Hey all,

A few years back, NSM had an IRC room. It was really popular for a while, but she's dead now. Would there be any interest in resurrecting her? I know we have a Discord and and Skype room, but for those of us who use neither, a bumpin' IRC would be kind of cool.

Here is the information for the old server:

Server: irc.nfnet.org

Piano Arrangements / [N64] Corneria - Star Fox
« on: May 06, 2011, 02:20:52 AM »
Hey guys!

http://www.apollomix.com/sheets.php?sector=view&sheet=1304644566

Above is the new Corneria replacement I just created. Everything appears to be in order, but as I promised to also submit this to NinSheetMusic, I'll need some assistance in getting the formatting right, as you guys are picky, and I don't have access to Finale. :) If you want this, feel free to take it, and change the heading, et cetera.

Thanks, and a huge thanks also goes out to Master_Gamer38 and olimar12345 for their help in getting this just right!

Help! / Corneria - Finale Help Needed!
« on: April 22, 2011, 07:58:50 PM »
Hey guys!

http://www.mediafire.com/?rw4b0dp6pfg2vo7

This is, to my knowledge, the best-sounding, most complete piano score for Star Fox's famous Corneria theme. You will not find a better sounding arrangement! However, you will not find a harder one either. I'm tired of seeing all of these half-complete arrangements and recordings, so I decided to make my own. I definitely took some artistic license, but as good arrangements are definitely better-sounding than basic piano transcriptions, I feel it turned out very well.

Unfortunately, this song is NOT YET complete. I need somebody with the full version of Finale to make the following changes to the sheet:

Measures 20-21 should be played the first time ONLY. Add one of those little |---1.--| things.
Measure 21 should be in 3/4 time.
Measures 23-25 should be in 5/4 time. This will result in them being two identical measures.

Also, can you make the repeats work? It might do that automatically when you load it in the full version of Finale. I don't know.

Lastly, if possible (though not mandatory) if you could squish all of the measures up to the top of the page so they're not spread out, that would be wonderful.

Thank you so much for your help! As a thanks, I'll submit this to NSM when it's completed. :) Also, if you have any other suggestions on changes that should be made, feel free to let me know.

Fulfilled requests / [Wii] Donkey Kong Country Returns - "Rocket Barrel"

Completed and on site

MP3 - http://www.mediafire.com/?j3qk9dhwh361hnd
YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hiy7fqHEeo4

Hey guys!

I was wondering if anyone here has been working on this song, or would be interested in arranging it for piano. It's fantastic, and would translate very well to ragtime piano, especially if some artistic license were taken in the bass where necessary. (for the famous ragtime boom-ta-boom-ta bass run) If anyone's interested, let me know! I'd love to do it myself, but I just don't have the time, or frankly, the skill. Hopefully someone here does!

Thanks. :)

Hi there!

Does anyone here have sheet music for the Black Hawk Down theme, "Leave No Man Behind"? I have an MP3, but no MIDI or Sheet Music. Any help would be immensely appreciated. Thanks a lot!

DEKUDUKE THE BRAVE - ALBUM

Introduction
Slow... repetitive... but it still fits the mood of the area perfectly. :) Who'd have thought?

Land of the Living
A few of you have already seen this, but this is probably one of my favorite pieces in the entire game... definitely a great way to start a level!

Cutsaw Warehouse
Catchy, but a bit short. This really fits the mood of the level, while retaining an original mixture of organ, rock, and... Warehouse-y-ness.

Through the Twilight
Probably my favorite piece of all, this nearly-all-piano song is extremely catchy. Sadly, it too is a bit short, but it's good while it lasts!

Winter Wasteland
Repetitive, slow, and slightly boring. This song has 3 key changes, but keeps the same melody, and harmony, the entire time. Nonetheless, it is very Wintery, and because of the fact the level is so difficult, no one even notices!

Unidentified Flying (BOSS)
Techno, and very upbeat. This song fits an alien boss quite magnificently, but it too is rather short. Sorry!

Forest (2P Battle)
Short, but still pretty nice. I took Brian's advice on this one, and did everything in my power to include multiple key changes. I think it turned out pretty nicely, too. Let me know what you think!!

OTHER

e-Milly
This is a very fun techno piece, and though I will admit it's albeit annoying, it's quite interesting. ;) It just goes to show what one can do with random soundfonts, and MIDI instruments!

Bells
Though repetitive, and fairly boring, I think this song is pretty nice! Using a nice combination of tubular bells, strings, and an electric bass, I really think I did a fair job of giving this song a nice, Christmasy feel. Don't you?

If you would be so kind, listen to a couple (or just one! :D) and criticize it. Feel free to praise a song's good points, but don't hesitate to point out the bad. I need to learn from my mistakes if I'm going to improve! Thanks!

It was night.
What a fright!

The Dekus were sleeping.
Not one was in sight.

Out of the stars,
came a figure so bright.

Silent as an ant,
no one would hear-- nor fight!

He abducted the seeds,
nuts, and things.

Not to be discovered,
until morning-- no Dekus would sing.

A creature so evil,
silver and bad:

Stole the Dekus' treasure...
oh my-- how sad!

One Deku stepped forward:
the duke of the land.

Dekuduke the brave,
no sword in his hand.

He said he would find
this fiend so terrible.

And he went on his quest...
and thus begins the parable.

Feel free to critique! This is the work of... about a week's work over Summer break! You can only imagine how bored I was. :P I don't really have a lot to say, so have fun!

...and no, the story has nothing to do with anything. :P

Tips
- You don't NEED to get Deku Nuts, or Deku Seeds... they just give you a higher score.
- Deku Nuts are generally dangerous to get... I don't recommend you try unless you are okay with dying. :P
- Clouds often warn you of danger, though not always.

;D

Help! / Question About Chords
« on: July 16, 2008, 10:45:30 PM »
Hi there!

I have a question about chords...

I know how to find Major and Minor chords. (For major, start on the note of the chord (such as C) and then move up 4 keys, including blacks, and then move up three. Voila, C major).

How do you find all of the others? Diminished, Augmented, 7th, Sustained, et cetera? I tried finding examples, but couldn't figure out an easy way to find them all. Thanks in advance!

Off-Topic / Replacement for "Holy CRAP!!!!!"?
« on: July 16, 2008, 09:25:06 PM »
Hi there ;D

...so I was wondering. Can any of you guys think of catchy "HOLY CRAP!" replacements? I was recently watching Harry Potter, and realized how fully I love his catch phrase, "Bloody hell", which he seems to use in place of "Holy Crap!" and the like.

So what I'm asking is, anyone here have any other ideas? :D I'm not looking for "Holy cow", or "Eek!" or something... I want something original, and catchy. :D

Nintendo / SSBM - Pichu - GRAWR!
« on: March 06, 2008, 05:03:13 AM »
Hey guys! I am in a sort of dilemma, and I would really appreciate your guys' help!

Now, a few months ago, a friend somehow got me to promise that I would get REALLY good at Pichu, meaning, better than my brother at his best character.. and my brother is one of those really good, annoying, and cocky players, so playing with him gets quite maddening. If I were to just give up, that'd be fine, as I'm sure she has forgotten about the promise by now, but always being the good guy... I'm still doing it.

Now, the problem: Brawl comes out to the US in four days... and Pichu won't be in it... and I REALLY don't want to be stuck playing Melee with Brawl on the loose... so I have to be able to almost always beat my brother... as Pichu. I mean, I don't necessarily have to WIN, but I need to be certain that I am BETTER than him... if that makes sense.

EXAMPLE: Assume you were to play me in a 5 life stock match.... however, when you die, and start again, you have 999% damage... but I always restart at 0%. Now, we fight, and I win, but you managed to kill me three times. Who's better? You are! You had a major disadvantage, but still did well, and thus, though you lost, you are better.

I need to find a way to prove that I am better than my brother, while I'm Pichu, and he isn't. His character is Samus, if you must know, so he's firing stuff all over the place.. and of course, if I get anywhere close, he can kick me, and I go flying. However, because Pichu is Pichu, I'm actually pretty good at him... but I need to be CERTAIN that I'm BETTER than HE is. How might I go about doing that? :P I'm better at battles with over two people... but when we are doing one-on-one matches, Pichu's pretty much screwed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! You KNOW you have all SORTS of Pichu tricks you are just dying to share, right?
