Title: "Fixing the Sheets" Project
Post by: Brawler4Ever on July 07, 2008, 07:27:25 AM
July 8, 2008. Around 12:18 PM(My time  :D)
I edited this first post for my little project. This original post was a request for permission for me to improve the sheets on this site(That's why it's in the Help! Section). Now that I have it, I decided that I should change this post.
Users who will edit his\her own work:
Nintendude73, Echo, pumpy_heart, Palagerini, and Composer#40

Where I'm at:
Beginning Castlevania Section (This'll be fun. /sarcasm)
pumpy_heart's doing the Golden Sun Section.  :D
G-Han's doing a few Chrono Trigger songs.
ZeldaFan's doing the OoT Songs.

I'll post the finished product either here or in my Submission thread(all work will be under the original arranger's name).
If you want to edit your own work, just say so in this thread.
If you want to help, just say so in this thread. I have over 1000 sheets to go through. I'm open for volunteers.  ;)

If you want to fix up sheets that just have some minor issues, by all means go ahead.  You won't get any credit for it, but everyone will appreciate it I'm sure.  People mostly think our sheets are bad for bigger reasons (rhythms, notes) though we are trying hard to be more choosy and careful now (most of the sheets people don't like are the older ones).  And don't bother with any of mine, I'm fixing all of them.

Ok. That'll work for me. Thanks.

To everyone else: I'm going down the list. I'll start with Aimal Crossing and working my way down. If any of you want to help, I only ask that you say what you're going to be doing, i.e. the Legend of Zelda section.

I'll post what  I've done/will be doing in a little while.

I'm redoing all the sheets that I've done, although I can only fix my notation problems mostly since I only have NotePad.
Title: Re: "Fixing the Sheets" Project
Post by: Palagerini on July 07, 2008, 05:06:06 PM
i'm redoing the bob-omb battlefield sheet... but it won't be done with since i'm redoing all of sheet by me...
Title: Re: "Fixing the Sheets" Project
Post by: Composer #40 on July 07, 2008, 07:05:13 PM
The only thing I need is for someone to tell me if it's playable. I'll fix the key signature (to the best of my ability) or format.

fyi, I also plan to fix the titles to what G-Han said is "proper."
So to save everyone time, if you're going to fix some sheets, make sure that it's "proper (http://www.ninsheetmusic.net/forum/index.php?topic=481.0)."

These are the sheets with which I'm done(to a certain extent). All files with an "f" after them need further fixing which I cannot give to them. All of the necesary information is on their own sheets. Those without f's only have title errors or small note errors. Those can be submitted whenever an admin wants to submit them.

Animal Crossing Section:
Animal Crossing
"Able Sisters f (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zjedtbaw3eg)" by Jimbabwe
"K.K. Ballad (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?iemxfzm4bsu)" by Akiro
"Only Me (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?y2gyao0zzmz)" by The-Real-Link
"Title f (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?tz2nwiypnzh)" by G-Han
"Town f (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?6utzxgjwgem)" by G-Han
" Go, K.K. Rider! f (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ee0zgwpxhw4)" by G-Han. This is in the Wild World game section, but it's in both AC and AC:WW. From what I know, the song should go in the first game released. is that correct?
*I also have a bunch of sheets by Ninendude73, which I did before you said that I shouldn't do yours. They include all of the sheets by you in the Animal Crossing game except "Working for Nook." Also, I have 2PM from AC:WW. I have no idea why. ???
Should I post them here since they're already done? Or no?

Animal Crossing: Wild World

"K.K. Funk f (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ebtmiajnesp)" by Chipmunk884
"Main Gate (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?g2enwxwjvtw)" Arranger unknown.  :o

I will edit mine.
I have to fix some of them up anyways.
Afterwards, I will edit all of the Golden Sun section. It would be an honor for me to do those.

EDIT 7/14: I added some more songs. More coming soon.

REDOING
Super Lucky Dice (need to start...)

GOLDEN SUN
Altin Caves (http://www.mediafire.com/?xcyz0npnvmz) Intro is now correct. Key siggy fixed as well.
Battle Theme (http://www.mediafire.com/?tvmdf9u3tn5) Now it sounds like a battle theme. The bass part is mainly octave jumps...but sounds waayyy better than the old one.
Colosso Battle (http://www.mediafire.com/?l14xsdzcdnn)
Death (http://www.mediafire.com/?wt4xx9vkisv)
Ivan's Theme (http://www.mediafire.com/?zuvhtzm0mwi)
Kalay (http://www.mediafire.com/?0wzy2mg2c8v) This was previously known as Tolbi. I was mistaken in naming this. It is actually Kalay. You can delete the current Tolbi sheet.
Lalivero (http://www.mediafire.com/?n9jzctjjnvy) MasterPenguin gets all credit for this.

GOLDEN SUN 2
Caves (http://www.mediafire.com/?zgnm7g422ms) Done by Sam Waetford
Children's Song (http://www.mediafire.com/?rytsjvmsny0)
Gaia Rock (http://www.mediafire.com/?jxgypy0dt1b)
Garoh (http://www.mediafire.com/?wmwdxxnbt3j) Still love this song.
Jenna Battle (http://www.mediafire.com/?xytl2mdm002) As I have said before, this belongs under Golden Sun 2]
Mars Lighthouse (http://www.mediafire.com/?ljxjxo2gcgn) New version. Now this song makes me want to explore around the lighthouse.
Tropical Paradise (http://www.mediafire.com/?crtxy9lpyrk) THIS SONG HAS BEEN UBERLY UPDATED! GREAT SONG!
Prox (http://www.mediafire.com/?xfavmmhryce) By Sam Waetford. I fixed some notes (IE changed A flats to G sharps because it was in A minor)

Another series completed

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (http://www.mediafire.com/?fz9wxt0myne)

Shouldn't this be on the feedback section, not the help section?

Yeah, probably.  :P
But I can't move it. Or, at least, I don't know how.

Also, some of your songs need Key Signatures and 8vas and stuff, Composer.

Ask the admins, Concerto usually moves it.

Second, which ones? I'm not the best at pinpointing key sigs and the songs (if I find the key) continually skate out of it and back again. In short you don't change the key sig every two measures.
Title: Re: "Fixing the Sheets" Project
Post by: Brawler4Ever on July 24, 2008, 06:27:29 PM
I know. That would completely destroy the purpose of the Key Signature if one changed it every other measure...
I'm fixing your arrangements from Banjo Tooie, so I'll be posting those soon.
For your Castlevania arrangements which you provided above:

Chapel: Starts with Key of B Flat Major + Key of G Major. Is that possible? At Measure 24, it changes to key of A Flat Major and G Major. At 30, it's just G Major. At 36, you might be able to add a B Flat Major... the Flats outnumber the potential accidentals. Or, to go around that, you could just have G Major at 36, then change it at 40... The former would be easier, though.

Inner Quarters: Wow. Castlevania songs are difficult... At 35, the Key Signature should be A Flat Major. It's very confusing...

Clock Tower: At 17, with the repeat, it should be C Minor/3 Flats and B Minor/2 Sharps. I think that it stays like that until the end.

QuoteWow. Castlevania songs are difficult...

And thanks, ZeldaFan.

Hm...seems accurate but look here...http://www.teoria.com/tutorials/scales/sc-tool.htm

They seem to have names for the things you're suggesting and sometimes suggest otherwise.

I'll come back to say which is which and see if your suggestions work. I'll put up the changed sheets.

P.S. you have to change your first post on the topic, I declared (so formal :() that I will look over all the sheets with my name on it.

About 8vas and 8vbs: how far up or down should they be before they should need an 8va or 8vb? BK says three ledger lines, but I think that that's too far. I think that it makes the song easier to play if an 8va is put there, even if it's only one or two lines over the rim either way(excluding Middle C, of course). What does everyone else think?

@Composer: The Scale Constructor is confusing.  :P I get the names of the Key Signatures from the Key Signature Tool- it has the name right below the picture of the example. But I might have made a mistake. I dunno.

And btw, thanks for helping. That includes everyone, of course. But still.  :P

1. I think G-Han said two ledger lines but then that was a long time ago.

2. Use the Scale Constructor to fish out the scales that seem have the mix of two scales into one.

Another series is finished  :D

Of course I don't mind (if you're asking me, anyways :P)
Also, if you could find Key Signatures, that would also be helpful. If you can't change  the Key Sig, then just put the correct Key Sig name at the top-left of the first page. Someone else will do it. That's what I have to do.  :'(
 :)

Sonic & Knuckles Series (http://www.mediafire.com/?3leydocgs23)

I forgot which Sandopolis zone act is on the site so I made both. Also, in Lava Reef Zone, the bass in measures 13-14 has to be put one octave up, then put a 8vb over it (makes it readable).

I also made sure that the key signatures are correct.
