Projects / Atcero's Aquatic Update Project Sheets
June 21, 2024, 01:23:57 PM
Oh man a new arrangement after being gone for months :please:

Depending on how this one goes/if I have time, I may also do a second short one.

I did simplify a bit just do to how many voices are going at the same time in this song, but I do have a 32nd run that can be eliminated/changed if need be.

Site News / 5000 Sheet Milestone Special
March 05, 2024, 06:32:08 PM
Hey all!

As some of you are probably aware, we are fast approaching our 5000 sheet milestone! To commemorate this, we are going to be making a special video with your two favorite pieces you've arranged or, for those who are not arrangers, just favorite sheets on site in general!

To participate, please click here for the form.

Please keep in mind depending on how many submit, we may not be able to include everything, so submitting does not guarantee it will be in the video, but we will be trying our best to get what we can in!

We hope to get this started soon, so please reply as soon as you can.

Thank you to all you peeps who help make this site what it is today, we can't do it without you!

Oh boi I got twooooo (but one is only 9 measures long with one of those being a rested pickup)

Shadowgate - Dragon's Den

Have had this one done for a few years now but never got around to submitting it. Shoutout to Libera and Latios for helping with the rhythm way back in the day. I was unsure of the accidentals but I just tried to make it the best for playability with the least amount of switching back and forth between naturaled and sharped/flatted.

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin - Hail to the Past

Also a song I've had on the backburner for a few years but completely redid this one from scratch since my OG sheet sucked majorly. I do want to add in dynamics for only the right hand since it gets quieter or louder depending on the instrumentation while the bass keeps the same sound level, and I think for this sheet it might work really well but I'll wait to add that after I get some opinions. Same note as above with accidentals, hopefully theyre all correct but this do be me with accidentals so we'll see.

If Hail to the Past seems too big to allow a second sheet I can remove Dragon's Den, but the only reason I added it was because I felt like itd be small and (hopefully) easy enough to just throw in as well since it also is a hot theme (you're warned many many times its too hot in that room to stay long and your shield is gonna melt if you dont leave).

Oh boi replacement time! Last one for Dawn of Sorrow too

Name I took from the updated name format they had but can easily be changed back to The Pinnacle if needed.
There were a few chords I was not able to fully hear so I could not fill them in fully, but all the chords I do have in there should be correct.

Oh boi! Only got one sheet cause finals, and it do be a simple one
Side note: seen a few names for this sheet: Alien Spaceship, Spaceship Dungeon, and Into the Spaceship. Zophar's uses Inside the Spaceship so that is what I am using for now unless there is a more official site that lists it (have not seen it yet personally)

As always, it do be in the dropbox: Inside the Spaceship

Help Guides / Guide to Foobar2000
April 20, 2022, 09:47:03 AM
Foobar is a program that helps split a variety of older console songs with the help of a plugin called Game Emu Player.
It is incredibly helpful to anyone who likes to arrange these older songs as it splits the tracks into each distinct channel.

Set up:
First, download Foobar2000 and get it installed.
Next, download the Game Emu Player Component
In Foobar2000, go to the Library tab and click Configure. Mosey on over to the Components preference tree, and hit "Install..."
Find wherever you downloaded the Game Emu Player to and simply select it and hit "Open", then "OK".
Congratz! You now have a working retro song splitter.

How to use:
From here, it is quite simple to use. Download the original music files (I personally use Zophar's Domain) and do "File" then "Open" in Foobar2000. Make sure you select the game files and not the other file formats that may come with it.
After you have your song, you can go to "View" then "GEP control". You should see a box like this:

GEP Control Popup

This is the controller for which channels are playing or not. Each system has its own setup and naming convention. This is the SNES controller usually seen, but other times you may see Squares, Waves, DMC, and the like depending on what file you use, for example nsf files (NES) usually have two squares, a triangle, noise, and DMC file.
You may have to check "Enable playback override" for it to allow the settings to be able to be changed. From here, you can slow down or speed up your song, and mute channels to listen to the one instrument you may need to be able to hear.
If there are any questions, please reply back to this thread and I can clarify in this main post if need be!

Some Notes:
  • For NES and GB songs, I've found you sometimes have to go to each individual song as they are not labeled to find the song you want.
  • The length of the song stays the same if you slow it down. This means if you have a song going at 50% speed and the original song length was 3 minutes, it will only go for 3 minutes at 50% speed which sometimes does not allow you to get the full song and may have to jump around a bit.
  • If you slow down in the middle of a song (or speed up) and you want to relisten to a certain part, Foobar will set the rest of the song at the speed you are currently at which will change where the song was before you slowed down (or sped up).
  • Sound Channels take a few seconds to mute or to have sound after clicking the checkbox.
  • Tempo does not affect pitch. Pitch affects pitch.

Oh boy, project time. I failed attempted 3 other sheets before finally settling on Platinum Moonlight as my second sheet. But it works, I guess.

Also now that I have full finale, I formatted it to what I could remember the guidelines are but if there are mistakes please let me know so I can fully format it and learn :kekdog:

Welcome to my arrangement topic! I mainly cover more unloved songs/games from my childhood. I may cover a whole game, or I may not. Who knows, I'm still learning.

May update the youtube links at some point due to the Evil Takedown.

Some Notes:
  • Spoilers underneath a song is the YouTube link (will fix one day, just not today).
  • If they are accepted for submission, I will put a note next to them.
  • I have Musescore files well as Notepad files since I work predominately in Musescore. I upload the final onsite versions of my arrangements on Musescore.com for any other user.

Currently working on:
Shadowgate OST, CV Gameboy OSTs

On the backburner:
Ebony Wings, The Hidden Curse, Dracula's Tears, Hail to the Past, Rhapsody of the Forsaken, Gargoyle's Quest II OST, Castlevania: 64 Introduction

Will work on next (maybe):
The Colossus, Lament to the Master, Hard Won Nobility, An Empty Tome
