betledye, Bug/Dragon
Thoraxun, Bug/Dragon Evo
New Ability: Striker; if this Pokemon's attack hits a Pokemon that just switched in, it does 1.5 times damage.

Backstory for the legendary trio, the "scholar trio": Three ancient scholars learned how to preserve themselves after death in artificial bodies. However, as the years passed in their new bodies, they degraded to unsophisticated semi-Pokemon-like behavior.
In order to capture them, you must go to their respective "tomb" after beating the Elite Four (at which point, you get an orb/tome from the champion), and beat the "phantom" of their human form, which opens the way to their library, where you can catch them.
Jollos was the first to descend into madness, because every plant he planted died shortly after; as a result, he burst a hole in the outer library's roof, turning the area into a maze of hedges (you need Cut and Defog to pass).
Bullion was next: he eventually ran out of books to read, causing him to rip the outer library into a type of twisting cave (you need Strength and Rock Climb).
Tykogi, the leader, was last: without the communication of the other two, he 'lost control', turning the area beneath the library into a vast sink hole, which became flooded (you need Surf and Dive to get through).

New Tyaton sprite; over 80% from scratch.

Tharapick; not very close to my original concept, actually! :P

EDIT: The region is called Nornova, and is somewhat northeast of Unova. It's based off the Delmarva Peninsula.
(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.wikia.com%2Fsnivypedia%2Fimages%2F9%2F9f%2FNornova_Region_2.png&hash=cb02406df54aa8ac6632f3db2e0dc2d9165076be)
If you pay close attention to the locations, you can easily determine what's what on this non-fancy, unlabeled map.
The area from Draco Cave to the end of route 39 is a mountain; Muerto Path and the area north are valleys with mesas.
(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.wikia.com%2Fsnivypedia%2Fimages%2Fc%2Fca%2FNornova_Region_Classic-style.png&hash=91b7c44f3ba23a0e0bdcc8c5042d70703123fb63)
Fancy topographical map, done with the almost-exact color scheme of the Hoenn region; this does not accurately represent the climate zones, however.

The evil team is called Saber, both references to the English word "Saber/Sabre" and the Spanish word "Saber." Their leaders are outcast scientists who, like the ancient scholars, seek to live for eternity, conducting their own corrupt form of "science." Their work, although misguided, has also resulted in the creation of Tyaton (which have migrated to several places across Nornova, and become beneficial to the environment, without driving out other Pokemon).

I did them in the classic badge style, because they'd look bad in either the DPPt badge style, or the BW BW2 badges.
The only ones I'll be redoing are the Sail Badge and the Shadow Badge.
The Planet Badge can be used as a magnifying glass, and the Dragonfire badge can be used to melt certain red ice blocks (as seen in the alternate images).

Gyms of Nornova
Lazuli City Gym: Just a simple maze puzzle, similar to the inside of the Soul Well; only one trainer faces you before the leaders.
Team: Sableye, level 10. Ghastly, level 10. Almasil, level 12. Almasil, level 12.
Badge: Twinghost Badge

Fermento City Gym: The inside of the gym emulates a laboratory; you have to move desks to get to the leader.
Team: Birchomp, level 15. Venonat, level 18. Corvassine, level 20 (way underleveled).
Badge: Poisondrop Badge

Atlantis City Gym: Having an almost beach-like feel, the main challenge of the puzzle revolves around a circular area. You have to rotate four rings of sandblocks to get to the next panel, which, upon further adjustment of the rings, allows you to get further, and so on. The area is filled with fog (obscuring trainers), but you can not yet use HM Defog.
Team: Tyaton, level 22. Vaporeon, level 23. Molodint, level 24.
Badge: Sail Badge

Starlight City Gym: Spinning puzzle, almost like the Viridian Gym. However, many of the areas are dark, meaning that you'll have to make a few "educated guesses" as to where to move next.
Team: Gilidoyn, Level 25. Umbreon, level 26. ?? Bug/Dark evo, level 28.
Badge: Shadow Badge

?? City Gym: You have to bring the gym leader down to you (and then walk up a little staircase with trainers on it), by using cranes above to drop empty vats on buttons; if you choose incorrect combinations, you fight trainers.
Team: Barbrab, level 30. Barbrab, level 30. Steelix, level 32. Tharapick, level 34 (underleveled).
Badge: Hammer Badge

Dellison Town Gym: Another maze, involving pushing rocks using HM Strength to block off certain passageways and open up others.
Team: Onix, level 34. Shuckle, level 38. Magcargo, level 38. Crobuckle, level 40.
Badge: Planet Badge

Ledge Town Gym: The gym is a miniature tower, with several layers; the puzzle is merely that you have to defeat a certain number of trainers on each floor, similar to the Opelucid gym, except some have switches under them.
Team: Swablu, level 42. Draceon, level 42. Altaria, level 45. Triadint, level 46.
Badge: Dragonfire Badge

Top-of-the-Mountain City Gym: The platforms you stand on lean to various sides depending on the obstacles on each side (which you have to move around); if you fall off, you can bounce off the trampoline floor and go to another platform (or bounce back to the one you were on, if you did not order the obstacles correctly).
Team: Hitmonchan, level 48. Hitmonlee, level 48. Hitmontop, level 48. Rambostratus, level 50. Thoxicon, level 52.
Badge: Power Badge

Elite Four
Rose (Grass)
Foreign to the Nornova region, she has quickly risen to become one of the Elite Four; although she is the first member, she is in no way inexperienced.
Team: ?? Grass/Flying evo, level 54. Leafeon, level 58. Wormbelle (Grass), level 58. ?? Grass/Flying evo, level 60. Wormbelle (Grass), level 60.

Jacred (Rock)
Former foreman of Deep Mines, ?? was there before a gym was established. Many of his Pokemon are nearly as old as him, helping him in the mines.
Team: Onix, level 58. Tharapick, level 58. Crobuckle, level 60. Crobuckle, level 60. (will fill in when I decide on more rock-types :() level 62.

Cedric (Dragon)
Hoping to one day become champion and defeat Lance, Cedric is patient, but often spiteful. He returns back to his hometown Ledge Town to train once in a while.
Team: Draceon, level 60. Corvassine, level 60. Triadint, level 62. Triadint, level 62. Altaria, level 64.

Barnum (Psychic)
Former circus member and leader of Mulai Gym; when he left, the gym was shut down, and the town sank into obscurity. Almost like an uncle to Lionel.
Team: Almasil, level 62. Kadabra, level 62. Espeon, level 64. Gilidoyn, level 65. Alakazam, level 66.

Champion Lionel
Acrobat and ringleader of Mulai Circus, he was once a wanderer, travelling to Unova and Sinnoh. His Alakazam was a gift from Barnum.
Team: Ambipom, level 64. Mightyena, level 66. Tympantroad, level 66. Romawh, level 68. (super-effective starter- not chosen; unrelated to the story), level 68. Alakazam, level 70.
(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fvignette4.wikia.nocookie.net%2Fsnivypedia%2Fimages%2Fa%2Fa0%2FNornova_Elite_Four.PNG%2Frevision%2Flatest%3F&hash=e4302f4db22acea71a1eb74f6cb0e5edea3d0ef6)
Barnum: Turned out nearly exactly like how I wanted; the most fun part was totally revamping Chuck's head.

HMs
HM 1: Cut (use granted by Poisondrop Badge)
HM 2: Fly (use granted by Dragonfire Badge)
HM 3: Surf (use granted by Sail Badge)
HM 4: Strength (use granted by Hammer Badge)
HM 5: Defog (use granted by Shadow Badge)
HM 6: Dive (use granted by Power Badge)
HM 7: Rend (use granted by Planet Badge; contains the effects of Flash, Whirlpool, and Rock Smash; in-battle has the effect of Tri-Attack, with 50% chance to inflict status)
HM 8: Rock Climb (use granted by Twinghost Badge)

Never make a Ghost-type gym the first gym. Because usually the attack moves on Pokemon are Tackle, Pound, etc.

Maybe make the Elite 4 Rooms have puzzles as well, except with no trainers.

That's where I got the ideas of Lilblu and Almasil...

And if I don't improve much with my spriting skills, I'll continue the requests soon (a few weeks/months).

Quote from: SocialFox on December 26, 2012, 02:59:44 PMMaybe make the Elite 4 Rooms have puzzles as well, except with no trainers.
Or perhaps slide puzzles between the rooms?

Characters
Blade: Male player character, and rival if opposite gender is chosen.
Petal: Female player character, and rival if opposite gender is chosen.

Depending on which character you choose, the dialogue with several characters, including Barnum and Lionel, is slightly different.

Professor Sakura: Main professor and part of Saber; he gives the player/rival a starter, and later tries to recruit them. Has similar goals and hobbies as Tykogi. After he is defeated, he returns to his lab to start anew in his research.
In "Titanium," he is the leader of Saber, and is fought last (directly before catching Tykogi).

Professor Daniel: Former researcher at the Genetics Lab. When he is first encountered, he gives the player a fossil. Has similar goals and hobbies as Bullion. After he is defeated, he disappears. In an event, he briefly appears when Pulviban threatens Mulai Town.
In "Tan," he is the leader of Saber, and is fought last (directly before catching Bullion).

Doctor H.: A self-certified "plant doctor," he studied plants across the region, and is convinced that he can devise a way to expand the lifespan of humans. Has similar goals and hobbies as Jollos. After he is defeated, he can be seen wandering around the "Safari Zone" underneath the Hermit's Hut, and, when talked to, alerts the player of swarms.
In "Aqua," he is the leader of Saber, and is fought last (directly before catching Jollos).

"Version" Exclusives
Aqua:
  • Almasil and ?? Grass/Flying are more common in grass.
  • After seeing every Pokemon in the Regional Nornova Dex, you can find a Shiny Almasil in the Soul Well.
  • The tomb of Jollos can be accessed after beating the Elite Four; you may exchange "keys," as in BW2, to open the other tombs. However, they do not have a special move.
Tan:
  • Romawh and Birchomp/Corvassine are more common in grass.
  • After seeing every Pokemon in the Regional Nornova Dex, you can find a Shiny Romawh in Hardened Tunnel.
  • The tomb of Bullion can be accessed after beating the Elite Four; you may exchange "keys," as in BW2, to open the other tombs. However, they do not have a special move.
Titanium:
  • Gilidoyn and Tailow/Swellow are more common in grass.
  • After seeing every Pokemon in the Regional Nornova Dex, you can find a Shiny Gilidoyn in the area around Dark Shrine.
  • The tomb of Tykogi can be accessed after beating the Elite Four; you may exchange "keys," as in BW2, to open the other tombs. However, they do not have a special move.

On the far right is the new Jollos sprite, with better hands, legs, and a few more minor adjustments.

(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fvignette4.wikia.nocookie.net%2Fsnivypedia%2Fimages%2F9%2F90%2FGilidoyn.png%2Frevision%2Flatest%3F&hash=7c03b7e46899a7d1bf12cf0bd9d72c9a00af2934)
Gilidoyn (Gil-lee-doih-en), originally an evolution of Almasil, now a Dark-type and part of a trio with it (along with Romawh).

For those looking for a deeper meaning, the Bug/Ghost and Bug/Psychic represent Death and Life, respectively, as the two are almost opposites of each other. The scholars respresent life, and triumph over death; combined with knowledge, they are Psychic type as well. However, their bestial natures represent that a triumph over death cannot truly be a triumph, since it is a price to pay.

Sketch of Gladiolus Town; as you can see, it's just an average starting town: a few houses, a Pokemon lab, lake, trees, fences, etc.

EDIT: The image doesn't seem to be working now?

Ok, I've been overseeing this project as of a few minutes ago, and I have something to say:

It's cool BDS, and I'm glad that you're following our paths of pioneering through the Pokemon world by creating your own region, but there's one thing that is irking me beyond belief.

A long time ago, I posted this on the Alyos thread:
Quote from: Kman96 on December 04, 2012, 06:13:17 PMI found this.
AW HELL NO.
I like the idea of the borders, but there's like NOTHING in Alaska!!! :(
I feel threatened.

and you responded with this:
Quote from: BlackDragonSlayer on December 04, 2012, 06:36:10 PMThe Delmarva Peninsula gets even less. :P

and because of this, I (not knowing what the Delmarva peninsula is) looked up the location and had to ask, Do you know what it is, either?

According to google maps (and basically every other map site I've looked at) This is the Delmarva peninsula:

From what I can see, the peninsula on the pokemon regionalized map of the U.S., there appears to be a city there, which takes up a majority of the space if not all of it. It confuses me, that you would say something like it gets even less than alaska when it is most definitely smaller than it.

Point #2 was posted a while back on this thread, when you position the peninsula, and your new region Nornova to the northeast of Unova...What.
Quote from: BlackDragonSlayer on November 13, 2012, 10:09:40 PMEDIT: The region is called Nornova, and is somewhat northeast of Unova. It's based off the Delmarva Peninsula.

I'm not sure if you purposely placed it oppositely geographically from it's proper location as a way to make your own mark on the pokemon world, because if you meant it to be in it's actual location, the Nornova region would actually be SOUTH WEST of Unova....

Either explain your faux pas or fix your mistake. What you're doing is still cool, I just don't understand your methods.

You're questioning BDS's geographical knowledge. Don't do that. You end up like everyone else. In a debate.

Point #1: It was a joke. Obviously, something that small (in comparison to other locations) isn't going to get a lot of detail on a general map.

Point #2: Look at the map of the Pokemon world in comparison to the map in comparison to the locations they're based on (mostly the ones based off of Japan; I'm using the one from Serebii, but nearly any will do): aside from the Kanto and Johto regions, which are RIGHT next to each other, the other locations (Hoenn and Sinnoh, as well as other regions from side games) aren't exactly near their "proper" real-life locations (if they were like this (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Regions.png), they would be).

Additionally, very few of the areas in the region are based off of actual locations in the Delmarva Peninsula, which was intended.

Quote from: FSM-Reapr on March 11, 2013, 08:11:52 PMYou're questioning BDS's geographical knowledge. Don't do that. You end up like everyone else. In a debate.
He's right that the Delmarva Peninsula is south of the New York area, but that's not what I intended (e.g. it's not due to ignorance, but rather, a chosen decision).

In conclusion, I can assure you that it was not intended to be entirely geographically accurate (just like how I blended bits of Canada and Maine together :P): if I wanted it to be, I probably would have chosen another location like... say... California (though that does pique my interest now)?

D:

Another example would be the Orre region: it's based off of Arizona, but Arizona isn't exactly directly bordering an ocean (there's a strip of land in Mexico seperating it); just a little creative liberty.

I started designing some Mega Evolutions because their sprites are easier to make so I could practice altering existing Pokemon sprites.

Results so far:
Beedrill
(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fvignette1.wikia.nocookie.net%2Fsnivypedia%2Fimages%2F1%2F11%2FMega_Beedrill.png%2Frevision%2Flatest%3Fcb%3D20131120092641&hash=659179bb9e2c80ac93dc4147ea6a9421c34224b6)
Stats before:
HP: 65
Atk: 80
Def: 40
Sp. Atk: 45
Sp. Def: 80
Speed: 75

Stats after:
HP: 65
Atk: 120 (+40)
Def: 60 (+20)
Sp. Atk: 25 (-20)
Sp. Def: 110 (+30)
Speed: 105 (+30)

When fighting against Flying, Fire, or Psychic types, it gets its stats boosted further.

Mega Offense/Support:
Item: Beedrillite
Ability: Berserk
Nature: Adamant/Jolly

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

Moves:
~ Rampage
~ X-Scissor/U-turn
~ Tailwind/Slide-by Slash
~ Swords Dance
[close]

Sandslash
(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fvignette2.wikia.nocookie.net%2Fsnivypedia%2Fimages%2F2%2F20%2FMega_Sandslash.png%2Frevision%2Flatest%3Fcb%3D20141206094016&hash=0c55ff7a5d97e3c35fdb3e6965a2e22073d97fa0)
Stats before:
HP: 75
Atk: 100

Atk: 140 (+40)
Def: 120 (+10)
Sp. Atk: 45 (+0)
Sp. Def: 75 (+20)
Speed: 95 (+30)

Sandslash is now essentially Excadrill, but with new moves to work with, and a slightly higher speed, allowing it to still be usable in weather other than sandstorm.

Mega Sand Rush Sweeper:
Item: Sandslashnite
Ability: Sand Rush
Nature: Adamant/Jolly

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

Moves:
~ Steel Crash
~ Stone Edge/Rock Claw
~ Earthquake
~ Swords Dance/Rapid Spin/X-Scissor
[close]

Crobat
(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fvignette2.wikia.nocookie.net%2Fsnivypedia%2Fimages%2Fa%2Fa7%2FMega_Crobat.png%2Frevision%2Flatest%3Fcb%3D20140705004926&hash=45c3f0d68c718892fa4ee772ce82a6ecac986d7a)
Stats before:
HP: 85
Atk: 90
Def: 80
Sp. Atk: 70
Sp. Def: 80
Speed: 130

Stats after:
HP: 85
Atk: 130 (+40)
Def: 95 (+15)
Sp. Atk: 75 (+5)
Sp. Def: 95 (+15)
Speed: 155 (+25)

Crobat now outspeeds everything (non-scarfed) except Ninjask and Deoxys-Speed. A change of typing to Dark/Flying allow it protection from Psychic-type attacks, and since there's no Fairy type in this "generation," it only has three weaknesses. A boost in attack give it more of an offensive presence. With its new dark typing, Crobat can capitalize on Crunch (which it now gets instead of merely Bite); in addition, it gets a new Dark-type equivalent of Brick Break, allowing it to break screens without being affected by them at all (Light Break having 100 BP if both Light Screen and Reflect are up).

Mega Screen Breaker:
Item: Crobinite
Ability: Infiltrator
Nature: Adamant/Jolly

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

Moves:
~ Brave Bird
~ Crunch/Light Break
~ Cross Poison/Hone Claws/Toxic
~ Roost/U-turn
[close]

Quagsire
(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fvignette2.wikia.nocookie.net%2Fsnivypedia%2Fimages%2F8%2F81%2FMega_Quagsire.png%2Frevision%2Flatest%3Fcb%3D20131107104107&hash=6ba7f556d7c310de220e8c6fecfad60631f73716)
Stats before:
HP: 95
Atk: 85
Def: 85
Sp. Atk: 65
Sp. Def: 65

Stats after:
HP: 95
Atk: 105 (+20)
Def: 105 (+20)
Sp. Atk: 85 (+20)
Sp. Def: 95 (+30)
Speed: 45 (+10)

Quagsire changes to become more like a bulkier Sableye, having access to Toxic and Recover, as well as improving its offensive capabilities- or, it could use Substitute to stall after poisoning a target. Although Quagsire has lost the use of Unaware, it can now use Haze with priority.

Mega Prankster:
Item: Quagsirenite
Ability: Prankster
Nature: Impish/Careful

EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD

Moves:
~ Recover

Deoxys has several unique qualities as a Mega. Its new ability, DNA Type, allows it to change forms if it is in risk of being OHKO'd. In its attack type (Type-A), it has the offensive stats of Deoxys-A, yet higher defenses. In its defense type (Type-D), it has both higher defenses, offenses, and speed than its defense form. Type-D is incredibly bulky, being able to take hits rather safely from Darkrai, Mewtwo, Gengar, and CHOICE SCARF KYOGRE, while having a bit more HP left over than regular Deoxys-D.

With a type change, Golurk loses its weaknesses to Water, Grass, and Ice in exchange for a weakness to Fire. It also loses its immunity to Electric type in exchange for an immunity to Ground and Poison. With its typing and ability giving it more resistances, less weaknesses, and more immunities, a slight augment to its defenses goes a long way. Although it's unable to use Dynamic Punch efficiently (or any of its Iron Fist-boosted moves), it gains a STAB 120 base power Steel-type move to use (albeit one with recoil), and can use Phantom Punch, allowing it to hit through Protect and Detect.

In celebration of becoming the most-viewed topic in the Art board, I made a recolor of one of my favorite Gen 5 Pokemon! For some reason, I think the Ice-type would compliment Cofagrigus well, so that's why I decided on Rotom-Frost instead of another Rotom form. This completes Wave 4 (http://forum.ninsheetmusic.org/index.php?topic=4923.msg246771#msg246771) and means that requests are open for Wave 5. Personally, I think Wave 4 was really great overall because it had a lot of great requests in it that lead to a lot of funny or cool results- not to mention that my skills have improved after a few years of practice.

On another note, I'm thinking about putting the images on Imgur instead because Wikia has been weird with its images for a while and keeps resizing them weirdly, and I don't know how to fix this otherwise!

It's just so...straightforward. Like sure, it's a shortcut, but it's just kind of there. Maybe a curve? Maybe a different connection to the Western landmass? idk.

If you're talking about the little island, that's supposed to be a Battle Frontier with a town bordering it, separated by a small path.

The red part is a cave (it's kind of hard to tell the difference between the red and the "flyable location" orange, especially when there's so little of it- I just used the color Sinnoh uses in this map (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Sinnoh_Region.png) for the interior of Mt. Coronet, since that's a cave!), which I figure will help it transition into the route, which is somewhat mountainous (http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/snivypedia/images/d/dc/Route_24_Map.png/revision/latest?cb=20130821212655) (also of note, I'm probably going to make a new version of this map soon as well, since I think I might have lost the file to the original).

basically you need your routes to connect towns, not act as a path that you follow
they're too linear

Really? Especially with the addition of the new water route, I don't think the region is any more linear than, say, Johto. Johto places an impassable roadblock after Violet City, forcing you to take the "scenic route," and then, when you get to Ecruteak, you can either go to Olivine/Cianwood, or Mahogany Town- but you'll have to go to all of them regardless. Then you continue on to Blackthorn City, and get back to the beginning through an obstacle you can't pass back through (without Fly, of course), and so on.

Technically speaking, most of the regions do follow a linear path, at least until a certain point (usually late enough into the game where such freedom is in itself limited), which is especially accomplished by geography and either permanent or temporary roadblocks when geographic focal points overlap. You also seem to be forgetting that the story allows opportunities for backtracking (after all, Pokemon games aren't just gym-to-gym anymore!), and a few off-to-the-side locations that aren't entirely necessary to visit might become interesting places to explore later.

And, I mean, geographically, don't even get me started about Unova in Black/White... :P

Holy crud, someone is doing a Pokemon thingy on rpgmaker? :D Dang, that's awesome. Might drop you a pm to ask for details or something hehe

Buuut anyway:

Yeah. That's something I probably don't want to meet up with on my second route.

Usually by then you don't even have a full team yet, so having to traverse through...that, is going to be...hard. ahaha~

Unless this is an RPG intending to pose gamers a legit challenge, I think it's too much. Cool design though, great concept ^^

First of all, it's on a program called Advance Map which, while it's much less user-friendly than RPGMaker, is still a functional and effective tool (I'm watching a series of tutorials for it, just about to get into the scripting portion of it). And secondly, it's definitely supposed to be more on the challenging side (the first gym, just before this route, is a double battle), though I'm pretty sure the route would need to have at least one Doctor/Nurse on it just because of the sheer length of it (it would have been bigger, but I'm pretty sure the version of Advance Map I'm using puts hard limitations on the width/height ratio; not sure if other version do that, or if it's simply something to do with the Pokemon ROM itself; i.e. that's the limitation of the GBA).

Oh so this is a ROMhack! I like the sound of that! I've never used Advance Map (because I tried, but I got a virus lol), and the only ROM-hacking I've done (for Pokemon games) is use a randomiser, but there's no effort in that. Is Advance Map hard to use? I heard that it's pretty good.

You do have to be careful where you download stuff, and make sure you get everything from the "official"/original source. Advance Map is kind of frustrating/tedious to use (I'm mostly using the 1.95 beta version, which isn't being developed any more, but I also have 1.92; I'm pretty sure that any more recent comparable applications have also ceased development, or aren't far enough into development to be fully usable), though it works if you know what to do (therein lies the problem, considering the program itself explains very little) and you have enough dedication to use it (and in order to get full use out of it, like if you want to change tilesets, animations, and other stuff, you need other programs in addition to it).
Title: Re: BDS's Pokemon Sprite Fusions (Requests when open)
Post by: WaluigiTime64 on August 10, 2016, 12:25:02 PM
Yeah, those are the problems with a lot of Rom-hacking software. They:
 - can be annoying to use
 - can be hard to use
 - fail to explain how they work
 - corrupt the ROM easily
 - don't have enough features to be useful
 - have stopped development
 - +more

I'd say the best ROM-hacking software in general is Lunar Magic for Super Mario World. You can basically do anything with that one, and it still gets updated. I'd like to try Pokemon ROM-hacking again, so I'll need to get the software again.

Double post because:
1: All Sprite Fusions included in the four completed waves have been uploaded to Imgur! Behold them in all their properly-sized glory! Also did some minor touch-ups on some of the earlier ones because there were a few weird pixels hanging around (as a result of my early-days incompetency) that shouldn't have been there.
2: Unzymotic is done and it, uh, kind of looks like an old angry chicken. But that's ok!... I guess.
3: Requests are still open! I think there's room for three more spots before requests close, so request, request, request away! Also, Gen 6 Pokemon are fully open to sprite fusions now (tentatively Megas as well). Not so sure about Gen 7, because I'm reliant on the Smogon Sprite Projects for sprites, and I'm not sure if they've 100% completed their Gen 7 sprites.

A few updates; now that I'm back home, I'll be working more on this and some others things.

1: All the sprites of Wave 5 are done except Skitty + Ledbya, which I hope I'll work on in the next couple of days. Then, Wave 6 will launch.
2: I'm working on moving all the fakemon stuff I've worked on from Wikia to Google Sites, for personal use and more convenience for anyone who cares. That will likely take a while, but I already started on it today. A link will be added in the first post and/or my signature or something.

GET HYPED.

At long last, I have finally finished porting over all the information relation to my Nornova Fakemon from Wikia to a Google Site, available here (https://sites.google.com/site/fakemoncompilation/). In a little bit, I'll be adding this link to my signature to replace the current link. Images have not been moved over because there are some of them I want to modify before I put them back in.

Also sprite requests are still open!
