You thought that I would miss my own deadline?

Space Battle Ship 130 33KI - Radiant Silvergun

Fortress of Lies - NieR: Automata

SBS is obvious.  Fortress of Lies plays on the orbital space station.

I also have a third extremely easy sheet, but feel free to prioritise other stuff/let me know if you think it's too much.

Orbital Ring - Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Spoiler
plays on the orbital space station.

Project Archive / Space Travel Update
« on: April 23, 2022, 10:47:46 AM »
The thread you have all been waiting for is finally here!  This time, NinSheetMusic exits the atmosphere on a journey to explore the cosmos, with the new theme of Space Travel, as chosen by our members.

How to participate:
  • Create a new thread in the Projects board called [<insert username here>'s Space Travel Project Sheets]  In the first post in that thread you will need to keep an up to date list of the sheets you have submitted as well as links to the original tracks (just like in submissions).  This is where feedback for your arrangements will go.  You can also go to other arranger's threads to leave feedback of your own, which we highly encourage!
  • The sheets submitted must fit the theme of space travel, which should be taken to mean involving outer space in some manner, spaceships/stations, celestial bodies etc.  If in doubt about whether your idea is suitable, feel free to ask here in this thread.  We generally try to be lenient to an extent, but remember that the purpose is to put together a coherent update.  Of course, there is no requirement to arrange new sheets for this update, but you can if you want to.
  • PM Latios212 with your email address so that you can access the Dropbox folder where we will be hosting all of the sheets (if you already have access from a previous project, this step is unnecessary).  You should upload submitted sheets (just the .mus or .musx is fine) to this folder yourself, and keep them up to date when changes are made.
  • Like last time, there will be a limit of 2 submissions per arranger for this project, although this number is subject to changes by the updating team if your submissions are very complex (we may limit you to one submission) or very simple (we may allow more than two submissions).  Remember that decisions about changing the submissions limit are purely up to the updating team's discretion, although we are happy to hear your input.

The deadline for submissions is (almost) exactly two weeks from now, Saturday, 7th May, 1000 GMT.  We will accept no sheets that are submitted after this time.

Note that, as with previous projects, we cannot guarantee that every sheet you submit before the deadline will eventually make it into the update.  To maximise the chances of your sheets being accepted, you should ensure they are as high quality as you can make them (arranging within your skill level will help here) and you should make sure to respond promptly to feedback in your thread.  Feel free to ask about the project or the project submissions process here, if you have any questions.

Happy arranging, and try not to get sucked into a black hole while you're at it!

Project Archive / Deciding the Next Special Update (Spring 2022)
« on: April 12, 2022, 05:48:52 PM »
Having all had plenty of time to relax since our colours update last year, it is time once again to have another special update!  As per usual, we will start by taking nominations for themes from our users.  Each user can suggest just one theme in the thread here.  The nomination phase will be open until this Sunday evening (2200 GMT, Sunday 17th April).  The restrictions are the same as they always are:

  • The theme cannot be limited to a single game/series or musical style.
  • No duplicates of previous themes (colours, replacements etc.)

The best themes are the ones that are easily applicable to many different types of video games and musical styles, whilst also being coherent.  If you want to see the previous nomination thread, you can find it here.

Like last time, before voting begins the updaters will draft a shortlist of the options first.  This is to simplify the voting and also to ensure that the options will be the ones most viable as the focus of an arrangement project.  Once the shortlist is announced, the voting will be open for around five days.  After that, submissions will open for a fixed period of time (more details to come when nominations are closed).

Submission Center / Replacement Initiative
« on: January 11, 2022, 01:11:49 AM »
Hello all, and welcome to NinSheetMusic's new Replacement Initiative!  Let me explain how this will work, because it will be very different to previous replacement projects.

Over the past year or so, the updating team have been going through all of the sheets on-site that currently need replacing and have divided them into categories based on how far they are away from meeting the site's standard (i.e. how good they are).  You can find out more about this new and improved replacement audit here.  Below is a list of 10 of the most needed replacements based on that categorisation (semi-arbitrarily chosen from the M category).  We have put them into difficulty categories to help you gauge how hard they may be to arrange replacements for, but your experience may differ to our estimates.  We would like to encourage you to have a go at replacing one of these sheets, and you will be rewarded with an extra sub slot for doing so!  I will explain the details of how this will work below the list.

Easy
Medium
Hard
  • Cavi Cape - Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story [Original]
  • Nacrene City - Pokémon Black & White [Original]

Here's how it will work:
  • You express your interest in arranging one of these sheets by letting everyone know in this thread.  This is to prevent multiple people from needlessly working on the replacements for the same sheets, and will work as a soft claims system.  If you're not able to work on the sheet anymore, let us know as quickly as possible in case someone else wants to work on it.  If you are inactive with an outstanding claim and someone else wants to have a go, they will be free to.
  • When you have completed your sheet, post it here (or a link to it here) so that everyone can see.
  • An updater will submit your new replacement to the submissions board for you, which will not count towards the normal maximum of two submissions.  We withhold the right to not submit your replacement if we do not feel that it is up to the quality standard that we expect in submissions.

Here is some extra miscellaneous information about this initiative:

  • You can only have one additional submission from this initiative at any given time (this includes collaborations).
  • We may in the future add more sheets to this initiative, but for now these are the 10 sheets.  Our aim is to keep this as a running list of sheets to be replaced, but we may adjust things depending on how it turns out.
  • The titles in the above list refer to the names of the sheets on-site, but may not be the correct names that we should use.  We encourage you to research this if you are arranging one of these sheets.  We also encourage you to check the original sheet on-site to see exactly what needs replacing.
  • We have endeavoured to provide a correct audio source alongside the sheet name in the list, but we encourage you to cross-check the audio with the sheet on-site to make sure you are arranging the correct piece.
  • If you are ever in doubt about anything, please do not hesitate to ask in this thread.  We will do our best to assist/clear things up.

List of sheets so far replaced via the initiative!

Project Archive / Colours Update
« on: July 14, 2021, 02:27:11 AM »
It is time, once again, for a NinSheetMusic arrangement project.  This time the theme, decided by all of you, is colours!

How to participate:
  • Create a new thread in the Projects board called [<insert username here>'s Colo(u)rs Project Sheets] (the u is, unfortunately, optional).  In the first post in that thread you will need to keep an up to date list of the sheets you have submitted as well as links to the original tracks (just like in submissions).  This is where feedback for your arrangements will go, and you should go to other arranger's threads if you want to leave feedback yourself.  (We highly encourage this!)
  • The sheets that you submit must fit the theme of colours.  This means anything with a colour or a colour-related name.  If in doubt about whether your idea is suitable, feel free to ask here in this thread.  The sheets you submit can be completely new arrangements for this project, or they can be sheets that you have made in the past.
  • PM Latios212 with your email address so that you can access the Dropbox folder where we will be hosting all of the sheets (if you already have access from a previous project, this step is unnecessary).  You should upload submitted sheets to this folder yourself, and keep them up to date when changes are made.
  • There will be a limit of 2 submissions per arranger for this project, although this number is subject to changes by the updating team if your submissions are very complex (we may limit you to one submission) or very simple (we may allow more than two submissions).  Remember that decisions about changing the submissions limit are purely up to the updating team's discretion, although we are happy to hear your input.

The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, 27th July.  We will accept no sheets that are submitted after this date.  This gives you two weeks to make and submit your arrangements.

Note that, as with previous projects, we cannot guarantee that every sheet you submit before the deadline will eventually make it into the update.  The best way to increase your chances of getting your sheets accepted is to respond to feedback promptly (and, of course, to submit high-quality sheets in the first place!)  If you have any other general questions about the project or project submissions process, feel free to ask about it in this thread.

We look forward to seeing what you submit!  Happy arranging, everyone!

Project Archive / Deciding the Next Special Update (Summer 2021)
« on: July 03, 2021, 10:57:15 AM »
Back in February we finished off the previous special update, and after having a few months to relax it is now time for the next one!  We'll begin by taking suggestions from our users for themes for this update.  Each user can suggest one theme in this thread here.  Nominations will be open until next Friday evening (roughly 2200 GMT, Friday 9th July).  The restrictions are the same as last time:
  • The theme cannot be limited to a single game/series or musical style.
  • No duplicates of previous themes (food/cooking or replacements)
You can see a list of the themes that were suggested last time but didn't win here.  The best suggestions are ones that can be applied to many different types of video games and musical styles.

Different from last time is that after the nominations period has ended, the updaters will be drafting a shortlist of these options first, prior to voting.  This is to ensure that the options are the ones that are the most viable for being the focus of a special arrangement project, and also will make the voting simpler for all of you.  After the shortlist is announced, voting will be open for approximately 4 days.  After that, we will announce the chosen theme and submissions will be opened up for two weeks.  More exact details will be posted after the voting has concluded.

By far the number one complaint we get at NinSheetMusic is that our arrangements are just simply too easy to play and don't challenge our users enough.  The updating team has been thinking about this problem for a long time now and we are excited to finally announce our solution: Extreme Version arrangements!  For too long our sheets have been constrained by authenticity, standard practice, and by trying to stick to an appropriate difficulty for the original piece.  This new arrangement category will allow us to explore bold new ways of arranging, never before considered possible.

Unfortunately, talented as they are, our current arrangers' skills would nevertheless be insufficient to introduce this brave new category, so we have had to bring in a team of legendary, brand new, never before seen arrangers to put together this exciting launch update.  We hope that you are all as excited as we are about this whole new extreme realm of possiblities that are opened to us now.
