I'm going to nominate a new rule considering the considerable lack of activity in the last few games, if you don't mind. This isn't to say that the games are crappy, but they could stand to be a bit better!

this is actually copypasted from another site don't tell anyone
As such, I'm trying a new experimental activity rule that is a lot stronger than past games. To be considered active, each phase every player must contribute at least four meaningful posts or three meaningful posts and one vote. Failure to remain active will result in a single warning, followed by a modkill should activity not improve. A post counts as meaningful if it advances the discussion/in some way engages with the game. Your first vote of any phase automatically counts as meaningful unless you're blatantly throwing out a random vote to meet requirements; further votes will be judged on their merit (that is to say, if you're spamming random votes with no rhyme or reason, that does not count as engaging with the game, while if you're joining a wagon it probably does). Exceptions in enforcement may be made for any phase that ends notably early, at mod discretion (which is to say you won't be punished if someone gets fast-pushed two hours into a phase before you're able to check in), but don't count on any leniency if you wait until the last two hours to open your mouth. You will not be held accountable for posting during any time in which you are marked as Away in the appropriate thread.

I'll try to sign up and be active as well, and I might make a game if there are enough players!

yugi really wants to be twc

While it sounds interesting "on paper," I'm not sure how feasible it would be. Eventually, if people don't/can't follow the rule, and as a result, decide not to join at all, you'll just end up with really small games. :P

@Yugi: I'm not a big fan of players being "modkilled" since it penalizes their whole team rather than just that player. As much as I'd like to institute a rule that forces players to be replaced if they don't meet a certain quota of activity, I don't think we have a large enough player base to support something like that.

Maybe a minimum of 1 post?

That probably won't work very well
Title: Re: TWG 78: Player Sign Ups

I concur with Bird; our Player base isn't large enough to be making modkills or replacing Players, unfortunately.

Often, an inactive Player base isn't necessarily because every Player is busy, but more that there's a lack of engagement between Players and the game.  It might be worthwhile for Hosts to create games where Players are enticed to participate for some reason or another.  This is what I attempted to do with the Shotgun Mechanic in TWG 76, which I feel brought up activity by a tad.  Other ideas might outperform it in regard to motivating Players to be active, however.

i think ive finally figured out a way around this inactivity issue

Spoiler
TWG: MO$T ACTIVE TWG

Universal Effects:
Big Money - Players earn 25 cents per post when the game ends.
Cardflipping - Players roles are revealed upon death.

1. Greedy Wolf - Seered green. Can plant a leech seed on another player which takes half of their money each phase, at the expense of appearing red for the rest of the game.
2. Wolf Shaman - Can seer a player each night.

3. Seer - Can seer a player each night.
4. Dollar Lord - Gets 1 dollar per post. Knows he's the Dollar Lord.
5. Human
6. Human
7. Human

8. Mean Mr. Poverty - Third party. If he wins, he receives everybody's accumulated money. If he loses, he receives no money. Wins the game if he's lynched (overriding).

I don't have the kind of time to host. I can play, maybe I can design something for... 10 players and someone here can host it?

Also: If you children can't play nice with one another you'll be forced into a time-out. Capiche?

FSM had a cool idea for a TWG forever ago. (http://forum.ninsheetmusic.org/index.php?topic=4867.msg170259#msg170259) He seemed open to the idea of letting other people host it. I'm gonna ask him for permission to host a modified version of it, since I've wanted to see how that kind of day phase would play out.

Might need to revise it a bit, but here it is!!!

TWG 78: Troll-tan's Great Adventure
(https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Fr9GiiNV.png&hash=83a5eaddaf291e210d8d97836ad1c5d4b971b4b3)

Mechanics:
Shotgun - Every Day Phase, there will be a Shotgun present.  The first Player to say "I shoot [Player]" has a 1/n chance of successfully shooting the Player, where n is the number of living Players.  The second Player will have a 1/(n-1) chance of successfully shooting, the third a 1/(n-2), etc. until a successful shot is made.  If the Player targeted to be shot is dead, the shot will ricochet from the corpse to the shooter.  The Shotgun may make only one successful shot per Day Phase.  The Shotgun must be used each Day Phase, or else everyone alive in the game loses.  If a Player is shot by the Shotgun but is wearing a Bulletproof Vest, it will be announced to the thread.  A Player shot by the Shotgun will cardflip his/her Role.

Bulletproof Vest - The Wolves choose one of the two Wolves to wear a Bulletproof Vest at the beginning of the game.

Ballot Box Seering - During every Night Phase, every Player sends the Host a PM with a seering vote on the name of a living Player.  One seering vote is selected at random at the end of the Night Phase and that Player is publicly seered in the topic.  The number of seering votes on each Player is also revealed at the end of the Night Phase.

Ballot Box Reviving - Every even Night Phase, every Player sends the Host a PM with the name of a lynched Player.  The Player with the most votes is revived.

Power Order: Revivings < Seerings < Paintings < Wolfings

1. Wolf Painter with Bulletproof Vest - Sends a message to the Host during the Night Phase with the name of a Player.  That Player is seered Red for that Night Phase.  If shot by the Shotgun, will survive once.
2. Wolf Painter - Sends a message to the Host during the Night Phase with the name of a Player.  That Player is seered Red for that Night Phase.
3. Fool - Wins if lynched (being shot does not count as a lynch).  Sends the Host a PM with the name of a Player every Night Phase.  Learns that Player's colour at the end of the Phase.
4. Human with Bulletproof Vest - Told he/she is a normal Human.  If shot by the Shotgun, will survive once.
5. Human with Bulletproof Vest -  Told he/she is a normal Human.  If shot by the Shotgun, will survive once.
6. Human

TWG LXXVIII: Boomerang Tag
Now in Comic Sans
Yes, it's everyone's favorite childhood game, now adapted to be a cold-hearted murder mystery!  What could possibly go wrong?!
1. Wolf
2. Wolf
3. Wolf/Human (balance)*
4. Human
5. Human
6. Human
7. Human
8. Seer
9. Vigilante
10. Miller (Is told he's a normal human)

When each night begins, the remaining roles will be randomly redistributed among the living players.  Once a player dies, his or her role will be locked in and cannot be switched, even if that player is somehow revived.  Color cardflips are active.

*I would put the 3rd wolf in, but I'm not sure how imbalanced the swapping will make it.  For now I plan on putting this role as human, but if we get another player or if it's determined to be too in favor of humans I'll make it a wolf role.
