Why hasn't anyone posted here?! Hi and welcome! :D
Checked your arrangements and I must say that they're pretty good! I hope to see more of your work soon! ;)
Thank you!
I'm very happy to finally be a part of this community. School is keeping me quite busy, but hopefully I'll be able to contribute more frequently over the summer.
Two new arrangements added.
Kirby's Epic Yarn is fantastic. Great job on the arrangement! There are so many beautiful songs in that game...
Good Epic Yarn arrangement. I always thought the music was one of the best parts of that game, the piano was pretty well used.

Thank you both! I instantly fell in love with the game and the music, and I was very surprised when I found so few arrangements for it.
Another awesome arranger!
I might point out though, the chord in the R.H. of measure 23 is a bit hard to reach.

The World One, I assume?
I meant to get rid of that. You can actually just skip the B because you're already playing it with your left hand. I'll try to update that soon. :)
Fixed KEY World one.
Added unfinished arrangement.
Um...it's a good start?
First off, the time signature should be 6/8 instead of 9/8. For the left hand, you can start by just putting in the notes played by the bass in the original piece. It's hard to analyze at this stage because of the rhythm issues...I'll be happy to help once you've fixed the time sig!
I thought there was something wrong with the timing. Fixed.
The songs is a actually in E major, so remove all the accidentals and have 4 sharps in the key sig.
Fixed, thank you!
Added a bit more of the right hand. I can't fix the intro to match the speed of the rest of the song for the life of me, though.
Folklore arrangement "A Mysterious Door" added.
You in C# minor so use B#s instead of C naturals.
Quote from: FireArrow on May 08, 2013, 08:11:03 PMYou in C# minor so use B#s instead of C naturals.
Oops. I actually meant to fix that to where D isn't sharp in the key signature, since it's not used very much. Or am I already in the correct key?
I only took piano lessons for a very short period of time, so I'm not very familiar with key signatures.
Your thinking about it the wrong way. What note do you hear as the tonic? Is it Major or Minor? Put it in that key signature (unless it's in some weird mode.)
As for the b#, you notate it that way becuase it's a harmonic minor.
Okay. Like I said, not very many piano lessons, but from what I remember about tonics and from what I've just googled, the tonic is C#, yes?
So, still in C# minor and I've fixed all the C naturals to B#s.
I'd recommend learning some music theory, it's extraordinarily helpful for arranging. Yeah, if the key signature is C# minor then C# is the tonic.
Great job on the arrangement though! I really enjoyed listening to it!
I know. I quit doing lessons right about the time I started learning music theory, so my knowledge is definitely very limited. I keep thinking I'll get back into lessons, but life keeps me too busy. Maybe I'll buy a book to practice with at home.
Thanks for your help! I'm sure I'll pick up bits along the way as well, so the more I arrange the more I'll learn.
Thank you. I never got very far into the game since I found it very difficult, but I always loved the music. :)
Added Star Trek: Into Darkness - "London Calling".
London Calling is actually in F minor (4 flats.) Change the F flats to E naturals and your D flats are now included in the key signature. Most of your mistakes seem to be involving minor scales, so I'll give you a little theory lesson. ;)
There are 3 types of minor scales - natural minor, harmonic minor, and melodic minor.
Natural minor is when it's simply in the key signature. Harmonic minor is when you raise the 7th a half step to create a leading tone. Melodic minor is when you raise the 6th and 7th while ascending and play them normally while descending. We'll focus on the harmonic minor.
So - I'll point out the obvious right now. The seventh is raised rather then the 1st being lowered. So, in A minor, you would use a G# instead of an Ab, In F minor you would use an E natural instead of an F flat, In G# minor you would use an F double sharp instead of a G natural, etc.
I would explain to you how to figure out if it's a harmonic minor or not, however, you already know that as your arrangement have the raised seventh. Just ask your self when you place an accidental - "is this a raised seventh?"
Sorry if that's confusing.
Fixed. I thought it seemed a bit off.
Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to help. :)
it makes me look smart
My pleasure!
Added Kirby's Epic Yarn "Treat Land".
It, uh, broken... I can't open the file.
It's working fine for me, but I've re-uploaded it and updated the link anyway if you want to try again.
It works now.
Your missing a layer and I think some of your chords are wrong, I'll see what I can do but I'd recommend trying to get Olimar to look at this in the live feekback thread.
I can try to get the con pedale to work for you though. :)
I'm not sure what you mean by missing a layer, but I do know that at least the chords in measure 37 and 38 are not correct, if not more. I figured I'd just update it when I figure it out, but if you can get to it before I can then go for it. ;D
I tried it with the ped and it actually sounds better without.
Ok, two things.
1. I think I'll be able to figure this out, but there are some Jompa chords in here. Do you want me to go through and edit it for you or just tell you where the mistakes are? (It would be easier for me this was.)
2. Con Pedale is different then ped: ped is gonna make it sound very muddy, however, it sounds very good with con pedale!
You can just point them out. I should be able to fix them all in my version.
See, Olimar did a con pedale for me and it sounds the same as ped in Songwriter, but probably because it doesn't have a con pedale option. If it will sound better in the midi and in other Finale programs, then that would actually be great. Might want to wait until I've fixed all of the chords, though, in case something screws it up(Finale hates me.)

It sounds good in finale 2012.
I have both good and bad news:
The good: This song and your arrangement are awesome and when I'm done I'm definitely gonna print it out and learn it.
The bad: The whole L.H. is wrong. I didn't notice at first, but when I downloaded an mp3, I did. Your underestimating the length of the intervals, you'll see what I mean when I'm done editing (I don't feel like making a giant post correcting every note.)
Bleh. I know I have a pretty crappy ear, but I felt pretty proud of myself with this one.
Oh, well. Thanks for helping out a noob. ::)

Oh, well. Thanks for helping out a noob. ::)
No worries, I'm a noob too. It's much easier to correct an arrangement that isn't yours.
I would recommend doing some interval training, it's a really common mistake to hear an interval as less then it should be.
I think the strings are tripping me up, as well. Plus I have to play it at my piano, which forces me to listen to the song off of my phone, and my phone doesn't exactly have the best sound quality.
I keep saying I'll take up lessons again, but turns out fitting in piano lessons, piano practice and 5 [horseback] rides a week is a bit of a struggle.
I vote that we get an extra day added to a week.

Haha, I could use a day taken out of my week. I have way too much free time.
Also, I shouldn't be the only one posting here. Come on people!
London Calling and Xion's Theme? Agh both such great songs. Good luck finishing.
Thanks. London Calling is actually finished. I've found it a bit boring to play, though, so I may end up arranging a version more suited for piano. :)
Added Folklore "The End of Memories".
I'm sorry for taking so long... do you want me just post what I have so you can do the rest? Then I can take the time to look at the other ones you just posted!

Really, the majority of the times, you weren't that off, you just needed to turn a lot of those triads into waltzy jumps.
You don't need piano lessons to interval train, just search one up on google, it'll help with songs like this.
Updated.
Sunny, don't give up hope. Every single arranger on here was bad when they first started (even Deku :o) I have faith in you! Thanks for contributing!
Thanks. I don't plan on leaving any time soon, so you're just going to be stuck with me and my noobish arrangements. ;D
Speaking of which, I've added a new one.
Added Animal Crossing: New Leaf "11 A.M."
Added Animal Crossing: New Leaf "7 P.M."
I can't download 7 PM for some reason.
The link was working when I posted it, but it's gone corrupt for some reason. It's fixed now, hopefully.
7 PM is beautiful! I can't download 1 AM, though? I keep getting errors.
Thank you!
Apparently I've been posting the links in a way Dropbox doesn't like very much. I've got it the right way now, though. :)
There we go! 1 am is my favorite song, so I can't wait to learn it!
It's one of my favorites as well! It's so simple but still beautiful.
Added Animal Crossing: City Folk "The City".
Great job! What's with all the quarter = 100 everywhere though?
Thanks!
Songwriter is a twat and thinks the timing also has to be the staff name. And if I delete it, it also deletes the timing. :P
Oh! So that's where this (http://db.tt/2be4qnGL) comes from!
Not bad. Keep up the good work. ;)
Thank you! (:
Updated Folklore "The End of Memories".
Added Animal Crossing: City Folk "The City(Morning)".
You're just pumping out Animal Crossing arrangements, aren't you? XD
Great job, just remember that quality > quantity and to make sure that all your sheets meet the requirements before making a ton of them.
I actually didn't look at the sheets, that's not within my abilities to critique them. Just a reminder. :D
One of the main reasons I started arranging was so that I could play more AC songs. xD
No worries. I'm sure you get lots of people posting half-assed arrangements. I follow the sheet guidelines, and make sure my sheets are as accurate as I think I can get them before posting. :)
Naw, your arrangements are great sunny!
The only one you said you need help on is 11:00 am, but I'm scared of jazz. :-\
Aw, thank you! I do feel like I'm improving at least a little.
It's actually not too bad. I think I've got all of it, it's just the ending that needs to be fixedcompletely redone. I feel like a couple chords are a bit off as well, but I haven't even tried it on my piano yet. When I do I should be able to fix that easily.
Quote from: sunnydelight18 on June 25, 2013, 09:57:17 AMAw, thank you! I do feel like I'm improving at least a little a lot.

Can't wait to see more arrangements/updates!
Well, until school starts back up, I expect to keep adding arrangements at this pace.
Added Kingdom Hearts: 368/2 "Xion's Theme".
Added Animal Crossing: City Folk/New Leaf arrangement "Stale Cupcakes(Live)"
What happened to your New Leaf arrangements? The URLs seem to be broken.
For the love of all that is holy...
They were working. Fixed them now, hopefully.
Added unfinished arrangement The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess "Dangoro".
ahhh more zelda songs
Sunny will you be my gf
I'll help you out with this one. I don't have Finale, so I'm not in a position to make changes for you, but here are some things that should help:
First off, I would put that series of eigth notes as an upbeat, rather than starting the first measure with them.
Bar 3-4: Beef up the chords a little more. I hear suspension, so that means in the right hand, change that half note dot to to a quarter E-A-D. At least I think that's suspension. After that, an eigth note F#-B-E, another eigth note Eb-Ab-Db, and then your triplet, which is E-A-D (all natural) , G#-C#-F#, and A-D-G. The fermata'd chord it ends on is Bb-Eb-Ab (or A#-D#-G#, not sure which). Now the left hand. Crap, I need screenshots for this.

Yeah, that should help a little. Let me know if you need me to be clearer.
Bar 5-6: Those C octaves should be Eb-Ab-Db.
Bar 13-14: That should be this. In the right hand.

I'm exhausted, and that's all I have energy for right now, but a couple things. One: Spit already claimed a song very similar to this. (http://www.ninsheetm.us/smf/index.php?topic=5669.0) Yours is technically different, so it'll be nice to compare them when he's done.
Also: vgmusic.com is a great place to check for MIDIs before arranging, and they happen to have one for this song. I would recommend checking with that for accuracy, they're quite good.
Good luck! Finish it if you can!
ok bby.
I can't create upbeats in my version of finale, unfortunately. I can probably get someone else to do it for me, though.
Okay, thanks. Usually I play my arrangements on my piano to finish off chords, I just haven't gotten around to that yet. Although the the last four chords(measure 3 and 4) are ascending, just like I have them.
I know that Darknut, Darkhammer, and Dangoro are all very similar, except that they have different intros and I think they have variations near the end of the song. I haven't listened to the other two all the way through in a while, though, so I don't remember exactly.
I did check the midi for this song, but a) Songwriter really does not like midis and makes them into the worst format it possibly can and b) it didn't sound very accurate, but maybe that's just me. :P
Plus, I kind of prefer to do my arrangements completely by ear if I can so I can improve more.
Thanks for all your help! I've updated the file if you want to hear the changes.
Added Super Paper Mario arrangement "Merlee's Mansion".
I love this song. I got stuck for so long in this area. XD
Thanks for arranging it.
No problem. (:
It's not very good though, LOL. I'm still working on it.
Added Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life arrangement "Lumina's Piano Lesson".
Hey Sunny, some of the links don't work. You think you could fix it? :)
All fixed. I think some of the older ones got corrupted when I moved the files to the NSM folder.
Also, added Animal Crossing: New Leaf arrangement "Re-Tail".
Great! :)
Ahh! I love Re-Tail's theme! :D
It's one of my favourites as well! ;D
Just a small note, Kingdom Hearts: 368/2 Days is incorrectly named and it should be Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. Was looking over sheets a bit and thought you'd like to know. ;D
Whoops. I'll get that fixed soon, thanks for letting me know!
I have a tendency to call it "364/2", so that's kind of what happened. xD
Added Folklore arrangement "Sorrow."
Added Animal Crossing arrangement "Train Ride."
YES I LOVE TORCHWOOD
Added Twilight Princess arrangement "Lake Hylia."
Very nice job! You got, like, every single note right!
A couple of things you should consider: In measures 57-60, try making the right hand notes octaves, with the note being added an octave lower. This should still be playable. Also, try adding pedal breaks in the actual sound when the main chord changes. That should fix any muddled-up sound in the background.
Overall, very, very nice job!
Thanks!
Okay, I'll try that. I can't really do anything about the pedal, though. My only pedal option with my version of Finale is a "ped". I know it doesn't sound so great, but it sounds even worse without. :P
I think what dudeman is trying to tell you is to use the little star thing (what's it called?) that means to lift the pedal every chord change (reapply the pedal right after.)
I actually completely forgot that was an option, LOL. I'll try that.

Fixed Animal Crossing: New Leaf arrangement "11 A.M."
Added Endless Ocean: Blue World arrangement.

Nice arrangement of sealed grounds! A few things:
First, if you want to submit this, you're going to want to put the copyright at the bottom. (Also, give yourself some arranger credit, I mean goddamn :P)
As far as writing goes, there are some spots where you stretch the right hand more than it needs to. While it's usually ok to write intervals up to a 10th, if you can avoid that by switching hands, that's usually preferable. I generally just do that for anything wider than an octave, if it's possible. So, spots like in bars 12, 13, and 14, I would move the eighth notes down to the left hand (especially 14, you have them playing an 11th in one hand, haha; that goes for the full measure, too, because it'd make those 32nd notes a lot easier to play). Go ahead and do that wherever applicable in the rest of the piece, too.
Also, your rests are a little funky at times. For example, every time you have a quarter rest starting on the "and" of beat 2. There are some cases where it's not as defined whether you can cross the center of a bar with a rest, but doing so with a quarter rest in 4/4 is generally a no-no. So, in places like bars 10, 14, and 18 where you do this, the quarter rest in the middle should instead be two eighth rests. As far as half rests crossing the center of a measure goes, to my knowledge, it's not as definitively wrong, but I've more frequently seen those divided into quarter rests. In other words, the half rests in bars 7, 11, 15, 19, and anywhere they're used the same way, would instead be written as two quarter rests.
Anyways, that's all for now, I'm really tired. I'll look at it again tomorrow. Maybe I'll find some more things then, or maybe I'll look back and realize I wasn't making any sense. It's always a gamble at this hour.
But still, nice arrangement.
Oops. I must have uploaded the wrong version without the copyrights and such.
My printer is broken once again, but I could tell clearly just by looking that some of those stretches would be impossible and that you would have to switch hands or cross over to reach them. I wasn't sure the best way to notate that, though, so I just left it. I'll see what I can do with that.
I'll definitely fix up those rests as well.
No worries, you made perfect sense. Thank you for the input!

They're all completely awesome ! I needed them because theres a Videogame Piano Performance Contest in my music school on March and the 5th year students like me have to play pieces from 5 diferente games , so I just chose Endless Ocean as one , and now I joined the contest I cant change the pieces I have to play xD . If not , I will get some time to arrange them myself ::)
I've reuploaded the Endless Ocean arrangements along with a few others.

Though you have the wrong key signature (it's in A-minor) and some wrong note beaming throughout.
Thank you!
