Help! / LBP OST
« on: July 03, 2009, 07:51:03 PM »
So, I honestly have no clue where i could find it online, so, if anyone has any ideas where i could find the Little Big Planet soundtrack (kinda like the Brawl Soundtrack that was found), post here, please :)

Music / Pep band
« on: March 10, 2009, 03:11:21 AM »
So, since our basketball season wears thin (with only the championships and State left), my band director is wondering about how much we enjoy our Pep Band music. Freeze Frame, Get Ready, and Smoke on the Water gets old after awhile, so, he's asking for a few new ideas for music. So, here comes my request. I decided that the "Fever" theme from Dr. Mario and a shortened form of the "Halo" theme would be wonderful (and catch on quickly). Im wondering if anyone, should they have the time, to write up a score for these songs that will be well suited for a Pep Band environment. I'll take care of writing the individual parts to sheets, so, only a director's score will be needed. I'll list the typical instrumentation. Thank you, if you can do this for me. Like you may have guessed, there is no real rush on this.

French Horn/Mellophone (split parts, if you can)
Alto Sax (split parts)
Tenor Sax
Bari Sax
Flute (split parts)
Trumpet (Split parts)
Drum Set (only on Halo)
Clarinet (split parts)
Electric Bass Guitar
Electric Guitar

Like I said, if anyone could, i would be overjoyed, but, there is no rush and no real insistance. Im only looking for a little variety in our Pep Band.

Help! / How do you convert a .Mus to a .MP3
« on: February 11, 2009, 03:12:47 AM »
The name says it all. I need to convert a sheet to MP3 form and have no clue how. I know you cant do it on Notepad, so i have full Finale at my service.

Help! / A request unlike many others...
« on: August 23, 2008, 02:03:39 AM »
Hey, people out there! So, i said i would add a wierd request yesterday on Chat, well, here it is. First, i'll spin you a yarn. We have a fairly large English project that will be due on Sept. 10th. So, the final creativity part of it involves one of the short stories we chose to read. One of them was Musical Performance. So, i can only hope someone will take this up and put your imagination into overdrive for my following request. I need someone to possibly read "Dusk" by Saki and i would like someone to make me a piano or saxophone composition that will show the moods in the story effectively and clearly so that i may play it in class. Much thanks to those who decide to take this on!

Request / [PS1] Chrono Cross - "Reminiscence"
« on: August 16, 2008, 11:20:33 PM »
So, i believe that i'll use this thread to add in requests from Chrono Cross that i would very much so like done (Chrono Music works wonders in Church). So, if someone could possibly do this sheet for me if they have the time, i would much appreciate it. Here is a youtube video of it. It is called Reminiscence (funny how many games have music titled that...)

Help! / My Piano Sound on Notepad sounds "Electric"
« on: August 01, 2008, 12:26:05 AM »
Ok, don't sit there and laugh at me that it sounds electric because it's coming out of the computer. NO, its not that. My piano has always sounded like a piano. Now, when i put in notes it sounds very "Electrical" like a Synthesizer even though i didn't click it. It even sounds like that when i play songs already finished and in my "Save File". So, is it something i've accidentally clicked on in the menu or is my speakers or something?

Ok, so get this, it just crossed my mind that maybe i should exit out of Notepad and go back in. Now, everything is fine! what happened????

Home-Made Compositions / Gooch's Compositions
« on: July 31, 2008, 02:53:52 AM »
Hey, yeah, I have only ever arranged music, this would be my first composition...Ever. It's only a page long, but then again, your first arrangement shouldn't be a 3 movement composition that takes 10 minutes to play, so, here is my first Music Brain Child. Btw, don't laugh at the name, i know it's corny.

Breeze in the Window-

I'm too lazy to make a MIDI, so the .mus will have to do.

Off-Topic / 'Tis Marching Season
« on: July 28, 2008, 04:12:41 AM »
hey, so, yeah. Tomorrow at 8:30 i go to my school for that ever dreaded first day of band camp. Although this year wont be nearly as bad as last year (12 hour days with a white-headed 43 year old, red faced man screaming "What are ya doin'?" weren't fun). They've been cut down to 8 hour days (yay, i have a life during band camp). So, i guess this thread is for us band-geeks or wanna-be's to discuss our band camp and marching seasons. I guess the point is, tell us how your day at band camp was, what music are you playing, is it hard, how'd the competition go, where was it? just a whole slew of what is happening in those hot, sweaty suits. Also, tell us what you play (i personally play the Alto Sax). I also strongly encourage you to tell us your nickname (you had better have one, and i dont care how dirty).

So, i'll start out. My band nickname is Gooch (suprise, suprise) and this year we will be playing a custom show called "In Search Of..." and it is a awful litte buggar. It has every time signature, key change you can think of in the first part of it (almost literally changes time sig. every measure, so that means super hard to remember which foot to take off with or what you need to be marching, methinks). I play for GRC (it would be wrong of me to tell you where it is) with my White-headed, nasally voiced band director Randy. So, yeah, i'll tell you more how my days go tomorrow and so on, so post your fears, or what has already happened (i dont know when your camp starts) and if you color guard, tell us how your whole summer of constant practice is going.

Feedback / Wind Scene, truly helped me out of a rock and a hard place
« on: July 27, 2008, 06:34:15 AM »
Hidey, hidey. Im going to recount a situation that popped up in my life just recently. I suppose you could say it pretty much began when G-Han stopped his rule as an Admin and adding in those new Chrono Trigger songs. Well, lets fast forward a few days (and before i go any furthur, i swear that if someone posts something about me saying church and related topics, i will come find you and gut you like a fish). So, im at camp with my Youth Group when our Youth Pastor hears me play piano for the first time and asks me to play music in front of the church and says he has music for me to play should i need it. I don't exactly have anything that i can play for Offering Music, so i said sure. Well, fast-forward a few more days and we're back home and he hands me a book that has some music in it and tells me to learn something, he doesn't care what. Take note, he just challenged me to learn and have totally foreign music ready to play in front of a crowd of about 200, about 50 of which my peers in less than 2 days (more like 1 and a half). So, im feeling sorta confident, i get home, sit down at my lovely (yet sadly out of tune) baby grande and open this music book. Im confronted with a delima head on upon the opening of the book. This book's piano parts have no melody to them what-so-ever, only accompanyment. So, obviously i cant play that or it just sounds like im just jammin on the piano. So, my mission, find and learn music that has potential to play in front of church. Well, obviously, the first place i turn is NSM (because this is my life, and we all depend on our lives in niches). And i look at the new songs that G-Han added for the first time. I loved Chrono Trigger, still do, play it quite often. My heart went a-flutter when i saw that he had Wind Scene up because i knew it not only to be pretty, but also a good challenge for me to learn in about 1 day and 7 hours. I download it, listen to it, its obviously beautiful so i print it out, and i have pretty much done nothing today but play that piece of music, and tomorrow night i go in to play it for the congregation. I'll tell you how it goes later, but i have to say, thank you G-Han, because Wind Scene is truly remarkable.

Forgive me taking about church, because i know some people are going to go crazy when they hear me saying im playing for Jesus (lol). It protained to the story, so i deem it acceptable in my thread else i wouldn't have put it in there. So i hearby ban all posts talking abou the fact i talked about playing in front of church from my thread. SO DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!

Request / [PS1] Final Fantasy VII - Multiple Songs
« on: July 26, 2008, 01:14:27 AM »
Hidey, Hidey! yeah, there are a few songs that i would much appreciate being put together, especially if someone has the time (or even the sheets) handy. I'll list them in order from "most wanted" to "you can take your time". Take note that i want the Piano Scores.    (Highwind Takes to the Skies)  (Flowers Blooming in the Church)  (Shinra's Full-Scale Assault) *This sounded a little skippy on my comp.

Off-Topic / The NEW bad points
« on: July 09, 2008, 03:16:47 AM »
ok, because human kind is stupid, in the last Bad points (which went by a different name) everyone took the name as religious and decided to be totaly asses and get it locked over nothing significant. So, here in its glorious rebirth much like the Pheonix, i give you Bad Points 2.0. Now, not only is it thoughts that you can freely talk about that were horrible and wrong, but also things that you have or have considered doing. DISCLAIMER: Nothing put into this topic can be used against you in the court of law (lol, im kidding. OF COURSE IT WILL!) I've decided to drop my own scoring and let you decide how horrible it is. Just make sure you quote the topic to give it a score. It has to be on a scale of 1-12 (because 12 is divisible by 3 and 3 is my favorite number, i'll give you 1000 good points if you know where i got that from and whom made it, its first come first serve so if you know post away for your pointless points). So have at ye (again...)

Help! / I need the following sheet layout...
« on: July 08, 2008, 03:40:19 AM »
hiya, ok, i just recently got a challenge from one of my friends who has the music for "To Zanarkand". He told me the layout for the piece and game me a midi of it and told me to get to work to see how close i can get to it, the thing is, i cant do the format on Notepad so i need someone to make this sheet for me, please.

It is 46 measures long, starts with both clefs being Treble, it is treble cleff from measures 1-10, then Treble-Bass from 11-29, Then Treble-Treble from 30-37, then from 38-46 it goes to Treble-Bass. The Key is in G (the sharp being F if for some reason you dont know) and if its possible (i dont know) i need the following right-hand measures at 8va from 1-4, 9-11, and 30-33. Thats what he told me. I would like to quickly get to work so please make this for me in all haste if you can. Thank you.

Feedback / Chrono Trigger: Frog Theme problem
« on: July 07, 2008, 04:44:27 PM »
Hi, now before i start this off, i am not saying anything agains G-Han. I was listening to Frog Theme (because its such a great song in Chrono Trigger) and i haven't yet heard NSM's version of it and when i started to listen to it, it turned out to be a really bad rendition of it, the beggining was totally wrong. It lasted about 7 measures and also the Left Hand was REALLY overpowering and sounded wrong in a couple of places by the sound of it, so i think we need to fix that cuz it just doesn't sound right to me or any of my friends who also played Chrono Trigger.
