Alright that worked, should've thought of that sooner. I'll try to do some stuff this weekend. Sorry for the long delay.

Haven't gotten a chance to work on it really, sorry. :/ (And since I don't have the full version of Finale, it's really difficult to modify)

Thank you. I'm not too experienced with this, and I trust your judgement more than my own. I'll try to do some touch ups.

No, I just didn't catch them. In fact I didn't even notice them until you pointed them out (my mistake - this is my first submitted arrangement).

Thank you so much! :D

Even if it doesn't end up working, I thank you for trying. Formatting stuff is annoying.

Quote from: Dekkadeci on April 29, 2017, 09:00:01 AMSean081799, I sympathize--the process of importing a Musescore file into Finale Notepad through MusicXML typically messes it up (removes measure numbers, mangles alignment, harder to put the website URL on the file to begin with).

With that being said, do you know enough XML to edit the MusicXML file (in a text editor) just before importing it into Finale Notepad (e.g. insert "<measure-numbering>system</measure-numbering>" within <print> tags but after </system-layout> tags to restore measure numbers for the first measure of each line), or would you rather have someone with paid Finale adjust your .mus? I'm in a similar situation to you, where all we have is Musescore and Finale Notepad. It's possible you might need multiple people's help, as I haven't been able to figure out how to reliably edit things like numbers of measures per line with MusicXML alone.

You can adjust things like the positioning of dynamic markings with Finale Notepad alone, though.

With that being said, if your screenshots are any indication, we'll likely be adjusting your .mus so it looks even better than your PDF--some of your articulation markings in the second PDF screenshot jam into the beams of the piano part above, for example, and this makes your PDF less readable.

Unfortunately I have no knowledge about XML. :(

And I was having some problems with the dynamics locations, they wouldn't allow me to select them and move it (same with the tempo marking).

Quote from: Altissimo on April 29, 2017, 09:44:33 AMThe xml download doesn't work, like, at all. It just gives me a bunch of empty staves and the title "Frosty Grotto" at the top. Can you give me a link to the Musescore file download? I can export it into Finale myself and fix the formatting if you do

Absolutely, here is the Musescore file (if you do end up making a fixed version, feel free to credit yourself for editing; there is no way I would be able to do it).

Thanks to both of you for the help.

This was really fun to write. It is a 6 part percussion ensemble featuring Glockenspiel, Xylophone, 2 Marimbas, Vibraphone, and Drumset.

[X-Post from my other thread]

Hey everyone, I recently finished a duet arrangement for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 1's Frosty Grotto, and I am interested in submitting it. The only problem I have encountered is that I have a very poorly formatted Finale file. Since I use Musescore as my primary arranging program, I had no difficulty creating the PDF and MIDI file. However, I did what I read to do - export the Musescore file as a .xml and import it with Finale NotePad 2012 - but the formatting is very messed up.

While is has proper formatting on the Musescore-Exported-PDF (Screenshots: https://gyazo.com/7a50e1231fb660c9437ae041eb487121 and https://gyazo.com/da111bc894142a7011b014c9c54012ef), the imported Finale file is very messed up (https://gyazo.com/153c1926aeb15fe49d8bd011f852b1f7 and https://gyazo.com/12951de31aacf092e2dbe282b501d857). I was wondering if there is any way to fix this formatting; I have very limited experience with Finale and find it not very user-friendly.

Can anyone offer some help?

Help! / Question for non-Finale scores
July 11, 2016, 10:33:56 AM
Hey everyone, I recently made a solo piano arrangement for Mt. Thunder from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red and Blue Rescue Team, but I used MuseScore2 instead of Finale, so I don't have .mus files and such. Is there a way to either submit a non-Finale score or an alternative file (or if anyone knows how to convert a .mcsz file to a .mus file safely)? I do have a PDF file good to go though.

PDF Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/r2nf7kk06v22ssr/Mt+Thunder.pdf
Score Presentation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yHpxWTdly0

And yes if you are asking this is my first arrangement of any piece from any game, and I know it isn't the best possible arrangement.
