Hey folks, here's a little update. But first things first, sorry @Mincheno for not answering!

Quote from: Mincheno on April 28, 2020, 02:07:59 AMLove the chopin-esque vibe going on.
As for the arrangement you did... I think it´s good, I enjoyed it.

Thank you - so happy to evoke the comparison!!! Your idea to add more punch to beat 1 is wise, I'm still very much a beginner.

However, there is one more person on the forums to thank. Namely, @mastersuperfan! What this post is about is trying the program sonic pi and doing some Ace Attorney arrangements. As always, our awesome community had the sheets I was looking for, made by mastersuperfan. Great stuff!

This is the result, by the way:

Lastly, I've been eyeing doing some sheets since there's a little more free time lately. So see you around :^)

Really good stuff everyone, I especially like the night sky design :)

Just a brief note on colours: That bright red of KC's logo on the website's dark blue is pretty spicy. In general it's probably good to stick a little closer to the site's palette with the logo.

Also, a vote sounds exiting, let's do it!

Yup, thanks a lot for your improvements! I don't quite understand the thing in m 29, but you're the pro. To be honest, in my ten years of piano playing I've never looked up what it means when a note is in the same place twice with two different lengths. You see I'm learning a lot here :)

Quote from: Bespinben on April 22, 2020, 01:41:31 PMJust want to chime in here on this real quick. The tempo marking should be left-aligned with the time signature indication.

Hi again!
Quote from: KC Symphony on April 23, 2020, 02:41:54 AMHere it is! It's just a rough, but I thought it was far enough along to give an idea of what I'm going for with it. I tried pairing it with the art made by fi_le to show how it works with their idea, and I think it could turn out really cool! I have some rough designs for logos as well if people enjoy this style. Let me know what you guys think, thanks!

Yes, I like it a lot! (But it's not without problems, I think.) This would have to rendered as well; I fear that the details might become a little hard to make out, there is a lot going on not that many pixels. As I see it, the grand piano is currently see-through, which makes it a bit easier to see that Luigi is playing. How would that look like in a final version? Also, I'm not sure how the notes and the foot of the piano reaching out of the banner would work.

Again though, it's really cool and I'd also be interested in how you would design the whole banner! The idea of Nintendo characters playing instruments is a classic and it reminds me of the cover for the literal gold that is Turnabout Jazz Soul.
Oh, and can you show the logo ideas?

Quote from: Maelstrom on April 23, 2020, 06:44:33 PMthe issue with seasonal banners is that it requires a lot of art and right now we don't have any. Actually getting a nice and polished piece of art is the top priority right now.
Seconded! Again, if my banner ends up as the one then I'll surely find time to come up with some more stuff. Until then, I'll fix my poor broken drawing tablet :(

Hi Zeila!

That's like... ear magic, thanks for all the corrections.

I wasn't able to improve the formatting beyond your edit (except for the "https"), I'm really confused why using a template from the "What should your sheet music look like" thread didn't protect me from this kind of problem. Maybe things derailed when I deleted some measures?

Well, the URL seems to be incorrect on the template as well though, it's the 3/4 one from the first post of this thread. Should we fix that?

Quote from: Zeila on March 31, 2020, 03:31:45 PMI do think that it sounds too empty compared to the original at this point and this sheet would really benefit from incorporating the other harmony voice in some way or another
Yes, I agree. I tried to add more from the other voices, but couldn't quite make it work.

Quote from: Zeila on March 31, 2020, 03:31:45 PMP.S. I saw your demo for the new banner and I think it looks cute, nice job :3
Great to hear!

Hi folks!

I recently got the idea of completing an old project: Transcribing a piece from Dragon Quest IX , the "Cave Waltz".

I don't know whether it's good enough to be added to the site; I personally find it just fine to play and I tried to stick to the suggested formating.

I'd like to have a fancy BBCode table for my one thing though, I hope it's OK if I use Latios' style

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies
Cave Waltz[MUS] [MIDI] [PDF] [Original]

I don't intend on doing more, but if I do, this is the place I'll return to. Advice is very much appreciated and of course I'd be happy if the sheet was added to the site. I'll try using the automatic application :)

Quote from: Latios212 on March 28, 2020, 03:44:53 PMHehe that's Spiral Mountain from Banjo-Kazooie right? :P

And we have a winner! :)

Quote from: Latios212 on March 28, 2020, 03:44:53 PMIf I had to make a suggestion, I'd give a character from Mario/Pokémon a chance in the spotlight too as they're (along with Zelda) the most represented series on the main site.

Sure thing. My main idea for Pokémon was Shaymin; I looked through a list sorted by size and all the really small ones were from the very recent generations. (And I really like Shaymin Land Forme of course.)

For Mario, well, why am I explaining anyways, here's the updated version:

Quote from: BlackDragonSlayer on March 28, 2020, 02:31:16 PMOr, like the idea I suggested, we could have different site themes (The Cave of Dragonflies is a good example of a site with themes). "NSM Christmas," "NSM Halloween," "NSM Classic," "NSM Modern," "NSM Purple," the potential list goes on!
If my banner is picked I'd surely also find time to do a few holiday editions, sound like a lot of fun!

OK, I've got something! The idea was to populate a piece of sheet music with Nintendo characters that are actually small enough to fit, so there we have a red pikmin and Minish Cap link roaming around in an arrangement from this site. (Bonus Quiz: Which arrangement?)

Due to larger image size I opted for a different upload method this time, hope it works...

If someone has a really good idea for another little guy to get into there, I might be able to add them (Depending on both free time and drawing ability :^)

Edit: Oh, right, I forgot to mention some technical stuff - The background color should be the same as the bottom part of the website, namely #F1F7F9
The banner currently has its own background color, #B1C6D6, but I think my dimensions of 2000x200 should cover that. I'd recommend changing the banner backgroud to the lighter one and cropping the image though since it takes a bit of load time off. Hope that was intelligible!

Edit 2: Also, I wanted to see how it looks in context, so here:

Hi again!

Testing the image function with my mini-concept:

Quote from: Latios212 on March 26, 2020, 03:33:35 PMEdit: It doesn't have to be a specific size so long as it would look good on multiple screen resolutions.

Alrighty, I'll try to come up with something cool the next few days.

As for the logo, are you looking for something that fits into a circle (/ square)?

Hi folks!

This is my first post on the forum, but my millionth visit; I've enjoyed the amazing sheet music on here for my mediocre piano playing for a few years now.
That's why I'd really like to give back, in this way (Well, once I tried transcribing a waltz from Dragon Quest IX - pure catastrophe!).

I like drawing and painting a lot, if you want to look through some of my work, I have a digital sketchbook on a similarly charming and homely web forum: It's here. (Obviously we love visitors :)
That said, in all my drawing experience there isn't much at all when it comes to vector graphics, I would have to see how well I can deal with something that's neither paper not pixels.

Now, I did draw a little thing up to be developed further - I can't seem to find the image upload function though.

As for the technical stuff:
Quote from: Advos on March 25, 2020, 11:14:21 AMWhat are the dimensions for the banner

The classic banner we all love has dimensions 940x200, the website cuts the bottom part off to dimensions 940x153 and then to 940x54 depending on screen width - as far as I can tell that is.

I wonder if there could be a toggle button for old and new version...

Anyways, have a great day!
