Don't violin soloists almost always play their parts from memory anyway?

Quote from: Maelstrom on October 07, 2016, 08:44:31 PMPuella Magi Madoka Magica is literally the best magical girls anime ever.
Watch it without looking it up.

I finished watching that the other day after having looked for something short but sweet. Pretty good, albeit trippy and nightmare-inducing (not that those are bad qualities).

I see Kalafina's name invoked and yet no mention of Fate/Zero's second opening, how saddening... also, for some reason, I can't find the 91 Days opening — or even just the song itself — anywhere on YouTube or NND, but it's... really good.

Quote from: Maelstrom on September 30, 2016, 07:50:59 PMAlso started Fate/Zero because idk.

Fate/Zero was amazing. One of my favorites.

Quote from: Onionleaf on October 02, 2016, 01:12:40 AMAt the moment I am watching "Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso" - it's nothing phenomenal, but it's a nice feel-good, colorful show, and includes some piano and violin performances.

More of a "feel" show than a "feel-good" show by the end, though.

Also, recommending Angel Beats! (old) and 91 Days (very recent).

My university's first symphony orchestra concert is tomorrow evening, and we're playing: Copland's Letter from Home, "Ain't It a Pretty Night" from Floyd's Susannah, a world premiere of some twelve-tone goodness, and Beethoven's sixth. Now, let's see... the Copland is pretty straightforward, as well as the aria, and I've gotten the hang of most of the premiere... but the Beethoven, especially the fourth movement, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

THE FINAL EPISODE OF RE:ZERO — first season, at least — JUST WENT UP.

I started Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu the other day in anticipation of the final episode which is airing on Sunday in my time zone (I think), and it's pretty good. Somewhat reminiscent of Steins;Gate.

Quote from: Maelstrom on September 09, 2016, 09:16:29 AMWell, he recycled Touhou music, Zun's style and instrumentation, and (a) boss battle(s), so I wouldn't put it beyond him.

I don't know what you're all talking about, but now I want to know.

UNIVERSITY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AUDITIONS ARE TODAY, I THOUGHT THEY WERE TOMORROW.

Loving the format. Also seconding that recommendation of ERASED.

At a glance, the visual novel seems, if anything, less appealing to me, but since it's coming out on Steam next month (as it says) — incidentally, I happened to search it up just minutes after they made the announcement — I'll probably get it regardless. Also very much looking forward to Steins;Gate 0, though waiting for the anime adaptation will take some time, and waiting for a translated PC port, even more time...
